Vicjustice: Justwise and Flawless, Could you please explain what i seem not to be getting right here? Now, Fishbook claims to be a holder of a 5years "Dependant Visa" through her brother, this makes me understand that she is more or less a minor, and now, she is talking about her fiance coming to the UK. How about that, are adults eligible for dependant visas in the UK, no age limit? In Ireland, a person can not get dependant visa once s/he is over 16, and also, except under compelling reason on humanitarian grounds, and there exist an explicitly formal legal custody, a person is not eligible to adopt his/her sister as a dependant. How about the UK? Vicjustice i understand where u coming from, i saw that the first time i read the post BUT i did not want to dig deep into it b4 i will be accused of being 'Mr i too know or know it all'. Reading in between the lines in her post, i don't think she came as a 'sister' to her brother, maybe as a wife or legal partner'. . some sort of an arrangement. . my opinion anyway. |

amydonics: Yes bro. Electricity is the basis. If the is constant electricity in Nigeria just tell me what you cant go into in terms of steady business. If is Production,it will be at a reduced and affordable cost, food stuff,Enginering just name it. Even IT,Education,Teachnology,Banking anything just tell me So the issue of security can be discarded? Armed robbers killing with impunity? Going to bank to being a nightmare, yes Nigeria can be a great place and by God's grace we will get there but lets not pretend as if things are good. |

okay. Give it a try. Is that all u need to make it in Nigeria? |

amydonics: There are no better greener pasture out that here at home,If we put half of the effort we put outside in this country i believe we become the best country in the whole world.First of all do have something you know how to do very well. Do you have a better knowledge of what you said you can do. have you put small effort to make it know to people that you are good at this. and many more if you need them, You can become what ever you want to become if you can give your self time. All you said sounds great but you have to also remember that u don't live in island of ur own, you can't make it easily in a hostile environment, business don't flourish in an insecured environment, where some basic infustractures are lacking. |

fishhooks: Thank you Justwise. I have got a 5 year EU dependent visa which I am 2 years into. I got it by virtue of my brother who’s an EU citizen. I am entitled to work and all but not sure if that’s as far as my rights go. It’s very difficult getting information on this. Oh ok! i get what u mean, but ur hubby can still visit u on visitor's visa if u work and can afford to invite him on ur own capacity though he may not be able to work, I hope somebody here could help. |

fishhooks: In Nigeria. My fiance is in Nigeria and has never travelled but he is thinking of coming in April by God's grace. We were thinking of doing everything at once, i.e. registry, church, engagement all at once to make it look credible. If you are British or have indefinate stay and u got married to him in Nigeria then u are entitled to file for him. Like you pointed out there, u have to do everything right to avoid any problem with the visa application process. B4 i forget, when u said u are on dependent visa , do u mind throwing more light on that? |

I need advice please. I am currently on a dependent visa which was got through my brother but the issue now is that I am getting married and would like to know if I am entitled to file for my husband. I have trawled the internet looking for information but can’t find anything and would appreciate if anyone who has had this experience can inform me. Where are u getting married, in the UK or where? |

prestigejayjay: @Justwise and Zibby, I really find your contribution helpful. I have mailed the Workshop Organiser to try to send an Invitation Letter to me, but not yet hear from them. because all they are saying before is that I should go and apply and see that I am granted before they can accept any booking from me. Now I have let them realise that there is no way I can apply for VISA without the Invitation letter from them. Still waiting for their reply. Thanks a lot Don't blame the organisers, they are trying to avoid been used as a gateway to the UK, many pple get the workshop IV, get the visa and never turn up, some go as far as selling that IV to as many pple as possible, flooding the embassy with photo copies of IV from the same organiser. So organisers are being careful thesedays. I hope urs works out. Good luck |

I hope that the proposal doesn't go ahead, if it does, then there are pple who will be devastated cos they are here already hoping to apply for PSW after graduation.
People will still come to the UK to study though, especially those who are on study-leave with a good job in Nigeria as well as those from a wealthy family who are sure of walking into a job the moment they go back to Nigeria |

sandysprax: Hi nairalanders, pls i am about applying for my masters in the U.K.The thing is,an agency has asked me to pay #90,000 for processing the admission and Visa.Am wondering why i have to spend so much money when i can apply to the university directly through their website. Is there actually any difference btw applying directly to the university and applying through an agency? You can do EVERYTHING concerning the admission urself, even better than the agent, let me put it this way. . if u can't do it urself then u are not ready to study abroad. You can ask questions here in NL in any area that is not clear with the admission processes or visa, but u do not need an agent. |

GZexports: @ justwise, our clientele does not include "desperate Nigerians" as you termed it.,,,,,,, thanks for your concerns Any serious Nigerian business man or woman who intend to go for a business trip wouldn't need dodgy IV, the individual can get it from his or her business partner. |
Travel › Re: Lets Talk About It - Business Invitations To Europe by justwise(mod): 12:32pm On Feb 02, 2011 |
GZexports:
@ justwise if 200 people demand an IV, we would gladly issue them . . . that explain why embassies don't have much respect for IVs. Foreign companies or businesses don't just issue IVs to strangers, they issue it to pple they have dealings or some sort of business relationships with. The individual submitting that IV to the embassy should be able to answer one or two questions about that company likewise, the company should know who is using their IV. What some of u so called agents do is to sell these IVs (photo copies) to desperate Nigerians who want to leave Nigeria by all means and very very few of them if any will be issued visa. |
