Over the years, if there is one thing I have been consistent at, it is advocating for the development of the Nigerian nation by the political class who are the ones, who in most cases, either by hook or crook get themselves into such offices. Hence we haven't had a people oriented leadership over these years largely.

The terrible quality of our electoral system has consistently deprived us of having political leaders who climb to the stage of leadership solely on the popularity of such candidates and their various manifesto.

Lately, many young South Eastern youths with gullible minds have been manipulated so meanly by the members of the political class, who choose not to use the resources entrusted into their care to develop the region, to believe that we should barely ask these politicians of their stewardship while we look onto the Federal government as the people that have so worked hard to prevent us from developing.

What an irony, considering the fact that most of the contracts in the South East are executed by Igbo people and the Governors.

Does it occur to you that the Eastern Railway corridor is non active for the longest of time I can remember when compared to what it has the capacity to deliver?

The Eastern rail route is the route that connects Port Harcourt, Aba, Umuahia, Afikpo and Enugu from where it moves up North to Maidugri.

However, it is worthy to note that the rail line connecting Lagos and Ibadan is up and running effectively in terms of Nigerian standard just as we have it from Abuja to Kaduna.

While I would commend Senator Victor Umeh of the Labour Party for calling the attention of the Senate President Chief Godswill Akpabio, to such a neglect, with the support of thirty one (31) Senators, we must have our Governors in the South East put pressure on the Federal government also to see to it that this project is executed perfectly.

Senator Hope Uzodimma and Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo must also endeavour to do what they would have to do to get these rail lines to cut through their various States in the interest of their citizens.

Most annoying in this whole conversation is that the Port Harcourt - Maidugri gauge that is being fixed which cuts through the South Eastern States of Nigeria, is a narrow gauge as opposed to the Standard gauge which is what we should be talking about at a time like this.

Often times I wonder if we are retrogressing or growing.

The benefits of rail transport are acutely enormous and we must be deliberate about demanding that our leaders makes these infrastructure available for us the masses, as it would always boost trade and commerce while also making sure that goods and services are moved from a point to another seamlessly as this would help integrate us further as a people seamlessly.

A Senior friend of mine who is widely travelled, who also is a Professor told me so much about rail transport in Europe, such that I got soo emotional at why we can't still boast of basic train services here in Nigeria, before we can even talk about speed trains.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must as a matter of urgency make this mode of transportation functional while the South Eastern Governors must make sure that they support the Federal government on the development and rehabilitation of the narrow gauge rail line since having the standard guage seems like asking for too much and most importantly, make sure that the rail tracks in their states are protected from theft and vandalism.

We the citizens must ensure that we hold the political class accountable. Moreso whenever they deliver on worthwhile projects, we should always be here to smartly applaud them.

NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARE NOT ALL ABOUT FRAUD AND PRIMITIVE DISPLAY OF WEALTH ACQUIRED THROUGH CRIMINAL VENTURES; SOME ARE RAISING THE BAR OF EXCELLENCE.


So one of the days in the past week, I was scrolling past through the streets of Facebook when I saw that one of the very enterprising young men I have admired in recent times, has just been honoured with what we can call a “Hall Of Fame Award” by the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Owing to what we are now used to as Nigerians, I am not one person who easily gets excited when an award is presented to anyone who can “afford such awards” or randomly offered to "undeserving" people in power, in exchange for favours which are yet to be sought.

This particular award has refused to fall into the category of those awards that I normally do not pay close attention to, because the numbers of recipients for this, were visibly few which says alot about its quality as not an all comer's affair, as you must have been seen and proven to have contributed actively to the growth of the institution in a way or the other, to be so honoured.

When we look around our African society, some of us are consistently challenged with the reality that the people of extreme means in our midst would derive utmost fulfilment from routinely throwing around and showing off their wealth at social functions, than to use such humongous resources to support worthy courses in the society like provision of certain infrastructure for the public or support worthy courses in the academia or health sectors of the nation’s economy.

The recipient of this award in this case, Mr. Ekweoba Arnold Ebuka, an Aguleri born entrepreneur who has spent the larger part of his life in Awka Anambra State, must be commended for daring to think of ways to advance learning at his alma mata thereby improving the quality of life of others while also going harder at his real estate business with the renowned Arnold and Associates brand, which he has used to offer so many of his fulfilled clients a lifetime of happiness, fulfilment and invaluable prosperity.

We must be intentional about celebrating men of Mr. Arnold Ekweoba’s disposition found in our various communities, as this is the one of the major ways, we can have our South Eastern society transformed beyond words just the way we have been screaming for.

Having spent a day with this real estate whiz kid who has achieved so much in business, some days ago, I can assure you that not so many people would still wish to be like him, after seeing what he goes through to close deals and make sure that functional and excellent projects are developed for his clients by his company.

He literarily goes over and above, stretching himself to unimaginable limits to make sure that his clients are served with only premium quality services, when it comes to what Arnold And Associates offers.

Truth is, for this young, hard working serial entrepreneur who has consistently put in the work to be where he is now, he definitely didn’t arrive here by a sudden flight, as it has been a result of compounded years of effort and commitment to excellence, I dare say.

As a remarkable philanthropist of this worth, we ought to encourage men of his ilk, as we cheer him and his team on, to do so much more for our society, because in such acts of this quality, lies the development of our society.

Owing to some of these projects of his, which I saw in Awka Anambra State, I am in a good position to tell you that this young man is one of the major investors in the State, alongside so many other real estate developers like Nonso Smart Okafor of Reapfold Properties Limited, Mr. Chukky Ezenwa of Dubai Estate Awka and others, as this gives me hope for a South East that we all would be proud of tomorrow.

His residential mansion which is not easily accessible to strangers because of water tight security measures is also located somewhere in Agụ Awka. We must be deliberate going forward to bring our akụ home as ndị Igbo.

Mr. Arnold is happily married to a beauty queen who is also committed to achieving her dreams in her choosen career and they are blessed with a child. Mr. Arnold is a lover of knowledge and has acquired alot of certifications which places him in the premium position of a professional real estate developer.

Congratulations Odogwu Nwoke, na ife agbalụ n'ụzọ eteka. You remain one of the most jovial, easy going and smart young men I know.

I must finally commend the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Charles Esimone and critical members of his team like Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu one of the most erudite of scholars for this initiative. This is an excellent way to go.

The other day, I was at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi 's gate taking note of branded vehicles that were conveying students from the many schools of Nursing located in Anambra to the hospital for their mandatory Clinical posting.

In the South East, Anambra State seems to have the highest numbers of Schools Of Nursing in the entire region to a very large extent.

When you add up the Departments of Nursing Sciences in Universities which offers Degree in Nursing Sciences, Midwifery and some other qualifications in Nursing after a five years duration study in precisely Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, it becomes clear that Anambra State and the other South Eastern States maybe world apart in that regard.

It is beautiful to know that NAUTH which is Federal government owned tertiary healthcare centre has it's own Teaching Hospital and also supposedly COOUTH too, which is run by the State government.

These above descriptions above leaves Anambra State with these following numbers of functional Schools of Nursing and Departments of Nursing in Universities in the State;

(2). Iyi Enu, Ogidi
(3). Nkpor
(4). Ihiala
(5). Amichi
(6). Nnewi (SON & CHS Okofia)

The school of Nursing usually run a three year acutely intensive programme during which these students acquire the basic skills in Nursing practises with which they can work anywhere - a lot of students find it difficult to graduate without academic blemishes from these schools.

The degree programme is a five-year course in the University after which they acquire more certifications a bit more than those who passed through the Schools of Nursing.

Having given a clear illustration of what it means to attend a School or College of Nursing and acquiring a Nursing degree in the university, it would amaze you to know that with your Registered Nurse (RN) License, which you get from the School Of Nursing and the other Midwifery certification you can get in a separate school when you finally graduate from the SON for those who want, all you need is to write the international certification examinations to practice Nursing overseas where the course is a huge foreign exchange earner.

We all know that Nursing pays in hard currency when you practise overseas.

Mr. Peter Obi hate him or like him is a man many people who derive joy in calling him names can never ever be like.

That is just the reality, it doesn't matter how much you may want to deride him and call him names, the man has always been ahead of his time.

He was the man who saw that there would be a need someday of these training institutions, so he handed them over to Catholic And Anglican institutions to operate them, train professionals while his government supported them where it was necessary. That was a master stroke by him and his team.

We know that all the Schools of Nursing in Anambra State might have not been instituted by Mr. Peter Obi but take it to the bank when I say that he was responsible for most of them and he inspired alot of religious denominations to invest in the para - medical training sectors to train these professionals.

Deede Alex C. Otti is my Governor at the moment. It would be good to let him know that courses like Nursing Sciences are high paying skills overseas and it would be beautiful to have such more schools erected in the State and if need be, given to very reputable institutions to manage and train more of our youths in such a field.

ABSUTH Aba and FMC Umuahia would serve for their clinical postings, most effectively.

It really takes leadership to transform a society and we can say that what Mr. Peter Obi did in Anambra State till date is still paying off handsomely when it comes to the numbers of people that have moved from here to overseas who are now sending back money to their families to buy lands, houses and invest in businesses in the State.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital SON and one of the other training school along the Iyi Enu axis from what I gathered has been upgraded to College Of Nursing Sciences status which means that they would have the capacity to offer a broader range of certification / qualifications with a bit more extended year of study.

There is a reason a lot of men seem to want to kill themselves over coming down to Nigeria to marry Nurses. Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to it's justification.

These Nurses also know that in most of these cases but with some exceptions, that they being female Nurses have become the prize and as such carry themselves in the manner some of them lately do.

Moreso, all I am saying is that, good leadership was responsible for this transformation seen in Anambra State Medical education training. If Abia State government is able to replicate this, it would mean alot to our people.

We must also know, that their fees at SON are not that cheap, so if there is anyway this can be addressed, then that would be soo beautiful.

Having an RN, Midwifery qualification and staying back here to practise bedside Nursing where you earn peanuts, to me is more of a misplaced priority.

Your mates are out there practicing and being responsible for their communities, ask around and do the right things in your own interest Guys. It is wrong to be a Nurse and not be comfortable by world standard.

Even if you don't want to be responsible for your community, earn well and live a beautiful life on your own terms.

We now have so many men venturing into the Nursing profession which is beautiful unlike previously where it was for females majorly.

MLS Anikwenze John, a son of an Onitsha based trader was one of our interns at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Anambra State.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital is being led by Dr. Joseph Ugboaja, OON and his Management team and so far they have made very remarkable progress in moving some services of the hospital to the permanent site where massive infrastructure upgrade is ongoing. The hospital hopes to ranks among the first five tertiary institutions by the year 2030.

For the members of my reading audience who don't know what it means to be an intern in a Federal Teaching Hospital, upon your graduation from university as a licenced Medical professional, you are expected to spend a one year period, working under the supervision of your Senior Colleagues in a hospital.

During this period you would be statutorily paid after which you would be given full licence to practise as a Medical professional.

After the internship programme you are meant to proceed to get your NYSC done, if you were able to graduate before the age of thirty (30) years. MLS John most obviously is a young man who would most definitely go for his NYSC programme.

While he was with us, MLS John Anikwenze was an epitome of the word excellence in words and deed. When I engaged with him on a scholarly level, he blew me away with the quality of stuff he is made up of. While on the bench, he is a delight to observe from a quiet distance.

I was not surprised when I heard that he emerged the best intern Medical Laboratory Scientist of his set. You cannot achieve such a fear being a "Happy Boy", only dedication to excellence can grant you such.

Such young men of MLS John's worth ordinarily should be a phenomenal asset to the Nigerian healthcare system but I almost know that with the quality of his brain power and dedication to excellence, we would be here and watch him write international certification exams which I am almost sure he would pass and become a diasporan.

We must be deliberate about legitimately retaining young, brilliant and excessively well groomed chaps like MLS John in Nigeria of today as a nation. We must offer these ones opportunities for growth while we have them become most useful to the system tomorrow.

MLS Anikwenze John my dear Colleague, you are brilliant and extremely built with exceptional character. I love you and I wish you well from the depth of my heart as a Brother. God would make your face to shine world over someday.

Keep up with developing yourself and network massively with the right people, I am certain that you have a massive seed of excellence in you. We would be here to strongly recommend you for greater roles.

The Vice Chancellor of my alma mater had just finished the fourth year anniversary of his tenure as the Chief Executive of the University, for which Dr. Joseph Ugboaja, Senator Uche Ekwunife and many other dignitaries were in attendance. It was indeed a great day.

On our way back to one of the very few Federal Teaching Hospital in Nigeria that seems to be most talked about in recent times, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State, the Chief Medical Director opted to stop over to share a few words for a few minutes with the Distinguished Senator Ekwunife and you already know what the topic would be - Development of NAUTH Permanent Site.

God in his infinite mercy took us safely to our many other destinations after which the CMD stopped over at the hospital although quite late, to attend to some critical administrative responsibilities and also appraise the effect of the JOHESU strike on the operations of the hospital.

Of most remarkable to me, was what played out late in the evening when we were privileged to be ushered in with our Principal to meet with one of the major decision makers/opinion moulders of Nnewi Kingdom, whose international exposure has robbed off on the quality of contributions he has made so far to the development of the permanent site.

What seemed like an evening unwinding session turned out to be a power supply strategy section discussion. For all the hours we stayed up there, a visit which was supposed to be a "how are you Sir" visit, ended up being a "Ochinanwata, I am convinced that XYZ approach would be the best option for power supply for that site".

It was a great evening and it is good to see that the CMD eats, breathes and exhales the Permanent site developmental conversation at all times.

May God bless every leader using their platform to transform the society in a way or the other.

The man in this picture is a Brother and an ally of many years from Ichida but raised in Lagos. The woman in the picture is his wife and known as Mrs. Jessica formely from Isuaniocha who was raised in Lagos, a very private Lady who has gone through alot just for the sake of being a great wife to her husband and helping to see that their dreams of a great life is well birthed despite the challenges of life which has stared them in the face overtime.

Saint and Jessie are both graduates of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, College Of Health Sciences Okofia Nnewi. Their love affair started off while she was still an undergraduate, it was a journey of faith and boldness.

Saint studied Anatomy while Jessie is a licenced Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapist.

None of them is practising what they studied at Prof. Meludu's Okofia, at the moment as they are well established in the market place chasing their dreams.

During the heat of the kidnap in Anambra, they were kidnapped a couple of times when they still used their vehicle but yet they refused to run away from Anambra State. They rather downgraded and left off the vehicles and now use their bikes, after which purchase the kidnap story is now a thing of the past.

They run a financial service business at rural areas that provide banking services to rural communities. They help the unbanked Nigerian rural population in Anambra have access to banking services without going to the banks.

This success of theirs as vendors with MoniePoint matter to me because this is a product of sweat, blood, sleepless nights and commitment to being their best at tasks at all times.

Jessica as it is typical of many foresighted first daughters of Igbo origin, took a chance on my guy even when he didn't look like a million bucks. Saint has always been a hardworking guy who cares least about packaging but whose tongue can talk an Eskimo into buying ice.

You don't meet women like Jessica daily whom despite being a baby girl and mobbed at all sides by guys who have their funds, stay through to a young school leaver who was still yet to get his bearing in life. Anything Jessie gets today is a product of her sacrifices and hardwork.

I am happy for the both of you, ndị nke m and it is my happiness that you both are building from ground up.

As Dr. Joseph Ugboaja, the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Anambra is being honored with a Thomas Sankara prize for excellence as Pan African Icon of Healthcare Renaissance.

On February 1st 2023, Dr. Joseph Ugboaja the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria will be conferred with the prestigious Thomas Sankara Prize for Excellence as Pan African Icon of Healthcare Renaissance.

This award is coming on the heels of many other awards including the recent award on Visionary leadership by the Medical & Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), NAUTH Chapter.

Looking at the trajectory of development in the hospital and it’s impact on the people since Dr. Ugboaja Joseph assumed office barely eighteen (18) months ago, one could locate with precision the rationale and import of this particular award, especially coming from YOUPAD – a reputable Pan African youth advocacy group.

In the face of dwindling government funding, increasing operational costs due to rising inflation and reducing capacity of the people to pay for health services, Dr. Ugboaja Joseph and his team has mustered a mind-blowing degree of infrastructural development at the permanent site of the hospital; a hitherto abandoned site.

He has started and completed so many magnificent structures and many others are in progress. The 21st century healthcare system in most African countries, including Nigeria leaves much to be desired. As a result, almost all the indices of health assessment are poor.

These youthful leaders have come to demonstrate actively that there is every need to engage youthful professionals with requisite academic and practical skills to address the myriads of issues bordering on health challenges facing Africa as a continent. The need for the participation of young professionals in driving this process as opposed to the status quo cannot be overemphasised.

More so, it is a well-known fact that the health care indices for most African nations are outrightly poor and this has robbed off terribly on the development of African nations. The poor implementation of well-scripted policies by health administrators in the continent has also not helped to achieve a wide and full health coverage for the African population.

Various issues face the African health care system which includes but are not limited to; high maternal mortality, poor access to care by cancer patients, extremely low life expectancy, poor health insurance coverage for citizens, poor availability of medical diagnostic services and poor health care funding to enable the building of functional healthcare infrastructure, are some of the hydra headed monsters that youthful and efficiently skilled leadership in the health sector can address.

The above is what YOUPAD has come to acknowledge Dr. Joseph Ugboaja for. Indeed, the ebullient and energetic Chief Medical Director is giving in all he can alongside his team to transform the system.

This is in line with what the Thomas Sinkara Prize for excellence stands for.

The fact that Dr. Ugboaja Joseph is continental in his approach to solving the myriads of health care service challenges bedevilling the system is why a hitherto not basically developed permanent site of the hospital prior to the tenure of the Chief Medical Director has become one huge and massive construction site, where new facilities are being erected daily with the ultimate aim of providing a state-of-the-art building infrastructure for the Medical city.

Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso was a distinguished African leader of his time with a remarkable military background laced with excellence achieved by a youthful leader who led his people in a distinguished manner that is still being talked about today by scholars like Professor PLO Lumumba world over.

This prize of excellence on youthful leadership being conferred on the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH remains a well deserved one as it is an acknowledgement of all that this young African health care administrator is doing with his team to address the yawning gaps in health care service delivery within the African continent within the scope of the limited resources available.

Finally, with men of Dr. Joseph Ugboaja stature in the health sector, we are most
assured that it would just take some time for the tide to turn for good for Africa's health sector.

The eight (8th) day of January 2023 would forever remain one of the most remarkable days in my life so far and the reasons for it being soo remarkable are as follows.

This is the first day that a man who is known to routinely redeem his pledges (Chief Cletus Ibeto), pledged to support the construction of a University of Science and Technology as initiated by his Lordship Bishop Jonas Benson to be located in Nnewi and other projects of the diocese with a whooping sum of N250, 000,000. When I access the video, I would share with my audience.

It is also a day that our Principal choose to have some rest and which by direct implication meant giving us some spare time to play around a bit with.

It may surprise you to know that the young Nnewi International business man who was once a primary school mate of Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor the present Nnewi North House Of Assembly Member and an aspirant for the Federal House of Representatives.

To that brother whose one of his major reasons of stepping out every Sunday to kneel down at the altar is to show the congregants from the sole of his shoe, the designer brand that he is putting on, please kindly scan through this write-up briefly without committing your mind to the content except you want to see another side to living a more fulfilling life of great quality.

To the woman who only takes pride in choking fellow suffering Nigerian citizens by routinely “dropping” of luxury shoe brand names as worn by her man to gain recognition, you may lack the depth needed to comprehend this material I am about to put out here.

Sundays in the South East are somewhat sacred days when everyone is expected to be in the church communicating with their various supreme beings except for the days a set of confused folks based overseas, from the comfort of their various rooms declare “sit at home” for law abiding citizens in the South East, which often grinds every of our activity here to a terrible halt, Church services inclusive.

A gym partner of mine who happens to be a Medical Doctor had just called me over the phone quite early to plead with me to kindly assist him pick up a way bill from a driver at Romchi Mass Transit Park.

Doctors most times by the virtue of the services they render have a privilege of unimaginable access to all classes of people in the society, this is a fact you can take to the bank.

So I assumed that this was one of the products of such accesses.
Little was I prepared for the rude shock that was about to be hauled at me when my friend shows up and in the most reckless manner ever.

When he eventually showed up at the gym, he told me in plain language and quite casually, that these well finished shoes made with exquisite leather that I was looking at were made by a fellow Nigerian, South Eastern based entrepreneur based in Enugu State.

The thought of that gladdened my heart deeply and I immediately took a decision to follow through and find out the owner of this shoe brand called RM - 16.

Therefore, the joy that we must not necessarily have to visit China or Turkey directly or indirectly to get our well-made shoes of choice made me appreciate the craft of this young entrepreneur who is reputed to be a thorough and well skilled entrepreneur who is based somewhere in Enugu – the never die spirit of the Nigerian youth is best only imagined.

On reaching out to this young man who has been in the business since 2016 till date, I was able to connect with a man who has gone through the thick and thin made possible by the Nigerian extremely harsh business climate.

Despite the challenges he has remained absolutely resolute at building a brand that would serve his teeming/quite loyal clients while providing employment opportunities for the staff he employs so as to meet up with the orders which never stop coming in his direction owing to the quality his brand is known for, from all sides of the world.

There are no shortage of talented youths in Nigeria who can play critical roles in the economic transformation of our society from a consumption and importation dependent economy to an extremely productive economy, as long as the political class can effectively provide security for lives and property, access to capitals or grants for startups and promulgate laws to ensure that the monetary policies makes the cost of the raw materials used in these businesses fairly constant and especially for those of them that are imported, shielding them from the fluctuation realities of the Naira against the Dollar which is our major foreign exchange tool.

Anambra Government Inaugurates Anti - Corruption Committee in the State Civil Service.

The Anambra State Government in collaboration with the European Union Rule of Law and Anti Corruption(EU ROLAC) has inaugurated members of the Anti Corruption Committee drawn from the different Ministries in the State Civil Service.

Inaugurating the 84 members at the Office of Head of Service on August 18, the Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Okwy Igwegbe, mni urged the Anti Corruption Committee members to live up to expectations as the fight against corruption must be won.

The Head Service reminded the members that each of them as strategically chosen was to ensure that corrupt practices were totally eradicated from the Civil Service.

The Civil Service boss who is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee of Anti Corruption Committee noted that it behoves on members to ensure that corruption is sniffed out and reported so that necessary punitive measures could be taken against the perpetrators.

She then assured EU ROLAC that the programme will be sustained in the state knowing that the state government has zero tolerance for corrupt practices

Speaking during the inauguration, the State Coordinator of EU ROLAC, Mrs. Josephine Onah outlined the roles of the group which includes working towards the eradication of indiscipline and corrupt practices within the Service.

Mrs. Onah stated that with a drastic reduction in corruption, our dear state would become a first choice investment destination and a one stop shop for investments.

She admonished them to eschew any form of compromise and encouraged them to always follow organisational framework, reporting issues first to the ANSACS Secretariat which would review and then move the case on to the Steering Committee for commensurate disciplinary action.

Mrs. Josephine Onah also noted that periodic checks by the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee made up of State Actors and Civil Society Organizations.

Earlier in their remarks, the Head of ANSACS Secretariat, Tessy Obuekwe Esq. and the Secretariat Lilian Oguchi Esq described corruption as not doing things the right way and enlightened the Committee Members on their roles.

They then charged members of the Anti- Corruption Committee to eschew any form of corrupt practices as they take the lead in the fight against corruption in the State Civil Service.

Also present were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice and the Solicitor General of Anambra State, Mrs. Ngozi Iwuno Esq and other Heads of Departments and Units. MOI.

Having taken my time to study various democrasies around the world with special mention of nations that have moved from the status of an underdeveloped nation to that of a developed nation, one of the very clear reoccurring decimals in their success story have been the quality of leadership they have always had.

Bangladesh, Vietnam and Singapore are very prominent on the global map all because of their ability to have looked at their situations, despite how terribly flawed it was at the moment and transformed same.

The commitment of their leadership over the years to ensure that things are turned around in the most unconventional manner places them at a remarkable place in the course of human history.

Just yesterday, one of the extremely exceptionally gifted Engineers whom is incharge of some of the projects at the Permanent site clearly told the Chief Medical Director a striking thing and I quote;

"In all my years, doing construction work for the government, no one has ever stressed I and my team the way we have been stressed with the NAUTH PROJECT. In majority of my experience of the many past years, all I do is to be given the site and allowed to deliver what I feel is best but with your institution, you are different as your attention to the slightest of details is phenomenal and I am happy that it is all for the best but the truth is that you have stretched us to limits not routinely imagined earlier".

However, it is on record that the Accident And Emergency Unit under construction at the permanent site is a massive structure and would be a unit to be referred to in a few years to come, by the grace of God hence it is pertinent that every energy and human resource available is committed to making this a reality.

Ochinanwata believes in allowing people to do their jobs but also is a huge sucker for committed supervision of task.

Most days, when he chooses to visit the permanent site which we do everyother day depending on his schedule, never has it been heard that we spent a minimum of five (5) hours inspecting the various construction sites and making very striking corrections.

The quality of time spent at the site doesn't take into consideration whether it is a sunny day or a rainy one, with Ochinanwata the Lord's work must go on.

Finally, Nigeria is blessed to have men of Ochinanwata's quality and I really doubt if they are in huge supply, they are known as exceptional performers at tasks.

With the pace at which he is leading the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Anambra State's transformation, it would only be sane to say that what would be achieved in a very few years to come as long as this pace of transformation is sustained, would be phenomenal.

Alot indeed has to do with leadership and this is what we direly need in Nigeria at this time.

As Mr. Ikenna Ifejiofor and his team tirelessly work towards a fully automated factory by deploying the most recent and very best of technologies, it is instructive to know that such a swiftly knit relationship as he has established with Dr. Joseph Ugboaja is possible largely because they have areas of overlapping interest which solely borders on giving the best that could be accessed to their esteemed clients and patients while serving the best of all that is possible to those who make use of their services.

On the 16th of August, 2022 having assembled at our take off point for the day's business, our Principal gives us scanty briefs on the schedule of the day and chief on the day's schedule was his visit to a friend of his who is a visionary and a young industrialist of repute. The entire members of the Protocol team were confused as to whom this man could be but the whole psychological pressure of guessing whom this is, was doused when he finally communicated our destination to us and guess what? The destination wasn't anyone's palatial abode but the factory where the now famous and most desired noodle in the Nigerian market is made, Jolly Jolly Instant Noodles CEO was to be our host for the early morning schedule.

On arriving at the location where every random being would have probably not seen any ray of hope some couple of years earlier, is the location of a multi million dollar factory sitting on a massive expanse of land. Forth came the CEO Mr. Ikenna Ifejiofor, a very tall, dark and not bulky man with a neatly shaved head and beards in the company of an exceptionally beautiful looking Lady who doubles as the CEO's support system, who showed up with him, their palms clutched or locked into each other's. This woman being described here turned out to be his amiable wife. In Military parlance, she is to be addressed as his 2IC.

The Jolly Jolly team ably lead by the CEO whom is an indigene of Akabo Ezem, Uruagu and a son of an honourable father who left behind a distinguished name came forth to receive the young man with whom God is outrightly changing the narrative of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Anambra State, Dr. Joseph Ugboaja who is popularly known as Ochinanwata. The Chief Medical Director wasted no time as they immediately got down to the business of the day which was the tour of the factory facilities.

Therefore, we got into a somewhat technical session where the man whom we had been told made his major mark in motor cycle and vehicle spare parts trade took us on a somewhat scholarly journey where he explained all the processes as though he was the Chief Engineer who conceived and installed the processes processes/schedule. It was most shocking that a spare parts trader as it were who did not go to the University to exclusively study Engineering could get into such a business as technical as this and master it so much like an Engineer who probably has assessment examinations to take on this course of "Noddle production line installation; The most recent trends". The pictures attached tells you so much about the shock and quality of information we were offered on a platter and just as it is typical of the CMD, no opportunity to learn a new thing passes him by despite whether it is being acquired while at a place of convenience or inconvenience.

Mr. Ikenna Ifejiofor made today exceptionally beautiful as he took us through the journey of what he has been through to where he is today and as God wills where he wishes to be tomorrow which he has actively set systems in place to achieve.

Moreso, it is worthy to note that this young, dynamic and innovative industrialist of repute while dealing on Machine and Motor parts before diversifying into noddle production, brought innovations into the spare parts business such that may most likely not be forgotten forever. This attribute of innovation the sole reason behind the improvements on the quality of the Abraham tyres that are exceptionally durable and could still be managed in the case of any puncture to the site of repair without being damaged as opposed to what had been.

Having finished at work today and seemingly crashed all my schedules to make sure that i get into my "empty room" which has always showed so much excitement at receiving me after works everyday, which could be likened to how my Mother jubiliates whenever she hears either in real life or in a dream that I would be visiting Aba very soon.

After the routine, removing my clothes and having my shower which consistently reminds me of the need to effectively acquire my own hand cuff and prison as they say called marriage, I rushed off straight to a "Lady" who has been my best company for a minimum of sixteen (16) years now to see what it has for me, little did I know that beyound the regular information it dishes out to me through the write ups and videos which I consume from its screen, that it was about to remind me incase I had forgotten of a big event that has been scheduled by God Almighty to be commemorated on the thirteenth (13th) of August yearly till the day God Almighty calls the celebrant to come and be with Him which I am certain would be at a very old age.

Therefore, having established that this day is the birthday of a remarkable young man who grew up partly in the village at Ufuma and on the streets of 042 sort of, it dawned on me that stringing the right words to celebrate this enigma of a man would be one of the most difficult responsibilities to execute on a cold rainy day as this, without a warm company.

Moreso, being that I am a young man who gives his all to tasks assigned to me, I vowed to dare to give writing this tribute a trial and the result of that trial is what you are reading now as my birthday tribute to Ochinanwata / Kachisiemeamaka / Ifeomaejiamaatu na NAUTH. The transformational and disruptive leader of NAUTH.

From a not too distinguished background with respect to his parents having very deep pockets, he is the scion of a very committed Catholic Father who was addicted to hardwork, a man with a very lively personality and married to a woman who wears discipline on her sleeves coupled with her unquantifiable love for God, they were able to raise this young distinguished Physician and Adminisrerator of excellence with the help of his Uncles and Aunties who played strategic roles which we can say makes up "the community" that helped raise this asset that NAUTH is blessed with today. [i]Remember that in Africa, it takes a community to raise a child [/i]and most children raised by the community come out soo well just as we can see with this Distinguished celebrant.

A philosopher once made mention of how greatness is bequeathed to some people and how some other people attain theirs through sheer dint of hardwork, it is worthy to know that Dr. Joseph Ugboaja 's was attained by hardwork and the grace of God upon His life over these years.

From being a Senior Prefect at an institution where he had not spent the traditional number of years required to be given such a sensitive position with enormous responsibility during his Secondary school year to his years as a Medical student in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Medical School where he distinguished himself as a star among his peers down to when he was the Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynaecology while on training as a Resident Doctor through to when he became the very first Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC) NAUTH to being the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee ( CMAC) and now to the final destination in a Federal Teaching Hospital where he has been appointed by the Commander In Chief Of Federation of Nigeria it has been a consistent tale of bravado, excellence and continual improvement of the system.

Dr. Joseph Ugboaja is synonymous with performance, capacity, energy, commitment and a stubborn will to do the unthinkable in his bid to continually improve the system. He is one who believes that anyone who works hard enough in any system should be rewarded effectively by such systems.

Wherefore, having watched him writ in pains at the loss of some projects that were supposed to be cited at our permanent site, to the frustration of having a very tall infrastructural transformation dream with the least of resources to execute them, I have been in the room to see some of his very bad days and also been around too on some of his very jubilant days where he struck very big wins, it is no fluke when I say that Ochinanwata had long been predestined for this day and all that are manifesting at this time. The beauty is that he came well prepared for the job.

Finally, I am well aware and would not be surprised when he would manifest fully as a star that he has been created to be. The world definitely has been preprogrammed to host one of its very finest of guests in the person of Ochinanwata and for the period that he has been assigned to carry out his task on this space, be rest assured that of all the institutions that he would ever touch, they would tell so much about the kind of man he is. We are most convinced that the results of his administrative excellence would be there even after he has left those institutions to speak for him.

Dear Chief Medical Director / Principal, it is your day and it is my wish to say happy birthday to you and pray for God to bless you in ways that we as humans would not effectively comprehend talk more of to narrate. Emelda Ezeude - Ilika is our most beloved queen of inestimable value, a co-owner to Dr. Valentine Chidi Ilika 's throne.

She is a Nigerian and UK licenced Nurse of exceptional repute, a Lady that is skilled at what she does to all of extents, a Knightingale Soldier who has shown that beyound graduating from one of Nigeria' s foremost institutions of learning with good grades as a beauty queen, that she is also exceptionally beautiful at her craft of caring and helping the sick to go through the healing process.

Anyways this would still not make me prioritise being with a Nurse shaa!!

It is not exactly upto a full blown month that this wife of his after her routine post wedding coital meet and greet bliss took on a trip to her base overseas to catch up with the job which she is used to doing over the years, so expecting to see her within such a short time back in Nigeria was almost an impossiblity in our hearts but then Adazi people are known for their spirit of commitment and determination to see to a logical conclusion that which they are interested in sorting out.

Emelda in her characteristic manner arranged this function while she was far away in Europe while making sure that all the tees and 'i' s are dotted.

The quality of her cordination was second to non and having an ally as Ekweoba Arnold Ebuka made it most seamless to execute.

This was a big event and I am happy to have shared in this joy of the couple. There were big announcements made today by the couple anyways and I am happy that they were able to sort this function out most effectively in our security challenged South East after which they left immediately too to somewhere safe from where they would access the external shores of the country.

The bald headed Ozubulu only son with sisters of a minimum number of six (6) was mesmerised to bits today (Comrade in potaux potaux).

When Dale Carnegie of the United States of America made very clear cut remarks on people and how what gives them fulfillment says so much about whom they are in one of his global best sellers called ‘How to Win Friends and influence people’, the image of the NAUTH poster son for excellence came screeching through my mind.

This image of his raced through my mind simply because in a society where there are overwhelming reasons and acutely verifiable facts to justify all forms of non-performance in public offices as a result of lack of resources, a dark skinned, energetic, socially conscious Ufuma born but Enugu trained, extremely brilliant and versatile Nnamdi Azikiwe University trained Medical Doctor, an Associate Professor of Obstetrics And Gynaecology, whom having made a very clear mark as an academic, obstetrician and gynaecologist in active service as a soldier of the hospital wards with special interest in labour wards has taken the accolades trip around him several notches higher by the prowess and mind-blowing skills he has brought to the ever busy corridors of administration.

Over the years, we all have known him with the nickname, ’‘Ochinanwata" which loosely translates to “One who started off as a leader at a very early age”. This nickname has seen its manifestations in most responsibilities he has handled with one of his very latest casualties of sweet memories being the responsibility to transform Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching hospital (NAUTH) to being one of the first five (5) tertiary healthcare facilities in Nigeria irrespective of wherever we are now on the grading scale of tertiary Medical institutions in the country.

A few years back most people would have effectively dismissed us as wild dreamers if we had dared to utter the word ever that under a Dr. Joseph Odilichukwu Ugboaja leadership, the possibility of moving the operations of the Teaching hospital from the temporary site where we had obviously exhausted all there is to structural development, to a permanent site where we have the space to erect structures that would depict our present and future reality as an institution, in which the very best of health care services would be rendered to our fellow country men and women would not have been believed to ever come through. The infrastructural transformation at the hospital permanent site has so much to do with the quality of leadership in charge at the hospital and that of the members of the Management board who are stopping at nothing to give the leadership the required support that is needed.

However, on assumption of office the Chief Medical Director who missed being a Catholic Priest by the whiskers having a good knowledge of the holy book understood from the very first day that if he was going to make anything out of this responsibility of leading such a massive institution, that he needed to count the cost and get his tools ready to deliver excellently on the job. This can be largely said to be responsible for the quality of work that has been done in the hospital both at the permanent site and the temporary sites. The young Chief Medical Director is not done yet with what he hopes to deliver but for being articulate enough to know what would be needed to deliver maximally on this project, the resounding success speaks for itself.

Finally, one would be correct to say that it is obvious that giving leadership of exceptional quality is one of the things that spurs the Chief Medical Director on. He derives extreme pleasure and unquantifiable fulfillment in serving his subjects at all times to the best of his ability as can be seen at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH). The destination he is piloting the hospital to is clear to all and it is obvious that in a few years to come, there would be strategic reasons why Nnewi town would be besieged by all sorts of guests who would be here on Medical tourism. Like they would always say, so much starts and ends with leadership.

RANDOM AND SOMEWHAT CARELESS EJACULATORY PHASES OR WORTHY ROUTINE RESPONSIBLE INSERTIONS WITH A COMMITTED PARTNER.

Onye Nka Chi would always stand by this conviction of mine anyday.

As a man who has what he is doing, kindly look around and get yourself a partner or wife once you see one worth committing to..

You see this "mistress industry", it gets frustrating at a time especially once you are passing your very active years as a man. Their goals are usually simple, grant you a bit of sexual pleasure which you must directly pay for and then earn heavily from those affections they sell to you but never would you have them around when the real life issues happen or come crashing...Dem no dey ever send you or your Papa... Having affairs are always more expensive and mentally draining although they offer a form of variety twist to the whole thing but how long does those feelings of excitement last?"

We are Africans and there is how our family fabrics are hewn. Go to most hospitals in Nigeria and check, the older men whom God blessed with wives and majorly beautiful souled daughters are the most catered for in hospitals. Side Chick no send your papa if e m fall sick, she moves onto the next available man to sustain the lifestyle.

This is why I see anyone who argues why they should be looked at as their parent's retirement plan as someone who is irrational, silly and deserving of psychiatric examination especially those of us that our parents went all out to sacrifice EVERYTHING in sight just to give us a good life as much as they could afford.

Having a partner whom you are committed to for life in some cases as they say might be boring for some but trust me when I say that it is worth it. Knowing that you don't have to outrightly pay to be loved back in return or to be cared for is an unexplainable feeling. She just cares, shows loyalty, affection and sincere care just because you are both bound in Holy matrimony. Only your wife can do that for you as a man in majority of the cases without billing you. A good wife's bill in most cases is a blessing to the man as she would inadvertently use same to build the home. I said this up here because once you are doing well as a man, it is upto you to woo a Lady and it makes it more of a man's decision to be or not with a woman than for a woman to initiate such.

For the Ladies, this piece is majorly for those Ladies who are having very reasonable suitors in the relative sense of it but keep acting not disposed to commit to a man because of the much stakes they have in as many men as are available. This post is not in anyway for women who do not have some very strong characters that scare potential suitors away from coming close to them, who are not being approached for committed relationships.

Most times I sit back and watch most of these Ladies and I ask myself in most cases if they understand the implications of what they are doing to themselves at this time. Plastic Surgeon achieved boobs and most prominent ass would all collapse someday, don't forget that.

How would you sacrifice the fulfilment, joy and loyalty that comes with being with a man who is worth it for those Ladies who are so privileged, to being a tool for achieving momentary random "hoolaa - la - laaa ejaculatory phases" for as many men as are possible just because you do not want to be committed to anyone and as such you at freedom to do whatever you like without being questioned.

Beyond the physical activity which culminates in some forms of hormone surge induced melodious sound tracks and energetic reception of the "ima isi ministry", a time would come when the loneliness of being used as a spare option to men who have families would come. Then it would dawn on you that you have wasted your productive years sacrificing what matters, to offering those services that give you access to fancy places to snap very beautiful shots, achieve some powerful iPhone angled "views" from the sea side or possibly get some funds to live the Baby gyal life with, ruo ole mgbe?

A time comes when they all no longer matter especially when you come back to an empty house at above 50 years and yet you don't have your kids (biological or adopted) somewhere building their life or your man coming home to you after work or his international trips. Some would argue that they can make up with family but I beg to differ on this, e get when e go reach, you go know say na only that your sensible Hubby go dey to love, protect and care for you..

The summary of this rant is simple, whenever it is possible for you as long as you earn and work hard, prioritise being with a partner and commit wholly to whomever is so blessed to have you share such a space with them. Nkwughari is more of a distraction that should not be tolerated at all but if you must, always make sure that it is your last of options.

The gains of having a worthy partner are absolutely not estimatable. The beauty that lies in it can only be felt and not expressed.

BUILDING A WORLD CLASS MOTHER & CHILD CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE - The latest addition to Prof. Ugboaja's Giant strides at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Permanent Site.

The conversation about this structure started off as a joke if you ask me some months ago but little did I know that the workaholic of a Chief Medical Director who is popularly known as Ochinanwata means everything he ever says about this hospital's development, with his life even if it delays to manifest. Indeed watching the Engineers doing the laying out for this magnificent edifice that is about to be erected very soon overjoyed my heart, indeed it is a new dawn for Mother And Child Care services in NAUTH.

World over, the health of Mother and Child takes the front burner of policies and government interventions as no society can thrive effectively without taking care of the health of the Mother and Child effectively.

Women go through a lot in the process of childbirth, nourishing and nurturing of their young ones, maybe this here remains one major reason why they are celebrated in and out of season, they birth nations.

Prof. Ugboaja's vision of uplifting the health status of the people of Anambra and beyond obviously cannot be achieved with the capacity of the maternity ward and nursery functional at the old site despite those facilities having been upgraded in functionality, comfort and aesthetics by this Administration led by Ochinanwata lately last year as an interim measure while he chased fiercely the "big fish" which is this particular project that has been secured.

The CMD being an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist of repute understands the need to make the process of pregnancy and delivery (Child birth) a sweet/interesting experience for the women, no doubt that he has committed himself to building a world class Mother & Child center at the NAUTH Permanent site.

According to the hardworking CMD, "Pregnancy and delivery should not be a harrowing experience for our women. Instead, it should be pleasant, smooth and memorable experience for the women. This is why I had to quickly upgrade and beautify our labour suites at the old NAUTH site as soon as I took over as the CMD.

However, to fully actualize our dreams of building a world class hospital, we need to build and equip a standard maternity center to carter for the needs of our women and the children."

According to the young administrator, When completed, the One hundred and twenty (120) bedded facility will house the following units;

- Antenatal Wards,
- Post natal Wards,
- Ten (10) standard air-conditioned delivery suites,
- There will be two (2) Standard operating theaters,
- Special Care Baby Unit,
- Fully furnished private rooms for the Mothers who can afford them.

Like I would always say, with Joseph Ugboaja the barest minimum of the acceptable standard is always excellence.

It will be noted that the ultramodern "MCC Building" is the latest addition to a host of other buildings at various levels of completion at the NAUTH Permanent Site which include;

- Accident and Emergency Complex( Medical & Surgical),
- Renal building complex,
- GOPD,
- Administeration Block,
- Surgical ward complex.

Others are;

- Medical ward complex,
- Radiology/Laboratory building,
- Intensive Care Unit,
- Amenity ward.
- Cancer Treatment Center.

At the rate, the new management is going, it will be a matter of time before NAUTH becomes an International Center of Medical tourism and excellence.

Finally when next you see Ochinanwata NAUTH, tell him that indeed God sees his heart and would use him most mightily for humanity in ways he never believed would be possible. Cheers to a Result Oriented Leadership!!

The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi has once again noted the activities of fraudsters and criminals who extort the unsuspecting public in the guise of offering them employment.

The general public is once again warned to desist from dealing with these criminals as the hospital Management will not be held liable for the loss incurred by anybody who falls prey to the antics of these fraudsters.
