Have you renewed it before? If no then you can renew it now.

dangerzone: Thank you justwise, what I mean is that my passport will expire in 10months time, but the minimum visa I'm expecting on it is 2 years,do u think extension is what I should go for?
You don't need to extend it before applying for visa, you can extend it anytime in Nigeria or outside Nigeria even with the visa on it.

Is this the first extension?
Travel › Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by justwise(mod): 12:12pm On Dec 09, 2012
Gloria Gordon: Hello everybody I cannot figure out how to post my own post here, and clicked a 'reply' button.

I applied for a general visitor to visit my common law partner who is a British citizen but been refused.

Here is the decision of the refusal -

"You are currently unemployed in ********, but have saving and property. Your wish to visit you partner, (name), for five weeks. I noted that Mr.(name) although British, resides in Canada. I note
you previously held refugee status in Canada and were removed. You were recently refused entry clearance to join your partner by the Canadian Immigration Authorities and await the outcome of you appeal. Mr. (name) is now temporarily residing with his mother in the UK in an attempt to meet you.
On the balance of probabilities, I cannot be satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period not exceeding 6 months or that you intend to leave United Kingdom at the end of the visit as required by Paragraph 41(i) and (ii) of the Immigration Rules HC395."

I got a GV51(LRA) form of refusal with limited rights of appeal. But I know that I can appeal with limited rights on human rights grounds and will ask embassy for the form IAFT-2.

Can anybody comment this - under what paragraphs breaches of human rights this appeal can go?

As this refusal is based on the fact that I was deported from Canada and recently I was refused visa for permanent residence to Canada to re-join my partner. We have appealed against this and now awaiting for an appeal hearing in Canada.

And we just wanted to meet each other in UK for a Christmas. We submitted a good and a full package of documents and there was not any mention that something else was wrong. I have not broke any U.K. either Canadian immigration law. I left Canada when all the legal opportunities were exhausted. It seems odd that I was refused on a base of my previous refusal and deportation which was not from U.K.
Could be so that I am wrong? Do anybody has a knowledge regarding this.
Thank you.
Common law partner has no legal recognition, so technically you are both singles, the immigration law that applies to couples living together or engaged does not apply to you.

As you are given limited right to appeal....that actually means that you got no right to appeal at all, you are free to go for case review which is free.

I don't see you winning the review case though, your Canadian immigration history did not do you any favour couple with the fact that the person you tend to visit in the UK is not legally married to you or have a place of his own at the moment.

The outcome of the Canadian appeal case will change everything...if it goes on your favour.

If you don't want to be banned here then stop dropping that 'agent' number. stop encouraging people to contact some dubious agents, i know who owns that number, don't try to be smart.

okeytimi: I explain in my first thread that i returned to my home country before the date for the court because the immgration officer who attended to me advice me to do so cos i might be detained and deported. Also the tribunal also affirm that the eco officer was wrong to have denied me based on the pending.it all went wrong when my second appeal was messd up by the lawyer who refuse to contact me untill the time lapses.I contacted a uk immigration officer who said i can apply for a family visit but my intention must be explain.pls. advice on the intention if you can pls.for the rest i know what to do thanks.
This is not really going to go away until you clear those issues then apply for visa, you can't have criminal cases hanging around your neck and expected to be given a visa.

You are even better-off without that lawyer because he is the only one benefiting from this as stretches.
Travel › Re: Travel Section Complaints Thread: Report To Moderators (SOS) by justwise(mod): 10:41am On Dec 08, 2012
Joe980: I gat you sir...I know this is basically for travel section. What am trying to say is bringing it down to various sections of travel forum. I don't think there is a way a candidate of our choice could dominate the entire travel section...the fact that we are limited to a candidate makes it kinda hard. For example; @Temmytanny under Dvlottery section is highly recognized but he is not known in travel to Canada section. We also have @imperiouxx under U.S.A thread doing pretty good but not known in travel to Canada and other thread as well. It takes people like me who visits various thread to appreciate their worth. My thoughts though.
You have a point, but the problem with travel section issue is that one person may not be able to help in all threads concerning different travel inquiries, people will always stick to the thread they know much about.

That said, i expected members from US, Canada and UK thread to have more votes as those threads have the highest numbers of pages and get more traffic than other threads. Its seems that US-visa lottery thread contributors are more appreciative than others, they came out in a good number to appreciate the person who has being helping them.

ictmarket: Thanks for talking polite for the first time. About the American deal like you call it, fortunately i sold all chances without getting an opportunity from naira land. For heaven sake i run a registered company deleted with our activities covering the entire electronic service, social net working deleted which i my company is proud to present as our contributions and developments in i.c.t to mention but a few. A company that has gone so far in the I.C.T world and you call me a scam. You sound like a policeman abusing human rights because of the power bestowed on him. MAKE CONFIRMATIONS BEFORE YOU CONCLUDE
I really don't know why you are here moaning, if you have 'sold' all chances and running a source full company why not face it and stop complaining? I see your adverts as fraudulent, you can not send anybody to America to live and work without paying for the visa as your advert claimed.

Your advert is not allowed here in travel section, if you want to advertise anything then pay Seun to get a place in nairaland for that.

I had to declare all of this cos they will find out anyway.can you pls also with your response.
You have issues to clear up, your chances of attending that birth day is -1, they can as well visit you to celebrate it while you use the opportunity to sort things out.

Where you charged for driving with fake driving licence? Did you pay a fine or what?

There is no need trying to sound innocent, all i did was to hide your dubious American visa deal, i did not ban you (which you deserved) Just keep it away from travel section with this ID and the other ID you use.

omega25red: There has been gentle appraoch to those who are advertising their scams on this site and to those who fall for them. All those gentle approaches didn't work because there was a time where every other day it was post after post about easy visa, live and study in ukraine, study and work in Malayaisia etc

In the same breath, many people keep coming back complaining about the bad conditions they found themselves in after being promised heaven. So Justwise decided to take up the cause of chasing away the scammers and the ignorant people who buy into the scams. Like i said a gentle approach has been tried but people only understand being hit on the head sometimes. grin

Thanks for clearing that up.
