Mozehh: Guys, please can anyone give me advice on the best way to travel to new orleans from lagos. How should i book my flight to ensure i get the cheapest rates? Should i break the journey? What airline offers are available? Expected cost. Etc. That kind of stuff. Thanks in anticipation.
Air France, KLM, Continental and Lufthansa, check the prices on their official websites and then compare with prices on www.kayak.com . **avoid mixing different airlines on your itinerary**

kcluv2men: okay, thanks so much. I will try my best. Do you know of any university that exempts Nigerians from TOEFL that i can apply to
I hear a lot of people here looking for schools that waive TOEFL and other standardized tests, should this be the most important basis for your choice of a school ? No, it shouldn't. These tests are not too difficult and you don't want to handicap yourself in the future by not taking it. You never know when it will come in handy; a school may waive it for you now but @ some point it will be needed; some people have experienced denial which was traced back to the missing test, some others didn't take it and got their visas but you never know what your case will be. In my first year of grad school, we had a lot of scholarships for int'l students that requested for TOEFL and GRE scores. These opportunities don't come up all the time and you don't want to render urself ineligible when a golden one comes around.

kcluv2men: I will, I have a list already. My TOEFL will expire in August so I don't wanna risk it;That's why I am looking for such schools.Does the state you pick affect your visa because someone told me that if your school is reknown and located in a city or state with hoigh living standard, you have an advantage. If you are now able to defend your genuinty inwanting to study in the US.Gboyega, what uni are u in and where are you...Still trying to catch up with the part1 of the thread o..No vex. Thanks so much.
You have a lot of time until August, you can decide on schools you wish to apply to and send them your score now. If they get it before it expires then its not your problem anymore, its valid.

1025: @kay dee,
you sound like a DIE HARD ARSENAL FAN yet you prefer to write in blue. is it because we are the champions of europe? na waa. i advised some manure fans today to tell their club to always wear blue whenever they are playing barca and by so doing, they will play without fear as usual and barca will be under great fear thinking that they are playing chelsea. since you on your own has started writing with blue, pls take the same advice to ur club. when mourinho won barca with inter, i told them same which they tried and it worked.
club owners do sale their clubs like the former chelsea owner sold chelsea and bought leeds(info). coaches leave clubs for other clubs like every coach you can think of. if henry and fabregas could leave arsenal, if robben could play against chelsea, if ronaldo could leave man u for madrid. uncle who am i? you are in a ship that has refused to move forward or even backward and you don't want to move on with ur life.

So if i write with eleganza blue biro, then I'm a Chelshit fan. undecided undecided . I don't know what your idea of a "die hard fan" is but jumping around from club to club (like you've been doing) doesn't describe it so my initial assumption about you remains valid. The day i get tired of supporting Arsenal is the day i switch to watching horse racing.

1025: ok, i will only advise u ppl not to kill anyone in your frustrations. powers grow and powers dry. manure never believed that another team can come up in manchester to the extent they called our own manure noisy neighbours.
una case simple because na same same london. kill the pride and cross over to the pride of london/england.
bob marley said, exodus is the movement of Jah people.
i will leave the other issues you raise above for another day. pls be wise and avoid getting a heart situation while u are still young.

this explains the source of your inspiration; i'll leave you to keep wallowing in your rastafarian fantasies cheesy cheesy .

1025: @kazekage,
i must thank you for this great opportunity to define the word WE. i will save some illustrations for poets or future poets.
for the purpose of your inquiry, WE here stands for the football world.
do not be deceived because we are discussing on an arsenal thread. unfortunately, i must remind you that we are not on arsenal landrather we are on nairaland and sports forum in particular.
even the arsenal website(arsenal.com) is not restricted to arsenal fans alone but the whole football loving world.
pls do not be afraid, i am claiming ur club by using WE. i hope you will not ask me to define world in ur next post.
the joy of soccer is the competition and that is why ppl are rating epl higher than others. the league where ppl win trophies within seconds to go.
like i said, the sagnas, squirells and coquiel and frimpong are not what the WE are looking for.
thanks and God bless.

I just wasted my precious time reading this ur meaningless mini-epistle. I'm not saying you shouldn't visit the Arsenal website, comment or even crack one of ur not-so-funny jokes about Arsenal's business. grin grin . I sometimes take a peek into the Chelsea, Manure and even Manshitty websites and threads and say what I want but I have never referred to their business as 'ours' or 'we'. Now i suspect u are an "anywhere belle face" fan, you choose which club to support on the basis of who's doing well, I know your type, you'll be a shitty fan next season.

Just wondering. . . . . What was the main problem with this team last season? I mean in what areas were we lacking. Definitely not in attack, we had no problem scoring goals. I think it was mostly in midfield (creatively) and i hope AW has plans to address that area too.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by KayDee4:
1025: @kazekage1,
if na u, u go come back to the same club that nearly put ur carrier to a stake? he looked sharper when una first buy am before him come look blunt run go back now u think he looks sharp, u want him back so that una go blunt am.
abeg, check the list of players una buy last season and compare them to what u are buying now, no difference. wenger is an old man and does not know what quality player means at the moment.
we want a wenger that can go out there and bid for higuin, villa, Liorente, ibra, Thiago silva, hulk, falcao. these are players that can change results and stand the pressures of big teams and big games.
in the current football time and age, 10 and 13 million are figures related to the wolves, blacburns, wesbroms etc not the arsenal we used to know. one more thing, no matter how you look at it, teams are built around captains and captains whose hearts are large enough to contain other members of the team not those whose minds are outside or divided.
you know captain raul, casilas, puyol, garry nevile, captain G for Gerald and the captain of the european champions Field Marshal JT. i am only showing u men that have passion for the team. ppl whose second names are their various clubs. if u are old in arsenal, u know the mighty man Viera and captain Adams.
it is a wrong thing to use captaincy to tie players down to a club.

CareerRe: Tribalism In Nigerian Banks' Employment by KayDee4:
Adido: He is not saying that Zenith bank favors only Agbor guys, he is saying that Agbor guys are the majority in the bank's branches. This I know to be true as I worked with Zenith bank. This does not mean that Zenith bank does not employ anyone else. Please read statements carefully before you attack them.

Maybe I still don't understand him, his statement got my brain a bit confused because if Zenith favours only Agbor guys ahead of people from other parts of Delta state, then people from other parts of Delta state will come before people from other parts of Nigeria undecided undecided ; I also worked in ZB for a good number of years and I didn't notice "a majority of Agbor guys" in my office or unit.

floriana: Zenith Bank does not favour all Deltans o. It favours only Deltans from Agbor. Number one and two in the bank currently are from Agbor. Top management is also heavily populated by Agbor people. Jim Ovia is an illustrious son of Agbor town.
jp philips: it will take you decades to realize how far Nepotism has ruined this nation, who told you there are no jobs? and why are people unemployed? where does the job appear from when a chairman makes a call?
the employed will tell you how overworked they are but the "right" person has not come to fill the void yet.
who are the right people? people with contact or people that knows the job?

the word "merit" has left the Nigerian dictionary like 2 decades ago, even the writers of the Nigerian constitution were not selected on "merit" so why hope much.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen @ all, of course it does and I have witnessed it, maybe I haven't realized how 'bad' it is because there's something I'm missing out, on the other hand, it could be that people already have their minds wrongly set on the notion that there 'must' be a 'connection" or tribal influence to cross the hurdle . I just think this tribe thing is getting into people's head and some people give up without even trying. I worked in 2 of those institutions in the past and I got in with no connection or ethnic affiliations; I saw people come in the same way i did and some others just sat back without trying, asking how we did it or who we knew. Now @OP may not even bother to apply to some banks because he heard they don't favour his tribe and that will be an opportunity lost.

People in general are getting carried away by thinking there is tribal bias in everything and everywhere; I once had a guy (from my tribe) come into my office (in a bank) and the 1st question he asked me was how come most of the people in my office were from the opposite tribe and i told him i hadn't noticed that, out of curiosity, I went back to check and he was actually wrong. I wonder why people walk around with thoughts of "tribe this, tribe that" constantly on their minds, abeg free your minds of that ish and get on with ur hustle.

cap28: The US govt are gradually turning nigeria into a pariah state by using negative propaganda to scare people away from the country. This will have a very negative effect on nigeria's international standing - the intention of the US is to isolate and cripple nigeria economically in order to give them full control over our collective destinies.
Negative propaganda to scare people away ? ? I don't think so. Are you saying that Nigeria is safe ? If you were a foreigner and with the spate of bombings in the news everyday, will you have Nigeria on your list of vacation destinations or a place you want to have a business investment?
I think you're pushing your conspiracy theories too far.

PoliticsRe: FG Writes US Over Possible Drone Strikes On Nigerian Soil by KayDee4: 9:40am On Jun 23, 2012
Drone strikes? totally unnecessary if you ask me, and maybe ineffective because the death toll from collateral damage will far outweigh the success that will be achieved (if any) besides I doubt the US will want to get involved at that level as Boko hasn't been a direct threat to them.

publisher: I have been made to understand that in order to increase your chances of getting a good job in certain Nigerian banks, you must belong to the right ethnic group.

Here's what i mean:
Wema bank - favours Yoruba jobseekers
Skye bank - favours Yoruba jobseekers
Unity bank - favours Hausa/ Northern Jobseekers
Zenith - favours Deltans/Delta Igbos
GTB - favours Yorubas
Diamond bank - favours Igbos
Access bank - favours Yorubas/Edos
Fidelity bank - favours Igbos
Union bank - favours Igbos
UBA - neutral
Fcmb - favours Yorubas
First bank - neutral

So people, is this gist true?
Most likely false.

I know the oil and gas companies work with the quota system which they declare openly, but I seriously doubt it is the same for other institutions.

That you must be connected or come from a certain ethnic group to get employed in an organization is a misleading impression. It may be the case in some instances but more often than not, people walk in based on merit.

publisher: I have been made to understand that in order to increase your chances of getting a good job in certain Nigerian banks, you must belong to the right ethnic group.

I hope you don't hinder your chances yourself back because of this impression.

Asking for State of origin, LGA and religion is merely for statistical and demographic purposes.
