My brother leave them, I don't need to argue with them, I have had first hand experience for years and I know what I'm saying but it seems they might not want any additional information as they know everything the high commission wants. Even when I said tax document makes one look like a good citizen and helps an applicant, they are still arguing, smh

That is just false, you don't get a visa by being a good citizen or paying tax to Nigerian govt. You get a visa by meeting visa requirements and submitting tax paper as an employee is not a requirement.

It does not need to make sense to you,but it does make sense to those who are in it, ask around to know how many people always have their tax and pensions deducted from source monthly nut there are no evidence of remittance, they usually don't know these sharp practices until when they need a tax clearance or out of their job and wanting to access their pension.

@justwise,you need ti admit you don't know it all, there are one million and one things you don't know and you need ti admit and let go when people come up with superior argument backed by facts and figures..Shalom

You don't have any argument in this particular issue let a lone a supper one.

The embassy is not the Nigerian tax force, so whether your company remitted tax paid as an employee or not its not their business

Please do you mean we don't need to submit any evidence of tax payment before we can get a UK visa? Are you aware that a company could be deducting tax from one's gross and reflect it on the pay slip without remitting same to the government?

That is not embassy's business.

Thanks @Justwise the OP should be bettter informed now with your clarifications on tax clearance certificate.
This is not actually an issue to be argued about as its very clear that the embassy will not refuse an applicant who is employed a visa because of tax paper. Your pay slip shows how much tax you have paid and all other details.

@justwise, Ekpotek and others, God bless your good work..

please I need your response on this.. I submitted my visa application on the 23rd of May and got an email on 12 of June (14working days) stating that :

"Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible."

Please my question is that, how many more days will I still need to wait more?

Does it mean I will wait for another 15 working days or 3weeks or month?

Please who as received such email before and how many days did the decision finally came out?

Hope they won't delay and hold my passport up till July ooh ?

I am kind of bothered Becos I have an appointment with the USA embassy on the 11th of July for my masters program and I will be needing my passport to get my Visa.

Thanks and God bless
You just have to be patient and wait for them to finish the process, there is nothing you or anybody can do to make it faster.

@justwise @expotek. You are all right and this dude is also spot on, Tax deduction on payslip does not mean your company remit same, anyone can come up with figurea on any paper, but when you remit, whatever you remit for the remitted month will reflect on your TCC card issue by LASG. and that card can not be forged to the best of my knowledge,I have friends who are well granded in tax matter. ....this guy is right
I'm sorry but this makes no sense.

What is not true, I'm saying I worked with VFS at Ajose Adeogun and Oregun Billings way, since 2007 March when the process commenced and some people even with payslips were refused for not submitting authentic tax clearance

Do you know that I can get my company to print a made up payslips which isn't actually what I earn, but with a tax clearance the high commission has a way of verifying it? , you can continue giving your advice. I never quoted anyone and said what he or she said was wrong, continue Sir, I'm loyal. I never meant to interfere, is just that when I see people come back with refusal I am touched but ride on, you guys rule here.
Let me just make one thing very clear here, in this particular issue you are misleading people, tax certificate/clearance is not needed as an employee, only self employed/business owners submit such documents for visa application.

Your employer don't pay you gross salary, they deduct the tax then you get net salary which is stated in your payslip, so the embassy don't need any tax document from you.

Refusal as a result of not submitting an authentic document is not the issue here.
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(mod): 1:27pm On Jun 13, 2017
travelland:
Let's not argue about this, VFS is not the embassy but we were taught and know what the embassy requires because we were the ones who collect the documents from applicants, we worked with the checklist and when they are refused they come back to us to resubmit so you can't tell me we will not be in a good place to know what the embassy wants.

While working some of us employees had tax clearance cards, if one includes it, this helps in making his status as an employee more authentic in case they may be having doubts as payslips can be manipulated but they have a way of verifying the authenticity of a tax card

You've made your point and I've made mine, the OP can chose to pick which one he wants.
That is not true, your payslip shows all that.

dcutey:
Travelland is absolutely right, payment of tax shows that one is law abiding and will improve chances of getting a visa.
Only when you are self employed, as an employee applying for visa you don't need to show any tax paper because your salary is taxed already and your payslip shows that anyway.

Hi everyone, you don't need to pay anyone money to get visa on arrival. Kindly go to the immigration website, apply and pay online. When you arrive Nigeria, show your receipt and the visa will be given to your LO. Or you can apply and pay in cash or with your card when you arrive. There is just a slight $10 difference when paying in cash.
zmoney:
Please can someone kindly explain how to go about this visa on arrival for LO?
I'm sorry but I'm still a bit confused. Would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Good morning everyone, I am a new member of this forum and I would like to ask few questions as I am 8 months gone. I am currently in Europe with a valid temporary resident permit and I just started considering giving birth in the state.
1. What are my chances of getting a visa as I am 8 months gone.
2. Should I tell the VO I am going for child birth or just family visit because I have an invitation from my sis in law.
3. Like how many weeks do i need in total (booking an interview appointment, getting the visa and leaving for the state).
Less I forget, I am a new mum and a first time mum. Your advice and contributions will be highly appreciated. Hope to read from you all soonest. Thank you.
No don't tell the truth, just pray, God pass those VOs.

Am a graduate with BSc certificate who intend leaving Nigeria to further my education and as well secure a work permit (Canada or Australia my preferred choice). I recently got in touch with this traveling agent, who promised to assist me in my applications and as well securing a student Visa in either Canada or Australia. The problem here is that the agent is demanding a total sum of 2.5m to assist me with my Visa application. Am totally confused at the moment with regards to the authenticity of these agents. Is it advisable for me to make the financial commitment? He's already requesting for my information like TRANSCRIPT to kick start my visa application and necessary documentation. Please help a friend! Nairaland has always been there for me. I need your sincere advice here as am stuck. Thanks...

Please the gurus in the house particularly those on Germany already, kindly advise me:
1. Does it worth it moving whole family to join you and live permanently in Germany, as my main motive was not the study perse but to use the route to permanently migrate along with my whole family?
2. I am likely to receive positive feedback from the schools I applied to anytime soon. My question is for those like me with no 8000 euro and no relative or friend to do sponsorship, are there ways around this. Because I usually believe EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
3. Is it wise to leave a job that offers 250k per month and leave for Deutschland in search of greener pasture via schooling route?

4. Assuming I eventually succeed in leaving for Germany, how easy and soon can I process visa for my wife and kids to join me there as it would be suicidal to live without them.

Thanks.
If you were single I would have adviced you to give it a try but as a married man with kids and a good job.. think long and hard about this, you are about to probably destabilise your family and your career.

If this is a genuine study venture then it worth a shot but leaving an above average job and family to hustle in Germany makes no sense.

Good luck

I wonder why it is called "letter of intent" then..the vo saying the letter doesnt mean a thing is a good way of disuading dishonest people..but fr those who honestly need the letter can go ahead and send it
People came up with that term here, never a visa requirement whatsoever, just as the term: 'burden of proof' was originated here.

B1/B2 visa allows the holder to receive medical treatment while in US, so there is no need sending letter of change of intent if you want to receive medical treatment.

However, when lying comes naturally to many during visa interview sending a letter of change of intent means nothing.

You are very correct.

2014, my wife and I went for a visa interview and was asked if she was pregnant, we said no, but she was actually pregnant. We were not properly informed and thought the easiest way was to lie about it. We wrote the normal ''letter of change of intent'' and got a reply that it was OK for us to travel. When u got to the POE, the CBP officer didn't say anything about the letter and we were stamped in for 6 months... Fast forward to 2016, we did a dropbox for visa renewal but was invited for an interview. The first question we were asked was, '' did you (my wife) give birth in the US?'' We said yes, and went further to expalain we paid all our bills and have zero balance,...bal bla bla.. he just said we were not eligible for a visa because we lied about our intent of travelling. We told him that we wrote to the embassy before travelling, he said '' those letters mean nothing to us''....

So please, do yourself some good and don't lie about your travel intentions.. It will somehow, someday bite you when you least expect.
I have read many stories like that here and many people here arguing against it are doing so because the issue was brought by TWoods (their common enemy), not because they truly believed that letter of change of intent worth anything when you lied during visa interview

@Twoods.

Please stop misleading people. I just came back from the US leaving my wife behind to have our baby.

My firsthand expereince;

Before the trip, I sent a letter of intent to the US Consulate and got the usual response.

At JFK POE; once the CBP officer took my wife's finger print. He told my wife that it was a good thing she already sent a letter of intent to the US consulate notifying them about her intention to give birth in the US. He was very pleased and stamped us in without further questions.

We were both surprised the information was actually recorded in the system.

We are all adults. Please leave people alone to do what suits them and what they can defend. You live in the US and don't know what travellers encounter just to cross the US border.

Do you really have problem with people coming to the US?

He is not misleading anybody. VO has said it over and over again that letter of intent means nothing.

Sometimes here people just jump on people they don't like without reading properly. Were your wife pregnant during the interview and lied about it then send letter of intent after getting the visa?
