I laugh when I see posts like this. It's not about Bsc or Hnd. Like someone stated some Hnd graduates are better than thier Bsc counterparts and vice versa; it all depends on the individual's zeal to develop and learn more. I'm an Hnd graduate and I was manager at a private organization for 6 years where I constantly interviewed Msc graduates that appeared not so sound. I had about 20 people who worked under my supervision. In the end, I resigned to start my company and now have almost 10 staff, because I learnt on the job. So it's up to you NOT to limit yourself based on your qualification. Moreover where are jobs even for Bsc graduates? |

I watched the full video Most people are talking about violating human rights. What human right s does a murderer and a wicked soul have. Everyone has suddenly turned eyes away from the main issue ; she almost burnt her niece to death and we are concerned about a mere slap? He acted unprofessionally but he did what any angry person would do; he could have influenced the police to torture her, he could have hit her off camera and no one would know. Without his influence NOBODY not even the police or Nigerian government would have done anything for the poor girl but she is now been medically attended to. We have problem in this part of the world; we compare ourselves with western world on every issue, which yeye human rights; the father of the girl sef na mumu, else he would have done worse to the murderous sister. No sane person from a developed country would do that to a person talk less an innocent child for being a " witch". Who certified her a witch? Is the aunt not confirmed more of a witch. But we are talking of human rights, if he stops the show the helpless masses would still suffer. This is africa, we can't apply every rule abroad here; he was been real, he was pained, he carried the matter for head like a father should, yes unprofessional considering his calibre of person, but then a "harmless slap" that is not commensurate with her evil act should not make us forget the main issue. |
Ademola47:or maybe she wasn't missing afterall. I think the internet should have an idea of the cause of her "absence " from home for 12 days, for people to learn. Was she kidnapped? Did she actually visit her friend without informing her family? |

Bro you are only seeking sympathy, who set the age for success? Don't look at your peers, look at your situation and decide if you want to change it or not. You are alive and healthy, the sky is your limit, just don't give up on yourself and avoid public validation. |
I'm also in this situation, want to get a car for the first time but want to use it for distribution as well, I'm thinking toyota avensis 2002. What y'all think? |
I saw the video and he is very culpable for his actions and should be punished. However I can ascertain from the clip that: 1. THIS WAS A SETUP; the angle of the camera clearly depicts that. Someone knew he was going to make such move right there, possibly including the said underaged girl. 2. The owner of the house was away for too long, comprising her position on the matter. 3. Someone clearly knows he has such tendencies and used it against him. Who allows a grown man to be alone with a girl that has attained puberty. Girls mature on time, and a 14 yrs old girl these days could behave as maturely as a 25yrs male; the girl in the clip clearly looks older than 14 4. Someone wants this man down and he fell with the push. 5. From reports about him he is not confident around matured lady, hence tendencies for this behavior. He could have visited a counselor for help. 6. There was no much resistance from the girl, she could have moved away from him but she remained seated close to him; she was a bait. There is more to this issue. The issue of rape nowadays is more complicated than in the past. It's mostly psychological on both ends. You see young girls seducing men, the government should probably review age for consent. Girls now attain puberty fast which comes with some hormonal changes that makes them sexually oriented on time and some unscrupulous men fall to these or make the girls victims. I expected better from the accused considering his status in the society, he could have avoided this whole mess, I hope men learn from this. |
Can't you see that the girl is obviously having feelings for you, and don't know how to go about it. I don't believe she is that rude, just talk to her, and if you like her too...enuff said. |
Amotolongbo:Is biafra even a country.........yet? |
You didn't talk about type C; Work in a company for few years, save up (capital/experience) and then start your own company. |
Start a small bakery...thank me later Nuff said. Bye |

If you still needed to open this thread after the said event, then you need serious flogging, except this is cooked up or you not telling the whole of it. |

After the Fulanis systematically captured and made Ilorin their territory, they sacked the old Oyo Empire in 1835/1636. They were still not satisfied with their victory; they wished to extend their rule deep into the heart of Yoruba land. Thus in 1840, they set to capture Osogbo , a Yoruba town. The Fulanis, under the command of Ali , the Hausa balogun of Ilorin, laid siege on osogbo. When the king of Osogbo realized that the Ilorins were too strong for the Osogbo army, he summoned the Ibadans for help. Ibadan immediately sent some auxiliaries to Osogbo under the command of Obele alias Mobitan , and Alade Abimpagun. As this force could not stop the Ilorins, another contingent was sent to Osogbo under a more experienced leader. But still the Ilorins won every battle and gained more ground. When Ibadan realized that the Ilorins were becoming more threatening to Yoruba land, they sent a large and stronger force under Balogun Oderinlo to crush the intruding forces and Jammas of Ilorin. When Oderinlo and his men arrived at the battlefield, they realized that things had gone worse than they thought. They could not show their faces in the open field for the fear of the Ilorin horses, and for about 20 days after their arrival at Osogbo, they could not fight outside the town thickets. Oderinlo suggested that Elepo, a brave Ibadan warrior was badly needed at the war-front. Elepo had been rejected by the war-chiefs of Ibadan for his actions at the late Agbamaja expedition. As soon as the message from Oderinlo reached Ibadan, the Bashorun wished he could send Elepo to Osogbo but could not go against the wish of other war-chiefs. The Bashorun gave Elepo a cow to worship his god, Ori , and pray for the victory of Ibadan at the war-front At the war-front, the Ibadan could not attack the Ilorins during the day because Osogbo was practically in a plain and the Ilorin horses might have advantage of them with disastrous results. They decided to attack at dusk when the Ilorins would no longer be able to use their horses. About 2:pm, the well prepared Ibadan army left the gate of Osogbo for the battlefield. They were to keep a strict watch and arrest anyone suspected to be a spy. About a mile from the Ilorin camp, they halted and arranged the order of the attack. The Osogbo army and the earlier auxiliaries were to handle the center of the battlefield, chiefs Abitiko and Labuju were to command the right wing, Balogun Oderinlo with the rest of the Ibadan war-chiefs were to form the left wing of the army. The Ilorin camp was then attacked at midnight. The watchword was “ Elo ni owo odo? ” (How much is the ferry fare? The reason this watchword was chosen was because the river Osun had to be crossed in entering Osogbo from the south, and anyone who could not tell this was likely to be an enemy. Stampede engulfed the Ilorin camp as the Ibadan army set it on fire. The Ilorins could not offer the slightest resistance; they were smoked with the gunpowder of the Ibadan guns. This attack was a success for the Ibadan. Some Ilorin war-chiefs were captured in the attack. Prominent ones were: 1. Jimba the head slave of the Emir; 2. One of the sons of Ali the commander in chief; 3. Chief Lateju; 4. Ajikobo the Yoruba Balogun of Ilorin. The first two were released while the latter two, being Yoruba by birth, were regarded as traitors and were executed. This was a huge victory for the whole of Yoruba land. . After the Osogbo victory, Ibokun, an Ijesa town not far from Osogbo was taken by the Ibadans for being an ally of Ilorin. After this war, Ìbàdàn later became a force building a formidable war machinery than later prosecuted many other wars with resounding victory. Notable among the wars was the KIRIJI WAR where the Ibadan warlords formed a historic alliance with the Igbajos. Even though Igbajo became the war front for many years that the war lasted, it was never captured by the raging Ekiti parapò warriors. Rather it was a place where many of them met their Waterloo. Notable among the warriors were Fabunmi Okeemesi, Ogedengbe Agbogun gboro of the Ijesas, Apasikoto pasigegele of Igbajo and Latoosa of Ibadan to mention a few. There were many more great warriors of the time. It’s worthy to note that the KIRIJI WAR was the last war in Yoruba land. It’s also recorded as the longest native war between in Africa. Since then the Yoruba people have continued to build strong bonds among themselves and they have sustained the peace. We must continue to tell our children the history of the Yoruba people and the bond which our father had built so that we can continue to see ourselves as one. If the Ibadan people can sacrifice their lives for the people of Osogbo in other to safe other towns and villages in Yoruba land and in essence the carnage of innocent people were prevented, then, we the modern Yorubas have no reason to divide ourselves for political reasons or any reason at all. somebody02:because you shouldn't be, this is f^vking Nigeria... |
As much as we all really want to #endsars, we need to be realistic. If I'm not mistaken, there are nothing less than 10,000 sars officers accross the country. We all want them relieved of thier jobs as part of endsars. Now what do you think would happen to the country and it's already weakened security if thousands of ex sars men with no jobs but knowledge of arms and ammunition are in the society. The best is to reform the police entirely by re training them, paying them well, educating them and like someone suggested, some of them could be drafted into the army. |
