Same problem here... Airtel network, BB Z10, default blackberry browser.

Seems the problem's been unsolved for months now. I'm not IT guru but perhaps shocker007's suggestion about IP handling has some merit...

my thinking is?
what is preventing the white Walker from just going around the wall ?
I remember one side of the wall ends at the oceans they could just go there and sail around and voila them Don enter westeros.
Perhaps the reason is a lot simpler... they can't swim.

There's no textual evidence either. The Red Wedding planned by Tywin was to be an arrow shot at Robb Stark, only Robb Stark, while the other nobles be taking as prisoner. If Littlefinger knew anything about it, that was what he knew. The Red Wedding that actually did happened was planned by Roose Bolton and Lame Lothar Frey, they escalated the whole thing to killing everyone.

"It was to be an arrow, at Edmure Tully's

"So Lord Walder slew him under his own roof,

No point saving a dead man, rather use his death to advance your position. Halfman was a warrior, he knew this and he used his death to advance position for Jon Snow among the wildlings.

that's a very good tactics o. very devious! Captain Flint did the same but in limited capacity in Black sails season 3 finale. go and read "acts of war". a good war tactician or general is one who is willing to do the outrageous and the unexpected. in war there is no fair play, no cheat.

during world war 2, the Japs nearly crippled the united state's navy by sacrificing a lot of their air force. if not for the tie breaking atomic bomb, japs could have possibly invaded the west coast of the united states.
This is probably derailing, but get this: The Japs didn't have strength of numbers; Ramsay did. The Japs didn't have a solid fortress to relax behind and wait out the winter in comfort; Ramsay did. The Japs weren't better provisioned and equipped; Ramsay was. As for invading the West Coast of the U.S... that's just laughable. I'll rather suggest we leave out history and just keep to GoT.

They are not mutually exclusive. You can be a tactician and still be a sadist. Didn't you see how he made Jon do exactly what he wanted? He is a good tactician.

Remember how he won the war against Stannis before it even began? How he used reek to gain his father's trust?
I don't agree that Ramsay was a good tactician - slaughtering his men along with Jon Snow's was certainly not the best TACTICAL thing to do, remember he had the strength of numbers, plus a solid castle behind him. But I must admit that he holds the ace when it comes to "reading" people. He knew EXACTLY where to push Jon Snow in order to get him to attack first.

Thank you, Luxanne. I don't even understand why they're hating on Sansa. Her sending for the Tully army was an act of desperation, and even then, there was no certainty that Little Finger would deliver.
Yes, there was no certainty, but she could have AT LEAST told Jon about it. Consider this: Jon Snow chose to side with his former wildling enemies when a greater threat came; do you think he wouldn't have accepted LF if it could give him a chance to beat the Mad Dog that has his brother? Of course we viewers already knew Rickon was a goner, but still...

My own view is that Sansa is compromised, and its all thanks to LF. Starks are known for being honest and upfront; these are qualities Sansa will never recover again.

As Jon Snow himself, I'm just disappointed with him... disappointed but not surprised.

Gendry is dead and the only way a bastard can be legitimized is if the father does that or if another legitimate heir wills his rights to the bastard. The way it is now, non of that can happen with any of Roberts bastards.
Dude, get your facts right; if you are not sure, say so and others can help you check - or better still don't even say it all. angry Arguing for arguments sake is just bad manners, please.

1. Gendry was smuggled out of prison, set on a boat, and set free by Ser Davos in the last episode of Season 3 (Mhysa). Unless you have watched an special episode somewhere where he was confirmed dead....

2. In Westoros, ONLY Royalty can legitimize a bastard/baseborn, emphasis on legitimize. The father/parent (who MUST be high-born by the way i.e of noble-birth) MAY make the request to the King/Queen, but the King/Queen can choose to refuse (OR legitimize someone else entirely if the Lord is dead and didn't establish who succeeds him). However, whatever the case, it only becomes recognized AFTER the King/Queen puts a seal to it.

- The Crown (King Tommen) legitimized Ramsay Snow after he delivered Moat Cailin (although I'm still not sure if his father Roose Bolton made the request or not).

- Case 2: King Stannis offering to legitimize Jon Snow when it seemed all the male Starks where dead (Note that there was STILL a female Stark - Sansa).

Still on the matter, just imagine the way she killed all those Khals in their own domain. Would Khal Drogo have gone like that? I mean, these are supposed to be seasoned warriors. I know that a warrior would rather take his enemy down with him than die alone. This is the major issue I have with GoT this season. They shouldn't have died in such a pathetic manner.

Same thing i asked, would Khal Drogo die burning and scrambling at a blocked door, while the cause of his imminent demise stands less than 2 arms length away? And please nobody should gimme that "she was surrounded by fire" bullcrap...

Obsidian is a naturally formed volcanic glass. I doubt that it has any 'magical properties'. Granite and Obsidian are both naturally formed from Lava. Only one of them is associated with dragons.

The key thing here is to note that both are associated with Dragons...hence 'heat'

Obsidian - Dragonglass
Valyrian Steel - Dragon flame

The theme is repeated several times in the series...most notably in Quarth when the masked woman described Dragons as 'Fire Made Flesh'.
As you know, Danaerys is strongly associated with Dragons, and fire.

Conversely, the White Walkers are also Ice made flesh...as we see them shatter into Ice when they die. This also empasized by their ice blue eyes, icy skin, Icy crown, and their icy environment.

Basically anything described as Dragon-related in the GoT universe is symbolic of extreme heat...Just as the White walkers are symbolic of extreme cold

Fire vs Wight = Lv1
Dragon anything vs White Walker = Lv2

I'm done with the explaining
You're building quite the House of Cards here, brother... It even has Levels 1 and 2? smiley cheesy

Regular steel swords cannot Kill a Wight or White Walker, just a regular rock cannot kill those creatures.

Valyrian steel is forged with Dragon flame. Obsidian is called Dragonglass

This association with dragons implies that they have extreme heat as imbued attributes

So basically fire to deal with the minions and 'hotter items' to deal with the ogas at the top.

Ujs*..*
"the way a man chooses to live his life shouldn't b termed stupidity..." Ok, good point there, I admit. But there's this definition of stupidity: Doing something the same way over and over, and expecting a different result. The ironborn have been reaving and pillaging for thousands of years, and each time they attempt to forge further inland or hold territories on the mainland, some (mainland) lord or king comes around and beats them all the way back to Pyke. Even Balon tried it just after Robert Baratheon took the Iron throne, and he lost all but one son to it. And yet there he was trying it again during the War of Five Kings. But hey, we all know how that ended when the Boltons showed up, don't we? Now if that's not stupidity, then I don't know what it is.

Oh, and yes, I have read the books. Euron has a "grand plan" that Victarion is supposed to make happen, innit? Abeg jor, tell me something else. smiley

We probably shouldn't assume that this will be the only time loop in the series. Maybe Bran has also caused other problems that we haven't traced yet.
Time loops always make a messy storyline... and rarely looks as cool in a book. I suspect this "Hold the door" theme will play out differently in the book, which would imply this was just a one off by D & D (classic though it was, textbook perfect in fact!). In summary, I don't expect any more of it cos D & D aren't playing too far off from the source material - and the SOURCE of the source material (GRRM) doesn't do cliches.

Is it a closed loop tho? I mean, I understand it being predestination paradox but not a closed time loop.

Case 1)
A closed loop is when a present event causes a past event to happen which in turn causes the present to happen. Like travelling back in time and giving your younger self your wristwatch. In this case, the question "where did the watch come from?" cannot be answered. This is a closed time loop.

Case 2)
If you travel back in time and go and kill John F Kennedy, this will only be a predestination paradox but not a closed time loop.

I think Hodor is case 2.

Just my opinion tho
Mmm... perhaps I used the expression "closed loop" erroneously, cos I also think Hodor's was a case2. I figured it's "closed" now since the time flow of events (from our viewing perspective anyway) has exited the loop.
