luv4all2nv: Pls I would want a clarity on this issue, my course duration is a year. But I was given a nine month valid visa. But my colleagues in thesame parol where given a year and 6 months. why is my case different? But am grateful to God for the visa o. Just curious
Unfortunately that does happen sometimes, you will be required to apply to apply for an extention after 9months.
Flawless: You give me jokes justwise with your accusation of me making things up lol. Do I look like a clown or stand up comedian?? That derieve joy or get paid to make things up. People get convicted for working illegally people they and after which they are detained. You need to admit that you don't know everything all the time.
I still stand by what i said b4, you will only go to jail then deported if u are involved in sham marriage or engaged in fake document business, then u will be taken to court, if convicted, u will be jailed and all the profit made from that business will be recovered and seized. BUT if one is caught working with fake paper, YOU DO NOT GO TO JAIL, the company that employed u will be fined and u will be deported after ur true identity is established.
Flawless: @ Justwise, you must be joking that people only get warned when found out on the bus. They get locked up if they don't have a valid bus cos everything is now linked to immigration.
with regards to people getting a short sentence for forging pee for working you are so wrong cos people get heavy sentence especially if the judge is mean.
I said they get fined and warned. Nobody get thrown into jail for using wrong ticket, worst case scenario is community service, AND everything is not linked to immigration ONLY if u are found to be an illegal immigrant and at the same time dodging fare then that could be linked.
You are wrong with the work issue, if u are caught working illegally, the employer will be fined and u will be taken to detention centre for deportation. You are making things up here.
Flawless: @ Vic Justice, he is right about people been locked up in prison cos of immigration issue. The UK govt sometimes keep people in prison because the detention centre is full and they therefore lock people in but not as criminal but a detainee. I know someone that was placed in a prison detention. As you stated that some of these people would have committed one crime or the other, but I seriously believe this crime are nothing but less violent crime that does not necessarily deserve a prison sentence. People are just looking for ways to survive and they are been label as criminals because of the harsh immigration rules. I seriously believe if the UK govt can tighten their border and make it very difficult for people that would not comply with their entry conditions to get visa into their country, that would sort out this chaos they are in right now. Most people in this category have establish their family here with children who have integrated into the society. It is quite dishearten to read what some people who are heartless post on this site, as if none of their generation emigrated to the UK or did not face one immigration challenges or the other. People with immigration issues do have blood flowing through their veins just like people who are fortunate enough to have legal status in the UK. All I can say is that we need a revolution in Nigeria so that people can be bold enough to go back home instead of wasting away in a foreign land.
I agree with u that the immigration rules is very hash and alot of pple struggling to get by, however, lets not 4get that the rule is the rule and some Nigerians have no respect for laws, its not by mistake that Nigerians top the list of serious immigration offenders. If the British govt don't get tough, many Nigerians will walk all over the whole system.
Let me just point out here that i'm not saying all these cos i have a stay, the opposite is the case.
Flawless: Definitely this scenario is a criminal act. Am talking about people who are prosecuted for working illegally with no forged document involved. Or other minor immigration crime such as getting on the bus without the right fare etc. Someone working illegally sometimes gets btw 6-8 months while GBH or Criminal Damage can walk away free cos he or she is a citizen.
I'm sorry but i have to disagree with u, anybody caught working illegally must have submitted forged document to get the job at the first place, and the jail sentence can't be that long, for anybody to be locked up for 2-3yrs for immigration offence then that must be a serious one like Vicjustice pointed out, u can't get locked up for having the wrong bus pass, u get fined and warned.
Onwan: In my opinion, the poster is very correct and I have always suspected the incident as an effort for their Africom and an excuse to get into Nigeria.
And by the way, you can find the missing Kenyan ape in DC
So how about the bomb going off in Nigeria? Was that planted by USA to get into Nigeria as well?
If this is true, Americans have gone to another low, just disgusting.
But what's the explanation for the pictures that were presented on Dec 2009?
Is this revelation going to be on CNN air too or are they going to sweep it under the carpet as usual?
Do you have any evidence to back up ur ranting? How many of u can come up with any reasonable proof that USA govt planted this?
teebossmay: Dear Sir/Ma, My student visa was wrongly refused on issues i don't know anything about. My CAS ECO COMMENT WAS CLEARED,MY ACCOUNT ECO COMMENT WAS ALSO CLEARED.I WAS TOLD I HAD AN INETRNATIONAL PASSPORT WHICH WAS ISSUED 2004 AND THAT I USED IT TO APPLY AT THE UK EMBASSY BUT THERE WAS NEVER ANYTIME I WAS ISSUED AN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT BY THE YEAR STIPULATED.MY VERY FIRST PASSPORT WAS ISSUED 2007,AT THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE HERE IN NIGERIA AT IKOYI,MY FIRST APPLICATION TO UK WAS 2009 WHICH WAS REFUSED BECAUSE I WAS TOLD MY ACCOUNT WAS ARTIFICIALLY INFLATED THEREFORE NOT SATISFIED,NOW IN 2010,I APPLIED FOR STUDENT VISA WHICH I MET ALL IMMIGRATION RULES,NOW QUOTING PASSPORT I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT I WAS ISSUED IN 2004,THIS WASN'T ME, MY VERY FIRST INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT WAS ISSUED 2007.I'M REALLY DEPRESSED RIGHT NOW AS I'M SUPPOSED TO RESUME AT MY LATEST JOINING DATE OF JAN,31,2011.I MADE AN ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW,GOING TO 3 WEEKS NOW,HAVEN'T HEARD FEED BACK FROM THEM WHAT CAN I DO AGAIN? THANKS.
Don't you think that somebody close to you might have used ur name to apply for passport in the past? Maybe the person messed up his name in visa runs and decided to get another passport with ur name then. Another thing is the refusal in 2009, if u have been involved in 'account building' crime then its most likely that u have been banned for 10yrs.
what can we do
they dont have a choice if you ask me, when our leaders are eating up every single kobo we have and doing nothing, everyone wants to get rich. and thats the only way they see fit to do it,
they're just playing on the intelligence of them white folks,
need i say more?
You are talking absolutely rubbish, some Nigerians with their closed minded arguments.
iz2much: yeah bo$$ nobody holy pass. but the few ones of the igbos i meet r damn desperate unlike yorubas. not let u based our time on that after all who without a sin should cast the first stone and I will double check my own appearance before i comment on any ones
iz2much: just da shock of the moment. no hard feelins bro
Its really sad that many Nigerians carries this tribal war from Nigeria to the UK. Do you want me to paste links after links about crimes committed by Yorubas in the UK? Or are you just blinded by tribal names?
AngieFan: ^^ Again, this has nothing to do with writing 'properly' and I certainly didn't use the word 'properly' in my initial post'. Please understand and look at the example above I used about native pidgin English speakers and Rab C Nesbitt. All I said was that the OP did not come across as someone who has been in the UK all their life and as it turns out I was right because he has now admitted that he lives in China and claims he is basically communicating in 'Chinglish'. This was after basically outing himself in his first post about being in Kenya. As to why a native English speaker would communicate in this so called 'Chinglish' on an English language board is beyond me but it just tells me is lying. Furthermore it appears that the girl he is after is also in China and I think the method of applying for a UK visa for a Chinese national varies slightly (disclaimer - correct me if I am wrong)Just admit you jumped on the defensive wagon a tad bit early. [flash=400,395] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrmcxa1yBec?fs=1&hl=en_US&[/flash]
Absolutely not!!! my advice to him was based on his immigration issue, not abt his writing. You brought the writing or speaking angle to it. We are addressing 2 different issues here. I can understand your points about his inconsistency in his posts, i can't argue about that, but you are wrong to suggest that i jumped to defend him.
Sugardrops: dis is sad, i wonder how reasonable people just see a story and decide to swallow the whole story hook line n sinker. lots of people being judgemental without even knowing what exactly the case is, why do we nigerians like to assess things as it comes in appearance who knows the real story? i bet no one here does, what if we or a loved one finds his or herself in the shoes of one of them, innocent and falsely accused? and then we start to read comments like this? people, we can do better. we dont just condemn our own brothers because a story from oyinbo land says they did this or that, abroad for that matter, do we know the magnitude of racism that goes on out therepls we should be careful before we pour out mean comments about our brothers, we can start by having our facts right, that oyinbo man said green doesnt always mean its actually green, it might be red for all i care, d point here is leave naivety aside and use our senses, d story might have loop holes which i understand it does,
Before you start talking nonsense, can you provve that the story is false? Why would anybody stand by a criminal? Stop blaming Oyibo and face the facts.
On the flip side - i dont know what part of the world you are but if you are not in Nigeria and are in the UK , you may still be able to use our ticketing services to Nigeria and a few other destinations ( mainly middle east) we may be able to give you cheaper quote than directly on the airline website. Any if you have any friends/relatives in Nigeria that may needs tcketing service please direct them to alpha travels for a quote and they can compare this with other optioins. thanks
I'm 100% Nigerian and will remember ur services when needed. Good luck
AngieFan: You certainly don't write or communicate (form your sentences) like you have been in the UK all your life
That quote there from you was what lead to my comment about 'white British' Basically saying that . . . .been in the UK doesn't mean one can read or write properly. . . that even some natives(White British) can't read or write properly.
ama27: @justwise- i was taken aback by your comment on scamming . You have never had any dealings with me so how have you come to that conclusion. I always tell people not everyone that is Nigerian is a scammer. Ar you Nigerian? If yes are you a scammer? I also wonder when ignorant people post certain things but surely not a seasoned poster like u? ( looking at the number of posts you made) People all over the world do not believe in us and we too dont believe in each other i wonder what hope we have. I havent asked anybody for money , neither have i offered services that were not requested. Visa processing is not illegal and i am sure you know that visa to the Midlle East is mainly coordinated by your travel agent. My email shows i have a domain , i havent supplied a yahoo, gmail etc address. we all advocate freedom of speech , system of governace etc but at the same time do we practise it? I will refer you to Alpha Travels face book page so you see for yourself the kind of business we run http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Alpha-travels-Tours/265160996584 we have 111 people as friends and 574 that like us. our company website www.alphtravelsng.com please see for yourself . thanks
I got that wrong, that was miss-directed, my apologies.
iz2much: f/u/c/k the IGBOS they messed up Nigerians everywhere. imagine in my school, they sneak into the dinning hall and eat free food which they dont pay for, even to the extent of going to Betting house packing all their drinks in a bag. so many thing those monkey called IGBO had done. I 8 them!!!!!
Disappointed, very very disappointed, i never knew u to be this dam tribalistic. Shocken.
kenny33: i am not filling the forms online, i have already print it out and filled it by hand all i want to knw is how to arrange the form wit the documents and i dont want any agent i want to do it myself
There is no special way of arranging forms and documents, as long as u have all the documents needed in one envelope, the form can be ontop while the rest of the document go underneath. Any document that comes in 2pages clip them.
AngieFan: Doesn't shock me at all but this isn't a black or white race issue so why bring it up?Most people normally write in the same way they speak and I can tell from reading Ukvette's words that he is not a native UK born citizen that he claims to be. Again, this has nothing to do with race. For all we know he could be Polish!
I think u are holding the wrong-end of my argument here. I was only trying to point out that not every British born, even the natives can read and write properly. i wasn't trying to bring up White vs Black war of words here.
tunnytox: No one is pretending here crime is a reality of life Yes some Nigerians are bad, same as some British, some Americans, some Australians some South Africans etc No one is crying victim I'm just establishing the fact that Nigerians does not have monopoly to commit crime the way some people potray Nigerians here (especially foreigners on this forum and some long lost Nigerians -" Awon omo to ti so ile nu" are just too bad, some of these foreigners have worst criminals in their countries. Those who got caught in the stories above are doing the time? yes and so are the Nigerians caught in these crimes, is there any proof that they are being treated differently?
You will only have a valid point here if those Nigerians are wrongly accused, apart from that, all u are doing here is to give excuses after excuses.
seye4nii: That u bought your passport///////////uve lost track oga who tell u dat i bought palii buying p/p is differnt frm arrangeeee marriage its even aesier to buy p/p than going tru the strees of arangeee be worn.
You paid to marry somebody for passport, so u bought that passport.
tunnytox: @justwise The answer is NO! criminals are every where so its not only a Nigerian thing. Imagine a British man stole the identity of an american to gain US passport , these kind of crime is never given so much publicity but if its Nigerians they'll say we don come again!
Please lets not pretend as if we don't know how bad some Nigerians are. Lets stop crying victim here. Those pple you mentioned there did the crime and do the time. Yes other nationalities commit crime but that doesn't make it right.
Why do we like comparing crime? It doesn't matter who committed it, crime is crime.
tunnytox: Nigerians are not the only peole involved in sham marriage, even some British people marry for paper in the US. Whilst I do not support any illegal act, I don't subscribe to people demonising Nigerians as if we are the worst set of people on earth. here is a story of a Pakistani man caught in sham maariage:
Chaoga: @former, I'm so happy for you o! @justwise, like i asked in my earlier post if i can proceed to Uni after i'm through with college, you replied "Courses below degree level could diploma or high diploma or even foundation course." do you know if the below is a diploma or high diploma? "Academic level - NQF 04 leading to NQF 06" "Course title - CMI Level 4, leading to CMI Level 6 Qualifications in Management and Leadership" You also said If the immigration law remains as it is now, i can proceed upon completion, is there any sign of the immigration law changing anytime soon? let's say 4 years? Thanks
Its within diploma, but why not do diploma instead?
Yes i think the immigration (Student) rule will change b4 or in April.
AngieFan: You certainly don't write or communicate (form your sentences) like you have been in the UK all your life so that is a big fat lie right there!!! Perhaps if you tried telling the truth about your dilemma i.e Where are you living now? How long you have actually held a UK passport etc? you might get a response that has been correctly applied to your situation.
It may shock u to know that there are White British citizens who can not read or write properly. A yoruba or Igbo man may struggle to write in his native language.
