blaise26abj:This has nothing to do with Obi. You will watch as events unfold. |
blaise26abj:Loser. Go and write it down and remember this on May 29th. ![]() |
blaise26abj:You are very daft. What a shame what we breed in Nigeria. Common English. This is even one of the simplest areas in the 1999 Constitution. Seems like you are struggling to come to terms with yourself. I cannot reduce my hard-earned degree in law, the rank of being number 1 student in constitutional law out of over 500 students, and years of experience practicing in that field, just to dance to your jaundiced views of the Constitution. Go and sweat somewhere else. |
favor914:Unfortunately, they cannot change the Constitution to please anybody. Go and write it down and remember it on May 29th. It's never meant to be, if it is never meant to be. My sympathies. |
blaise26abj:You are very daft or mischievous. Go and read the said sections. There is the use of EACH of ....AND FCT. EACH and AND are particular words you must pay attention to. I don't blame the UK for requesting IELTS test before certifying immigrants from developing countries they colonized proficient in the English language. Basic comprehension is a skill. There can never be thugs in the FCT, like you have in Lagos. Why do you think politicians are careful about rigging in Abuja? |
The intention of the draftsmen is what is important here. Now, what did the draftsmen of the 1999 Constitution intend Section 134 sub-section 1 (b) to be? The draftsmen intended the section to mean that to be declared winner, the potential president must secure at least 25% of the votes cast in the FCT. Refer to the HANSARD or transcript of the Constitution Drafting Committee which drafted the 1999 Constitution. The draftsmen CLEARLY stated their intentions there. I am sure their Lordships will have a look at those transcripts. This is because the Constitution is the grundnorm, and it cannot be interpreted against its provisions whether its provisions are unfair or inequitable (refer to Chapter 2, and the moral arguments over the years as to its non-justiciability. Where the Constitution is unfair by its provisions, the hands of the Supreme Court are tied to interpret only the actual provisions of the document until the provisions are perhaps amended in the future) Without the Constitution, there is nothing like the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Supreme Court seats primarily to interpret the Constitution. All other work it does is ancillary, secondary and all derive their legitimacy from the Constitution. Now, it is my position that the Constitution must not be bent to satisfy any interests, whatsoever. If it is, then any administration that benefits from the bent interpretation will be functioning like a military government, an impostor government, a government formed by alien invaders. The Supreme Court must therefore interpret the intentions of the draftsmen of the Constitution to save itself from the desperation of unscrupulous politicians. Both the interpretations of Sections 134, and 137(1)(d) and other related sections must all be according to the ACTUAL intentions of the draftsmen and literal. Take note the Messrs of the Supreme Court. |

Restructure Nigeria with a Vice who hates Igbos of South East but only identifies as one for political convenience. Man has been a liar from day one. Stupid Nwodo. Daft. |
Good English does not equate to sound judgment. Your sense of judgment is very poor Kperoogi. I stopped reading Kperoogi during the APC Primaries when I discovered he was feeding off Tinubu. He has returned again. He has returned again. Very manipulative. So sad there are rarely any honest writers/journalists in Nigeria. |
realestate99:Engaging you further is pointless and stupid. Seems like you are condemned to this fate, after all. My best wishes on this onerous, and obviously impossible task. It could be difficult living in that shithole, I understand, and there really could be no hope again if you miss this opportunity to mount your glorified drug lord and blood-stained assassin. I leave you to your conscience (already seemingly sacrificed on the altar of poverty) and the consequences of that. I am happy, satisified and have better use of my time. As for your drug lord and dark-souled, Machiavellianistic goblin, the Universe will treat him accordingly when the time comes. |
realestate99:Bigoted. That is what you are! With all your education, you cannot wash off your densely tribe-infested brain . I am not surprised. Even Lugard captured his typical African in you: " Lacking in...foresight...thoughts...concentrated on the events and feelings of the moment, and he suffers little from the apprehension for the future, or grief for the past." Sadly you will be disappointed because not all non-Igbo Nigerians from other tribes, including me, reason like you. Grow up, there is so much life has to offer than a glorified drug lord, scavenging on poor people's money, killing and bribing his way to power. Unfortunately, he will hit rock bottom this time around, and there is nothing you can do. |
realestate99:Very daft of you to think I am Igbo. Very tribal, prebendalist mind of yours, unrefined and chaotic. You should do some soul-searching. With all your beautiful mind, this is all you can to settle for. As long as your tribesman is there. There are millions of poor, out-of-school Yoruba brethren who are looking up to you to save them with your good judgement, but you choose to use your privilege to prevent better governance ever coming their way. I believe the Universe will visit you at the right time, whether or not the drug lord wins. Shame!!! |
If there is no marginalisation and there was no Civil War, do you think Lagos would have matched Anambra State? They owe you a load of shit for not respecting their turn to be President. Even if they should owe any votes, it should be to a sane and good-hearted Yoruba man, and not a ramshackle, doddering, crumpled and dark-souled drug lord. You will not win so that Nigerians will not raise children who will believe there is no reward for pursuing good and non-criminal acts. |
Cromagnon:Basking on looted funds. Thief! Only God knows what he did to get that ALMIGHTY post. He thinks too much of himself. He should chill. Very inconsequential; goes about parroting as if he is the only person that knows how to DISHONESTLY permutate. I used to listen to him, but discovered he is very manipulative. To hell with his dishonest and stupid analyses. Very foolish of you to think everybody on Nairaland is as useless as you. |
Chidoka manipulates his gullible followers for his own gain. Fraudulent and intellectually dishonest. I knew this right from time. Jobless political idiot. What did he do with his Ministry of Aviation? Peter Obi will win, and there is nothing he can about this. He and his PDP cohorts are warming up again for the next round of looting, but they will fail and he will continue to remain a shadow of his former self. |
Rotten country |
Medicine after death. The same constitution they breached by choosing Atiku against the party's rotation principles. The parties will end up in court, and before they know it, the election would have been over and Atiku and the party losers. Don't forget Wike, a life bencher, has sympathisers in the judiciary. PDP should just close their eyes and lose the elections because they have lost it already at the center. On the other hand, what I have realised too, from my random sampling of people over this year, is that so many Nigerians are secretly Obi-DIENT. Those polls in favour of OBI are actually very correct. |

AFRICA IS CURSED, I THINK. THE WAY PEOPLE REASON. DAFT. ATIK7, A PROVEN CRIMINAL IS EXPERIENCED? |
olakan22:Why are you asking? |
Those law firms need to be taught a lesson with this case. That's how they go about snatching clients from young lawyers, over rating themselves. The same clients the other lawyers have been managing long before they took notice of the clients' existence. Greedy lawyers. Left for me, they should scrap that SAN title, and allow all lawyers a level-playing ground. With that, young lawyers will have a great chance to succeed. Nigeria is perpetually buried in corruption. What a shame! |
" Channels TV Politics Today programme on Friday, July 15, Shettima said" Fake news. It is still 3.36pm Friday, 15th July. Channels TV Politics Today programme holds every 7:00PM Show me the video link and I will delete my comment. The reason why Nairaland has not grown since it was founded is because its views and what it promotes is not different from those held by its founder Seun. |

watersideboys:At least I'm not daft like you. Empty head wey na only buhari dey live inside your head. |
watersideboys:You're not stupid youre useless |
Look at the boy's face, sullen, not happy. They want to cut out one of his kidneys to support his daughter, so that he may be doomed for the rest of his life. His God is on his side. Evil people. As a parent you watch your kid's organ cut out because you are poor. Very painful. Ekweremmadu should remain in jail for the next 20 years. |
Buhari should support a person who should be able to pay back his loans. I know he is very daft, insecure and clueless. Imagine being a president for 8 years and someone who was governor as far back as 2007 came and staged a political coup against him. It shows he has never been in charge. He had been hiding from public attention because he is clueless. |
He is probably over rating himself. That you are a Nollywood actor doesn't qualify you for even APGA House of Assembly seat. He is so full of himself, and should be calming down. He talks too much. |
Chimamanda is an awesome person, no doubt. However, I think she should write a story about how the victims she wrote about in the "Half of A Yellow Sun" are now being denied a chance to produce Nigeria's next President. She built her life from that story, and must continue to pay allegiance to the victims of that story. She couldn't even support Peter Obi publicly who was all over the place during her parents' burial. If it is to write a story for Obama or interview Hillary Clinton she would be all over the place doing it over-zealously. |
It will become glaring that PDP will lose this election before August, this year. Just watch and see how things will play out. |
With Rivers State money abi. Let him contest again in 2027 with this quantity of money he spent. Peter Obi will forever be more accomplished, fulfilled and relevant than he would ever be. Who remembers Odili today. They should train lawyers to have business and strategic sense. He lacks strategies and plays his cards away very easily. If I were him, I should get a friend like Peter. Peter is a very strategic business man. Well grounded in the principles of Marketing and negotiations. I won't be surprised if he wins the general elections Buffoon Wike. They should train lawyers in the art of business. Everything is not human rights activism. Wike is so naive business wise. Julkanade: |
