Satellite imagery and spy planes are very useful intelligence tools but they alone are not extreme. Military Bases are always big, so to get point location viewing or accurate mapping of arms dump, depots, positions, fortifications, etc in any military base; a human intel component is needed. And the best ways to achieve that is through disguise under contractors, joint trainnings, programs, visits, etc. You get that.

You most likely haven't seen or read through US diplomatic cables.

I urge to to read them.

Yes, they need to have some presence on ground to get solid intel.

The US doesn't need to be on ground to know what we have in our bases, apart from the fact they can literally know where each aircraft is stationed in Nigerian bases with satellite imagery, they can very easily get Intel from the ground with having any physical presence.

I hope you followed wikileaks exposure of US government cables?

I'm saying, use the LNG contract as reference to the scale of oil contracts in Nigeria.

Also use the the LNG contract to measure the number of Nigerian oil services contractors & Vendors.

Imagine the scale, then if oil continues to Tank you can use the above measure and estimate the number of losses we might see in Nigeria's energy sector if oil remains at $15 per barrel or below.

you know as a 'veteran' of the strongest military thread and even Henry's thread's early days, you just have to develop the capacity to keep scrolling.

I used to visit the military threads as a guest back then, I must admit I didn't really know much about the military, it was these threads that taught me a lot. I really miss some of the very old posters.

The old guards I remember still posting are you, Rka2 (Legend), Jln115 and Bidexii.

So much fun back then.

One potential weakness of the JF-17 is its internal cannon, which is still the double-barrel GSh-23, a legacy of its MiG-21 heritage. This cannon is outperformed by practically any other autocannon mounted on a modern combat aircraft. However, given the relative infrequency of cannon usage in modern air combat, this is not a big issue.

Being in the same class (debatable) does not equate to same quality and capability of proven and established quality air craft like the F35, F16, Typhoon, etc

With regards to the F35 in use by Isreal , NATO and other US allies, find out yourself.

It seems some people find it difficult thinking in this thread.

If you say aircraft A is not combat tested despite striking a nuclear power (India), and carrying out combat patrols, why is the F-35 combat approved despite only been used to bomb terrorists.

If you claim that aircraft A has not had export success despite selling to 2 countries, how about aircraft B which had to wait 18 years before a sale to Egypt.

It's basic common sense, these comparisons are meant to look at similar instances in aircrafts, not to judge fighters 'like for like' per say.

Please before quoting me, apply common sense.

Instead of reading poorly informed opinions of random people who have not seen fighter jets up close, Here are pages from Air Forces Intel magazine on the combat capability of the JF-17 which was part of the strike package that bombed India.
