Sammy07: Egbami, when has lighting up roads become achievement?
Paying salaries?? Isn't that his job? Is that an achievement?
Agricultural focus?? Which of the SW governors ain't focus on agriculture?
Those that I cancelled are out of point.. We don't celebrate mediocrity here.
You are not being sincere here and its obvious you are one of those apc e-rats. Those items you cancelled as irrelevant as they are to you yet your apc and ajimobi could not achieve them for 8 years. During ajimobis 8 years, oyo state civil servants suffered, some lost their lives or their loved ones when their salary was not paid for 6, 8 months. In a sane environment, those cancelled items are basic things that no right thinking government should be boasting of achieving, but apc showed us in oyo state that they are big deal because they failed to achieve them.
NwekeUG: Fuji musician, Wasiu Ishola Adewale Olasunkanmi Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, professionally known as Kwam 1 and who is now a Maiyegun of Youruba land was captured slapping a photographer during an event.
Also known as K1 De Ultimate, the 63-year-old during his performance at socialite Ibrahim Dende's birthday party, was captured on camera, cautioning a photographer. In the video, he is seen stopping midway through his performance to call someone onto the stage. A photographer, while trying to get a good picture, attempts to sit at the bottom of the stage but gets slapped on the head by the musician instead.
Luxxycool: I'm glad i found someone that said my mind exactly, those joints you mentioned has got me thinking, I miss them die most especially BUSH inside secretariat. I'm new in the UK so it's boring, still finding my bearing and I'm missing home. That being said, I do not regret leaving. I'll just make sure I go home every year.
You are right bros, UK is boring especially to those of us that has spent most part of our lives in naija before migrating or relatively new here. But the ones born here or those that has been here for long have a way of widening out to enjoy themselves. For new and older people, it's difficult making new friends unless you are fortunate to be around those you have known from naija. Everybody is busy here and it seems the system only encourage you to go to work, come home to sleep and go back to work . The system is not 'naija compliant' at all but it allows one to be focussed and develop yourself gradually. The system is stable and working unlike naija wey be say common man no get life.
My regrets for leaving naija is not leaving earlier. What I missed for leaving naija are: 1. 'Shortcuts' in getting things accomplished as you have to follow due process and procedures here in UK. 2. As Ibadan man, I missed my regular Amala and abula at ola mummy, Skye, iya ope etc 3. I missed my regular get-together with my friends all over drinking joints at Iwo road. 4. Can you imagine, sometimes I miss some of naija crazy ways of doing things. The noise, crazy drivers, cursing when a driver messed up, playing loud music all around the town, hawkers making noise in the neighbourhood etc
Nevertheless, I thank Jehovah God for taking me and my family out of Naija.
Wetin eyes see for naija, mouth no fit talk am finish.
mfm04622: NURTW mean National Union of Road Transport Workers. Their members include all drivers driving bus, Okada and kẹkẹ! If they strike, how will you get to your destination?
And if they strike, how will they make money? Remember they are not earning salaries.
BornagainXtain: Even though I'm a born again Christian, I'm ashamed of the hypocrisy of my fellow Christians as regards the kind gesture of governor zulum on the igbo teacher. None of we Christians saw nothing wrong in the kind gesture despite the governor being Muslim but if a Muslim commits an atrocity we Christians are quick to demonize Muslims as terrorists. We really need to change our ways for christ sake
A fake born again Christian. Who is a christian? You dont know. Who is/are born again? You dont know.
But i understand 'born again christian' is only one of your nairaland names.
The reasonable, sensible and most intelligent Nigerians are the ones that voted for I DONT CARE
The reason is simple
1) Nigeria's political sphere is fcked. It has nothing to do with Buhari. If he leaves, we are fcked. If he stays, we are still fcked
2) Most Nigerians are docile, stupid and they are the most tribalised people in the world. Even if you kill all politicians today, we will still elect new ones based on our tribe and religion. And in the end, we end up electing nonsense
I could go on and on, but let me give enough space for the person below to type
The 13% are actually the most sensible in the country currently
Your personal opinion doesn't make you better than others.
greenprince: No be big money too. Guy UK is damn expensive.
Its funny when you hear people saying some are collecting so so amount per week, per month in UK as if they will go home with all the money. In UK, the more your salary, the more your tax, some do pay as much as half of their salary as tax.
OsamaB: I am surprised that Australia is number 1. I currently work, school and live Australia and I can tell you that it is not as simple as the OP describes. Australians have a thing were they want you to have an Australian work experience. So I have seen people with good Nigerian qualifications and experience migrate here only to work with old people.
You are very correct. Most times when you migrate you start your life hustle all over again ni. No matter how experienced and professional you are in naija when you get to the western world, your experience will not be recognized (except you are going with I.T. certification which is globally accepted) When i got to U.K. i realized that U.K. driving license will provide you job than Masters degree from Naija,
