Barca are going to regret selling Eto'o. Everything in Barca's final third revolves around movement, speed and work rate. Zlatan is severely lacking in all departments. Never seen such a static striker((almost similar to Persie in Arsenal's system but selfish, individualistic and over-skilled) since Ade in the semis against UTD & Chelski.

Plus Pedro Rodriguez is quality. cool

biina:
UEFA have not said they are reversing the referees decision on the penalty, changing the score line or requesting a replay.
Eduardo is accused of diving, and will be punished (and rightfully so) if found guilty.
If decisions are to be made retrospectively, why can't UEFA just go the whole hog? What if Eduardo's dive and resultant penalty had been the match winner or decider, you feel or think a 2 match ban would have ameliorate the pain of Celtic's ouster?

biina:
Have other players not been carded if they are found guilty of diving by the ref?.
And yellow card and a 2-match ban are same?

biina:
If you can prove his innocence, then go ahead, though I doubt it, as the video evidence was clear that there was no contact.
You only have grounds to complain if UEFA doesn't take similar action against future offenders.
And past offenders, even the blinding case of Gerrard? What makes Eduardo case different from his?

And i ask again, how does UEFA decipher when a player intend to con the referee? How do you know when he tripped or fell when avoiding an on rushing player?
The match in question isn't going to move Arsenal's position to 2nd or 1st.
Would Arshavin had done the same thing in a Champions League semi-final poised at 1-1 in the 89th minute?
Those are the telling factors. The game against Pompey was dead rubber. . . . .Win, Lose or Draw. . . .
Arsenal had already muscled Villa out of the 4th place position.
That there is one question that vitiates what this discussion stands for.FFS,how is the FA/UEFA or anyone to know what would have een?
And you talk about match changing moment as if Celtic was in the driving seat,we were leading by 2 freaking goals.Celtic was never in the game just like Pompey's match was nothing.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only. Yes We Can! by kaypumpin2(m): 6:58pm On Aug 28, 2009
Whilst i would want to bite on the conspiracy theory hook, line and sinker,i can't but feel this will only open the door for complications in the beautiful game.

. . . charged for deceiving the referee?what about those players that raise their hands for offside when an opposing player is on side?does it mean now that referee decisions can be upturned willy nilly? The more i think of the whole scenario, the more i see a pandora's box being flipped open.

UEFA are quick to discard the use of video technology during games but are pondering employing more assistant referees, and i ask isn't it video that they looked at to nail Eduardo?
Arshavin was unlucky the incident happened in a rubbish game with POMPEY.
The match had no significance whatsoever. . . . . .Would Arshavin have refused a penalty kick in a bigger game like the UCL or a title decider match?
UEFA/FIFA are not stupid.
You keep twisting the issue at your whim. What and who determines what is a  crucial match?Isn't it same 3 points to be earned or is there something i am missing?
Now you are even clairvoyant to know when and if Arshavin will refuse to take a penalty? undecided
What wouldnt one read on NL.

An ordinary 2 match ban in matches against Liege and Olympiakos or whoever is no biggy jare.Abegi make we move on. . .

UEFA can go chop shit for all i care.Anytime the English press make their xenophobic statement against Eduardo,i can'tb ut ask if they don't feel shameful bearing in mind Gerrard's case against Athletico is still fresh in mind. . .  undecided

No Fab tommorow. . . . erm. . . i feel it's due more to Wenger wanting to make him unavailable for the Int'l break.Just my thought.
His place can still be taken by Diaby though who i feel should do a decent job.
The match ain't MAKE or MAR so i am ok with a draw, but i will gladly take all 3 points.

@ Kay

I'm good bro, just been away taking care of important matters.  cool

I see you guys are holding down the fort properly. . . though the scumtwats and other rabble keep poking their nose in here. wink

I'm personally looking forward to Tuesday Sept 1st more than this weekend - our squad situation as of that date will have a greater impact on where we end up come May than the over hyped game coming up on Saturday.
Men will be men and scummies will be scummies  grin

It's not Eureka yet but with lads like Nasri,Rosicky,Walcott,Djorou still out,i still INSIST i see light at the end of the tunnel. In the match yesterday, the team didn't hit full throttle but the potentional was there for all to see.Denilson,Ramsey and wait for it. . . . . . Eoueeeeeeee  grin. The team has been heavily rotated in the last 4 matches and it's barely noticeale.Better days are ahead indeed BUT i agree there has to be CAUTION.

I hope Wenger can make one or two additions especially in CB and CF.Funny enough,i feel with the 3-man midfield being deployed in this new formation,we do not need to make any addition in the midfield area till January. . .

Hope you get things sorted early though,so we can see more of ya. . . .

Whether Arsenal make it count in the end is another issue open to debate.
Of course if you go by the backdrop of how we were expected to be the victim of Citeh's profligacy and spree, how we didn't make any MAJOR purchase and only have kids, how Fab's mind is no longer at Arsenal and other negative vibes, you can't but praise the team's resolve. No team has ever been this castigated and written off pre-season like Arsenal. . . .

There's no debate. . . .Arsenal pack more quality than Celtic which was why Eduardo shouldn't have dived to score at that crucial time.
If he had dived after Arsenal had score 2 goals. . . .no one would be kicking dust but to do it at that point was nothing but disgraceful.

I hope Platini's men slam his ass with a 2-match ban. cheesy
Don't tell me you are part of the media frenzy. . . . .
What was crucial about the time we had the penalty,Celtic wouldn't have scored even if we decided to field no goalkeeper.
As far as i am concerned if Platini lived upto his word and review Eduardo's case, then i will know it is another law for Wenger's boys.
If Eduardo is banned for 2 matches,Gerrard shoulda been banned for 22 games.

He fell, yeah.Did he ask for the penalty?NO tongue grin
I have seen more dubious penalty given to various players in my years as i a footall fan.Gerrard's case against Athletico readily comes to mind.
Eduardo should be banned, but i didn't read the journos literarily sending Taylor to Golgotha for that tackle on him that almost render the dude useless.
Not making a case for diving, but in the grand scheme of yesternite's event,Eddy copping a penalty is nearly inconsequential.2 shots at goal throughout the 180 mins by Celtic shocked.Even Mowbray knows to raise his hands up in submission.
