FamilyRe: Things You Miss About Life Before Marriage And Children by k4kenny(f): 4:31pm On Mar 12, 2013
Interesting that this thread is coming up today. Last night, I went to bed at 10.30 pm only to b awaken by my baby at 12.30am, she didn't go bak to sleep till 8.30 am. In my sleepless state, I had to bathe and prep her older bro for sch, pack 2 meals, tidy up d mess he made in my living room, bathe and feed d cranky baby before finally crashing into a 5hr sleep grin

Do I sometimes miss my single life of being responsible for no one but M̶̲̅ε̲̣? Yes

Would I trade my current life for anything in this world? HELL NO!!!

@ topic. Things I missed as a single lady:

Freedom to sleep and wake at anytime I like. Before babies, if am awake at 2.30 am it must be cos am watchin a good movie.

Not having to worry about bills and other expenses. Mum and dad always took care of dat grin. Now any plumbing, electrical issues r my palava.

Not really an outgoing person so I can't exactly say I miss paintin d town red grin, but I sure miss d ability to hang out wit my gals anytime I like.

That being said, I love my currently life; never a dull moment with those kids cheesy

Cheks01: 1daful piece op. Pls K4Kenny hw is t mixed wit camphor cos I v ds terrible dandruff dt refuse 2 go. When applied do u wash off after sometimes or leave t. Tnx
I mix just 1 camphor ball with the hair cream+shea butter. Just apply it as u would your everyday hair cream, no need to wash it off; the smell is not that bad. It might sting a little at first but you'll see the results in weeks.

^^^ Don't mind them, shameless bunch. So someone's ramblings since '06 is what the writer is basing his accusations of SW on. 'The Yoruba Plot'; LWKMD
Everyone knows the region that is controlling the Nigerian petroleum sector; the percentage of oil blocks they own is a clear indication. The writer mentioned not less than 10 northerners, no S/westerner was mentioned in the entire biased article, so what is he basing his allegation on the headline on? Some ramblings on wikileaks? SMH
HealthRe: Benefits Of Shea Butter On The Skin. by k4kenny(f): 3:33am On Mar 12, 2013
I can testify to how shea butter has been wonderful in almost every aspect of my bodycare

I used to have horrible dandruff on my scalp, someone suggested I mix shea butter into my haircream with a little camphor, it worked like magic. Not only am I dandruff-free, my hair is stronger nd shinier grin

Really helpful with stretchmarks, I always rub it on my belly while pregnant, now after 2 babies, NO stretch marks cheesy

Also use it for my kids; no expensive, imported cream can achieve the same result as shea butter on their skin.

If you're havin nasal congestion, just use ur thumb and index fingers to rub it along the bridge of your nose, it clears up in seconds.

It has also really worked on boils, scars and other skin issues. Shea butter is truly one of Gods gift to mankind.

@OP nice write up, wonderful soap you've got there wink

julicoka: my baby is three months now and she is skinny and am doing exclusive without water pls help me what wil i be eating to help my baby to add body pls help
Your baby's weight might be an hereditary thing. As long as you're eating a balanced diet, taking plenty of warm fluid ( tea, pap etc) and she's sucking properly, then there should be nothing to worry about. If she isn't, then u can do as revelation 2013 suggested.

Thanks for unbanning M̶̲̅ε̲̣ Seun. But I'm no spammer at all talkless of persistent. I only opened a topic in a section I felt was appropriate. I wasn't aware of that. I can assure you that A2w is not a get rich quick scam site. I know the forum has its fairshare of scammers but your mods have to give members benefit of the doubt.
Nairaland GeneralDoes This Deserve A Ban? by k4kenny(op):
Good day all, yesterday I posted this thread in the business section and I was swiftly banned for 1 month by the moderator, naijacutee, without prior warning. A PM was sent to her, no reply. Apparently she's only quick in banning, not replying PMs.

Here's appealing to all reasonable members of nairaland to view the thread with an open mind ,d tell M̶̲̅ε̲̣ if the ban was justified. I want to know if am wrong to post in that section.

In my over 6 years of being a nairaland member, I have always adhered to the rules of the forum. I have NEVER been banned, NEVER had a post hidden neither have I been warned by any moderator for any reason. She didn't even bother to check out my profile for authentication.

Your opinions would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is a phenomenal business opportunity for every Nigerian from all walks of life. This is not your run-of-the mill network marketing company as it involves sales and distribution of various products from well known manufacturers. It is a very lucrative business that seeks to enrich its members so many ways which includes:

Witty07: Please help. My 3 weeks old baby girl has this rash on her buttocks side. What can be done please.
It might be a reaction to the diaper, once experienced that with my boy, doctors prescribed antifungal cream mycoten, and it worked.

@jiro
Wishin u speedy recovery, please try as much as possible to take care of yourself so you can be there for your child. Taking care of babies is not easy at all, it can't be done single-handedly. If your husband offers to help with the baby once in a while, let him, it'll relieve you of d stress.
Perhaps you can get the doctors to convince your husband and sisters you're well enough to breastfeed and express. If you're not, then it'll be better you get your rest and let them start him on the formula.
May God lay His healin hands on you.

Your post is too long and filled with jargon for M̶̲̅ε̲̣ to even consider quoting. For someone criticising Nigerians for talking too much, you seem to have the longest post in this thread

FYI there is no known cure for sickle cell anaemia, its a chromosomal disorder, its like saying there's a cure for Down syndrome and other chromosomal disorders, the best you c, get are medications used as blood anti- sickling agents.

Much as I would like to admit that sicklers can live a 'meaningful life' as you put it, they can't. I sadly lost a former classmate, who was 7months pregnant to the disease. How many female sickle cell anaemia patients are able to successfully carry a pregnancy to full term without complications?

I have lived with sicklers on multiple occasions and I can tell you this: I'LL NEVER KNOWINGLY BRING A CHILD TO THIS WORLD TO SUFFER. I won't even consider the possibility. One of the first things I asked my now husband when we just startd dating about a decade ago was his genotype. I won't have bothered if am AA, he was initially amused and said it was too early in the relationship to consider such, to which I told replied I didn't want to wait till we were neck-deep in the relationship before finding out.
@ mynd44
There are women who don't want to have their biological kids abi? Go to the ttc thread in the health section and see how true that is. 99.9% of women wants to go through the 'ordeal' of pregnancy and birth even if they're going to adopt.

IslamPeople Claiming to be Muslims Launch Gay-friendly, Women-led Worship Places by k4kenny(op): 4:14am On Mar 04, 2013
At first, the devout Muslims who gathered in a Washington, D.C., conference center seemed like they could have come from any mosque. There were women in headscarves and bearded men who quoted the Quran.
But something was different. While mingling over hors d'oeuvres, they discussed how to change Islam's future. A woman spoke about fighting terrorism; she had married outside the Islamic faith, which is forbidden for a Muslim woman. A Pakistani man mentioned his plans to meet friends for drinks, despite the faith's ban on alcohol.
In a corner of the room, an imam in a long gray tunic counseled a young Muslim with a vexing spiritual conflict: being gay and Muslim. The imam, also gay and in a relationship, could easily sympathize with the youth's difficulties.
On this brisk Monday night in late October, members of Muslims for Progressive Values, a nascent American reformist organization, had gathered from around the country to celebrate a milestone: In four years, the group had grown from a few friends to a thousand members and spawned a string of small mosques and spiritual groups that stretched from Atlanta to Los Angeles.
Today, as America's Muslim leaders debate controversial topics like political radicalism inside mosques and states' attempts to ban Shariah law, this growing network of alternative mosques and Islamic groups is quietly forging a new spiritual movement.
They're taking bold steps, reinterpreting Islamic norms and re-examining taboos. While far from accepted by mainstream clerics, these worshippers feel that the future of the religion lies not solely with tradition but with them. Women are leading congregations in prayer, gay imams are performing Islamic marriages, and men and women are praying side by side.
This is not the norm for most of the 2.6 million-strong American Islamic community, accustomed to centuries-old traditions of gender relations and houses of worship that tend to draw primarily from a single ethnic group.
"We can't move forward as a society, as a faith system, if we subscribe to these old draconian ways of practicing Islam," says Ani Zonneveld, who is the president of Muslims for Progressive Values. A 49-year-old singer-songwriter who lives in Los Angeles, she leads prayers for men and women together and tells gay Muslims, often shunned in other mosques, that their religion welcomes them.
This soft-spoken Malaysian-American who sports a crop cut with blond streaks is one of a small but burgeoning cadre of Islamic reformers in the United States, both within her group and outside it. Their causes range from fighting radicalization and educating young people to building interfaith bridges and protecting women's rights. Over the years, leaders in the Muslim community have addressed changing needs, from building new mosques to defending civil rights when unfamiliar spiritual practices resulted in discrimination. But this new movement is a radical departure.
"What's taking place in Islam in America right now is what happened before in other religions," says John Esposito, a professor of Islamic studies at Georgetown University.
A few denominations within Judaism and Christianity have openly welcomed gay people and women, Esposito points out. Some Reform, Reconstructionist and Conservative Jewish communities are led by gay and women rabbis. The Presbyterian Church, United Church of Christ, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Episcopal Church allow gay and women clergy. The United Methodist Church ordains women.
Mosques in America, however, usually are Sunni or Shiite; they differ in how they interpret Islamic law. Still other mosques combine Sunnis and Shiites under one roof. But as far as the open participation of gay people or leadership by women imams, most mosques are much the same: It doesn't happen. Some Sufi mosques, which follow mystical traditions, welcome gay Muslims, though their numbers are sparse in the United States.
Most Muslims rarely attend mosques outside of major holidays although the Quran commands men to pray in a group every week. In a Pew survey last year of 1,033 American Muslims, just under one-half said they attend a mosque once a week. Many said they worship on their own or seldom. A majority of Muslims surveyed think the religion is flexible, with only about a third saying there is but one true way to interpret it.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2012/03/29/progressive-muslims-launch-gay-friendly-women-led-mosques_n_1368460.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000008&utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false

Seriouslyhuh Soon these 'progressives' would start printing their own versions of the Quran. Islam is not a religion that can be tailored to your individual needs.
