Well... I don't think that an organization with plans to recruit quite a large number of staff will consider contacting all referees before proceeding to send an invite, as this has never been an expressly stated criteria when calling for applications.

But, a one-off recruiter may do this for careful reasons, which I like to disagree with it. Otherwise, referees won't traditionally be the last thing on a Resume. It being the last thing I want to believe it should come last after every other requirements have been met.

In my own conclusion... adding referees should be subjective and discretional as there might be a misuse of other people's information.

I think it's better to leave that section at 'Available upon request". Especially when it's going to consume much space (or increase the number of pages). And also, for the sake of privacy, it's advisable to leave it for the appointed time.

My question:
Is it not possible that HRMs can contact your referee before sending you an interview invite? When that section has 'Available upon request', how then are they to contact your ref?

Karl, I asked my friend about that stuff and he told me he wrote the test some months back (around Sept - Nov), he didn't make it past interview stage, was dropped.

In the first place, the application I sent to the Company showed me "Not delivered" on my email.....

I re-sent it three times yet each of the times I got a mailer daemon reply saying the sending failed.

So I was shocked when they called me for the interview last year Dec cos as far as I was concerned the mail no deliver....

So ryt from the invitation Jehovah hand don de inside I tell u.

Fast forward to preparing for the interview...

I saw info abt the job on NAIRALAND (that's how I knew abt the company) so I went on NL and searched for info for preparing.
Saw some helpful info for the first interview..I jack scarra....

Only to get there and the pattern kinda changed o

Chai.... Well sha... God win, I pass that stage. Got invited for the second...

Now the people on NL didn't proceed to the second stage so I didn't have any inkling of idea on what to expect... Na so I sha try shaaaaa....

And then thank God... God still win.... Invited to last stage.

For the last stage na dia I confuse die... Cos de don already ask ALL the regular interview questions for stage one and two...

So I no jus know wetin to expect.... Na so I start to kill myself once more... Jack all the jackables abt the company, study all the mechanisms of their drugs, how it works, where it works,competitions, sample presentations, evry evry.....

Lol and behold, I reach dia panel of 5 judges on a long conference table, na so dem ask me "Tell us abt urself.... Introduce yourself"...

My brain just knock cos the first thing on my mind was" shuuuu I don tell una yesterday na "...

Na so I start to fumble, de talk from jericho to Nigeria all the unrelated unconnected information one can ever be rambling...

At a point the man say "I put it to you that you don't know what you want!"... At a point all of them de laff me... At a point ehnnnnn me I jus know say I don mumu myself die!

I was seriously in correct tears while on my way home...

Prayed and Prayed and Prayed and cried.

And very miraculously, yesterday evening, I got their text saying I was successful, see where I wan mad na...

Chai.... I'm madly excited ryt now....

And really I feel it's a job Jehovah my God has given me by himself...

Hello,

Normally, your referees are suppose to be on your résumé for Entry Level positions (0-2 years). But some HR personnel's would give you a form to fill your referees details and send them a mail or an hard copy attestation form.

I have not followed this process but I have a friend who applied for one Dangote Engineering graduate trainee post or so and was asked to bring letters from his referee attesting to his dynamism and teachability and whatever other qualities there is to lavish on him during the recruitment exercise.

Can you help me get details of the bolded from your friend? Like, when the recruitment is done and/or the requirements for application.

I have that "References are available on request on my CV"

I had references on my CV, then an HR person told me to remove it and put references are available upon request. That the organisation you're applying for will demand for your references and that one's CV has to carry only one's details, nothing else.

When you indicate, "References/Referees are available on/upon request", how then are you to present the contacts of your references? Is it by getting a letter from each of them recommending you or by simply writing it down for them (the HRs) on a piece of paper? *** I know the writing it down kiniko might sound funny but, please explain.

Yes they were cantilevered, and the top bars were returned clearly over the beam, running for another 1 meter across the beam position. Additionally, there are supports on both sides of the cantilevered section, there is a beam at both ends, an internal beam in the center and a beam at the lip of the cantilever, I may zoom the pictures out late show all these, we will never spare materials when it comes to doing a good job.

If that is so, why are the anchored bars forming the top reinforcement not extending to a good length, say past the closest beam by a certain percent, so as to avoid failure. Forgive me if my eyes are deceiving me cos I can't see the picture clearly.

It's possible your mails end in the spam folder as it happened with mine. Lucky me, I was able to figure it out on time before it got too late.

To start with, do you use a BB10 device?

Secondly, I'll suggest you read about spam triggers. One major one is the use of capital letters in your subject line. If you've been doing that, that could be a reason you don't get called as it may trigger the spam filter which in turn puts your CV in the spam folder.

Do you mean when it's all "uppercase" or when you "capitalize each word"?
