@Ositadima1, you are not busy body, you are one of my mentors in this forum. Thanks for the detailed response. I actually want to be like you developing algo and using algo to trade but I did not break through. Still trying to sharpen my python skills. Thanks ositadima1: I know you were not referring to me, but I am a busybody nah. Full disclosure, I captured 46% of the 55% move from this year's low already.
Based on my valuation of the company's 2022 financials, I believe the fair value of the stock is 18, so hopefully there is still 30% of upside potential.
Technically, the OBV indicator is looking up, price broke the 10 support/resistance line, and it made a new high. The monthly bars are increasing with corresponding volume. I believe the stock is not doing badly and there is no reason to sell it. However, I would like to see how it reacts to the dividend mark down coming on Friday. Overall, I would still hold the stock, but if you are inclined to sell, watch for it to close below a negative 6%, that should be some kind of warning. |

Thanks ositadima1, I actually like your response though did not answer my question. I have read alot about complex methods of calclulating FV such as DCF models, DDM, GGM etc but all of them looks complex for my undertsanding. I saw your post and oga emma dicussion make it look simple. Hence, I want to learn the easy method from the ogas. Moreso calculating FV involves a lot of subjective assumptions. Thanks, I will continue my learning. ositadima1: I used a very simple idea. If I owned a business, what minimum return would I expect to earn on my invested capital? One way to estimate this is to set the risk-free rate of return, such as the yield on treasury bills, as a floor (plus a premium for the business risk).
From the company's PAT, we can work our way back to what my capital should be hypothetically, and then I call this fair value because everyone else calls their estimates fair value.
Note that this is why I cannot make estimates when a company has negative PAT and I have only ratios and comparative analysis to fall on.
Also, there are very complex methods that use multiple inputs from the financials spanning several years, but I do not have the time or the will to stay in one place doing data entry when at the end of the day you will still need to estimate and project some values.
You can ask the Oga's to give you their more elaborate and probably more accurate method.
I guess talk plenty without answering your question. |

@ositadima1, Thanks for the information. I want to learn. How did you calculate the fair value using the metrics in the table (Equity growth, ROE, PE, VPD ). Thanks ositadima1: Here are some stocks, their fair values, and their divergence from fair value (VPD). I used 2022 reports as my source. PE was as of yesterday. You can see that I sorted them in order of rising PE. |

I don't fall in love with stocks.
The reason l recommend a sell is because cowboys have moved on from the stock.
She moved from 4.15 to 4.45. Cowboys have dumped it already.
Look at fidelity now... It has been dumped as predicted.
I will only give you buy advise if asked?. |

Closing date is supposed to be 26th as seen clearly on the form. FMN sent notification to NGX on 29th July while the letter issued by Honeywell to confirm the MTO was dated 11th August........so how could the closing date have been 4th Aug Just needed more clarification on this.
@slimdove , the thing is that they may end up taking a smaller fraction of whatever units you tendered, depending on their qualified investors criteria.......because a lot of tender may be received. [ FMN mandatory takeover of Honeywell announced only applies to existing investors who had the stock settled in their position on the 5th of August. |

Complete the mandate form and drop with your bank, Or let your stockbroker process share transfer form. Send the processed transfer form to the registrar copying cscs، this is what I did and I got swift resolution. Toluway: Please is anyone here very close to any of the officials of African Prudential Registrar? The desk officers have made me to send so many documents over and over again. Now, they have refused to communicate me further on whether I have met their requirements or not. Any time i called them, they told me they would send me a mail; and they would not. The registrar has not been paying dividends on my stocks under their supervision for a long time. I don't want to start taking official actions yet; you know such process can be stressful. Can anyone help? |

Hello, I have done this and it works for me. It was even my stockbroker that gave me the hint. Eco bank illegally make deductions from my account, I wrote them they did not reply, I wrote them the second time, someone called on phone explaining the reason for the deduction, I told him to reply my letter they refused. Thereafter, I wrote CBN and put them in copy, my money was refunded that same day. I did the same for Africa prudential registrar, they replied my ignored emails immediately and follow up with several calls. Wapgod: Thank you, Sir. I have done this but I don't expect it to have any effect. The last time I sent an email to the CBN specific email addresses for reporting financial institutions. The only reply i got was an automated one. I have lost faith in this regulators. |
