GDP don't mean sheet when it cannot translate to tangibles in the lives of a majority of the everyday people. remember this people. |
always remember folks, the easiest thing for lawyers to do is talk, they know how to talk and they always talk a big game, infact it is what they are trained and paid to do. Nigeria has never been short of talkers, Nigeria has always been short of talkers who walk the talk when convenient and when not. |
yet they succeed, why? because all we do is come to nairaland and shout lagbara olohun but we fail to organize ourselves and repel them. until we unite and come together, they will succeed. and by we, i do not mean christians. by we i mean secularists. because those who seek to spread islam are conservative islamist jihadist and not every single muslim is like them. if we must fight these bloodthirsty demons, i assure you it would take more than just a coalition of believers. what these jihadists fear the most is secularism and the freedoms that come with it. kollinzgee: |
now i understand why hope was willing to be hopeless. follow the money my people, follow the money. |
Rest well sir. Your killers will know no peace. |
19 Northern Governors? I don't think Ortom was a part of that meeting. |
FG stands nothing to lose man because without revenue sharing through resources derived we will have little to no use for the Federal Government. The Federal Government of Nigeria, foisted upon us first by the unitary government declared by General Ironsi and subsequently thereafter by the hurriedly put together 1999 constitution, has just been an instrument of oppression and an avenue of waton inefficiency. The Federal Government is just an added layer of bureaucracy to what we already have. The Federal Government is and has always been a front for the the Hausa-Fulani, plus any useful idiots that they can find down south, to hide behind and redistribute resources to vast, unoccupied lands mostly located in the North not fit to be called states of their own. If this bill helps us all do away with the Federal Government and its various failed agencies and ministries, i am all for it, a great step in the right direction. Let states that share common beliefs and visions form regions and govern themselves accordingly. If the various regions so wish, let them agree to have an army that safeguards the territorial integrity of the collective. However let each region maintain their own form of security apparatus. Not saying this will solve all our problems, but it will surely force us all to sit up and think with our God given brains. Otherwise we perish. But to advocate that we continue in this madness all because we must try to guard some albatross of a Federal Government, it beats my imagination over and over. Aufbauh: |
i agree it is not the solution but it is a start. these so-called proponents of a one-Nigeria will tell give you a thousand and one reasons why we should all stay in Nigeria, but they won't lift a finger to ensure the country itself does not fold. |
then Alhaji Masari the North should have nothing to fear from the recent directive of the courts. i really believe in the potential of the North, so much so that i believe they should be fighting for their own autonomy to ensure they control their own resources and can actualise their own dreams, whatever that is. |
please tell me how abokifx as a platform is speculating on naira by reporting the happenings on the streets of Nigeria. we are so inept and devoid of gumption that the only thing we are good at is to turn everything to rofo rofo fight when we lack proper talking points. everybody and their grandma has known that this government's monetary policies have been stupid and utterly counterproductive. But now that the chickens have come home to roost, it is CEO of Abokifx that is at fault so hey let us shutdown his business for telling us what we already know to be true. DubaiLandLord1: |
chants from the trumpists who never voted for Biden and are thoroughly happy with any thing they can hurl at the man. biden even took responsibility for all that happened, something we never saw for once in the last 5 years. nevermind the fact that trump and his lackey pompeo started the afghan withdrawal process and they came to an accord with the taliban (all of which is verifiable). biden did the right thing unfortunately lives were lost in the process. but guess what, lives have been lost since the start of the war and you don't see these same people jeering George W Bush. the fact is that war had cost the US more than it had gained them. that money could have been put to better use to help the US economy in other ways. if biden did not do it, trump was going to do it anyways. you can criticise biden on anything but surely not this. |
Extinction of who? Perhaps corrupt politicians that feed fat off revenues from crude oil. |
If Southern Nigeria had gone its way in 1960 at Independence, we will be light years ahead of you lot in the North, even Chad and Niger Republic will be better off than you jokers in the North, cos you people are lazy, dont want to go to school, contribute little to zero to the common wealth collective of Nigeria and at the same time you greedy clowns expect to benefit the most. Southern Nigeria is still light years ahead of the North. The idiot started by listing out their politicians (corruptible ethnic and religious bigots who are nothing without oil wealth) their population (largely uneducated) and their land mass (mostly uninhabited and barren with all manner of crime infestation). Please do not mind that fool. Nigeria is going to split soon enough thanks to the Fulani cabal and their high handedness. Mavor: |
all the money in the world can never buy anyone good health and peace of mind. you would think our so-called his should be a cautionary tale but his will only be a footnote in the book of useless leaders that the African continent continues to produce. |
i beg to differ. Nigeria cannot be salvaged, the weaknesses that we suffer as a country are fundamental to the very inception of this nation. We were never a nation to start with, we never had a good, honest discussion about what who we wanted to be and if at all we wanted it. LibertyRep: |
Chief Falae, in a telephone conversation, told Sunday Tribune there was virtually nothing worth talking about on the meeting. “Yes, they came. But there was no substantive discussion. They came to alert about the crisis in the country. We told them we knew before they came. That’s all,” he said. this was definitely not what was discussed at the meeting. |
as you can see the federal government is interested in nothing but extorting these companies and having some oversight into their affairs in order to play politics and stage hostile takeover of these companies. excessive and reckless regulation stifles growth and innovation, this has always been the norm the world over. there is a reason why the USA, not the EU, is home to some of the world's greatest startups and innovations. this is hausa-fulani muscle flexing at its highest. no brain, no input, no positive addition, just brawn. |
Nigerians and hypocrisy are like 5 and 6. So what has this dynasty produced for you and your family? Oh i remember now, you are paid to come spew rubbish on here. naija4life247: |
military strategists say the US cannot commit their entire resources to Afghanistan or any one country alone. if they do, they run the risk of other nations running wild. so you see, even if iraq was not invaded, i do not think the taliban could have been vanquished entirely. a majority of the people there are deeply conservative. the US installed government was corrupt and inept, the people in government were the direct antithesis of the average afghani. so unless the US dropped an atomic bomb on the entire Afghan people and started all over (which is near impossible) then the outcome was always going to be the same. just like vietnam, it was a lost cause from the beginning simply because the US felt as they always do that the people of Afghanistan would support them in liberating themselves from the Taliban. there are countries out there that need true liberation, Nigeria for example, but you won't see the US come to our aid. Rather they would go to places such as Iraq and Afghanistan where not only are they deeply unpopular but they tend to overestimate their reputation. lexy2014: |
you are quoting conservative news outlets castigating Biden. same conservatives that screamed blue murder and dragged the US into the war in the first place. same conservatives that justified the expanding the war on terror by invading Iraq for little to no reason. The US keeps repeating the same mistakes and expects a different result. Afghanistan was always going to be Vietnam all over again. The minute they rid the country of Al-Qaeda, they should have left. Staying longer only cost them more, added more to the deficit and made the military industrial complex extremely richer. They are the ones using these media outlets to bleat because the chopping is over and they now have to figure out another country to invade. Biden did what other Presidents before him should have done. Trying to prop up a clearly corrupt government was never going to work in a very islamic conservative country. The same Afghan soldiers trained by the US willingly laid down their arms and embraced their Taliban brothers. That should tell you all you need to know about everything that happened. And this is why i laugh at some fools here who really think the US can invade and conquer Iran. To invade is one thing but to effectively eliminate the leadership structure and replace it, thereby permanently occupying that country is another extremely difficult thing to do. Not every country wants western ideals and democracy. Afghanistan is fondly called the graveyard of empires, there is a reason for that name. The US think tanks need to learn from these mistakes otherwise it will repeat itself again. |
mischief maker, you clearly did not read the interview. Juliusmalema: |
somewhere right now, BH, Fulani Herdsmen and their enablers/sponsors are watching these events unfold and they are rubbing their hands with glee whilst daydreaming at what could be in a place such as Nigeria. before you dismiss the statement above, think it through. |
i hope the actual people affected, and not the inept and corrupt community leaders, get the money. and in addition, i hope the people who get the money use it judiciously to change the fortunes of their immediate family and that of the ogoni people at large. |
you are absolutely spot on! socialmediaman: |
you can doubt it all you want, your doubts won't change the facts on ground. Penguin2: |
this NIRSAL AGSMIES loan scheme is probably one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated by all involved. after telling participants that regardless of years of operation of their business, they would get some kind of capital, it then became clear that everyone participating needed to pay 10,000 naira training fee and an additional fee for business proposal. the ratio of people who did the training compared to those who got the loan was like 1 : 100,000 and the people who cashed out were the so-called training centres. this is why the ordinary man will never trust government in this country. |
spot on bro, very true. we can and must do better for ourselves. Dubaiguy: |
2014 Armed Robbery if the robbers were caught and prosecuted and it is common knowledge that Nigerians in general did not encourage this heinous act, i see no reason why Nigerians in general should suffer for the acts of a foolish few Prostitution in my view this is a non-issue, i observed first hand myself whilst visiting the red light district in dubai that there are prostitutes of other nationalities in dubai, even in higher numbers. i do not encourage prostitution but if their law says it is legal then i do not think that is something that should affect us all as Nigerians Bad work ethics this is probably the only point you raised that i agree with, a large percentage of Nigerians both home and abroad have a very piss poor work ethic. if we are targetted on the basis of this, then i have nothing to add. Hushpuppi to the best of my knowledge, dubai is a place where a lot of stolen money goes to disappear, both stolen money from the coffers of politicians and otherwise. According to reports, Mr Hushpuppi enjoyed the protection of the local police force in dubai until it no longer was pragmatic for them to do so. and he has since been apprehended by the relevant authorities. this is a non issue and should not affect us Nigerians in general. in summary, this is just a case of stigmatizing and stereotyping and for me it just brings home why we must develop our own country and continent and be proud of our own selves. i do not condone acts that put us as Nigerians in bad light, however if these same acts were perpetrated by other nationalities of certain prosperous countries, the reaction would never be the same. double standards at best. |
i agree however northerners should also be ready to accept the outcome should things not go their way. |
