olceuropng: @justwise its ok to be skeptical OLC Europe is giving a scholarship offer to the first 20 Nigerian students that apply through us,the school fees actually costs £6,000,but its being giving at a 50% discount, this only lasts for one academic year for limited slots. The education is top quality see for yourself and be convinced you can visit their website on www.olceurope.com and call their academic staff for support and more information.

You silly fool, you should know when the departure date and time are, listen to yourself, somebody traveling to Canada in 2-3 days time doesn't even know the time or date. Did u attend any visa interview at Canadian embassy? Did u send ur CV to a company in Canada for any job? Did you send ur blood sample for medical check to those 2 hospital used by Canadian embassy? henwun: Thank you justwise as you've been very helpful. Please would like to seek for your assistant once more can you briefly compose the sample the way it should be . I will so much appreciate this, There is no standard as to how the letter should be written apart from the formal address format, the content is basically the details of the company and the business meeting, nothing more. |

Torishe: Vicjustice and Justwise, Thanks for your replies to my questions. Is it compulsory the person inviting me shld provide all of these documents
1. Invitation letter (stating the relationship btw us and the purpose of iniviting me) 2. Utility Bills (e.g tax, house, electricity etc) 3. Statement of Acct 4. Data page of residence permit or passport page
The person inviting me feels this is rather too much or probably the embassy is up to something funny. Pls advise on what she actually needs to send to me Those are basic requirements, there is nothing over the board there. Those are the kind or personal info one can give to a close relative with trust. |

henwun: @justwise I have been reading your responses to people problem about UK Visa procedure and i believe you can help as well , Please I have a Friend of mine planing to travel to UK on a Business Trip , He had already applied for the Visa but was refuse bases on the fact that he did not submit any letter showing any business meeting, buying etc in his application , Though he already been to UK on a visit visa. .Now the he has some1 in Uk willing to send a Business Letter Here is the Copy of the message the Individual sent to him today (Regarding invitation the only thing we can do is sent you a letter confirming a meeting but for that we will need to agree where and when.) its from a company in UK. Please Advice me the way the Letter Should be writing and If they should address the letter to My friend or to the UK Consular. My friend is going to Uk for Business Meeting for Purchase of Goods. I will appreciate your Response to this Matter, Thanks Your friend need to find out 1st if the company is a UK registered one b4 a letter from them could be taken seriously by BHC. The letter should contain the business meeting details, company registration details and could be addressed to the ECO. Giving enough details about the business meeting helps to convince the ECO that the meeting worth traveling to the UK for else it could be argued that they can as well disuse it over the phone rather than wasting money traveling to the UK. Your friend's Nigerian business must be an established one that can afford a business trip to the UK without harming his business capital. |

Put some of ur money in domiciliary account and get a bank card, you can withdraw with ur bank card in the UK for a fee or change it to 50 or 20 £ notes and carry it with u (depend on the amount though). |

BokoRam: Carfrik: Ikeja. Am praying o. God Abeg o. U could also call them to check the status of your application. I Called and was asked My passport number, Phone number, Surname before she said "Your passport is ready for collection. You can go to your centre on Monday for it" I pray God for the best. after 18 working days. But i intend going to IKEJA VFS this afternoon to check, though ve not received their SMS.
Noology, Justwise and other friends; Should i go today or wait till Monday as advised by BHC ABUJA? Probably they will be delivering it to ur centre this wkend hence the need to go on Monday |

carfreak: @ nology, actually i do get it. I'm just tired of this unending waiting thats all. this is the first time i'm spending this long on a visa application. My first and second visit visas to the UK each valid for 6months and 2yrs respectively, didnt take more than 7 working days. My school resumes on the 26th and each passing day means i get to spend more booking a flight. @ Justwise, aside the bank statements, what other documents do they tend to verify that could take this long? I've never liked suspense, perhaps here's where i should credit the U.S embassy even though i think they are mostly myopic in their visa decisions. You are either in or out, no delays.
@ Bokoram, what!!!!!!! Guy, i was just about to post this when i saw your post. Tell me, which VFS office did u apply? Every document you submitted that raised an eyebrows will be verified, ur transcript and bank statement. Sometimes Nigerian schools and banks delay the verification by not picking calls or keen to give answers to some searching questions from BHC. If u have submitted original documents then u got nothing to worry about. The delay is normal at this time of the yr, its rush 'hour' |

BokoRam: I will call the BHC this morning on that number. Today made mine 18 working days. my colleage collected her VISA yesterday. she got her text on tuesday. And Tuesday made her application 18 working days. Lets hope for the best.
Justwise: For one's application to have stayed this long, is it likely to be positive outcome? would n't they ve pushed it out ealier if they had been issues long ago? They will only push it out when they are done with verification. |

EmmaIK: @ Justwise. I have about £1000 in my own account in my name that has been there for about 30days. I ran out of options.
The admissions officer in Aberdeen also told me to take the step, and said I need to have only about £500 in my account to convince the UKBA.
Please what do I do? Thank you. Do you have the email exchange with admission officer? Attach it with ur application and submit, since the accommodation includes feeding and other bills, £1000 can take you along way. |

EmmaIK: @Justwise. My school is the university of Aberdeen. The Accomodation is a university hall of residence, & is catered. I didn't have a choice coz it is already too late and to keep d funds in my account for 28days would make me miss this sept entry. The thinking is that since in my refusal letter its stated that I need £18600 we might be able to convince the UKBA if I took d accomodation. Would it work? I have more to survive on but can't keep it in my aaccount for 28 days. Thank you. I understand why you did what u did but paying for accommodation is not part of visa requirements. You are required to have £5400 for ur living expenses for a yr, so if you spent £5200 on accommodation alone how are u going to convince the ECO that u can survive on £200 for yr? Even that £200 has to be in ur account for 28days. Any amount you have has to be in ur account or your parents account for 28days NOT company's account. |

EmmaIK: @ Justwise. My accomodation fee is £5,200. I'm using my account with only about N300k. Where is ur school? In London or outside London? You paid far too much for accommodation, the maintenance fees ( £5400 for outside london or £7200 for London) is for all ur living expenses for a year including accommodation, so if you spent £5200 on accommodation alone how are u going to survive on 300k (£1,250) for a yr? |

EmmaIK: @Justwise & friends. I was refused UK visa previously coz I submitted my dad's corporate account during my application. I am applying again but this time I have paid my tuition & accommodation fees in full {I only paid £100 previously} a total of £17,400. Please is there anything else I should do to make my application successful? Do I need to show more proof of funds? Hw much? Do I need a sponsorship letter from my dad again? Is there any other reason I can be refused again since the only reason I ws refused was coz of the company account? Thank you & God bless. Which account are u using now? How much do you have in that account? How much did u pay for accommodation? |

jeleel1987: @ Lanrilly, what is your stress if CS will be taking 7,000 applicants to Canada? Perhaps, It is none of your business if the applicants are leaving on the 12th of this month. So far u didn't apply, why are u now causing the subordinates of CS? You had better get lost from this thread if u don't have something reasonable to contribute. yomickey: Hello NL,
I have wondered for a while what the cost of leaving Nigeria is for people.
A friend told me he could arrange UK visa for me for =N=1m on any name he gives or for =N=1.5m if I want to use my name but will wait for at least 6 months. Is it this serious and expensive to get a visa and how much will you be willing to pay to leave Nigeria?
Serious opinions please, thanks. Is that a joke or what? |

gbaby87: @justwise, imagination!!! You don't even know if I don't actually know someone there who'll give me a job. My problem is not 'there' my problem is 'here'. Are you tryin to tell me you can't imagine that its possible for someone to be hired against all odds?? All I want to know is, is there a way to work after studying?! SIMPLE. Yes you can be hired against all odds but i'm talking about reality here and not about miracle. Getting a job after graduation as a foreign student is hard, even if your daddy wants to employ you. . he has to proof that there is no British or EU job seeker who can do the job THEN b4 considering ur application. If ur talent or skill is rare then getting a job will be easier for u. Because of this new rule that were brought in this yr, many companies are discouraged from employing non-EU workers even as many prefer non-EU workers to EU ones. I don't think u will get it until you arrive here and learn from experience. |
