Yes some may have some level of education but vast majority of them don't but that did not stop them from making a living.

got my new passport on 11th April travelled on 12th. pretty close

Notice on the day of collection some people were not given, even though they've paid- something about Abuja not giving them permission or with-holding their passport. Apparently some issues to do with their previous application or their fingerprint/face not matching

I was lucky then because mine took 3 weeks and I got it posted to my address because I submitted prepaid envelope

same here- mine was this year March, your appointment date is on the acknowledgement form already under processing information

Also booked an appointment for my mum last week.

You dont need to book a separate appointment on their website- the website is pretty static for information use only

That makes a lot of sense.

I want to apply for visitors visa to SA, i have studied the requirements and discovered i am short of a job and a good statement of account , i really do not know what to do at this point, i have gone through the thread for similar situation and solution, but found nothing to relate with. My option now is to use an agent for fake documentation, which i truly i'm not happy about, but i dont know what else to do or how to go about it. Any advice or assistance will be appreciated.

I wonder if anyone can help, or at least give some advice.

Trying to renew the passport after 5 years at the NHC in London, however after going through the instructions (at http://www.nigeriahc.org.uk/passport-requirements), having printed the application form, the acknowledgement slip, and the payment confirmed slip, I then proceed to http://nhc.3tb.co/ where an appointment is supposed to be booked per the instructions at the Nigerian High Commission website, even though a date has already been given automatically on the payment confirmed slip, but per the instructions I will not be allowed in the building without the printouts of the application form, acknowledgement slip, payment confirmed slip, and appointment date.

This is where I have reached a brick wall, as the site http://nhc.3tb.co/ states clearly in red scrolling text that "Please note the embassy no longer accepts appointments booked using this website".

Any attempt to select an appointment I am met with an error that "The application ID must be 7 characters long", when the application ID per the application form, acknowledgement slip, and payment confirmed slip is 8 characters long, so it simply will not allow me to submit an appointment, not to mention that warning in scrolling text.

All attempts to contact the NHC have been met with no response.

I certainly don't want to travel all the way to London on the date on my payment confirmed slip, only to be told to go back as I don't have an appointment date.

Has anyone successfully booked an appointment with the NHC per its instructions on it's website recently?

I would be very interested on suggestions as to where to go from here.

This is new to me, when I went there last May I did not book appointment from that website, it was generated automatically after payment just like you did. I bought the postal order and went for submission on the date stated on my payment slip.

Apologies for removing your reply to violina, this thread is purely DIY so the issue of agent is completely out of it.

We can not discuss the use of agent or recommend any to anyone here.

Please I have started reading the thread from the first that started up in 2011, but for fear I may not get to see what I want (which would be bad), I have decided to ask a question here so as to fast track getting the required info. Please direct me to the page that:

1. Explains how to fill the long term visa (student).

2. Tells of all the documents one should take to. Student visa interview.

3. Tells if one needs to purchase a flight ticket before the interview.

4. Tells of the questions one going for a student visa should prepare for.
