Toju200:It's channels news at 10pm. Check on YouTube for yesterday's video. |
UltimateDreamer:So many vehicles it's difficult to keep pace on which is which. |
Ezugwu MRAP from DICON is looking really good! Would definitely give Proforce a run for the money. The improvements on this model, especially when compared to the first iteration are light years apart.

Lurker4Long:No vessel yet to the Nigerian navy, apart from a number of RHIBs. For Private security companies, it's hard to say, but my guess would be 8 units in all. It's easy to mix up the vessels from Damen, so the number might be lower. |
Daverytimes:Really, this is pathetic. I didn't read that hubris you typed above. |
Toju200:You see how Faithful007 made an intelligent, articulate post. Accepted responsibility, stated the root causes, and proffered possible solutions. Ask the other clowns to provide evidence and they go on meaningless rant. |
Daverytimes:Go and rant at DHQ. This has become drab and boring. Go to National Assembly, go there and cry for them. Don't come to this thread to rant. |
New patrol boats for Nigeria.

Salatavor:This is the kind of foolishness we are talking about. http://saharareporters.com/2020/10/29/breaking-missing-plateau-cleric-appears-new-boko-haram-video-asks-nigerian-government https://www.nairaland.com/6219054/pastor-polycarp-zongo-kidnapped-boko |
Toju200:They will conveniently forget all the good things the military is doing in the North East, all the rescues of kidnapped victims, the daring raids on the seas. As soon as Chad or like the US has done does something small, the next thing would be insults, pages and pages of kissing American and Chadian as$. Objectivity, you can't expect objectivity with someone(people) who have chosen to be unfortunate. |
SamuelAnyawu:You are so full of it!!! Understand what his post meant. You are one of the likes who seek out and post negativity. What about the positives, or is everything that is happening around you dark and grim, no progress and no hope? After talking about the sick soldier, let's know if the attention he was seeking for has been provided, did the authorities provide the medical support. It simple and plain. Post negative news, also post positive news. |
Appreciate the efforts of your own military.

US Thanks Nigeria for Support after SEAL Team 6 Rescues American Hostage The United States Government working with the Nigerian government rescued an American citizen abducted last week in Niger but held hostage in Nigeria, according to multiple sources. https://www.arise.tv/us-thanks-nigeria-for-support-after-seal-team-6-rescues-american-hostage/amp/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost&__twitter_impression=true |
Daverytimes:You are so naive, and it's embarrassing to read. Let me take your 2 African examples, Egypt has received military aid in excess of 2 billion dollars annually from the United States since the 1980s. That is essentially the United States operating in Egypt since 1980. South-Africa does not suffer the sort of security challenges that countries in the sahel region suffer. If an American citizen were to be kidnapped by ISIS linked terrorists, the US government will send soldiers there. I can't believe I need to reiterate this, the defence budget is the primary indicator of a country's military might, it is not the only indicator, but it's the primary indicator. If the countries in Europe can guarantee their own security, the US will not need to have military bases there. It doesn't matter if you are an ally or not. Israel is an ally of the US, but the Americans don't have a permanent military base there. Dutate was President when American special forces operated in the Philippines. You need to read more widely, the Philippines and US military relationship dates from before world war 2. Nigeria is the number 1 security partner of the united states in West - Africa, Nigeria this year alone has conducted 3 major military exercises with the US. Again you post reeks of a general lack of information & understanding. Terrorist groups do not recognize borders, this is one of the reasons the MNJTF exists, this is why Exercise Flintlock exists, this is why the G5 sahel security partnership exists. The US Embassy in Nigeria clearly stated it was a cooperation, you have decided to read whatever meaning you like in the statement. But a Mail & Guardian investigation can, for the first time, reveal where US special operators have been active on the African continent — and offer exclusive details about low-profile missions that have been largely kept under wraps. In 2019, US Special Operations forces were deployed in 22 African countries: Algeria, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte D’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania and Tunisia. https://pulitzercenter.org/reporting/exclusive-inside-secret-world-us-commandos-africa#:~:text=In%202019%2C%20US%20Special%20Operations,%2C%20Somalia%2C%20Tanzania%20and%20Tunisia. I have cited sources for you, I have broken down my post in a manner that would ensure an ease of understanding. If you continue to remain ignorant at this point, that's on you. Your last paragraph, most people in this thread want a fact based argument, citing credible and verifiable sources. Claims should be backed up with credible evidence, not the sort of emotions we have all read in your post. A fact based argument should be encouraged. It is not a crime to ask for evidence. |
Daverytimes:Ashamed of what? Please reign in your emotions. The US military budget is 700 billion dollars, what is the national budget of Nigeria? The United States has a military base with over 30,000 troops in South-Korea, what is the defence budget of South-Korea? The US has an Air Force base in the UK, American F-35 fighters jets make up the bulk of the UK's fighter carrier wing. America maintains an air base in Sigonela, Italy. With F-16s deployed. American special forces fought in the battle of marawi in the Philippines. And so what if the Americans conducted a joint operation in Nigeria, and why should you be ashamed? You need to grow up. There is no country on earth the US cannot conduct a military operation in. If want to go on being ashamed, well, I can't help you. |
Salatavor:The statement from the embassy is clear, go and cry to Donald Trump. The utter stupidity. |
Salatavor:You really are a fool.
|
Jimi24:It's a sanctions problem, not a money problem. I will look for that link and post it. |

harjorlarh:I think that's a Pakistan air force JF-17, not Nigeria. We both use similar roundels. |
Toju200:I remember that shot video, very, very short. |
Kalapizim:I see no difference, can you point it out? |
youghs:We have to you a familiar name for easy identification. |
Carmit:It's another vehicle, but until we know the actual name, we can only generalise for easy identification. |

slimthugchimee2:We don't have enough information to draw a conclusion. What I can say is they are consistently improving the vehicle, each iteration is better than the previous. Obviously the Proforce MRAP is our yardstick, but the good thing is, we now have multiple MRAPs produced in country which would in turn drive competition and weapons development improvement. |
*WAR ON TERROR, ANTI BANDITRY OPERATIONS: Gen Buratai Tours Command Engineering Depot Kaduna* 1. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai was at Command Engineering Depot, kaduna on Friday the 30th of October 2020 on a working tour, where he inspected 5 pieces of additional newly manufactured Nigerian Army (NA) constructed Mines Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) and to assess the ongoing production of new ones. He was conducted round the Depot by the Commander, Major General Sunday Araoye and Director General Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria, Major General Victor Ezugwu, where he also inspected the repairs of damaged/malfunctioned and backloaded Armoured Personnel Carriers, troops carrying vehicles and other combat vehicles. Both the new and the repaired MRAPs, Armoured Personnel Careers, as well as the repaired troops' carrying vehicles were test driven and have proven to be in good working condition. 2. While briefing the Chief of Army Staff at the Depot's Smart Factory, the Commandant said that a state of the art 3D printing machine for vehicles' parts and medical implants has been installed. "We have also manufactured a surveillance vehicle with drone attached to it to enhance NA's operations", he said. 3. After the tour of the facility, members of the press were briefed by the Acting Director of the Nigerian Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa who said that the construction and repairs of the MRAPs, troops' carrying vehicles and other combat equipment as well as the manufacturing of 12.7mm anti aircraft guns and repairs of backloaded ones by the Depot has proven to be impactful and combat multipliers for the ongoing war against insurgency and anti banditry operations in the north east and north western parts of Nigeria. 4. Sagir said "The initiative and efforts of the NA in this regard, has proven to be a force multiplier and very effective in the various theatres of Operations in the fight against terrorism in the north east and anti banditry operations in the north west". "The effort of the NA in this regard has so far saved Nigeria billions of Naira that could have been used for the procurement of these military hardware and equipment" he further said. 5. The Army Chief has expressed satisfaction with the level of progress made so far. He enjoined officers, soldiers and civilian staff of the Depot to upscale the level of achievements recorded, Sagir added. |

fachfouch:If it's not Tunisia, then it's Rwanda. Ghana is out of it, although Ghana has Cobra II's in service, they have recently signed a contract with Elbit systems of Israel, who are offering the Sentinel II 8x8. I also don't see Elbit & Otokar working together, giving the current political climate. Nigeria is out of it also, we are getting armoured fighting vehicles from China, Light armour from South-Korea and MRAPs from Nigeria. This leaves out Rwanda as the most likely destination outside Tunisia. Since Tunisia doesn't use the Cobra, it definitely has to be Rwanda. |
