Even before you mentioned this we already know that terrorists are the new govt of Nigeria. They move with impunity, They literally control the entire country so I think it is safe to say they are the new govt of Nigeria. As we no wan support restructuring this cesspit, we will all enjoy the suffering together. GamalNasser: |
No need for the "suspected", just drop the pretence already and call them by their rightful name - terrorists. |
Mr Lawan just go and swipe the remaining Excess Crude Oil account of $330k. |
Just shutdown the entire f***** country. There really is no point any longer. The so-called leaders have fulfilled their ambition, they have destroyed the country beyond measure. It used to be that people simply ignored politicians because they felt corruption did not affect them personally, it was not a threat to their existence. Now, we are all seeing how corruption and ineptitude can lead to a total breakdown and destruction of a society. Our so-called traitorous scum of leaders have helped the colonial powers beyond their wildest dreams. The colonialists came with the idea that they would destroy the culture and religion of their colonies whilst forcing them to adopt their own. They also wanted free flow of natural resources from these colonies. Fast Forward 100 years post amalgation and we still have free flowing resources and wealth to foreign countries and a continual destruction of former colonies only this time, it is we who are actively involved in the destruction of our own destinies. Mark my words, we have lost atleast 2 generations of opportunity to chart our own course in life. We are derailed and these things do not fix themselves overnight, they take time. I weep for what I call home, I weep for what I call my country. |
That man looks exactly like Nigeria and Nigeria looks exactly like that man. Iykopee: |
Half of those so-called Yoruba elements you mentioned are faceless monikers created to continue causing confusion. The other half are ignorant trolls some of whom are paid. No one in their right minds would justify this, it is sad that we are fighting this on the basis of religion when we should be rejecting these bastards on the basis of them being abysmal failures. Onigawara: |
God bless you too bro. GadgetsRus: |
You have spoken well my brother. But I need you to understand something, out of the 200 million Nigerians you see, I can guarantee you that 99.4% are exactly like our leaders that we love to criticize. The leadership of a country is only a reflection of its people. We are a direct image of our leaders. These men do not thrive in isolation, they understand the psychology of the average Nigerian and they play it to their advantage. Yes the leaders shoulder 70% of the blame because as leaders they ought to know better however it is sad to note that Nigerians are the architects of their own mass misfortune. We cling to our ethnic, religious and cultural biases. We are generally unexposed. And even where you find Nigerians who do not exhibit these symptoms, a majority of us Nigerians simply do not care about Nigeria our country. We do not see it as our own. We b***h and complain about government but guess what, put an average Nigerian in there he will do the exact same if not worse. We simply want others to be the ones to come help us solve our own problems, we don't want to bear responsibility for anything. By we, I mean a majority of Nigerians. It is a mindset thing, we are a defeated people. And it is no wonder our so-called leaders ride roughshod over us. GadgetsRus: |
Why are you wasting your time with an idiot who is probably paid to defend one political candidate or the other. DrLevi: |
Despite record oil prices in the last 6 months, Nigeria cannot get it's s*** together. |
No amount of foreign whitewashing can change his image as a corporate virus. |
Whether Osinbajo or Tinubu, fact is Nigeria's problems are endemic and neither candidate was going to make a difference. smatt1711: |
You are a wise man beyond your years. Sadonyx: |
Nigerians just happen to have a short memory. Tinubu wanted to be Nice President on the same ticket as Buhari. This has been well documented. In the last 8 years, his wife out of nowhere was ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), I wonder who dey deceive who. |
Here is someone who gets it. Alot of fools on here raving like 24m will change your life permanently. I know of two acquaintances who have quit Shell and Chevron respectively for their masters in the US. And they earn in excess of 2m naira a month. Upon completion of their degree, they are bound to get jobs that will put them at par with what they were earning in Nigeria. And even if they don't, they prefer to take that paycut in a better, serene environment than to remain on a rudderless ship that is sinking fast. What some fools here do not realize is that you can never put a value on peace of mind. Living in some gated community in Ikoyi or Lekki whilst still within the proximity of people who don't have much to survive and who don't have much to live for, is not peace of mind. You can buy your jeep, the best kind, say a Porsche Panamera but you sure as s*** can't drive it all around Lagos with the bad roads and the traffic. Inflation catches up quicker with your salary than your employers can afford you an increment and your bills never stay the same whether it's rent or living costs in general. Decent healthcare? Don't even get me started on that. And ontop of it all we now have had insecurity in the last 8 years. People who already understand Nigeria and the randomness that comes with it would prefer to start all over again. People who don't understand Nigeria and perhaps have never come in contact with the randomness that comes with living in this hellhole would wonder why someone leaves a 24m naira salary. Money can't buy you peace of mind. If you have stepped outside Nigeria to even neighbouring countries in West Africa, you will despise the zoo we call a country and call for change with sincerity. GreatAxeMan: |
I hope Nigerians will treat this man with the contempt that he deserves and vote for anyone else but him. This is the last person we want becoming President. Lagos State which is run like a Mafia organisation is the perfect example of how Tinubu intends to run Nigeria. If he becomes President, mark my words, He is going to sell-out the first 4 years to the North in a bid retain his seat and his next 4 years will be to loot the entire coffers empty. He is much smarter than Buhari when it comes to corruption and he want to be President, not because he wants to use the powers for the benefit of his people the Yoruba, but because he sees it as the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition. He is a very dangerous man and cannot be underestimated. There is no length Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot go for Power. Nigerians must defeat him resoundingly at the ballot, do not leave it close for the courts to wade in and settle. Word to the wise. |
Everyone and their mother knows that a lot of these so-called "rich men" were just pushing snow in the 70s and 80s. Some even date back to the 60s. They used the proceeds from these illicit trade to finance and prop up their businesses. The only people that come here to defend them are hustler who are being paid to do so or ignorant, stupid people who don't know their left from right. Kingcalls: |
That might not be enough. It seems people like you just don't understand how desperate and cunning Tinubu is. He most likely has already factored that Buhari will not help him use Federal might to All he has to do is ensure that the votes are close enough and I will not be shocked if it is settled in court. Do not underestimate Bola Ahmed Tinubu or his desperation to become President. I hope Nigerians vote Atiku into power so that this so-called country may be hastily dissolved. Nobody is coming to save you Nigerians. This country has gone to the dogs and no one can reverse the current trajectory. All of the candidates know this. Sunday2021: |
Mr Shittu, don't worry you have nothing to be afraid for. We will find out indeed come election time if SW is 65% Muslim as you say. My only prayer is Buhari stays neutral in this election and your candidate is not afforded the opportunity to rig. We will know if SW Christians are 35% or 20% or 5%> |
I do not know why Pastor Adeboye granted him audience. I will never understand this. He is using this visit to improve the optics for his political run. The man of God could have insisted on a phone call stressing his need to stay neutral. This man called Tinubu knew well in advance that he would select a Northern Muslim as his vice presidential candidate. I can assure he knew of this in the last 8 years which in turn just so happens to overlap with the period his wife was announced as a Pastor or Deaconess in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He knew this moment would come and he intended using his wife and her so-called status as a pastor in the largest Christian church in Nigeria as a foil. I am surprised that Pastor Adeboye and those around him do not see this desperate attempt by the name they call Tinubu. In fairness, Tinubu himself based on his precedence does not appear to be an islamic fundamentalists, however we cannot say the same thing about his vice president. And only God knows tomorrow not we humans, if Tinubu were to exit whilst in charge he will have carefully handed over to the same people that are in charge of the country today. His supporters call him a political maradona, hopefully without the federal might to rig elections, we will find out soon enough. lagosrd: |
If this is true then this means Yorubas are no more than drug addict, drug peddling, money laundering, corrupt, tout supporting useless people. You should speak for yourself and your family. Very soon we will know if Tinubu does indeed reflect the Yorubas. Soon enough, we will see at the polling booth if what you say is true. Just save your strength for election time cos you will need it backtovillage: |
No surprises from this report. In Nigeria in the 70s and 80s, the fact is alot of so-called rich men who have difficulty filling in the gap as to the actual source of their wealth made their money from one or more of the following - drugs, oil bunkering, stolen money from politics, money laundering. They then invest the profit from these ventures into other legal businesses. The actual report upon which this story is based has been in circulation for quite some time now but politicians know they can always count on the stupidity and forgetfulness of Nigerians. It is actually why they run policies to keep you hungry, wretched and frustrated afterall such a man would only comply and not ask pertinent questions. A plea bargain does mean an admission of guilt. It does not mean he cannot travel to the USA. Also, it is easy to see why he got a slap on the wrist, the man is an obvious plant of the American government, a mole, and historically speaking we know how that tends to work out for African countries. He is not the only one by the way, alot of our so-called leaders with dual citizenship are foreign moles. It's not so hard to see why they will never get persecuted for the numerous properties and stolen wealth they stash abroad despite these countries having hard laws against such. Judging by the mood of this thread, I am not surprised one bit. I have said here on more than one occasion, we often blame the leaders for the mess that we are in but Nigerians are also the architects of their own misfortune. The poor in Nigeria don't know any better, every election cycle is an opportunity for them to get free gifts. The middle class in Nigeria are just a bunch of opportunistic hustlers aiming at all cost to hit it overnight and become like the rich. We are never going to get ourselves out of this mess. Our society has failed. Our morals and values, if we had any at all, has failed us. We no longer have any sense of wrong and right. Nigeria is a f***ing jungle where anyone can get away with anything. And I am afraid to say but it is what it is. We all collectively made this bed and we will lie in it for sure. Whenever we decide we want to be truly free, is the time we are free indeed. By we, I mean a sizeable number of people and by free I mean when we actually start giving a f*** instead of coming on nairaland to bleat and b****ing. No one is coming to save us and things are not going to improve for the majority of Nigerians. The issues we have are deeper than meets the eye and if you are in government or know people who are, you will understand fully why I am so pessimistic about the future of this country. $10,000/barrel oil price cannot save our economy with the number of leeches we have in government. We, as a people, have never had a true say in how we want to be governed or how we should coexist if at all we intend to. Tinubu's candidacy is just one of the many symptoms that has plagued us but how we got here was through years upon years of ignorance, stupidity and sheer wickedness. Be honest, the average Nigerian is no different from the average Nigerian leader and it is not a surprise that we find ourselves in the mess that is Nigeria. |
I just love my Moslem brothers. It is okay when a Moslem/Moslem ticket is presented to the people but it is not okay when a Christian/Christian ticket is presented. The hypocrisy is sky-high really. The effrontery. The guts. Anyway, over to you Nigerians. |
I am not fan of Odumeje but to be honest government is doing right thing in the wrong manner. How can you give just two months notice to church that has established for years without making temporary arrangement choices for them first or pay them compensation first to show that government is responsible? This is not the job of government. The property in question was ILLEGAL hence zero compensation is required. It would have been a different matter if the property was legally acquired but government felt the need to build on such. See you cannot have it both ways. Odumeje was wrong to build on a designated waterway. Actions have consequences and no one is above the law of the land. I know Nigeria is f***** up but every once in a while when government tries to do right I believe we should applaud not try to muddy up the waters. sreamsense: |
You don't even get it do you. Buhari's administration early on already reversed erstwhile decision of citizens to own permits for personal fire arms. People who owned permits had them retrieved by the Nigerian Police Force. This was early on in 2015/2016 and alot of people pointed to this as having underlying sinister motives but I guess everyone was still basking in the euphoria of this government. The day Fulani herdsmen (or so-called Bandits whichever you chose) invade a particular community and get slaughtered, you will see how quick government will come after citizens tagging their self-defense weapons as illegal. Nigeria is just a f**** up place. You have stupid leaders like the Ondo and Zamfara state governor saying people should defend themselves, have they done anything within their own states to make this possible. I mean anything within their own powers as enshrined in the constitution. It is very easy to offer empty palliatives in order to make headlines and have people think you are empathetic towards their situation but until these useless leaders start to experience what the average Nigerian deals with on a daily, nothing will change. festacman: |
ISWAP did not mastermind those attacks. Anytime you see the Nigerian government rush to point fingers, they are clearly covering up. Killer herdsmen or so-called Bandits (one in the same if you ask me) certainly did. We love to tell ourselves lies so unfortunate as this may sound, alot of innocents will continue to die. Until we awake, it will be same of same. |
Ron Paul Liberty Report I hope you are aware that Senator Ron Paul has had his campaign, past and present, financed by the Russians. The same Ron Paul who voted against sending a military aid package to Ukraine. I do hope you did the tiniest bit of research before coming to post this. Anyway, most nairalanders are gullible, they'll just lap up whatever you throw at them, no questions asked. Look at how much Russia is struggling in Ukraine and someone comes to say they will win a war against NATO and you believe. Damn, people are gullible. WriterNig: |

And Buhari is healthier than Tinubu. Let that sink in. But ofcourse Nigerians do not care about all of this. No worries, soon you will all start to care. |

I thought I was the only person who read that. If you sign a document, then it means it is legally binding on you and you have read that document and agree with it's content. Very soon, we will hear it was not his signature, someone forged his signature. It just stinks of coverup left right and center. Paperwhite: |
