I think GTCO is more prudent in the management of their resources (or maybe they are stingy ) GTCO spent 45.097bn on employees while Zenith spent 124.415bn. The bolded is also a factor... Zenith. 393 branches and GTCO. 235 branches. Thanks for the input... BabsO2: Zenith has more expenses than GT. Zenith reported 8,165 employees, while GT reported 5,487 employees. Perhaps due to more branch network. |

You just echoed my thoughts. I've spent a couple of hours perusing the AFS of both Coys and the more I look, the less I seem to understand. Some differing metrics: Net interest income GTHC 436.6bn Zenith 736.1bn PAT GTHC 539.6bn Zenith 676.9bn Can anyone she'd come light on this? Thank you Mpeace: I wonder why gtb sells higher than zenith. Forget about the whole OS thing. |

BREAKING
NERC Approves N225/KwH Tariff Hike For Electricity Consumers
Only 15% of consumers affected
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved an increase of 300 per cent electricity tariff for Band A consumers in the country.
Accordingly, power distribution companies (DisCos) will be allowed to raise electricity prices to N225 ($0.15) per kilowatt-hour from N68 for urban consumers this month effectively from April 1, 2024.
Vice chairman of NERC, Musiliu Oseni, who made this announcement in Abuja, however, clarified that the rate increase will only affect 15 per cent of the electricity customers in the country.
Oseni also revealed that these customers, who represent 15 per cent of the population, also consume 40 per cent of the nation’s electricity.

Some people hype stocks because they want to cash out. Others do so because they have privy information. Others just want to say something to be relevant... At the end of the day, each of us is the MD of his/her portfolio and should do your due diligence because when/if it goes south, every mallam will hold his kettle... Just like a thief is called suspect until the judge pronounces judgement.... essentialone: Why do companies use the word 'Proposed dividend, instead of Declared dividend'?
Can shareholders actually cancel, increase, or reduce the dividend declared, during the AGM?
Or is the word Proposed used just as a form of jamboree formality? |

I believe that they are correct in using 80million units instead of 7.5billion. The AFS was for 2023 and the listing (of additional 7.42b) happened in 2024. That's the only way I see sense to the figures... emmanuelewumi: Transcorp Power had about 80 million shares before listing, bonus shares given to pioneer shareholders increased the shares to 7.5 billion.
But the company decided to use 80 million shares for their EPS calculation instead of 7.5 billion which is the current outstanding shares of the company |

The BDC game is something Mr Y. Cardoso is very familiar with. He has displayed tact and acumen in handling the DD-SS connection. Now that the market is flooded with USD, the price has to come down to reflect economic realities... Next focus for the govt should be stopping reducing oil theft and government borrowings then we are good emmanuelewumi: Check on your "dollar gang friends" |
