CareerRe: Nigerian Bank Employee Grades by karleone(m): 8:59am On Nov 19, 2015
maximunimpact:
The Nigerian banking industry has evolved to one of the most coveted profession in the labor market, it is not a job for people with myopic vision, if you cannot aspire higher and dream bigger, then you have no place around banking job.

Getting the job is a rigorous search that could be likened to the famous gulder ultimate search, Nigerian banks want nothing short of the best. Unlike what many thinks it’s too demanding and time consuming, it is far from it. Most bankers have one or two businesses to their name running, and everything goes on smoothly.

However the purpose of this article is to outline the steps on the ladder to the top as you start your banking career. Just like every other profession, banks have grades and levels, being promoted is not your right, you have to earn it by working for it.

There are a lot of variables in the promotion process, as there are no clear cut blue print of what guarantees moving to the next level. However certain factors like your performance through appraisal and audit report determines your promotion. Another controversial factor is the “subjective” appraisal from your immediate boss, this means you have to always do what your boss wants in oder to succeed.

Starting from the lowest level to the pick, the following are the grades or levels obtainable in the Nigerian banking industry:

1.Executive trainee (ET)
2.Assistant banking officer (ABO)
3.Banking officer (BO)
4.Senior banking officer (SBO)
5.Assistant Manager (AM)
6.Deputy manager (DM)
7.Manager
8.Senior manager (SM)
9.Assistant general manager (AGM)
10.Deputy general manager (DGM)
11.General manager (GM)
12.Executive director (ED)
13.Managing Director (MD)

These are the thirteen step ladder to the top in the industry, there may be variations between banks on this order, but basically this difference can only be in nomenclatures. So if you want to be a Managing Director in a Nigerian bank, keep up the dream, someone once did and got there.

OP, you killed it there. Lovely piece you wrote there. But, another secret to being promoted lies in the individual. Promotion, to me, is defined as developing the next level performance. This can be simply put as developing the qualities that makes you outstanding and whispers into your employers that you deserve career upliftment or whatever you may call it. This can be achieved through having dress sense (mode of dressing, neatness etc). I've seen a guy, working in an insurance coy, that was denied promotion simply because he lacks dress sense, his junior was promoted in his place cos he dresses smart. So it still matters.

This thing should be banned, infact, commercial "okadas", "keke marwa" should all be banned in Naija or at least in every major city.

They are all pose major health risk - emitting poisonous substance into the air, inturn, causing all sort of health issues.

Weren't we surviving before these things came on board?
All those trucks that are used for carrying gravel and sand, what do they emit? Water? Then we should ban them too....

“The smaller generators have been banned by the Federal Government because it is causing air pollution and destruction of our lungs and breathing system. That is why they have banned it but people are still interested in smuggling them in, that is why we intercepted them. “If you go to the market, you still see them because people have imported them before the ban. So it is the leftover they had before the ban that they are selling because the law did not backdate the ban and it is not an absolute prohibition. “It is prohibition by trade which means you cannot bring it in large quantity and sell to the public. That is the type of prohibition we have on this but if you buy one piece, Customs will not seize it. “We will not relent in our efforts.

Assuming a solid soil of bearing capacity above 150kN/m2

Assuming water level is below 2m
The following estimate should work well

Foundation:
Setting out : N20,000

Excavation of foundation with a linear measurement of 81m and Excavation rate of N600/m = N 48,600

Strip foundation of about 150mm to 225mm thick, you will need about N50bags of cement, 15tonnes of gravel and 3trips of sand. = N240,000

Foundation block wall, about 1000 blocks of 9'' block, 20bags of cement for mortar and 2trip of sharp sand = N265,000

Filling depend on site conditions... Wise thing to do is to dig your soak away and septic tank then use the sand to fill the foundation.

Dpc of about 1000mm (4'') and a mix ratio of 1:3:6
About 60bags of cement, 15tonnes of gravel and 3trips of sand = N250,000
Excavations are charged based on partitions not meters (1 partition is 3.6m (12 feet)). It might depend on location o. For the DPC, 4" is 100mm not 1000mm.

Don't take the correction personal o. Just want to make things clear. I enjoyed your explanations and I learnt something from it. Hoping to work with you someday.

How can I determine bags of cement and quantity of fine aggregate (sand) and coarse aggregate (gravel) to use for a 15m*10m*0.15m concrete oversite (ground floor). Please show working if it's calculated.

I might not have understood what you wrote up there but, my point lies in the last sentence of my comment. If we have they requirements to travel, kudos to us. I would want to be the first to travel ('cos travelling is my greatest hobby). But as it stands now, I don't see Nigeria owning a spaceship (or whatever) come 2025.

But, be mindful that it's not written anywhere in the world that two company's must shake hands after a contract agreement, but it's done to show acceptance. In fact it's courtesy and it's demanded.
Back to the story, Mr President (HE) should let formal things be formal. If he does it outside the shores of our Great Nation, what will happen if he repeats same here?

Read about the Mars One mission planning to move the first humans to mars for permanent stay by 2025..
they may be many huddles to consider and overcome but its possible..
In order for the crew to survive in Mars, first supplies will needed to be seeded on Mars. This
will allow the colonist have what they need when they land. Robotic
construction might allow living places to be made before the colonists
arrive. A ship with life supports will need to be constructed in earth orbit.
The ship will need hydroponics so that the crew can eat while they are
traveling and first arrive. Once they arrive at Mars, geothermal or even
nuclear energy could be used to power the base and hydrogen fuel cells to
produce water. Communication satellites would also need to be seeded
throughout the solar system so that communication can always be
established, even though it will take several minutes to travel.
Even though there are many hurdle for Martian colonization, it is still
possible. Robotic Mars exploration (mars rover) has paved the way to future missions.
We know how do alleviate some problems, while utilizing other method to
turn a difficulty into an aid. Colonization could even be successfully before
we die, which would allow us to possible be some of the first people to
travel to another planet.
Did I read you say, "Allow us to possibly be some of the first people to..."? Seems you're not a Nigerian, 'cos if you are you won't be thinking of us making that journey. The whites will think first of themselves before considering us. Moreover, we don't have spaceships to aid us in relocating.

That aside! My point is, if you choose to live by your beliefs, then make it a general life principle rather than being choosy. I know you saw some pix uploaded by like minds. It simply tells of one who can't stand on his beliefs. Shaking the Chancellor outside the shores of Nigeria and failing to do likewise all in the name of belief is contradictory.

The Chief Executive Officer, NECCI Limited, a public
relations firm, Mrs. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, has frowned at
President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to shake hands
with his female ministers after their swearing-in.
She said: “It is unethical in public relations because it
portrayed the female ministers as inferior in eyes of the general public.

“If Hillary Clinton (US presidential hopeful and former Secretary of State) is to visit Nigeria today, will our President refuse to shake hands with her in the name of religion? “If you are working for the President, you must be able to advise him in such a way that he will know that your advice is due to the office you holding which you must do with boldness in such a way that the President will earn the respect of the public.

“An expert in public relations should have told him that it is unethical even before the congratulatory hand shake which he gave to the male ministers. A public relations person must not be scared to tell him what will boost the President image and acceptability to the public”.

Hmmm.... I'm impressed cool. You guys demonstrated quite a number of mathematical skills. But I'm afraid, you aren't getting it right cry. And of course you can easily guess the answer wink. Let it be known that you can't use an analytical approach to accurately solve such exponential equation embarassed. Rather, you make use of the graphical approach smiley.
The question is this; how do you use the graphical approach?
step 1: Draw the graph of y = 2^(2x)
step 2: Draw the graph of y = 8x
The x-coordinate of the point of intersection of the two graphs will give you the solution to the exponential equation. In this case, you will obtain x = 2.
Hasta luego cheesy

From my experience as a Registered practicing civil Engr is possible
1. Depends on materials you use
2. Site location
3. Labour cost around the area where the building is to be erected for example some places masons collect N3000, N2000 and even N2500 and labourers collect between 1000 to 1500
When you say Site location, do you mean its proximity to purchase of materials?
