My point is, that you are clogging up the space for legitimate US Visa applicants who have legitimate questions, and it would be in the best interest of your data bundle, to please do something else with it. CreativeWeb: So, what's your point? |

Please, I need your help about US Visa Application. My company is sending me to US for a business. I have a letter from my company indicating they are sending me. I have a letter of invitation from our business partner. I want to apply for a B1 Visa. I will be staying 3 months. Here's my challenge... I want to travel with my wife. While filling the DS-160 form, 1. Should I indicate that she will be accompanying me? If yes, 2. Will she also fill a separate DS-160 form and book interview? 3. What kind of Visa will she apply for? B2? *** 4. Since my company is sponsoring me, will I need a copy of the company's bank account statement to convince the consular that my travel expenses will be taken care of while in the US? 5. How long does Visa processing take? I will be attending a conference which will start on 13th July. I want to apply for visa on Thursday 8th June. Possible date of interview is showing 23rd June. Can we get the visa before 13th July? Thank you so much. CreativeWeb: So, what's your point? |

My wife and I applied for the US Visa and were interviewed in August. She was pregnant. But, HONESTLY, we were not traveling so that she will have our baby there. In fact, we didn't plan that because we don't have such money. We wanted to travel for vacation and also to celebrate her birthday. Moreover, we will return to Nigeria before she gives birth.
But, unfortunately, we were denied Visa.
I'm a clergy. My Bishop gave me letter of approval for us to travel and come back.
Here's the interview transcript...
***
VO: Why are you going? ME: To have our annual vacation.
VO: What do you do? ME: I'm a priest with the Anglican Church.
She asked my wife, what do you do? WIFE: I'm a student.
VO: Have you traveled before? ME: Yes
VO: Where? ME: India
VO: What did you go there to do? ME: To study.
VO: Did you travel together that time to India? ME: No.
VO: Do you have children? ME: No.
VO: Sorry, I will not be granting you Visa today. ME: Thank you.
That was it.
Now, I want to reapply. My Diocese is sending for a Church Conference in the US. I will be going alone.
I have a baby now because my wife was put to bed this September.
I want to stay only two weeks.
My ties to Nigeria...
1. Wife and baby.
2. A big congregation I pastor as a clergy.
3. My elderly parents.
4. My Bishop has not approved I stay beyond two weeks.
Guys, what do you think? |

JWTheocracy1: Good morning V.O. I'm a Nigerian currently living In Abidjan. I first met my fiance who is an American citizen earlier this year when I was still living and doing business in Nigeria. now my fiance wants to file for me and my question is this...can I choose to attend my interview in a foreign land where I'm now currently staying which is Abidjan though I'm a Nigerian but has a resident permit? expecting a swift response. thanks JWTheocracy1: Good morning ladies and Gentlemen. though this is an immigration question but please permit me to ask that here because I've asked in the immigration section but the v.o is no where to respond for the past 3 days now. I believe he or she or they has been so very busy with other things, so I fault no one.
my question is this; I have a friend who met his fiancee who is an American citizen few months ago in Nigeria but for the past 3 months now he has been living in Abidjan and already have gotten his resident permit, the lady also visited him last month in Abidjan and now wanna file for him. is it possible to choose and attend his immigration interview in Abidjan though he is a Nigerian and is currently living and doing business in Abidjan with a resident permit?
please a swift response will be highly appreciated. no matter how short the response would be just wanna hear yes or no. thanks all. |

A VO here has always stated, that documents are not checked. How about that? I just said from observation from transcripts, these class of applicants should go with that evidence, just in case. ladylco: Read my past post where the issue of document presentation was being debated concerning B!/B2 visa were I was asked evidence of the conference I was going for when I got my 1st usa visa. I remember also one of the vo asking an applicant his hotel booking confirmation so what about that? What class will you place that? |

I made an observation and gave a suggestion. In two transcripts,I have seen, the applicants have been asked for evidence of their relatives status. And I suggested that those who have L.P.R or citizens as relatives, should take evidence, just in-case it is requested for. OUTSIDE OF THAT CONTEXT, DOCUMENTS ARE NOT CHECKED...IF DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE CHECKED, APPLICANTS ARE USUALLY GIVEN 221G PAPER, TO GO AND GET THE DOCUMENTS AND COME BACK. IN ALL THE TRANSCRIPTS POSTED HERE, HAVE YOU SEEN ANYONE BEING ASKED FOR DOCUMENTS OUTSIDE OF BIRTHING, IMMIGRATION AND SCHOOLING?
ladylco: They dont need any document to verify that, all they require is the persons name and DOB and with that they will get the details they need, besides you guys keep crucifying people who went to the embassy with documents and now this! If the USA need to verify anything all they need is just info, forget all these document matter.
all you need to advise the guy is to say that he is aware that the embassy do not encourage presenting documents for tourist visa therefore he didnt see it necessary to come with it however if he can be permitted to return with it that he will go get it. then if he is not granted the chance atleast he tried. |

I have seen this twice now in transcripts, if your host is an Legal Permanent Resident in the US, you should request for supporting documents from him or her. I think those are the only documents that are easily verifiable. Also know how he or she entered the US, that helps too. |

"No, you are not required to get a visiting visa first. We issue first time visas to pregnant mothers for childbirth when they meet the reqirements for the visa, and prior travel to the US is not one of the requirements. My advice with this post was simply to declare your true intention. This applies to all US visas. If your intention is to go to a community college, declare that. If your intention is to visit your brother, declare that. If your intention is to go camping in one of our National Parks, declare that. If your intention is to have childbirth, declare that. " - LAGOSNIV Rachie83: Yes, going to the US just for wedding shopping is a red flag when you can do the same shopping here. I will suggest you tell the VO you will be going for vacation( make sure you ve places you will like to enjoy your vacation in one of the known US states for such and an hotel you will like to stay) then you will use the opportunity to shop for your wedding coming up so so date. I wish you all the best |

Woah! that is why it is important to fill your forms, yourself. Maybe you can draw the attention of the V.O when next you apply, that an agent assisted you in filling the forms but what you have filled is true and accurate to your knowledge. Though you are fully responsible for what you fill in the forms. idolda: I filled it while still in school then and immediately after school while still single. But now I'm married with kids . You applied three times for a US Visa lottery, you really wanted to leave Naija o. That in itself MAY NOT be the reason for rejection. But those three times, did you fill the information yourself or did you use an agent? because the information you give has to be the same, except where it is reasonable where circumstances changes, for example: you were single, now you are married e.t.c. idolda: 1. 265,000 naira per month 2. 2 weeks 3. Yes a family friend (a citizen and I said I would be staying with him)
Note: I applied for USA visa lottery 3 times between 2005-2008 |

1. What is your salary range? 2. How long were you planning on going to stay in New York? 3. Do you have someone in the US? idolda: Good morning all, I have just been denied and mine was the shortest interview ever. It goes thus
Vo : good morning, your passport please Me: Good morning Vo: Where are you going in usa? Me: Brooklyn, New York Vo: Why are you going to New York? Me: for vacation and also use the opportunity to visit tourist sites especially statue of liberty which has long been on my bucket list. Vo: What do you do? Me: said it Vo: How long have you been working? Me: 8 years Are you married? Me: yes, got married to my sweetheart 5years ago Vo: Any kid? Me: yes, I'm blessed with 2 kids(I mentioned their names) Vo: Are you going with anyone? Me: No, (was about explaining further before he cuts in) Vo: Have you traveled outside Nigeria before Me: This is going to be my first trip outside the country
Then he said sorry bla bla bla and handed me the blue leaflet (Denied under 214b).
Please experts what could be wrong and how do I tackle this?

Note: I'm 33,M no travel history, married with 2 kids and a Govt employee. I filled the form myself and all the information presented is accurate. |

Part 2 of the things, I have observed on this forum:
1. Most Nigerian applicants don't know lying is a sin, in all situations. (the god of Nigeria is a flexible god) 2. Everybody initially planned to go for a conference, but now they wish to go for a vacation. 3. Nigerian agents point guns at the head of Nigerian applicants and force them to lie on their forms (sarcastic remark, abi is it Irony?) 4. Most Nigerian applicants don't do research, they are entitled to your answers and if they don't like them, their fangs come out unless you are the VO, then they become humble. 5. You ask us for your chances, we say you don't have a chance, then you say we are not God, so why ask us in the first place? 6. NO DOCUMENTS WILL BE CHECKED OUTSIDE OF YOUR PASSPORT, RECEIPT AND CONFIRMATION PAGE. Someone will still ask if documents will be checked, who will like to bet? 7. Most Nigerian applicants still don't know a VISA is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT. Its like toasting a babe, take her to Transcorp hilton, she might not give you visa but if I take her to Mama Put, I might get the visa (its an analogy biko), you maybe the poster-boy for 'strong ties' but finally its the VO's decision. 8. If you know what you are doing is wrong, it is wrong. If you don't feel comfortable with it, then don't do it. Coming to us for validation of your wrong deed, won't make it any better. 9. The first step to restoring credibility, is coming clean without expecting to be issued a visa. 10. Nigeria is a great country, if only we make it so. A lot of African countries have little or no stress in being issued Visas, because their people don't abuse the system. A crocodile in Nigeria, does not become an alligator in the US. I.M.H.O. |

This mostly likely a lie. You were not going for the program and you only wanted to boost your chances of getting a US Visa. Now, how do you tackle this mindset a CBP officer might have, of you? do you have documented evidence for not going for that program, for example an official letter. If you don't, you might find yourself back on the next flight to Nigeria. Be safe. Donaltus: Hello gurus in the house
I was given b1/b2 visa last week Wednesday, tho I stated that am going for a cultural festival which is stating October 6-8......,am suppose to arrive USA by 5 and depart by 10,but my plans have change due to some issue on ground.....hope there won't be any issue if I decide to go for another program for November. A VISA is A PRIVILEGE not A RIGHT. You may be the poster boy for 'strong ties' and not get it. You just be honest, and hope for the best. aremso: after the wedding in 2016 i went to the embassy with my wife to get visa for us on honey moon but we were denied though the VO kept hammering on the date we wedded which we told him the actual time but he kept hammering on the date we married then i later discovered i had booked the appointment and stated that we wre married b4 getting to the embassy then he asked us again which is contrary to the info in the ds 160 we got married in dec and we booked appointment in sept knowing that we would have married before then that was why i filled that we are married. We made our intention known that she wants to go and give birth and even with the evidences of payments of hospital bill and the correspondences, she was denied thrice so even with the intentions made known to them they still denied her. my question now is does making the intentions known to them guaranty visa issuance? |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 6:58pm On Sep 17, 2017 |
No, if you were actually going to give birth in the US but lied about it or didn't reveal that information to the Visa Officer. Stories about not knowing you were pregnant, or getting pregnant later, is no longer believed. You may be deported or banned from the US, if you manage to slip through. The ball is in your court. aremso: Gurrus,
Please can one use visiting visa for birthing purpose upon arrival contrary to the original purpose of visiting ? |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 8:40pm On Sep 15, 2017 |
You are good to go. This is a logical explanation, but practise till you are able to explain it as fast as possible. You missed the 2017 training, you would like to now go for the vacation first, then go for the 2018 training. Even if you are not given for the vacation, you can come back and apply for the training, and you will still be consistent. IMHO. sim4fx: Hi Everyone.
I had been following and read through the thread.
Please what do you guys think about this.
I was to attend a leadership training for 3 weeks from Oct 1st to 25th, i went though the qualifying test through out July and August and got invitation early September. By the time i paid and book appointment i got 18th October for Interview which is the middle of the Leadership training already.
If i should present that to the VO, my chances could be NO, though another Leadership conference had been slated for March/April 2018 but i am thinking of changing my application for vacation and visiting in December, so that by March i do not need to go queue for visa but just fly for my Training having received 2 years multiple visa.
Please what do you think about this? Is this thought right?
Oh, just recollected i called Lagos Embassy to see if i can change my appointment date and told the Customer service my reason, which i believe she would have noted in their system. i f i go for vacation and visiting hope it won't go against me?
I am Married with 3 kids I am head of Operation for an IT company and collect 218k after taxation I'd only travel to Ghana 5 years ago in 2012 for vacation. Intend vacation to New York and road travel to visit my in-law in Philadelphia.
Please kindly advice!
