HOME GROWN RULE

To qualify as home grown, a player will have had to be registered for at least three seasons at an English or Welsh club between the ages of 16 and 21.

Of course he wouldn't get a loan in England but that still doesn't change the fact he 's our player contractually as he's already signed for us.It's the reason Vela is considered a home grown talent. It is not about where you are loaned,it's about where your contract is penned. It's one of the laughable loophole in the whole homegrown schitzo.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by kaypumpin2(m): 11:55pm On Dec 10, 2010
I think the rules state a player has to have played 75% of the last games for their country,so how could Neves have come here without been a "special talent"?

Anyway the advantage in the loan route is the fact he now qualifies as a "home grown talent".All these talent schemes sef.

Dayo,
If you have to dig that far into the archives to get a game in which Arsenal were negative, doesn't that count for something?

Apart from the Villareal game, the last FA CUP final we played last was also a terrible advert for football. But then,we were "defensively disciplined" and that is OK for me.I do not care how it is done, especially against the so called big teams in which we normally choke and show defensive naivety,i wouldn't mind a bit of negativity as you people call it.

Why don't we save the "battle" as per the second round UCL match till the draw is made.

In other news,so we can conjure work permit for Denilson  grin as an "exceptional talent" but can't for a precocious talent as Wellington  undecided God dey  tongue

Hehehehehehehehe. . . . . El me i dey gbadun you jare.Even though you need to beat the best to reach the UCL final,i do not wish for any of Barca and Real right now.Real has one of the best attack in Europe and a defence of Carvalho,Pepe and Ramos is as strong as it gets. You have to be a Barca to beat Real like that, and don't lets deceive ourselves,we are nothing close to the Catalans.Either of Schalke and Bayern will be OK,with my personal preference being the former.

That said, can we "spoil" United's unbeaten like they did ours?It depends on which Arsenal turns up.Suffice to state we must outscore thm to realise this as our D is a major worry.

Unfortunately, the camera didn't show Cesc and Senderos(who were both seated in the stand side by side) when all the goals were scored on Saturday.I would have loved to see Senderos reactions when either of the side scored.

A few comments

On the Song issue, apparently, AW has asked him to push forward and he knows it leaves us exposed, but is prepared to live with the threat. I think that is a bit OTT and he needs to get Song to do the basics again, such as actually making good passes.

Yes we want to keep the opponents in their half, but we must do it intelligently, not removing all protection from our CBs.
Everything is wrong with Song staying farther the field. . . .

Firstly,he doesn't have the pace for recovery and is marking style of coming through an opponent doesn't work.

Secondly,Song just about matured into the holding role last season so why fix what is not broken. Now the poor dude has to adjust to this "new role".

Thirdly, this leave a gaping hole in the middle especially when a slow coach like Denilson is playing. And what does Song add to our attack that Wilshere and Denilson can not add?I mean why Song for that "pressing" role?

I am still trying to see a positive side to this new development.

Ten-hut

Sometimes I wonder how delicate and "plastic" these players are.Kos out for 3 weeks with concussion.Wtf!

I once got hit by a bar supporting 60kg of weight at the gym right on my fore-head and was working out again in the next 72 hours. No be humn head hit this one.Nonsense.He better be fit enough for the bench by the time we get to OT as Djorou inspite of his good form is still suspect in the area of being fit for a long stretch.

Good to see RVP gradually hitting form and i still prefer we keep "managing" him the way we have been doing so far.The groans and fear by gooners anytime that dude hits the turf and takes time in standing up is always "funny",especially at the Emirate.

Also my apologies to Song for castigating his consistent forays this season. It so happens it's all the handiwork of Monsier Wenger in a tactical faux pas i am yet to come to terms with.

"Song is high up the pitch because we want him there. I am comfortable with that, even though it sometimes leaves us open in the middle of the park. If we lose the ball in the build-up, we are in trouble. But we want to play in the other half of the pitch and, therefore, we have to push our opponents back. My philosophy is not to be in trouble, but to fool the opponent into trouble."

Ten-hut!

May bawo's soul rest in peace
His time has come and gone. Hope he achieved his destiny

We need a win tomorrow to prepare us in stead of the Old Trashford game
We need at least a win; any news on Cesc?
Does anyone think we need to buy or loan a new central defender
Last we heard is he MAY be fit for the trip to OT.Personal i will say we should let him get totally fit and not rush him back.If we can finish off Partizan early tommorow,we can rest the key players and have enough players rested for the trip.Plus the match is on Monday so time dey very well.

Definately not the best of time for OBJ,seems everything Tom,Cruise and Emeka can trade punches with him figuratively and literarily nowadays. embarassed

BTW,Rosicky should be subbed so Nasri can influence the game from the middle instead of been pegged to that WF role.Persie or Walcott can be introduced to give more bite to the attack as it is in a deep slumber right now.And no please, don't wait till the 75mins Arsene.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Vs Fulham (2 - 1) On Saturday 4th Dec 2010 by kaypumpin2(m): 4:53pm On Dec 04, 2010
Only this team can do the things they do. .  .be in TOTAL control at one point of a game and COMPLETELY switch off as the game progresses and gift their opponent the game.

This Fulham team was theirs for the taking and have been allowed back into the game seamlessly.

And Song,he had one great season as a DM and suddenly feels he can now become a MARADONA this season.Dude is having a stinker, his marking style of coming through his opponents sucks and he needs to stay back to help the CBs.

I just hope Fulham wouldn't cop another goal with the way we keep keeping the high line.
