Some ideological trends are difficult to reverse. Afterall, Hitler convinced Germans that jews were the cause of their problems. He and Boris by ensuring Brexit were huge blessings to the Nigerian community here. My small 9ja community balooned last year. We don get African shop join sef.

One thing I still dont get is why they have allowed immigration be a main issue at every election in recent memory when it's super easy to curb. Already, the birth rate is well below replacement rate plus with a good number of Brits ('expats' hehe) emigrating yearly, the population would naturally fall. On top of that, just end PSW visas for new entrants, a 20-30% levy on fees students coming over, end the care visa route and stop the NHS from employing oversees health workers and boom! Population drops, housing becomes cheap, stew everywhere! Japan is a shining example.

I wonder how every government over the last 20 years + have struggled to achieve what could be sorted in an afternoon. As I keep singing, the UK has never willfully chosen immigration. It's when looking down the loaded barrel of economic decline that they do- not out of want, but need.
I know the answer to that question...£3.3 billion

That is how much immigrants contributes to public finance annually. If they cut immigration, they cut their source of income.

So its either they cut immigration and increase taxes or they reduce taxes, get more immigrants in for cheap labour and finance social services.

I learnt something. Don't give too much information at all. I didn't give any explanation letter. In my visa section form for, I just kept I was denied due to insufficient Data. I have 3 sisters in the uk I only mentioned one and filled one person information. Don't give any long stories. Have sufficient money and submit the necessary documents
Explanation letter helps when you have issues with e.g your bank statement or transactions that might look fishy, mistake in any of your documents..wrong DOB etc, always use extral paper to explain that, don't leave for case worker to fingure it out.

It may be a question of access to abortion and contraception. Some people are 1 issue voters. They ll rather vote for a r****t ,felon and fraudster than accept a person's right to choose. Also LGBTQ . I would like to ask those "Christians" what would Jesus do if he met a gay man? What about "love your neighbour as yourself"?

For others, it's immigration. Trump is a well known racist so they ll follow him to the ends of the earth.
Trump is a grifter and has always been all his life, these so called christians knew this but still lick his boots. So embarrassing to say the least

Oga what do you mean? [b]What has religion got to do with politics?
. Is America not supposed to be a “Christian” country?. Or is trump a Muslim or Buddhist? Why shouldn’t Christians support trump?. ….

Did trump come from a foreign planet ? Was he not elected as the republican candidate ?. Where were those morally upright republicans when trump wriggled his way to power?. Americans were tired of the BS from democrats hence they flung to the MAGA SAGA…..
Everything, i mean i can't believe that you asked that question, about 80% of evangelical Christians voted for Trump, a guy that bragged openly about how he sexually assaulted women, a guy that slept with a porn star while the wife was pregnant, a guy that scammed a lot of people through his non-existing University, a guy that lies for a living. I understand that Christianity these days got little to do with good moral standard or Christ-like behaviour, its all about money and cult of personality.

Morally upright republicans have left the party because they don't want to be associated with the party anymore.

Are we talking Trumpism which is the republican party today
or the republican party before Trump?
That one, republican political party before MAGA has some decency, some sort of moral, some individuals with digity THEN Trump steps in the party went to the dogs.

Its even shocken that majority of Christains are supporting Trump, not only in America even in Africa, Nigeria in particular.

Mr Justwise .

Stop deleting my post. I thought you are voted as unbias and non tribalistic MOD ?

This chidiakwari is discouraging people to seek for genuine and available opportunities in the United States and what i posted was to open the eyes of the understanding of the OP. Please stop deleting my post in order to give opportunity for another. Nobody works inside the embassy on nairaland so no one should give absolute decision like a god here.
Mr CNNalhaji

chidiakwari and many others here are telling the op the truth while you are encouraging the abuse of the system, the op is not entited to seek puplic fund from American tax payers. If you can not afford to give birth in US then don't start the process but if you ran into financial difficties after giving birth then arrange for payment plan with the hospital.

And finally stop insulting people because they did not share you view on this issue. I have zero time for that.

https://www.withersworldwide.com/en-gb/insight/read/investment-treaties-and-their-role-in-protecting-chinese-businesses-abroad-zhongshan-v-nigeria-award
An interesting section from this case reads:

“Nigeria’s efforts to dismiss these charging orders failed as Master Sullivan in her judgement, held that the properties are leased to residential tenants and that no “consular activities are actually taking place on the premises”.

So basically Nigerian government bought those houses in Liverpool in the name of high commission and for diplomatic activities but rent it out to individuals?

I won't allow them bully me, so they started calling on you when they couldn't take the same measure of heat I reciprocated to them.
I;m not sure about that, i have gone through some of the exchanges you had with people here and you did not respond politely in some cases

Many here are actually trying to help you with some vital info that will help you as you prepare to land.

A lot of people here are actually doing pretty well for themselves, only here to share their experiences for everyone to benefit.

So if you asked me i will say...take a deep breath.

@Justwise,
Welcome back. Glad you are back. I (we) missed you.

Your absence (and explanation) has provided an insight into how Nairaland is run.
So the moderators & super mods do not have any means of communication with the Oga @ the top except via emails?

So all the mentions of the other mods, enquiring about you did not yield anything?

The sudden silence made me to fear the worst. I honestly thought something much bigger had happened to you. Well, welcome back.

PS: I sincerely entertained the thought that you had probably hibernated the Justwise persona, and reincarnated in another form (Most likely as Kumbhuru) to give us all a taste of what the thread would feel like, without a moderator.

My brother, Nnoo
I'm not sure about supermods AND other mods but personally that is the fact.

I saw those mentions when i logged back yesterday and i honestly appreciate every single person that asked and seek to know my whereabout.

I received a lot emails from some nairalanders but i could not reply because that email address was spoofed by a nairalander some yrs back, So i don't like replying emails from my inbox, i reply through my nairaland profile.
