peteafrik88: Thanx boss... You have been doing a great work here. One thing bothering me is that of accomodation. How can I secure a cheap place I can stay on arrival since I dont know anybody or friend there, from where I can now search fir a better place? I learnt from previous posts that it is cheaper and better to stay off campus, I have been thinking of how to secure a comfortable and yet inexpensive one so that I can have a place I can stay on arrival.Book for a hotel accommodation for 2days, ibis hotel in Portsmouth is just next building to Portsmouth university buildings. Walking down to fratton park area of Portsmouth and look for a house, its about 15-20mins walk from the university, many students live in those area and university bus takes student to those places free. Contact the international office and ask for the list of registered private landlords and have a look at the rooms and prices then contact them to make appointment for viewing. |
zoomzu: Thanks a lot, I would ensure to to that and also attach the Bill of Laden of each cars showing my name and address and the consignee with details of each vehicle attached to the sales agreement since I do not have a registered company name under which I sell my goods. All the very best. |
dove30: . Ohhh that's very ok and good please can I be there sponsor or can my mother sponsor them. Both, you can both submit combined documents to show that your wife and kid have the support of both sides. |
Well, do Nigerian politicians promote war as a way to achieve peace? Because that's what American do, and it's the dumbest thing on earth!
Many countries in the past have gone to war for so many reasons, not only America, the current American Govt are taking a different route in engaging in dialogue than jumping for war. If America is that bad why did you choose to study there rather than other 'peaceful' countries? Before you make any attempt to compare American politicians and Nigerian ones, take your time and visit Nigeria or read about the activities of Nigerian politicians. |
Yes, I've been to the US (if you had read carefully what I posted you would have seen that I studied there). I have never been to Nigeria, but I know there is a lot of corruption there. But I don't think American politicians are better than NIgerian politicians. Using their power to control the world: yes, American think they have to get involved in every other countries' business! They claim to do that for a better change, but actually they just serve their own economic interest. Look at what they have done in Irak, Palestine, Afghanistan. They have just destroyed these countries, and the lives of billions of innocents to serve their interest. I don't call that being intelligent! Plus America's economy is pretty much owned by China, so.... if you wanna call that smart that's your choice, but I don't!
I take that as a bad joke, i will forgive because you have never been to Nigeria and probably know little or nothing about Nigeria. |
peteafrik88: Well, I have been following this forum for sometime now. Hopefully, I intend coming to the University of Portsmouth to study a business inclined undergraduate course. By the grace of God, I should be there by january.Ask specific question and somebody will answer you, a lot of things written here already applies to almost everybody coming to the UK to study, if you haven't found any useful then ask |
dove30: I had a friend that was a student and. Wrote aletter to invite his mother come visit him last year in london I was suprised and felt he was lieing when he told me.I don't really want them to come and stay with me I just want them to have a visa that enables them to come spend some time in the uk with me.there should be a route to that. They can come and visit you on visiting visa and not dependant visa, they are two different type of visas with different entitlements |
zoomzu: @ Justwise, thanks for your response, I am thinking of filling the application by February 2013. God willing, the cars should be sold by January.Include the sale receipt and the receipt of the new car you bought so as not to give the ECO the impression that you have to sale your car to fund the trip. Don't forget to explain the source of the huge payment, those receipts will support your explanation. |
sunnydayasaba: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I NEED YOU GUYS HELP IN THIS MATTER PLEASE.You need both, you personal bank account and that of your company. Company registration certificate, letter from the company in the UK, your company's tax clearance/tax certificate...etc |
topsyking: Give me ur email make I add u..Any discussion about how he can disvirgin his passport has to be open here, others want to learn how to go about it legally. This thread will not be used for email exchange for some private chat. |
zoomzu: Experts in the House, to buttress further on my initial post directed to Justwise, I am planning to apply for Family Visiting Visa for my wife and our daughter. She's to go on the invitation of her brother in-law for Easter Holiday. I am to sponsor the trip while her brother in-law who own a permanent resident visa is to accommodate them. When do you plan to submit the application and when will the car be sold? |
dove30: Hey guys I got my student visa on monday.this is my main concern now and please I would need your ideas and assistance at this point.I would be studying my final year in ba business and marketing level 6.I have a wife and daughter.I want to use this opportunity to bring them to uk.my daughter is only 16months.they really don't mind just spending a month or few weeks with me and then they would come back to nigeria.they don't plan on leaving in the uk but if there is an opportunity for that I can talk them into it.but please what visa route do ytou think would be easy for me to use to get my wife and daughter a visaYou can only bring your family with you if you are doing a course at NQF level 7 lasting 12months or above. |
mendax: This development would not go without repercussions What would the repercussion possibly be? |
https://www.nairaland.com/1130875/why-tickets-expensive-outside-nigeria#13360122 Front page please. Urgent Topic.
I don't think that this is a FG material, price of ticket going up during xmas is normal, not just ticket, price of everything goes up during this time. |

zoomzu: @ Justwise, thanks a lot, you have answered my question. May God bless you, I will update you as it goes. All the very best. |
@collinsfbi Job well-done! being very helpful here since the start of this thread. |
baddiguy: The truth of the matter is that you've messed up big time. If you truly had that much in your personal account, were you smoking weed when you then decided to leave matters in the hands of those usually selfish agents who couldn't care less about how they destroy your personal history with the embassies? You made a good point until when you mentioned the idea of getting a new passport, what happened to his biometric details? |
rockar: Thanks a lot. Guess i will hope for the best now. Thanks Sure...that is all you can do |
This is not funny. Have submitted the link for front page consideration. |
rockar: pls i need someone with xperience to answer my question. i finished nysc last year and ever since then, i manage my dads company which he handed to me with a legal doc. the problem is that i made my firt time application today for uk family visiting visa. after i made the application,a friend told me i ought to have included my school cert and nysc cert in the documents i submitted to let them know im a graduate. pls is this necessary for visiting visa? now i am so unhappyIf you met other requirements then school cert and NYSC does not matter. |
zoomzu: @ Justwise, Thanks a lot, I should just go ahead and file the application using my job status. I will appreciate your kind further on necessary documents to support my wife and daughter's applications as my wife is not working. Her brother Inlaw is taking care of their stay in UK while I provide only the flight tickets and possible sort them like 1k pounds to hold as pocket money.Your brother inlaw need to give her a lot of documents....prove of adequate accommodation for her and her kid, data page of his passport, payslip/bank statement and letter of invitation. You need to attach your payslip/bank statement, family pictures, marriage certificate, your kids birth certificate, a consent letter from you (stating that your wife has your consent to take your kid to the UK). |
okeytimi: Really no body can,i now know what to do an will apprecaite your support when the time is near.God will always be at your side.my best Regards. Its all good, will help as much as i can when you are ready |
okeytimi: Its a good thing to share with you.I will do just that. Will it be a good thing to employ the services of a lawyer agin for the new application cos i intend to copy and paste your last statemnt forward it to him for assistance.I am sharing this cos a lot of pple out there could be suffering the same fate as mine.it is a difficult one but sharing it seems to bring alot relieve after 3 years. Also my wife and baby are now British passport holder will be of any advantage.? Believe me when i say this....you do not need a lawyer. My first tribunal appearance was done by me, wrote my appeal statement and post, after 3months i went to immigration tribunal to defend my appeal and i won. Nobody can tell your story better than you. Lawyers will be happy for the case to drag on because the more the case goes on the more money they make. |
zoomzu: @ Justwise, I do not understand the type of tax you're talking about. I do not have a registered company, it is just a partnership between me and my friend who reside in UK and double as a british citizen. We import our goods through Lagos port.If you own a business you got to pay tax from your earnings, the embassy uses your tax clearance certificate to value your business and to judge if it could be used as tie to Nigeria. If its not registered and you don't pay tax then don't mention it in your visa application. |
zoomzu: @ JustwiseDo you pay tax from your business earning? |
