Does the 40 million have to be in the account? Or do we have to just show that we can raise up to that amount before the end of the program based on the steady inflows and outflows in the account (business account)?

Hello Ceeejaytee,

It is paramount to demonstrate funds are available to pay off the cost of study, for the second year, if applicable. For the first year of study, you will have to present an account with historical inflows and a sitting bank balance.

Good day all, i am happy to be part of these great mind.

i have been given admission to study General art and science in one of the school in Canada province but i am stuck with Proof of fund. i have been doing this alone from the proceed of my work and i have single handedly raise 5million naira in the past 6 months but it not enough to serve as pof, although i am still putting in all my best to get the fund but i need to be need realistic with it because raising 40million naira alone from my salary is not feasible b4 the due date. please how do i go about the POF and do you think it is ideal to buy POF from this financial institutions.

Hello JejeIsLife,

If you can't be patient to save up from your earnings because of some reasons best known to you, the way forward is to engage in an arranged POF to build your account or get a capable sponsor who can show financial commitment toward your study intention. Additionally, if you are attending a university recognized by MPower Finance, then the option of a study loan is also there for your consideration.

Guys please can I still apply and target to join September even though my course application deadline is January 15 for Fall admission ? Bikonu answer me

Hello Milliondollarma,

Usually, course-based programs could take up to 2 months or more for admission processing and thesis-based could stay for up to 6 months or less.

Some Master's programs in some schools have an all-session admission window, whilst others consider applicants' applications who apply after the deadline for admission processing for the next session intake.

Review the program's policy and if possible reach out to the admissions office to inquire about the possibility of being considered. In summary, it's not always advised to apply to a program after the admission deadline.

How can I send CAD directly from Canada to a Nigerian bank account ?

Hello Prettytasha,

Check if you can use LemFi. It is an app that allows international students to send money from their local bank account around the world including Nigerians, to the wallet to initiate tuition payment.

hello Everyone
i need your help on this.
i applied to centennial college and resumption is early may
my first application got refused which i will reapply befoe month end when i tidy up loose ends

reasons for denial was about finances that i didnt have money of my own to sustain me during my stay in canada. my sponsors were my company ( owned by me) and brother so i have been advised to also put money in my personal account, use my personal acct statement, company account and brothers statement before reapplying

i have sent mails to the school to defer admission to september 24 but no response till now
i have paid first semester tuition already.

what do you think i do?

Hello Kost,

Log in to your student portal to initiate the deferral request. Before reapplying, pay the balance tuition fees and make sure your sitting bank balance in your account equals or exceeds $20,635. Every lump sum deposit should be well explained and justified. If possible, get your brother to transfer the funds to be shown as a co-sponsor to you then fix it in a fixed deposit liquidable prior to classes resumption and present yourself as self-sponsored.

Please do conestoga collage accept installment payment after $1500 tuition deposit

Hello Lance008,

After paying the $1,500, you will have to pay about $8,000 or as the case may be for the first installment which could be a short duration after the deposit fee is paid. Then, the second installment at a later date after study commencement.

Good morning everyone.
Pls is English Language Proficiency test a must for masters program, and if no which schools does not require it??

Hello Bamz555,

You do not need a test report if your previous studies were conducted in English. Nonetheless, few schools may require your graduate school to send directly to them a Proof of English Proficiency Letter at the same time when your official transcript is being sent.

Hello Everyone, can anyone please help with the authenticity of this Canada new policy of student paying first year tuition before they proceed to issue student visa.

Hello Thcounsellor,

Paying the full tuition fees before application submission is now a newly implemented rule that international students must take very seriously. If you can, make the payment as soon as possible.

Hi, Kindly advise as I am about to apply.
I & my wife registered a CAC and have been in business together.
She is the student and I wrote a sponsorship letter, did an affidavit of support to sponsor her.
I also moved 35k pounds to her pounds account from the company account and put description as her living cost and paid her full tuition fee from the same Company pounds account to the school for her.
I have been paying myself and paying her, we are both signatory to the company account.
My question is, do I still need to do a board resolution in the company letterhead and also pay slips?
as we both have been getting 1k and 500 pounds respectively in the last 4 months as salary.

Note am applying for a Visit Visa with the kids as i cant travel because of our business in Nigeria.
Kindly advise

Hello Harmonyedu,

It is wise to include a board resolution letter that reflects the total amount accessible to her for the study cost financing, and that PA is also an authorized signatory to the account. The paid fees from the company account should be quoted as well plus the lump sums of money movement. Precise dates should be included for all activities relating to finance. Rather than sponsor her, you can write a support letter whilst she acts as a self-sponsored applicant. This is just an opinion.

Hello Olabisi6438,

Request it via your UR self-service portal or write the international admissions office, and include the required documentation in the email, for a firsthand guide. However, one annoying trait about the university is that replying to their emails is a major problem.

I have heard that French is predominantly spoken in that province. I am curious if non-French speakers can find employment there. Thank you for your assistance.

Hello Wonder1844,

Despite Montreal being a French-speaking province, there is also a community of English speakers. Some of the residents are bi-lingual and getting jobs should not be any hassle.

Please which collage allows student to pay tuition fee after weeks of resumption

Hello Lance008,

Universities give you that opportunity/option mostly but will require you to pay a seat reservation deposit as low as $500 less or more. Colleges normally will require you to pay (almost) half of the full fees. May be about $8,000 high or less.

However, some schools in the Atlantic provinces like New Brunswick Community College or Nova Scotia Community College will require students to only pay a mandatory fees of about $500, which is non-refundable. The same also apply to Holland College in the Prince Edward Island.

Thanks @Justmellow.
You didn't understand the question asked exactly. You may kindly peruse again.

I have two sets of children here. The first set are 2 young kids, and have already secured SP with mom. No issues with this at all. The second set are equally 2 (10yrs and 12yrs), and are with me in Nigeria. The plan is to arrange for the 10yrs join mom later on SP. So, I'm considering VV for the 10yrs initially, then convert to SP while in Canada. For myself and the 12yrs, we are OK with VV. Hope you understand the contemplation here?

Hello Heffalump,

Consider SP instead. Saves time and energy.

Can someone use 401k as POF?

withdrawn into PA account from sister

Hello Ide2012,

It is insufficient. Amount up to your first year LE is better. If possible, try as much that the total received sum doesn't make up a large portion of your sitting bank balance. It's dire to explain and provide supporting documentation for any lump sum.

Tomoarika:
Advice pls.

Is it advisable to state my Master's degree when applying for my study visa for a 2yr graduate certificate?
I'm trying to avoid being overqualified?
If I don't state it when applying, is there a possibility that I can tender it in future?

It is WES verified and intend to use it when I get there. And it's relevant both to my experience and the grad certificate I'm applying for.

Thanks

Hello Tomoarika,

Whether to disclose or misrepresent facts of non-disclosure of your highest qualification depends on your ableness to give convincing reasons as to why the decision to study for a PGC is paramount.

A reason could be that becoming an academic is not of any interest to you nor is it beneficial to your career as an industry professional. Why a Ph.D. or a 2nd Master's does not favour your professional development.

If your previous Master's is Course-based, it could be argued that the programme didn't cover some skill-nurturing aspects of your career areas adequately.

Given that a PGD/C is equal to Course-based teaching with different learning experiences and more focused in areas of industry-practice teaching that forms the necessity to choose the PGC, which will also consolidate your already attained Master's qualification. If you are unsure of writing a convincing and qualifying Statement of Purpose (SOP), chat with GCMSWriters on IG/X.

Note that the non-disclosure of your Master's qualification whether it is WES evaluated or not makes it void for future use, especially when it concerns Canadian immigration.

Wifey and two young kids already secured Study permit in Canada. The other two old kids (ages 10 and 12) are with me in Nigeria. The plan is to allow the 10 years old to join mum later in Canada for her studies. Two options are available for me when I intend to apply for visitor visa:

1. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the 12 yrs, while the 10yrs go on study visa.

2. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the rest of the other children (12yrs and 10yrs). Then while in Canada, the 10yrs converts her visitor visa to study visa. The 12yrs will certainly be with me in Nigeria for now.

I have been really disturbed on the best option to take. I need gurus to help out please. @Lekiboboe, @Frankrbbn1 please advice. I know this is like your bread and butter grin
Any good advise is welcomed.
Thanks All.

Hello Heffalump,

Best to apply for a study permit for the children. However, you do not need to apply for the VV for the children again since they already secured the SP. The VV is concurrently processed with the SP. You can only apply for them if the VV expires before they enter Canada.

If you don't intend to come back to your economic activities until the end of your wife's programme, consider applying for the SOWP. For prospective applicants with kids, it's more convenient to apply for the SP for the children instead of the VV from the onset.

Hello Bobodudu100,

Both are good schools but you MAY stand more competitive study permit application chances with Uottawa because of its quality teaching standard and rigorous admission process.

You can also check UWindsor for its International Accounting & Finance and Management. Also check Canadore College for its PGC in Business Management with cheaper tuition.

Hello everyone,
I appreciate the effort you all put in here for the benefit of us all. I've been a silent reader here for a very long time and now that I've gathered lots of information, I'd like to start my journey.
Please, I have a couple of questions to ask.
1. Which is the best to go for in Canada, Masters, Post Graduate Diploma or post Graduate Certificate?
2. What is the difference between Post Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Certificate?

Thank you so much!

Hello Kefidoh,

After a Bachelor's, if you graduated a year interval, opting for a Master's shows proper progression. For two-year intervals after graduation, a PGD/C can be selected if you have no business becoming an academic.

PGD/C focuses on professional studies whilst the Master's offers course-based (professional study) and Thesis-based (academic/researcher) teachings. I believe you have your answer?!

You can put your question 2 on Google for better clarity.

CORPORATE MORTGAGE BANK for proof of funds here? Is it acceptable by canada

Hello Themillionman,

If you are to use a mortgage bank, best recommended to use POF from a commercial bank as the primary. Any other can come as supporting. If possible, only use POF from a commercial bank.

Hello Raphealolami,

Leaving your kids behind to accompany your spouse MAY not be the best or wise decision for her application. I am of the OPINION that either put in a family application if you and your spouse's economic, social, and financial establishments are well-sufficient and balanced or let your spouse put in a sole application.

Hello Larryjam,

It takes nothing to include a bank reference for an account. Including one or not is a discretional consideration for the officers to assess based on the financial and economic submissions provided.

Hi, guys. I am currently working on my Canadian application using the study permit route and do currently have some questions. I saved most of my money in dollars using a crypto exchange to edge against the naira inflation. I got these funds via freelancing as a software engineer for years. Now I am bringing the funds back to my naira account so that I can apply for my Canadian visa in a week's time, I have gotten most of my documents ready except the SOP part that explains my proof of funds. Kindly advise on how best I can go about it. Thanks.

Hello Isioefe,

It will be best to stick to freelancing as a software engineer paid with crypto as a primary income source, which prompts you to become a part-time crypto trader in exchange for circular currency. Then provide proof. Ensure that you provide enough documentation to justify your employment as a freelancer to be reliable and stable.

Also, extensively explain how getting paid in crypto, which is the official payment currency of the tech company you freelance for, has impacted your inflows to accumulate to a historical sitting bank balance. Whatever you do, show the provenance of the funds after conversion into your bank account.

Guys please my brother is going for a four years course and my father is the sponsor is a business man, but he initially does not have a business account but sudden he created a business account which is not even up to two month but funds of 15 million naira is in the business account and formaly has a savings account worth 25 million naira six months statement , but we intended using the personal saving account for the application, the issue is that based on these high dollar rate we intend transfering the money form the business account to saving account as lump sum and also pay the first semester tutution fee from the lump sum when. The money is already in the savings account to show that is not for demonstration purpose, please guys any suggestion to these

Hello Iceboyblog,

This is only a suggestion for your consideration. If evidence can be provided regarding the N15m deposited once in the account, maybe from a contract award or investment proceeds, it shouldn't be a problem. All that is required is a justifiable reason for using a newly created account to receive the funds.

In the case that proof cannot be presented, go with only the savings account whilst including sufficient documentation to support the existence and activities of the business. You don't have to move the funds from the current account to the savings account to be used for your application.

If for a reason your father's bank cannot charge the corporate account to pay the tuition, move the funds to another savings account then pay the fees from there. Unlike Ireland, Canada doesn't require international students to use the same account for the application purpose to pay for the tuition fees as a demonstration of the legitimacy of the funds. Considering your program is 4 years, try your best to offset the 1st year tuition.
