Conner44: If rats and cockroaches can live comfortably in soak away then what’s stopping snakes from doing same Rats and cockroaches do not live inside the soak away. They can only hide in holes around the soak away. The heat inside the soak away is too much for snakes, rats or cockroaches to live inside. Mind you, the heat there is enough to cook and generate electricity. |

Pets › Re: Do Vets Perform Abortions On Dogs? by kachistone: 6:42pm On Nov 08, 2021 |
Hmmm.
OP there is no need for the abortion. I know you are angry but your dog can still give birth to beautiful puppies. Besides, why do we hate our Nigerian Shepherd Dog (Ekuke). I used to have such sentiments until I discovered they are resistant to sicknesses that will kill the foreign breeds.
Believe me, the Nigerian Shepherd Dog is an underrated breed that has been abused by people. But the breed is damn intelligent. No need for potty training and other things.
I tell you, Ekuke is far intelligent than many foreign dog breeds.
I know the problem is because many Ekukes we see on the road are destitutes that have been despised by their owners. So that is the picture that most of us have about the breed.
By the way, the Fulani breed of the Nigerian Shepherd Dogs are bigger and can grow over 4feet. |

Amotolongbo: You are the perfect poster face for the collapse education structure in the country if you don’t know that this question is a practical question meant for the students of that department.
This is simply a very good case study question to test the students comparative mental skill and knowledge. And as a faculty of arts students. They are expected to be aware of public activities and figures. Only if they don’t want to practice in the field
This is the department of English and Literature, faculty of Art for goodness sake. Obviously there is a novel which has a Cubana-like character which is part of the books recommended to them for the course. Your response is apt and perfect. I see nothing wrong in the questions asked. Such questions test the IQ of students to know how they can compare the various characters and apply the lessons learnt. There are no right or wrong answers in such questions however, the students must be able to convince the examiners with their submissions and postulations. I enjoyed answering such questions during my university days. |

Trust me, Bank PHB, Oceanic, Intercontinental, etc wouldn't have crashed anything. Their CEOs were just dealt with because they weren't padi padi with the powers that be, or they stepped on toes, or transgressed in high places. Pure truth. I still can't decipher how Access acquired Intercontinental Bank. Intercontinental was far bigger than Access. Sanusi just dealt with Erastus Akingbola and Cecelia Ibru. |

Modrov: Well if Nigerians are willing to pay , why has total removal of subsidy been opposed since 1993 when it was first proposed?
The refineries do not work because when you sell petrol below the cost of its production, there is no money for upgrades and other stuff
Plus since NNPC staff still get their salaries paid ( their salary does not depend on the profits or loss of the NNPC; they are treated as highly paid civil servants) there is no incentive to keep things working.
Between those two reasons, that's why the refineries failed over two th three decades. The truth is Nigerian oil magnates are just ok with getting rent from the IOC. The people profiting from the malady in the oil industry do not want it to work. And they will fight for the status quo to remain. The common wealth of the nation is in their hands. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Funny Fuel Stations In Benin Republic (Pictures) by kachistone: 10:22pm On Sep 01, 2021 |
Modrov: We cannot have functional refinereis because Nigerians want to buy fuel below its cost of production per liter...and want government to pay a subsidy that does not adequately cover the resulting loss to the petroleum industry
It is for that same reason that we have 20 inactive licenses for refineries in Nigeria because no private investor wants to come and refine and sell fuel at a loss. It is also the reason why NNPC refineries went bust in the first place. FYI, Nigerians are willing to pay for services rendered to them. We once had functional refineries in the olden days but pilfering by the political class made all the refineries to die. Nigerians are willing to pay for services. I wonder why our leaders do not know that our inability to refine oil for domestic consumption can lead to a serious national crisis. The Corona virus pandemic made serious countries to take self sufficiency in all matters seriously. But our darling leaders are just looking for ways to loot. It is a big shame. |
