Zuha: For all I know, there is nothing like Tier 1 student and Tier 2 student. Their is Tier 1 post study work and Tier 2 is an employer sponsored work permit which is like the American H1B visa which restricts you to working for only one employer.
Like I said before, how many 9ja graduates have been sponsored for the Tier 2 visa? What percentage do they constitute of all the 9ja grads from British schools? Just to correct a wrong impression, the Tier 2 visa is not for exceptional talents as Tensor has been saying here. The exceptional talents is a Tier 1 category and you really have to be exceptional to apply for it (see my link above). The Tier 2 visa depends on the resident labour market test which means that the home office will only grant the visa if no one else in the UK or the EU is suitably qualified for the job. I still maintain my stand. Spot on. |

tensor777: Yes. A post -study work category of the Tier 1 visa is a transitional route to allow the most talented non-EEA nationals graduating from UK universities to transfer to a work or study visa. Where are u getting ur info? Again, there is nothing like Tier 2 students. |

kmoney82: @ justwise thanks for the response, I've travelled to the uk more than 5times on a visit visa, infact my current visit visa is valid till 2014, do u know if dis affects the processing time in anyway cause I learnt it faster for regular travellers to the uk, thanks As long as u have't committed any immigration offence on your travels then u got nothing to worry about. They can only judge u now based on student visa requirements first b4 your immigraation history. If u met all the requirements then relax |

tensor777: You say things have changed right? Yes when it comes to Tier 2 students. But when we get down to brass tacks has anthing changed for Tier 1 students? At the moment no, but we will all have to wait until April to see if the Government manitains the opportunity given to international newly graduated students to apply for a 2 year post work study visa. That really is the crux of the matter and the whole tipping point of this drawn-out debate. My own gut instnct is that they will maintain the status quo. We just have to wait and see. Anything like that for students? |

mairodi: Zimbabwe is not as bad as you think people. The infastructure is fantastic, the roads maintained, state of the art malls, our universities are full of foreign nationals because of our level of education. We have good schools and there are opportunities for good jobs in this country. Yes, we have had our fair share of political problems but things are not as bad as they seem. Propaganda makes every country seem dirt poor but that not the case. Please google pics of Harare and U will be amazed at its beauty, sky scrapers, cleaniless etc. We have so many Nigerian nationals doing thrift business in our country because the opportunities are there. They live in beautiful safe leafy suburbs ( with running water, ) or mod duplex flats. Most of them have made Zimbabwe their home. l I totally agree with u, i have lived in Zimbabwe, went to school there and i had mad fun and still keep in contact with some of my crazy mates there. I love that country. |
@ luv4all2nv, my friend also applied the same period and ws refused fr having insufficient funds when all her accounts was in tact. the 'ECO' refused her application because her school ws supposedly located within inner London when it ws actuali outer London. her school resumes Jan 31st so she ws advised to reapply, also strongly stating the error as justwise suggested in the addtional info column of tha application form. She just got clearance entry on friday. so since time is nt on your side, its best you reapply as soon as you can. u can state the reason as ECO error in your next application. Goodluck!!!
@ justwise, thank you for your help. my friend got her entry clearance on friday. Happy New Yr 2 u!!!
