why do u want to program an os? is it for educational purpose or what? an os is essentially made up of 2 major parts: the kernel and the user interface.
if u are really bent on doing this I would advice u to go the Linux route. Linux has an open source kernel on which you can layer a custom user interface and implement custom functions. writing an os for a single coder even if an experienced one is no easy task.

It's like trying to build an house alone. Even an experienced bricklayer (Civil Engineer) will suffer!

U made a very good point here... So many Nigerians now live their lives based on facebook rules; in fact some literally live n breath facebook... And I don't disagree that it contributes to suicide cases cos those very set of people I've talked abt above get really affected when they go online n see post of friends going big or doing big thinz on social media, espclly fb... And like so anytime dey go online they get off depressed, and u know depression keeps building.

Facebook is not responsible for this, you should hold companies like Tecno, Infinix, Samsumg, Apple... responsible for making smartphones. Let's not forget the likes of MTN, Glo, Airtell et al., they are also guilty for making affordable data available.

Or we could just hold the individuals who get themselves depressed and suicidal over common facebook and whatsapp posts responsible for whatever happens to them.
