My people please study permit application was made ,2 days after we applied for withdrawal of application ,application was latter approved.please hope an approved application cannot be withdrawn again o....kindly assist.

Hello Subzheero,

The reason your application was not successfully withdrawn, after the request was submitted, is because a decision has been reached. Applications that have been finalized or have an eligibility review already started cannot be withdrawn.

If an application was approved based on induced error (oversight from the officer or discovered misrepresentation), the approval can be rescinded if after reopening for a secondary review eligibility is failed.

Good afternoon/evening guys

I’ve been inactive on this platform for a while now which it wasn’t my fault, and I want to say I apologize for coming back this way, this group I’ve really been helpful and gave me what I have today.

Thank you guys and appreciate it all

Please I’ve a red flag in my application back then but didn’t know it will come back at me now,

While filing the IMM form I mean the form for the family(names) I declare myself to be single but those period I have a partner but we not married yet, so now I’m here Canada for a year+ now and I’m planning to go back home to make arrangements for wedding but at the look of things(the cost of the flight and my job) I decided to stay back in Canada meanwhile I got into Canada through study route but I’m planning to bring in my partner through the Common law spouse we’ve been together and lived together for 3years+ and but the red flag right now is I declared myself single and now I’m making plan to utilize the cash with me for the POF instead of throwing it on flight and living my job behind.. though I know I could call Ircc to update it for me and also refill the form and send it through web form but my concern is if I do that, won’t Ircc see that as a red flag as to why didn’t I declare her at first but now..

Please I need advice on this I would appreciate any input from you guys please na beg I beg no mind my English🙏🙏

Hello Treasure134,

Fill in the correct information in the IMM form and give satisfying reasons as to why the initial information was declared so. You can likewise apply for her through the Spouse or Common-law Partner Open Work Permit.

You will have to provide sufficient documentation like old pictures of each other, and with each other's family maybe for social events. Proof of joint investment, bank account, business, apartment lease, etc. are also critical documentation to prove you have cohabited together for at least 1- year.

It's been a while I've been here. The reality in Canada was not as I envisaged but we give God the glory for the last 8 months I've been here.

There have been times I questioned if I did the right thing and times I was confident I did the right thing. Canada is designed to reward the SMART ones and not just the average HARDWORKER. Don't get me wrong, if you work hard you will surely be rewarded, however, you might continue in that endless loop whle the smart ones are soaring.

Our social media content creators unfortunately paint a perfect picture of life in Canada and prevent people from preparing adequately before arrival. The housing crisis, the lack of student jobs, the cost of living (especially if you depend on the Naira cos of no jobs) etc, is not a joke.

In all, it's a beautiful place especially in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Basic amenities are present so you don't worry about basic things really.

Comparing life over here with life back home, it's way better once you're settled and finacially equipped so don't be discouraged in pursuing your dreams.

Feel free to shoot me questions and I'll gladly answer. Please don't send me emails cos chances are that I wouldn't see them.

Hello Johnstan

Good to know you are making progress in your new reality and how have studies been?!

Hi guys...wishing everyone ppr soon!!
I wanna ask sth pls.
My cousin and her husband in the UK want to relocate to Canada.
The husband has finished school and wants to go for his masters in Canada while the wife is still a student and will finish by this time next year. Also, the husband has work permit in the UK.
Please, how are they gonna apply to come to Canada from the UK? They want to start the visa application now.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and advice🙌🏾

Hello Kuty1992,

The spouse can consider immigrating through the Federal Skill Work Program or Provincial Nominee Program. Also, the Live-in Caregiving temporary work route can be leveraged if his work line is in health-related areas and can secure a job offer letter from private (homes with a vulnerable family member who requires a care service) or public organizations responsible for the care of people classified as vulnerable groups.

In the case that the eligibility for the dittoed programs is not met, and since he already has a Master's, a Ph.D. program should be considered for easy convincing of the officer about his genuine study intent.

Hello Ehisg,

Check your IRCC Portal account. It is supposed to drop after the stamping of your passport. No need to worry if you don't find it there or drop before your departure. At the POE, just tender the PPR letter coupled with a straightforward explanation, if the CBSA agent should ask any questions regarding it. "You didn't receive the correspondence letter."

Hello, I’m new here and wanted to get some insight. I am thinking of wanting to sponsor my younger sister for a 1 year program in Canada (we are looking at Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island). However my sister is 21 and is finishing a diploma program. She does not have a job because she is a full time student. No marriage or properties or business and no substantial money.

What are the chances of approval if all proof of funds are from the sponsor? There will be nothing in my sisters name. I’m planning on doing everything.

Is it helpful if her sponsor is US based?

Hello Ghanagyal93,

It will be very important for her to demonstrate a strong economic prospect in her country. A 1-year-old baby has been refused for Personal Assets & Financial Status. Her parent's/family economic establishment can be used to tie her. See below.

• A property on lease gifted to her by her either parent;

• Opening a fixed deposit in her name;

• Being a shareholder or board member in her parent or family business;

• Parent's show of investment(s) in her name;

• Business partnership with a sibling(s), parent, and/or family member;

• et cetera.

n.b. Consider paying her first-year tuition fees.

Good morning everyone,
What’s the best approach to tackle this ?

Hello Xixteen11,

First, my empathy is shared. The officer was kind enough to specifically mentioned the primary areas of concern. If you or your sponsor declared to be employed aside from owning a business, provide the employment letter, payslips (4 or 6 months), salary account, and other necessary proof of employment like the staff directory page on the employer's website, etc.

Ensure that any lump sum deposits are adequately justified and explained. This reason can also come if the transaction inflows in the presented bank statement(s) do not historically accumulate to the sitting bank balance. If this is caused by a particular reason, convincingly provide an explanation(s) for it.

Hello house if one is being sponsored and sponsor has dedicated every funds needed into ones account,the tuition fee and living expenses, under the IMM form the fund available for study option..does one need to add the sponsors account closing statement amount to it or it wud just be the applicant closing amount since needed fund has been sent to it

Hello Republic001,

The undoing of your application will be not to include your sponsor's bank statement, whether it is a parent or third-party sponsorship, especially when (a series of) lump sum deposits are involved. Though few applicants have been able to 'escape' for those who love taking chances.

Hello house my notes just came in buh reason was i did not add my sponsor tax clearance to it.pls can i seek for reconsideration though I have already seek for withdrawal from school..can I add a new LOA with the reconsideration

Hello Republic001,

If this was my situation, I would not consider a Reconsideration instead reapply. Many SP applications being refused based on "Personal Assets and Insufficient Funds/Financial Situation" has common concern of the applicant not submitting a tax clearance in the GCMS notes.

You have two options to attend to this:

1) Get a tax clearance for the past 3 years done by the appropriate authority. Also, include any govt-paid utility and/or revenue as well as the business TIN.

and/or

2) Provide the business transactional proof i.e. sales receipt, purchase invoice, contract supply, etc. and inventory record i.e. audit book (for the past 3 years), sales ledger, book-keeping entries, etc.

Add business complementary card (optional).

Please house I need your help,I am thinking of reapplying and my agent has told me that since it was stated that I have a registered business,I need to submit my own personal account statement and I am not the one to sponsor myself,is this really compulsory?

Hello Onyekachee,

As a mature applicant, it will be wise to include your personal proof of funds, especially if it is not a parent or spouse sponsorship. If it is claimed in your application to have an active business in your country, it will go a long way to help your application if you include one. Though few mature applicants have been successful without providing one, however, personal and family circumstances differ.

Good afternoon guys. Please I need urgent assistance and advice. I applied for tourist visa in March 2020 (before the lockdown) through an agent here in Nigeria, and there was no update on the application. So, I applied for study visa in July this year by myself. I have been waiting to get response from the IRCC and I just got a response today, saying there was a request from me (that’s my agent) to my bank that the application fee (my previous application) should be refunded. Now I have to provide valid point in 15 days as to why I requested for the refund and I need to pay the $185CAD. The payment isn’t the problem, but I contacted the agent and obviously, he knows about it but claimed he didn’t make the payment from his card, that someone else made the payment for him, and he’s not been able to reach the person.

NOTE: the agent didn’t use the “Use of Representative Form”.

Please, what do I do now?

Kindly advise me accordingly.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

On the above ⬆️ issue, the agent has gotten back to me saying the person he contacted to help make the payment has finally responded to him, claiming that the application fee was reversed. But I’m yet to figure out how to go about this case properly and what evidence to attach to my explanation. As it is now, I only have the application fee payment receipt with me.

Kindly advise please.

Hello SoftdudeKay,

To be able to adequately respond to the officer's concern in your response letter, request from your paid representative:

• Full name of the payer;

• Relationship to the payer (do not say agent);

• The name and branch address of the financial institution and the type of card used for the payment;

• The individual's full contact information;

• Did the person notice the reversal, if No, argue on the person's innocence and if yes, when was it noticed and why didn't the person notify you as soon as possible, explain constructively;

• Refer the officer's attention to the reversal date on the page of the individual's bank record to make a sounding statement or argument. The bank record should be attached as evidence. Only the first page and the primary page should be attached;

• other relevant information/etc.

P.S. Try as much as possible to avoid using long sentences and repetitive words. Give clarity to your statements and keep your response letter to a minimum of 3 pages (no rule to this though).

My best wishes!

@softdudekay

Do not say that you used an agent, I repeat, Do not say that you used an agent I am saying this from experience
Although I didn’t get a 5 year ban based on my refusal letter, but it contributed to my last PR refusal and that’s part of what I have to defend now in a new application.

NEVER EVER BRING UP NEW ISSUES FOR AN OFFICER TO DIG THROUGH …..my 2 cents

Hello Msbaileyz,

In addition:

I second. I have raised this awareness here before now. I can count four people that had the same issue but only one was banned. If I stumble across the GCMS note by chance, I will share it here.

Declaring the use of a paid representative without submitting the IMM 5474e form is now considered a misrepresentation if noticed by chance, which always occurs after a fee payment reversal to IRCC.

Few might have been lucky to escape a ban but some others couldn't. If anybody is in the same mess, say the complete truth without mentioning the use of a paid representative. Only do so, if it was declared from the onset and the IMM form was provided.

Good day all the gurus in the house who have been helpful. I have been following this thread for a while.
Last year, I got admission with Niagara College, Welland, Canada for two different courses: 1- Computer programming (undergraduate diploma certificate- 2years
2- Industrial Automation (Graduate Certificate- 1 year program)
For reason of career progression I accepted Industrial Automation which I later deferred. For the sake of visa and employment purposes, Pls I need your advice on which one to go for. Hope a year program is not too risky? Thanks I have B.Eng in Elect/Elect. Engrn 13yrs ago with 2.1. I currently work as Utility Engineer in manufacturing industry.

Hello Seggzzy,

Considering your long study gap working in a field that applies automation systems in its operations, go for Industrial Automation. It is now your responsibility to help the officer understand the correlation, why the proposed study, the significance and/or relevance of the study, et cetera. The length of the program is not an issue.

Business Management program at

NBCC (New Brunswick Community College), at Mew Brunswick, Canada

Any advice on this school sir?

Hello Sammmypoko,

In the Atlantic province, the college is one of the best but the deposit of CAN$ 500 is non-refundable if the international student could not attend classes due to some unforeseeable circumstances. Don't let the cheap tuition and/or flexible PR routes be the only reasons for wanting to study in the DLI/province. This is sometimes misconstrued by the VOs.

In terms of program structure and robust curricula, that of colleges in the Atlantic provinces cannot be compared to other provinces, especially Ontario. Most colleges in Ontario will always issue a refund even for deposit payments if an application is denied or a student could not resume classes due to personal reasons like health or the loss of a family member, etc. Any college you chose to attend, ensure you sufficiently justify your reason(s) and meet other SP requirements.

There are have been rumor about their study permit refusal raTe because they are cheap schools. Anybody with contrary opinion

Hello HEADYWORLD,

Well, few applicants have gone ahead to become successful in their SP application using these colleges in the Atlantic provinces. Despite these schools being good DLIs, they are not as competitive as colleges in the Ontario province for SP applications. If you can, seek admission into UNB instead. Universities in the Atlantic provinces are okay too. However, if you can adequately satisfy the SP requirements, you can decide to consider the mentioned colleges. For recommendation, Ontario colleges are highly competitive.

Please can you throw more light on this Sir, are you saying that changing DLI and course in Canada may result in problems getting PGWP?

Hello Ojb555666,

Not necessarily. It might pose a problem if the decision/reason(s) for the action is not adequately justified. As mentioned in my previous post, it is somewhat of a new change, in that, the implementation patterns by IRCC are yet to be clear based on 'practice.' However, several factors could become a problem in being eligible for the PGWP, which is not reduced to:

• non-attendance of classes;

• taking unscheduled breaks;

• switching DLIs (without notifying IRCC/updating the new DLI information in the online account – GcKey. It seems the option is not available in the IRCC Portal;

• Failed courses;

• Violating the SP rules & regulations;

• Working beyond 20 hrs/week – temporarily suspend, as you may know already that international students can now work full time starting November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023;

• Breaking the Canadian law/DUI – taking very seriously;

• Domestic violence;

• Studying/working with an expired/invalid SP;

• et cetera.

Hello Sammmypoko,

The schools fall within the range of CAN$17,000 – CAN$ 18,000, or above. The tuition fees to be paid also depend on the program, which is subject to change as the quoted amount may not be accurate. The accurate figure is what reflects on the LOA and not always on their websites.

Hello Godpikin4,

While drawing the attention of the officer to the University 1 program, ensure to tell the officer about the relevance of the learning, and also guide the officer to understand the significance of the 'primary proposed course' of the said person's career interest after completing the preliminary study.

Hi guys, please can I get a sample sponsorship letter and do I need to notarise it?

Secondly, what is Article of association and memorandum and how do I go abt this?

My sponsor is a company that I am a board member/co-founder, this is different from my current employment (because I have a 9-5 ), and the said company is my sole sponsor. How do I go abt this without raising any red flags?

How do I bring my 9-5 into this picture without coming off as deceptive or should I be silent on it?

I have fully paid tuition for first semester and I have 6 months bank statement of my sponsor (Turnover abt N1b).

I plan to also add value of personal properties example lands and 2015 accord. both worth over 10m.

Please I need guidance to do this properly.

Hello Lapazi,

You do not need to notarize any of your documentation, it is optional. An Article of Association/Memert shows the share capital of the limited company and the directors according to shares. If it is not available to you, get a lawyer to draft one for your use.

Do not use a company sponsorship except the company are willing and has committed financially toward your study. Instead of paying for the first-year semester, make it the full session and have your maintenance cost transferred to you coupled with an adequate explanation for the term deposit. The same applies even if you are a board member.

Ensure to also include a board resolution letter for the decision reached, budgeted amount, liquidated amount, etc. to be committed to such sponsorship intention. The company can be an investment you are part of where your regular 9 - 5 salary and other earnings go into, and your 9 - 5 can be your primary income source. If the pay isn't sufficient, help the officer understand it is based on your passion, especially if it relates to your proposed study. But again, you will have to help the officer understand how you were able to invest in this said company.

Anything you do, you still have to provide your bank record to show your earnings and cash flows to either or both income sources. If you think a company sponsorship will be stressful for you to justify, you can use a related individual for your application. The funds from the company can be used to pay your tuition, demonstrate your maintenance cost, as well as run your account if your account is insufficient.

Kindly note that these suggestions are based on the information you provided in your post and may not be accurately fitted to cover grey areas in your application. Only filter what is valuable and discard the rest.

Hello Godpikin4,

It may be difficult to convince the office of a study progression or being a genuine student, especially if PA does not have prior work exposure in the health field. It will be best to maintain a related exposure to a work experience if it has been 3 years or more (my suggestion) the individual has been out of school and/or previous studies if within 1 – 2 years (also my suggestion).

Thanks for your response

Hello KRTL,

It will be best to maintain the program level you got approved for. Since the change of rules regarding program/DLI change by IRCC, it is not clear yet to fully understand the impact on PGWP in real life.

Only if you can justify your reasons for such an action/decision, then it's fine. If not, it MAY cause an issue during your PGWP if adequate justification is not provided. It is up to the VO to apply discretion. Changing your institution is fine, but it will be wise to maintain your program level.

Long post alert!!!

My timeline and docs.

First application October 13 2021
Refusal February 17 2022

Second application July 13
Eligibility August 27
Medical passed September 2
BVL October 14
PPR October 14
School - Confederation college

This time I decided to take my time and address all the previous denial concerns which was personal assets and finances.

For my SOP and LOE, i did a draft of how i wanted my SOP to look like and thanks to gcmswriters for helping with writing, reviewing my sop.

What i did differently from my previous application was that i became self sponsored, i had my mom instruct her debtor to pay the 22M he owed to my account which was what I explained in the LOE as it was a debt repayment. This of course i backed with the loan agreement docs, transfer slips.

Also paid my full tuition out of the money and also set up a GIC account to further clear any doubt that the money was just for show. After all of this i also showed an MBS of 13M in liquid cash and stated so in my LOE that i have been handed over all the money for my school and i have full control (clarifying doubts that maybe the money might not be available to me)

For the properties i used this as further proof of funds and also ties. Very important!
I did a gift deed of a duplex from my father to me to show ties and personal asset.
