affinity? Hehe ask anybody that frequents the rapsection. Coogar have never been my closest pal. If i respect any body there, they are Ibime and kr0ne. It is very clear! I can dig up links where i had my own share of insults from coogar. I mean where he insulted my parents, my future and evrything i cherish. But then, i do not take online beef seriously. I have adviced coogar to pay and free himself from this. I even said it here that he's guilty.
Forget coogar's behaviour online. Someone said offline, he's begging. He might have admitted but will act like he didnt when he comes online.
What exactly is your point? You are clearly a sympathise no point trying to explain this away. Stop giving excuses for heinous crime like this

CC fraud is not like 419 where people try to claim money from non-existing dead uncle, cc victims are not greedy they are innocent victims. If coogar is truly into cc as alleged then he is heartless. Nothing like nigga gotto to do what he gotto do to survive...this is stealing from innocent people.

Your old passport has been cancelled without prejudiced, it is no longer valid for travel.

Contact DIBP ASAP to transfer your visa to the new passport.
That is not true, all he needs to do is to carry both passports and present both at the POE. The visa on the cancelled passport is still valid

Hello E- Fam.
I need your advice on what to do on this situation.
I applied for a new passport and I got it the next day as my old passport will expire in May, 2016 (6 months from now). The issue now is I got my visa grant with my old passport while the new passport has a different number. Now, I have both passport with me but the the pages left on my old passport have been cancelled. The immigration officer said I can't hold 2 passports so he cancelled all the pages left in the old passport but I still have the two with me. Fam I hope I won't have any problem with all these changes at the point of entry and do I need to contact DIBP office in Pretoria. Pls I need y'all response. 2posh, Eric, Chi05, futuredon etc
You have nothing to worry about, you can carry both passport while you travel. Cancel without prejudice is normal and will not affect the visa on it.

@justwise you absolutely right, and I really appreciate your contribution, when I was in the uni we had a discussion about factors that are mitigating against development in Africa and we concluded that there was low trade among African countries, the world is not a safe place, but my argument buttress on the fact that the third world countries do not receive the same cooperation economically, politically and technologically.

Third world countries do but the problem is that while the West put the interest of their own citizens first during and after negotiation our own govt put their own personal interest and that of their friends and families first hence the reason why ordinary African don't feel the benefit of our dealings with outside world.

Hello all, pls I have a question. I know that one can have a Dr's correspondence and port to another Doc.
Now, assume u use Dr X correspondence for visa interview and u now want to present Dr Y correspondence @ POE, hope d CBP officer won't flag it, as in won't they see in their system that Dr X is where u said u want to go? Esp if one is slightly over the weeks old Dr X would accept according to his correspondence.
Possible red flag if spotted at POE especially if verification shows that you had Dr Y's correspondence before the interview.

The advance countries visa policy is just a rip off, especially USA and UK the so called global powers are in forerunner of this exploitative tendency.
China won't even collect money from you until you are issued a visa, USA visa fees is also exorbitant at almost 40k, so so so sad that this foreign countries sees third world countries as a market to generate money from visa applications.

I continue to confirm and agree to the fact that the Continued unwarranted restrictions of third world countries is a form of discrimination and segregation which is used as a means of controlling third world countries psychologically.

If Britain, USA, and most EU countries open their boarders today for third world countries, I won't believe every youth will pack their bags and baggages to live there forever when they know they can enter and exit at anytime.

But the continued restriction makes the place so desirable, to the extent when some minority of people enter the country legally or illegally they don't want to live.

Visa policy system protects countries national boarders but it also has lots of political, economical, technological and psychological undertone.

Do u agree with this assertion?

Don't forget I understand quite alright the need for nations to protect and pursue there national interest, pride and prestige. And some people will insist we develop our economy too but the truth is that we would achieve greater and faster development when there is equality and openness amongst the have and the have not.
Thank u ,leave your comment, and no attack on my personality I am entitled to my own opinion, you have the right to agree or disagree....
Can a Nigerian and some other Africans travel to South Africa, Egypt, Namibia etc without a visa? You focused your attention to West why within Africa we don't have free movement. This is the problem i have with some of us Africans, we are so quick to blame the West for one problem or the other but deliberately refused to acknowledge our own short comings.

Western countries need a visa to visit Nigeria and our embassies around the world treat them the way they treat us at their embassies in Nigeria.

I disagree with your assertion, open border is not an option again even within EU because the world is not a safe place anymore and countries need to check who comes in and out of their countries.

My main concern now is not the initial denial, but the delayed response from the second application we made for him.

its taken longer than the 5 working days (its 9 working days gone already) for priority processing and i haven't even gotten any notification that it has been received by the UK Visas and immigration. Tickets have been purchased for next week.

When we made the first application which was not priority, we got our visas within 10 working days.
That time scale is not always followed strictly, for some people it take a lot longer.

@Justwise

please i need help/advise

I applied for UK visa with my spouse and two children to attend my graduation. we were all given visas with the exception of my son (aged 4)who was refused a visa (He has traveled to the UK before oo). His sibling aged 6 months was given visa. we included birth certificates and all necessary documentation. In view of the graduation date, we applied for him again and paid for priority processing which is supposed to take 5 working days. however it is 9 working days now and we are yet to get any response.

More worrisome is the fact that last notification i got, which was the day after we applied was "Your UK visa application has now been sent to UK Visas & Immigration for processing". i haven't gotten any other notification, i even went to the VI center to check whether it was ready and i just didn't get any notification, to no avail.

My travel date is in a few days time and i have bought our tickets.

What can i do?

Please help me.

This was the reason given (verbatim) for the visa refusal

I have refused your application for a visit visa beavsue i am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraphs 4.2(a), (b) and (e) and 4.11 of Appendix V: Immigration rules for visitors because
In consideraing your application, i am mindful of your age and also aware that the UK border agency has a duty of care for child welfare under section 55 of Borders citizenship and immigration rAct. it is therefore imperative i be fully satisfied with your reception and care arrangements in the UK for you. i also need to be fully satisfied that your welfare needs are met once the child arrives in the UK. in deciding to refuse your application, i have noted the following:

you are proposing to visit the United Kingdom with your father and mother. i note that no original birth certificate has been submitted for you, medical records, family pictures or school reports to confirm relationship

i am therefore not satisfied that you meet all the requirements of paragraphs 4.2(a), (b) and (e) and 4.11 of Appendix V:
Did you submit those documents?

Hi gurus justwise frontpagel etc Im having difficulties filling my tourist visa. Form. I will like you to advise or suggest best answers to this questions baring in mind that I have studied , NIved and worked in the uk on tier 4 and post study visa and came back home just before it ran out. Here are the questions im struggling with . 1. Do you have a uk NI number and what is the reason for getting it? Yes I had one and I know you need an NI number to work so wondering the best reason to state. 2. Do you have a relative in the uk and will you be visiting or staying with them. I have a brothet doing his phd in the uk and I will visit him as im going to the same city he lives in but I will stay in a hotel with my toddler . im wondering if he has to write an invitation letter if i answer yes to this question. 3 . Have you received medical treatment in the uk ,Did you pay for medical treatment and when did. reatment start and end? Honestly I dont know what to say here cos i dont remember hiw many times i wemt or even the dates. I remember we dont pay for consultation but in england I paid for medication. 5.
1. Yes and why? To be able to work part time.

2. Yes I do but I will not be staying with him as I have booked hotel accommodation but will visit him.

3. If you have say yes and explain what sort of treatment and how much you paid.

All the above questions are testing your honesty and integrity, giving misleading info is just waste of time because they will still find out if they want.

Please mark the main phrase in his post, a few years ago. Post 2012, securing a job in the UK for an international students has increased in difficulty.

I rest my case. And yes, studying in the UK gave me access to the Australian labour market, imagine what studying in Australia itself has to offer.
Then it's hypocritical of you for warning others not to come to the UK to study.

I've been occasionally checking out this thread for months, but avoid commenting.

I'd like to contribute my small opinions.

I was a Nigerian student in UK a few years ago. I was here on a full PG scholarship, and a good one. They paid on time, rarely delayed, and the amount was enough for me to not work.

I also got a good job and started work immediately I finished my degree. I have friends, who got their PG degrees before and after me, that also found work in UK too. In fact, it was through the advice of one of the older guys that I was able to get my job.

I'm willing to offer any assistance and answer questions that anyone may wish to personally ask.

Cheers.
Thank God he did not tell you not to come to the UK because there is no job and the govt don't like foreign students.

GeneralShepherd:
Please, unless you are on scholarship, do not come and study in the UK. The government in the UK do not like international students and it is virtually impossible to get a job when you graduate.

For me the essence of international education is to gain some international working experience before you return to your home country.

Please go and study in Canada, Australia or New Zealand. I am saying this from experience

Australia is so accommodating that an engineering graduate from the UK is eligible to apply for an 18 month temporary graduate work permit.

DisGuy:
Congrats in advance...
Would you say your UK degree played a part in securing a 'better' job or it wasnt/hasnt been an essential part of your applications?

Actually, GeneralShepherd is right, and it's not fair that he is being insulted for expressing his opinion in a public forum. I also share the same opinion as well, and I think this issue should be continuously flogged regardless of how many times it has been flogged in the past. The positives and the negatives of living and working in the diaspora should be spoken about, and then people should be allowed to make their own informed decisions. These views do not constitute thread derailment, it fits into the key objectives of this thread i.e. giving advice to intending immigrants on how good or bad living in the diaspora is.
I have to disagree with you here, its very misleading to be peddling one side of a situation, you don't tell somebody don't come to the UK because the U.K govt don't like foreign students, that is misleading. Not everybody is coming to the UK to settle down or stay back to look for job, some want to study and go home, some come and still get a job after graduation.

GeneralShepherd graduated and got a job in Australia with his UK qualification, has the UK not benefited him? So why not allow others to take the same step and see what is out there for them?
