tpia... smiley i wasn't cussing u out, i meant what i said. I am flattered. That part about what i used to dislike was just a tease. I'm sorry u misunderstood. And I was really interested in why u thought men band together more than woman; i assumed u'd read a journal or survey or something... U always used to have a link or two to back up your views.

So... Will u tell me why u think so now?

@Tg, hellooo smiley
No, i'm not bored. Just felt like posting again.
I'm more ''enlightened'' now, u say? Mmm. Mmmmmmh. Ok, i shall ponder upon it later at leisure. Mmm.

@tpia, i'm a little flattered that you find time to comment on my thread. I'm trying to remember what i used to dislike about u... smiley
''Men are generally more protective of themselves...''; really? I actually think it's women who are like that. You got any facts to back this up?

PoliticsRe: Presidency Takes On Christiane Amanpour by kay9(m): 6:43pm On Feb 24, 2013
ROSSIKE: If you had a brain as sharp as your lips, you would have researched the power situation beyond where you live, seen that the improvements are widespread, and then corrected Amanpour for her deliberate misrepresentation. You've done none of that, so you're as bad as her if not worse. You've enlightened no one with your diatribe, and you've helped obfuscate the truth.
Mmm. *smiles* Mr. Rossike, your beef is that i called Reno a presidential pharisee, abi? Well, i could tell you why i said so, i could list out his impressive resume of stupendous national blunders and ridiculous ''double-talk''. But hey, why bother? Go back and tell your boss that i have better things to do with my time than arguing with the presidential pharisee's lapdog. People like you are beyond enlightenment, so dont bother looking for it in my posts.
Shalom!

^^^If crude exports and FG executives' bumper pays are factored into the GDP, then it prolly explains the ridiculous claim that GDP is improving... Did u guys see the last budget proposal? All that orishi-rishi mega wastages, they jejely compute it into the GDP...

RomanceRe: Love Dey Shark U Abi? Read My Story. by kay9(m): 3:45pm On Feb 24, 2013
OP, u and i are agemates, so i'll be quick about this. Ignore all these comments here and look deep inside your heart: do u really love this girl? Aside from this fk up of hers, assuming u suddenly discovered she's epileptic, would u STILL love her? My man, marriage isnt for kids.

I have been a flirt in my time. I've gone through the phases of 'good boy' turnd 'bad boy' turnd 'player' and i've come right back to where i started. So trust me, i've seen it all. Be honest with me, bruv, and answer this question: Can u swear u have never cheated on this girl? The answer to this question isnt really important; what is important is the realization that NOBODY is perfect. And when u love someone, u love them IN SPITE of their imperfections. I'm not telling u to forgive and accept her back; i'm saying look inside yourself and determine if she's worth putting your heart on the line for. Thats the true test.
Some reponses here are condeming the girl; a few are defending her. Hear me, bruv: THEY ARE ALL WRONG. Only you, YOU, can decide if u still love her. Listen to your heart.

I wont go into whether tricking her was right or not; afterall its your life and you have an obligation to yourself to seek your own happiness and prevent heartbreak. But remember, she's only 23... Bros me, how wise were u when u were 23? Consider.

Lastly, i'll say this: every knowledge has its price, and for every secret discovered your heart pays a toll. This is a fact of life; think about it when u have the time.
Nairaland GeneralA Real-life Question For A Psychologist by kay9(op): 2:45pm On Feb 24, 2013
There's something bugging me, been bugging for a long time actually...
Used to be, in the past, i find that i always feel kinda offended whenever i read/hear a man/guy/male being insulted or yabbed or taunted or whatever, by a woman.I feel like i'm the one those things are being said to. Anybody else ever feel like that?

Just so u understand what i mean, this feeling of emotional hurt is totally independent of WHY the guy is getting his bacon toasted - it doesn't matter what he wrote or said AT ALL! As long as its a guy getting thrashd by a gurl, mehnn, my incredible hulk starts growling. Even if i eventually realise the guy was wrong, i still remember it and ACTIVELY look for the first opportunity to get ''revenge''. grin
I actually feel that way, but to a much lesser degree, when its a guy thrash-talking a woman. I generally stay away from woman-woman exchanges; they're just too messy. wink

So... There i said it. I'm not really that way anymore; it still hurts, but i just try and forget it. Generally i just walk away from online exchanges now - not worth the bandwidth. Other times i just throw in a sharp rejoinder and say 'Shalom' cool

Sooooo... Anyone else feel this way about things? A psychologist, maybe, can u tell me why i feel this way? Replies, replies...
FamilyRe: Pro And Cons Of Living Together With Your In-Laws. by kay9(m): 1:25pm On Feb 24, 2013
Wislet: 1. I know how to address people.
2. You should state your point more clearly next time, and not type something else when you mean another.
3. I never advised that she stay alone on her first pregnancy, I addressed only ONE THING- YOUR calling a WIFE a GUEST in her own house.
So, get it right next time.
Ok, see, i'm only ''chukin'' my mouth in this matter cos..well, i dunno, mayb i just respect your views. The topic's a lil stale sef, but watever.

Anyway, i think u were a lil offtrack this time, sugarlumps...
What i mean is, u assumed he was calling the woman a guest in her own house. But he wasn't. smiley Go on, re-read his first post. He very clearly started by saying the woman can go stay with the inlaws. Now u cant be ''co-owner'' of your MIL's house now, can u? smiley

Although i dont see the woman going to the inlaws if her own mum's still around...

@OP, in a nutshell, Google is your friend...and GoogleEarth.

U can get satellite images/maps of ANYWHERE for free from Google earth - all it'll cost is your internet bandwidth. You can digitize the map yourself (manually or with ArcGIS if you have it, or with free online softwares). If you dont know, u can google ''how to digitize a satelite image''; searcg through and follow the best advice you can find.

If you're good at google searches, u can find free Contouring softwares online; i got one once, but i cant remember where i saved. I never got around to using it. If need be, u can buy an eTrex GPS (or hire one, shouldnt cost much) and get the elevations of relevant places yourself, especially to confirm the elevation given on google earth.

U can even find good pdf manuals of how to develop a drainage system for an area online, just search hard enough. wink
PoliticsRe: Our GDP... by kay9(m): 12:34pm On Feb 24, 2013
Interesting discussion.

I already knew the GDP is the standard measurement of how ''healthy'' a nation, but i never really knew how it is computed. One thing though: i'm a little confused about the government spending and net export/import factors. Say things like crude oil exports and all those whooping millions the FG spends on its executives... Where do all that go in? Do u add it along with private sector exports and FG civil servant expenditures?
PoliticsRe: Presidency Takes On Christiane Amanpour by kay9(m): 11:21am On Feb 24, 2013
Ok...

I wasted enough time reading through all that schnitzel, so i might as well comment...

1. It's a long, long, OVERLY long write-up, with very little substance. Quoting this and that and all that unnecessary diatribe, just to tell Ms. Amanpour to mind her business... Abeg, grammar no dey full belle o.

2. Reno is a two-kobo presidential pharisee; any right-thinking Nigerian knows his views aren't worth squat. Eledumare alone knows where Reno-boy pulled out those figures he quoted from. However...however, i'd be a big liar if i say electricity hasn't improved a little bit where i live. Emphasis on WHERE I LIVE.

3. And lastly, with all due respect, Christiane Amapour is full of sh!!t. Yeah, the yellow slimy kind that goes phhrrrrttttt when it exits your you-know-what. I saw the nonsense; ''What Nigeria and the Super Bowl Have In Common'' she called it. Interesting. I'd have told her what she and Reno Omokri have in common if only she had a nairaland account.

So America has a blackout on its super bowl abi super basin, and you think dragging naija's messed up international image through the mud - no thanks to our lousy FG and my fellow suffering-and-smiling brethrens - will give you higher star ratings, eh kwa?? Anyway, thanks for reminding me that my country's electricity sucks, Christiane, but the only thing i see it has in common with your yeye Super Saucer is that they're both run by people who'd rather throw mud at others than admit that they messed up.

I no too sabi broke grammar abeg; check this out if you want. www.thisdaylive.com/articles/nigeria-in-the-eyes-of-amanpour/138752/
PoliticsRe: 20 Interesting Things About Alvan Ikoku by kay9(m): 10:19am On Feb 24, 2013
PortHarcourtBoy: His Son, Late Prof. Chi Ikoku was the best Petroleum and Gas Engineer Africa ever produced.

His books in Petroleum Engineering are still widely used in American and Canadian Universities.

For your info, he designed the NLNG Bonny Process Trains and other notable Oil and Gas processes around the globe...
If the above quote in bold is true, then our country has really REALLY sunk to abyssmal depths. I work in the oil/gas industry and ALL plants in Nigeria today are designed by foreign expatriates. When we want to build any plant/structure now - especially those financed by the big EnP's like Shell, Exxon, etc - we start hiring Americans, Russians, Chinese, and Dutch engineers to do it for us. Yet half a century ago, Nigerian-born and Nigeria-trained engineers were doing it.

Down here in the niger delta, illiterate jobless youths are stealing crude oil and REFINING it by themselves. Instead of reforming these guys and developing their already budding self-developed ingenuity, Nigeria's government prefers to arrest them and throw them in jail. Meanwhile the FG and the socalled ''cabal'' is busy selling our crude and IMPORTING fuel and gas (from the same people we sold the crude to!!). See as we smart reach.

Good work, iyaniwura.

Its a little hard to believe that Nigeria had men like this. I mean, how did we ever get to this rotten state? Trying to imagine what naija was like in the '50s and '60s is almost like imagining paradise...
