What's d difference's btw instinct and intelligence? I do not think purpose is subjective, since it is tied its usefulness or synonymous.

At least, confessions help clean up 'the almighty' mess.
Christianity Etc › Re: Linear Chance? by Kay17: 9:43pm On Dec 24, 2010
Why is intelligence reflectin only on humans?
Christianity Etc › Re: Linear Chance? by Kay17: 7:07pm On Dec 22, 2010
@ines, its left to ppl who believe in his existence. @ds ds, too many gaps in your god, if since the universe is merely a radiation or a copy of god, then he is a physical being. If he is intelligent, conscious, and emotional; then describe the facilities that make it possible. Is he driven by energy? And why don't u think an inanimate subject is responsible?
Christianity Etc › Re: Linear Chance? by Kay17: 2:35pm On Dec 22, 2010
Being following this for a while. I do think the actual presence of d creator is his best proof. Perceived design could be illusory. As to op, its probable. Complexity could also be owed to chance. Why is there conflict? Them david hume question for what reason is man created and the universe as a whole.
Christianity Etc › Re: Christ Embassy Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome In $35million Money Laundering Scam by Kay17: 6:25pm On Dec 19, 2010
Most cec members believe criticism of the action of their pastors is a sin, but fail  take into consideration that these are men. Thus imperfect!  do believe we should engage in constructive criticism. The news article deserves attention.blind fellowship could β very dangerous.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please I Need An Answer,is Heaven Real? by Kay17: 2:33pm On Dec 12, 2010
Its so difficult  understand Christianity, God is presented as the highest source of good and yet he is the maker of the his greatest rival and biggest evil; the devil. He also commands the worst atrocities, even man shuns.
Spiritual beings? Any evidence?
Christianity Etc › Re: Please I Need An Answer,is Heaven Real? by Kay17: 11:03am On Dec 11, 2010
Also,  ve wondered why a spiritual world like heaven is subject to physical laws like gravity? @ least the NDE guys say so!
Christianity Etc › Re: Re: Congrats Joagbaje On Winning The Religion Section Poster Of The Year 2010 by Kay17: 5:50pm On Dec 08, 2010

Christianity Etc › Re: Re: Congrats Joagbaje On Winning The Religion Section Poster Of The Year 2010 by Kay17: 3:20pm On Dec 08, 2010
@ ds, ur definition 4 god is deficient, rather the most vague idea of god is put forward. Also u ve provided no reason why it is less valid 4 there to be a civilization of eternal gods, which are responsible 4 creation? Why bother with an imaginary solution, when an eternal universe is conceiveble.
Christianity Etc › Re: Free Thinking! by Kay17: 10:47pm On Dec 02, 2010
We need to define Truth. And then seperate it from opinion. Ft, obviously means a licence 4 intellectual cooking which transcends borders of politics n religion. 4 sure religion doesn't grant such free rein. Science is self corrective. Demonstrate religion is such.
Christianity Etc › Re: Free Thinking! by Kay17: 4:47pm On Nov 30, 2010
>>> i used to be averse to Kierkegaard's notion >>> but of recent i realize that he was right in positing that truth is subjective >>> we ultimately measure the kind of truth we subscribe to >>> in light of this I decided that : Truth is absolutely relative and relatively absolute
Subjective truth? You will definitely have the risk of running into contradictions! Reality dwells on in the comfort of objectivity.

Freethinking in relation to religion, is obscured and discouraged. Dogma has already laid the system of beliefs.
Christianity Etc › Re: A Latter To You From Mr Satan by Kay17: 4:29pm On Nov 30, 2010
The letter looks like one that was written by a certain Mr. Yahweh. Smiley
grin grin

The Devil and his 'witches' are unemployed. God with his 'omnipotence' took all the jobs!
Christianity Etc › Re: Oyedepo Has Done Great by Kay17: 4:23pm On Nov 30, 2010
>>> no problem Sad >>> i was like that too >>> before i secured admission into C.U and got to 'meet him' >>> prior to that, my conception of him was from info gotten from 3rd parties (i.e newspapers, interviews e.t.c) >>> what i can authoritatively say is that, despite his flaw, which comes off in the form of his pride, and short temper >>> Oyedepo is a man of vision, who has done more than any soul on Nairaland to better the lot of this country
I do not think, there is any difficulty in setting up a school with the 'money' of others and demanding extraordinary fees. At least most of his members can not afford the school.
Christianity Etc › Re: First African Voodo Captured On Video- Real Odi Eshi! by Kay17: 4:18pm On Nov 30, 2010
I feel about the same way. If this so called voodoo/jazz is real, wouldn't it be obvious?

It more or less has a cure-all effect.
Christianity Etc › Re: Yahweh Again - Deut. 7 by Kay17: 1:25pm On Nov 27, 2010
if the God we are discussing here owns all things, would you then agree He has right to do what He wishes concerning/about them whenever He decides? If your answer is yes, why the argument? If No, why do you have right to make decisions on a daily basis and yet do not believe yourselves demented?
Atheists are often believed to lack morality, since they fail to recognize the authority of God and since he is himself the highest height of morality. That is perfect morality! But when this being bathes in blood and atrocities, we must accept that such a being cannot represent the epitome of morality! He must be a product of a prior imperfect man.

Wherever he's hiding, mankind is light years ahead of him.
Christianity Etc › Re: Voodoo Or Science?: Vote by Kay17: 1:16pm On Nov 27, 2010
So much for voodoo! As said the there is often a conspiracy between the magician and audience. Audience is by collaboration! The sword was not used on any object but by the performer.

The African spiritualist, herbalist and traditionalists were the physicians that kept Africa thriving and surviving as the blooming population we know, up until the white man came along with very dangerous diseases(like Gonorrhea). They were sufficient and provided remedies for all diseases. They had ethic codes, therapy documents, conducted research, shared information and provided the public health education and information.
Like insisting twins are witches?

Like being unable to conquer malaria?

Or the high mortality rate?

If there were such fantasy, wouldn't it be obvious?

The Niger delta rebels buy expensive weapons and tie filthy rags on them as protection, why didn't they just use the rags to fight their battles ONLY!

Liberian rebel kids engaged in cannibalism and voodoo, yet the casualty rate was still appalling.

The thousands of Ijebu warriors with their jazz or voodoo, were destroyed by about 87 British troops with their sophisticated Enfields!

Voodooo is trash talk!

Christianity Etc › Re: Is God Evil ? by Kay17: 10:07am On Nov 11, 2010
Morality is intended to bar actions possible, not impossibilities. The fact that god is omnipotent is more or less a reason to force his actions to be less harmful to all. Zeitgeist evolves, dropping destructive tendencies along the way.

A contradiction I spot in an omnipotent and omniscient god is this, he is omniscient to see the future, so how is it possible to for him to change an action he has in the future.
Politics › Re: What Is Your Opinion On Capitalism? by Kay17: 9:47am On Nov 11, 2010
Tell me whats so wrong with Leninist Communism? If you are a true theorist you would understand that the world is sliding to socialism and then communism- this is unavoidable. It could take 1000 years but a classless world would come into view.
Communism failed!
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheism Is A Religion by Kay17: 1:50pm On Nov 10, 2010
From Mr Uyi's definition, philosophies like Stoicism, Platonism are religions?

Christianity Etc › Re: The Dogma Of Trinity by Kay17: 1:30pm On Nov 10, 2010
It was invented at a council meeting.
@MyJoe, it was not even concluded and clear. They could not belittle Jesus as a mere creation of God, some special status had to be given to him. At least Jesus was seen as a separate entity!

That useless bible supports all the sides in the trinity argument.
Politics › Re: What Is Your Opinion On Capitalism? by Kay17: 1:26pm On Nov 10, 2010
A true Marxist communist system not Leninist! I'm strongly against the political monster in Leninist Communism.

At least we will all agree that capitalism is a step towards the future.
Christianity Etc › Re: Igbos Should Come Back To Their Traditional Religion by Kay17: 11:43am On Nov 02, 2010
Stankoko:
Life is like a book, the more you read, the more you learn. When you discover knowledge, you change and upgrade to the better and that is what I call REFORMATION. It is everywhere and not just in African Tradition. Do the Jews not kill adulterous women in those days? Was it not ignorance, darkness and blindness? But Christ reformed it. Did it stop the Jews from practicing Judaism? Abraham nearly killed his only son in the name of sacrifice. So, we no longer endulge in human sacrifice because we have reformed.
Then you are more or less creating a religion.

Uyi Iredia:
@ topic >>> so, so sad. The Inquisition was a dark period in history_along with the World War_ but that shouldn't count to
dispose of Christianity as the sole source of humanity's ills; juxtaposing this to the Cold War the ills perpetrated by Communists doesn't mean that Communist thinking doesn't offer some real apt points to solving economic problems.Christianity is also a means of good.

@ Kay 17 >>> what's your beef with Luther ? The guy was good. We still have 'morality issues' to discuss
yeah, its history. But exposes the extreme intolerance, Christianity bears. Mass Murder, pitiful!
