First all I think every man is entitled to whatever path he chooses to follow,what is not acceptable is reflecting the shame on his loved ones out of selfishness and promiscuity which he obviously is less bothered about.

If I were this fella I'd just take some time to converse with my father perhaps find out why he does it outrageously being careful not to judge him.I've been made to believe the reasons we men go out of many ways to satisfy our selfish desires varies and depends on the individual.It usually is the fact that they are aware they can get away with this guilty pleasures without being accountable to anyone especially if they contribute their bit to the welfare of their family and especially when they are the only ticket to the family's survival.This and a tonne more justifications promote this deed.

At this point I will suggest that this gentleman ask himself if he could be capable of doing the same thing,if he's sure he can't downgrade himself to the extent of so many extra marital affairs would he even experiment with one? Ofcourse provided with all the necessary means to foster this acts.
My opinion, if he's man enough to talk to his mum he should do so with indifference at the same time understand the consequences of a confrontation.Then lastly wait until he's his father's age before throwing stones at him even in his grave.

He should go ahead and own up to his GM in regards to his situation although this will be frowned at however if he's willing to learn he can take up a part-time engineering course or training in that field to help him sustain and become better at his job.Also he should carefully consider his options of acquring another job should he be fired because it could be catastrophic if the whole company finds out he hasn't any experience in the engineering field.The good thing about his job is he is qualified to do what he already does so fortune might just smile on his face if he resolves this issue.

I understand you and my advice for you speaking from experience is: If you can't handle it,then stay away as much as possible.Truthfully he might actually prefer you to his soon-to-be wife but he's not willing to quit that relationship for reasons I believe is stronger than what he feels.This looks like an accident waiting to happen given time.If you love yourself more than the trouble that looms ahead then you need to use the next exit door and keep your distance.Ofcourse you'll still be happy for him vice versa (if he feels that way ohh) but you don't want to ruin his relationship with this other woman and end up miserable.

In a nut shell,the answer to you question is NO!!! due to reason stated above and host of other reasons which you as well other nairalanders can give.

Having said that,I think it is worth considering what business one is delving into when family members are involved.In a case where only a family member has access or more insight into a particular field of investment one would be inclined to deal with that person rather than a friend who knows less about that line of work.
Both options should obviously be measured carefully as both have there positive and negative attributes.It all borders around what line of business,what part each party is playing and basically the intensity of the relationship.
In my opinion, money truly brings out the worst in "us" humans but we are still left with such emotions like trust,belief,respect,Love,tolerance which is highly essential in ensuring the success any form of business/investment.
This qualities can be exhibited by anyone,friends or families.Therefore I could swing either way when it comes to who to trust.

I just got a flash of a similar idea after reading your post.What a basic office needs is a phone,fax machine,internet connected computer and probably a reception enviroment.I believe people who have real business to run will acquire a laptop and they'll be ready to go anywhere,even in a restaurant.My idea: if you could set up an office that provides private mail boxes,fax services,phone messaging service,postal services,even administrative tasks for businesses be it or mobile or static.Outsourcing more like.
