alfablondy: I was reading a thread on working opportunities In SA started by dondav. I wanted to contribute and realised that after justwise comment the thread was locked from any further comment or modification. I was wondering was it because the op had open similar threads before and refuse to listen to advise giving to him? In my opinion i think other people do benefits from threads apart from the op, I have learnt a lot from comments on this forum and believe each thread is not for the benefit of the op alone. I dont think a thread should be locked without any cogent reason. There has to be some sort of organisation here in travel section, the op has opened three threads all about South Africa. Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Job Scam:the Vio-dvla Medical Test Payment Is A Hoax by justwise(m): 11:55pm On Dec 20, 2011 |
rhymz: Dear Nairalanders, I want to use this medium to inform everyone here that has gotten the e-mail or know anyone that got the email about the VIO-DVLA job and medical test payment is a fraud, the whole exercise is a scam designed to fleece the unemployed population. The purpoted claims of the letter are all false and have been debunked by officials of VIO-DVLA. They have at no time requested anyone to pay the sum of N1500 to any Riverland Hospital Account at any first bank branch, neither are they recruiting online. The whole set up is a scam as it is standard procedure that medical test and physical fitness test usually come last after a successfull interview and selection process. It makes no sense to ask everyone to pay for a job they are yet to get or be interviewed for, unless of course there is a sinister scheme that want to decieve people into believing that everyone will be selected irrespective of your performance during the interview. My cousine who recieved the scam mail has had his contacts in Abuja where the HQ of the VIO-DVLA is situated confirm it that it is a fraud. NB: Watch out for their agents; they will come online to claim the whole thing is genuine and that they had confirmed, some will even cite instances where other coperate organizations did thesame, these are just a few of the many antics employed to hoodwink others. It is like a syndicated racket with agents all over the states. For instance, my cousin called one of the designated labs in ekiti state only to be told to come with a sample of his urine test in a rubber can when coming. What kind of a quack lab technician do that?? I felt I should create this thread to warn those of us that are gullible, desperate and in a haste to read between the lines before pathing with their hard earned cash to faceless and heartless scammers. Be warned!!! Attention: Moderators please put this thread in the front page as it is a warning thread and will go a long way to help the unsuspecting public dodge a bullet. Thank You. Well-done! keep spreading this warning. |

My cousin alerted me to this VIO job scam and I went through it to see the plot. First, there is no sense in asking applicants to pay for a fitness test for a volunteer job that has very little to do with one's physical fitness. One will have to first pass an interview before any of this processes i.e if this whole charade is even true. In most of the mails sent to my cousine, I noticed they were particular about the payment of the fitness test than anything else. The numbers they left are personal numbers and the said laboratories are all unknown labs more like a quick set up. Their antics is to divert attention from going to the real VIO office to get the real info. Even the letters are rife with spelling errors and omissions-that says a lot about the person making the claims of being the head of HR of VIO. In one of the letters they claimed they were a recruiting partner of VIO and at the end thesame writer claimed to be the head of HR of VIO, aint that a NaughtyWoman. . .lol This is pure Scam anyone that falls for it is certified Fool. Guys make una shine una eyes well well this is a big scam, prollt being orchestrated by an insider. Somebody is about to make a killing from people's desperation. I'm happy that somebody feel the way i do here, i can't believe the amount of fraudulent threads i see here on daily bases, this is evil, it seems as if nobody cares and these criminals keep posting almost every minute of the day. Nigerian job seekers should wake up, stop sending your CVs to mobile phone numbers and free email addresses. God help us. |

The question am asking is that is it possible to submit the statement of accounts individually i.e if I don't deposit the 260k in my mums account, and I submit it like that, will it be accepted? If I start counting from day 1 again my application will be late. Thanks
In your case submitting the 2 bank statements will be the best option as long as they both clocked 28days each. |
Travel › Re: UK VISAS APPEAL ALERT: £80(paper) £140 (oral hearing) by justwise(mod): 5:17pm On Dec 20, 2011 |
They have now published the fees. . . .
From today, the UK government's Ministry of Justice is introducing new fees for some asylum and immigration appeals, and changing the way customers can submit their appeals.
This new policy reflects the government's view that users of the appeals system, who can afford to pay, should contribute to the system's cost. Fees of £80 for a paper consideration and £140 for an oral hearing will be applied to appeals against decisions taken on or after 19 December 2011. . . . ,
This will put alot of people off appealing their cases, its quite expensive to be honest. |
Hi,
Please I need your advise on this issue, the tuition fee for my M.SC is £9700 and I have paid £8,700. My maintenance fee of £5,400 is has also been in my Mum's account for 13 days now. Here's the problem,I was supposed to be awarded a scholarship of £1000 but there has been a problem and that won't be possible again.
My question now is that should I submit the application like that or should I merge my own statement of account with a balance of 260,000 naira with my Mum's statement of account where my maintenance fee is kept at the moment? Will the latter option be accepted by UKBA? Should the money(remaining balance) in my own account also be there for 28 days? Please note that I don't have much time to add my own money to my Mum's account and start counting all over again.
Thanks for helping out.
If you merged it then you have to start counting the 28days again. How long have you had that 260.000 in your account? |
