AskiaHarem: First of all drop the “we’re/we” and dpeak for yourself and keep everyone else out of your mouth. Just because YOU might be a failure doesn’t mean everybody else is too or that it’s another outside parties fault. I know misery likes company but you can’t assume others will join you; I certainly want.
Naija has been popping for awhile now with some soaring to new heights, some easing there way in and unfortunately some slipping under the bus. Then there are just losers who do nothing but expect the world to be handed to them.
No state has been a heaven while modernizing and industrializing in there respective timeframes.
From a military standpoint Nigeria is stronger than it’s ever been in the twenty first century in terms of enrollment, tuition, and arms procurement; not to mention a growing military industrial complex which it never had before.
Nigeria has been been providing military assistance all of the continent from Mali to Sudan to Somalia all while dealing with its on affairs. And you know what insurgency and banditry is at the lowest it’s been in since 2015. For example where once the West African coast was being described as the new Somali coast is now going months without major issue.
The same can be said to describe nearly every current growing sector in the country. The fact of the matter is while not as peaceful as ever Nigeria is indeed more developed and industrialized than it’s ever been at any given point in history.
This fantasy of this bygone era where Nigeria was once this prosperous glorious prototype greatpower in the making never existed. There where never any past glory days forgotten because in order to fall from grace you must first rise to a certain level and that level Nigeria has yet to ever reach.
See the people with your mindset hate the reality of Nigeria improving in one form or another because your steadily running out of excuses to blame others for your shortcomings. You fear the day you’ll be forced to accept full responsibility for your own plights.
Nigeria has all the time in the world and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Some have been pondering whether or not Nigeria would disappear since the 1960s; they’ll still be wondering about that in the 2160s. I don't know how I can get 1 billion likes for this post, just manage the 1 Seun has provided. |

PRESS RELEASE NIGERIAN NAVY SHIP KADA EMBARKS ON VOYAGE IN SUPPORT OF ECOWAS STABLIZATION SUPPORT MISSION IN GUINEA BISSAU 1. Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) KADA has embarked on a voyage to Guinea Bissau on Saturday 6 August 2022, as part of the strategic sealift role of the Nigerian Navy. The voyage is her first national assignment since she arrived Nigeria from the United Arab Emirates on 27 May 2022. The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, who was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Yakubu Wambai disclosed onboard the new Landing Ship Transport that, “as part of the efforts of Nigeria in strengthening and enhancing security in the West African Sub-Region, NNS KADA has embarked military wares and logistics for the Nigerian Contingent (NIGCON) being part of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau.” He reiterated that the history of peace keeping in Africa and beyond cannot be written without mentioning the commitment and sacrifices of Nigeria. Since independence in 1960, Nigeria’s commitment has grown to be widely recognized in the international community as an unrelenting advocate of global peace, hence it is crucial for her continual involvement in peace keeping missions in Africa and beyond. 2. The Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command recalled that an ECOWAS contingent was deployed to Guinea Bissau under the auspices of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Force after the President of Guinea Bissau, President Umaro Sisoco Embalo escaped a coup attempt in February 2022. Troops of Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Ivory Coast make up the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau with one-year renewable mandate to stabilize the country. NNS KADA is therefore embarking on the voyage to deliver the outstanding logistics and stores of the NIGCON. By this effort, the capability of the new ship will be brought to bear in support of the ECOWAS mandate and in line with Nigeria’s Foreign Policy objective which focuses on Africa. It was added that the decommissioned NNS AMBE and OFIOM (both Landing Ship Tanks) had played similar roles before and during the ECOMOG operations in the 1980s and 1990s. 3. Furthermore, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command buttressed that for any peace keeping operation involving Nigeria, the Nigerian Navy plays general and specific roles. These roles include sea lifting of troops and logistics, Sea Surveillance, Blockade, Gun Fire Support, Control of Shipping and Sea Lane of Communication. Others are Search and Rescue Mission, policing, conveying of relief materials amongst others. Rear Admiral Yakubu Wambai while addressing the Ship’s Company onboard NNS KADA charged them to adhere to integrity, professionalism and teamwork in all ramifications during the mission. He also used the opportunity to urge the officers and men to respect the religious and cultural sensitivity of the Host Nation while discharging their duties in line with utmost professionalism. 4. On his part, the Commanding Officer NNS KADA, Navy Captain Reginald Adoki, prior to the departure of the ship, showed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, for his support and enabling ambiance for the Ship’s company to embark on the voyage in support of the NIGCON of the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea Bissau. 5. The senior naval officers that accompanied the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command to bid NNS KADA farewell to Guinea Bissau were, Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje, the Chief Staff Officer, Headquarters Western Naval Command and Rear Admiral Samson Bura, the Fleet Commander Western Fleet. Others are commodores Bassey Duke, Gideon Kachim, Victor Choji and other Principal Staff Officers of the Headquarters Western Naval Command.

NTSA: Here in Kenya, we learnt painful lessons during the siege at Westgate Mall where weaknesses in inter-agency cooperation and coordination played out in the open. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) insisted it had provided intelligence about the planned attack, but the National PoliceService (NPS) insisted that the said intelligence was not specific. Meanwhile, as the terrorist siege on the mall continued, the military took over the operation from the police which caused a great deal of disquiet. (remember military training is different from that of the police) Nevertheless, all the agencies learned valuable lessons and embarked on forging better cooperation, coordination, and collaboration among themselves. The severity of the incident determines who's in charge of leading the outfit. However when the army is involved in any operation in Nigeria, they are usually in-charge. The problems we've seen in Abuja have been failures to act on intelligence. The DSS, according to reports delivered more than 40 intelligence reports to the Interior ministry and police prior to the Kuje Jail break attack. However as we saw, it wasn't acted upon. An operation like we are seeing been carried out outside Abuja is an army affair, especially with the fact that we are dealing with Terrorist elements. |

NTSA: Don't you think that their training and operational doctrine is different and is cut out to do some specific work?.... I mean general security is a whole different ballgame ....what will be chain of command if an incident happens ? The police are primarily in charge of security, supported by the NSCDC which is a paramilitary agency, then you have the Army (Military). For operations like this, irrespective of the incompetence of the Nigerian Police Force, with the jail break in Kuje and the thwarted attack at the Nigerian Law school which resulted in the killing of 3 soldiers, there's no way the police would have been able to handle such a complex security situation. With regards to Chain of command, I have no clue of how that will work. |

This is starting to look more political than military situation They are in charge of military operations in Abuja, parts of Niger and Nassarawa. The police continues to prove that they are very incompetent sadly, that's why terrorism in Nigeria has blown out of proportion. There's nothing political about the situation. |

Exnavyboy62: You are right about the AH 1vipers, I just confirmed that they will be delivered to Nigeria very soon and at the same time, there's also an order for 6× T-129 AH. I think it will be better if we cancelled the deal for the AH 1vipers and rather procure enough T 129 AH that is more economical, it comes with no restrictions and Turkiye wouldn't mind supplying them with appropriate AGM. Turkiye is even ready to share the technology with Nigeria. On another hand, TAI did not disclose the specific customer for the helicopters but it is confirmed that it is to be delivered to Nigeria and I'm guessing the airforce because the army sent six of it's personnel for pilot training in India by HAL, and the army says it requires a "light avation" component to provide timely air support to it's troops so it's possibly the HAL Rudra and Dhruv that is on the mind of the army. The Navy on the other hand does not require any combat helicopters, I.S&R Leonardo AW helicopters are just fine for the Navy for now. But all the same, I'm just happy to say; UCAV Kings of sub Saharan Africa ---- NIGERIA!!! MRAP Kings of sub Saharan Africa ---- NIGERIA!!! And now the AH Kings of sub Saharan Africa ---- NIGERIA!!! Next up, let's shock South Africa and snatch the crown for submarine and frigate Kings From some reports I have seen, there are claims that the T-129 ATAK will be delivered in 2023, while AH-1Z deliveries would be completed by 2025. I don't know how true they are, but these are unsubstantiated reports at this time. We obviously get more for less with the ATAK, I would also support a cancellation of the AH-1Z if it were up to me. At this point though, I'll just prefer to watch and see. I'm more interested in the equipment the army will get, I hope they get more Tanks and IFVs if possible. |
