The first and last time i cried for love was back then in secondary school, i was in jss 3 then, there is this girl i loved so much and one day, i decided to send the girl a love letter which i later sent to her, unfortunately, the letter circulated round the class and i never knew how it got to our class teacher, mehn!!!! I was being called to the assembly the front of the assembly the next day i received 25lashes of cane, just imagine the ways i cried that faithful day That's what they call crying for love not the nonsense cry you people are crying these days....

Agreed! We are all the same regardless of location. You do have to understand one thing though. The people you meet online can be a fabrication of their reality and the people you meet in person are more likely to have their character on display.

Culturally parents match-make couples simply by showing you his or her picture....those marriages lasted even longer than what we have today.

Parent doing match making is not real love to me....it's sounds like enforcement or keeping tradition alive. The only reason why these type of marriages lasted for so long is sometimes tolerance because the couple fears offending the parents or family in question.

Oh well many of them don't hide the facts that they love good stuffs and are out for any one who can guarantee them a better life. It's just that a lot of guys are of the euphoria that these girls are truly in love with them. And moreso, many guys prefer these class of girls to the ones who are less materialistic. I agree with you completely. However, I believe a basic appraoch will be appropriate for a shy guy and what the op suggested seems more applicable to guys with experience. This is my view but it may not be the same for others.
