You echoed my view on fixed instruments (the bolded). Though I also use them. As a matter of fact, I recently used some funds for fixed instruments late last year. If I had done JIJO with those funds during the recent bull, I know what I would have gotten. Whoever is more comfortable with the LESS RISKY might be inclined to go for such... Streetinvestor2: Even with the rate hike. Most successful fixed rate offers has been revolving btw 19- 20 %. It is not a big deal because I once did 18% during gej government when economy was far better |

As much as I commend your message, I have a feeling you do not care about 'small scale traders' and you do not hide that feeling. However, a closer look at this quoted message shows that you actually are open to TRADING & INVESTING. All you seek is the one with the highest YIELD and lowest RISK. 200k is big money if it can be made every day (that's roughly ₦6m p.m.). This is at variance with someone who is growing his/er portfolio solely on dividend. S/he go old for there Like @Ositadinma said, one thing is certain: every price movement is an opportunity to make money (either passive as price appreciation/dividend or active by trading/ JIJO). All of the above have their fair share of RISK. To each mallam his kettle... Ades1: Nothing is wrong if you have decent capital to invest. My point is N170k you profit today, can be lost in the very next trade. Even the jijo master Loco has said his ultimate goal is dividends.
My message was the RISK/REWARD part of trading. If you can get it right 90% of the time by all means keep at it. Who here has 50m and is risking it for 12% or so, when they can get 6-10% RISK FREE ?
We all dey this market, 5 years ago lots of us were young, small timers and saw N200k as big money, 5 years in, I have outgrown it, 200k can't even shake the portfolio again. The same thing can be said about every INVESTOR who kept at it for the last 5 years.
Traders on the other hand, are still hustling for the same N200k they hustled 5 years ago. I made my intentions known from my very first post, I am not here for small money, I am here for HUGE amounts |

There's a very slim probability of catching the knife without getting hurt... Mankind2024: The Breweries present a falling knife phenomenon. What does it mean to ‘catch a falling knife’ in trading?
There’s a saying on the trading floor in Chicago and I’m sure it was on other trading floors: “Don’t add to a loser”. That was always considered completely taboo.
You’ll also hear it called: “Catching a falling knife” in some circles. I know people who are constantly averaging down to better prices in stocks and commodities.
Some commodities are down 44% on the year and continue to fall and some people are saying: well, ‘X’ commodity is constantly in deficit, so I’ll average down to a better price.” They’re catching a falling knife and if you can visualize that, it’s not a good thing to do.
Not many people know this, but when a stock or an asset or a commodity makes a low, it’s more likely to make another low, statistically, than for it to stop at that point and turn around. |

Money does a lot to people. It is not news that we have lots of millionaires (and decimal billionaires on this platform). One thing that unifies us is humanity: we are all humans first before we make (or acquire) money I joined this platform sometime in November 2023 and some members took me for an old user with a new moniker while quite a few thought I was a newbie to stock trading. Undeterred, I continued dropping the little I know while picking up a few doses of knowledge on the way Anyway, I have come to realize that you can neither know it all nor have it all. If you hold on to knowledge/information (which should benefit many), it is not as useful as when it is shared. The fact that this platform is faceless should be a good thing but... |
