Young men from my village defended Afikpo against the 1st Division. One of them died crossing Afikpo river. My own father joined the Biafra Army around August 1968. After completing basic training at Agauata, he and his colleagues were moved to Okigwe to wedge the approaching 1st Division of the Nigeria Army that had overrun Afikpo and was headed to Umuahia. My father fought the 1st Division all the way down to Umuahia. He was wounded on a number of ocassions.

Today, Abakeleke boys are the ones to save Anambra State. What an insult?

How does the redemption work?

Years ago, I heard a follower of Judaism remark that people say that Jesus Christ saved man, yet people still get sick and people still die, as always. So, where is the salvation or redemption? There is need to understand how the redemption of Jesus Christ works.

Mt. 13:31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Mt. 13:32 Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”

Jn. 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

Mt. 3:10 The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Adam was like a mustard seed, which God planted on earth. His bloodline has grown to billions of branches. Unfortunately, evil spirits (birds of the air) lodge in those branches. Similarly, Jesus Christ is like a vine tree, which God has raised up on earth. The vine tree does not produce branches of his own; instead, branches of the old Adam are grafted into him. The old Adam tree is already slated to be cut down and thrown into the fire. It is up to the branches of the old Adam tree to choose whether to be detached from the old tree and be grafted into the new tree.

Ro. 6:3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into his death?

Ro. 7:1 Do you not know, brothers — for I am speaking to men who know the law — that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives?
Ro. 7:2 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage.
Ro. 7:3 So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross atoned for the sins of man and also created the mechanism for a human being to disconnect from the old Adam’s bloodline. Baptism into Jesus Christ is actually baptism into his death. The person baptized becomes crucified with Jesus and so has died with Jesus Christ (Ga. 2:20). Through joining Jesus Christ in his death, the person is freed from Adam’s bloodline and becomes a branch of Jesus’ bloodline. Once a person is grafted into Jesus Christ through baptism, the person could receive the Holy Spirit and could begin to grow in divinity by continually eating the fruit of the tree of life.

Jn. 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

If a person is baptized into Jesus Christ, but does not grow in divinity, God could cut the person off the Jesus’ tree.

Redemption of man

The first move that God made towards the redemption of man was to send His word into the world. God gave His word to Israel. Along with His word, God established His presence in Israel through the tabernacle and then the temple. This should be a lesson that the presence of God goes together with doing His word.

Even though both the word and presence of God were in the nation of Israel, which made the nation of Israel son of God, the presence of God was not in any individual Israelite, not even the High Priest. This means that no individual Israelite was a son of God.

Ro. 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Sin reigns in Adam and his bloodline. The presence or Spirit of God cannot be in Adam’s bloodline due to sin.

Lk. 5:37 And no-one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.
Lk. 5:38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.
Lk. 5:39 And no-one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, `The old is better.’“

Members of Adam’s bloodline are old wineskins that are used to old wine (sinful living). God cannot establish His presence in a sinful human being, otherwise His presence will bring deathly judgment to the human being. No human being who enjoys sinful living wants the presence of God, anyway.

He. 10:5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me”.

When it was time for the presence or Spirit of God to come into man again, God formed a new man or Adam for that purpose. The new man was Jesus Christ. He came into the world as the seed of the woman (Ge. 3:15), being that he had no biological father. During his baptism by John the Baptist, God breathed into him His Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:16), the same way He breathed into Adam (Ge. 2:7). And just as God moved Adam into the Garden of Eden where he was tempted by the devil, in the same way, God moved Jesus into the desert where he was tempted by the devil. Whereas Adam followed the word of Satan, Jesus Christ warded off words of Satan by words of God. Jesus Christ totally rejected Satan’s words and upheld God’s words.

Mt. 4:11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Lk. 4:14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.

Because Jesus Christ rejected words of Satan and held on to God’s words, God increased the level of divinity in him. Then, he started his earthly ministry. The earthly ministry ended with Jesus Christ offering himself as a sacrifice of atonement for the redemption of man.

The Fall of man

Mt. 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’“ [Deut. 8:3]

God is the tree of life; every word that comes out of His mouth is the fruit of the tree of life. Satan is the tree of knowledge of good and evil; every word that comes out of his mouth is the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Ge. 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
Ge. 3:2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,
Ge. 3:3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
Ge. 3:4 “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman.
Ge. 3:5 “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Here we see the tree of the knowledge of good and evil present his fruit to man, after the tree of life had presented His fruit to man. Which of the two fruits would man choose? We all know what happened. Man chose the wrong fruit and sin entered into him. Sin alienated man from God (Col. 1:21, Ge. 3:22-24). Man could no longer eat the fruit of the tree of life. Divinity in man began to decrease. After the fall of man, people had a lifespan of close to 1,000 years. As divinity in man continued to decrease, lifespan decreased. When divinity in man reached the bottom, lifespan of any man could hardly reach 120 years.

Jn. 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Satan murdered man through a lie.

Ge. 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

“In our image, in our likeness” shows that in the beginning, God created some divinity into man. There is often some confusion about the plurality in God’s statement, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness”. Who were/was the other people/person with God at the point when He created man? Christians go off all sorts of tangent in answering this question. The reality though is that angels were with God during the creation of man. God is permanently stationed in heaven and reaches the whole universe through His Spirit. If He is ever to do anything, He does it through His angels. In all His supposed appearances on earth, God was actually represented by an archangel. The earth cannot contain the fullness of God’s presence.

Ge. 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.

Here we see how God put divinity in man. God breathed His Holy Spirit into man and transformed man into a living soul. A living soul, though a spiritual entity, possesses some properties of a living thing, especially the ability to grow or decrease through nutrition or lack of nutrition. The angels didn’t find this arrangement funny though. Even though man was created at a divinity level a little lower than that of angels (Ps. 8:5), the implication of being a living soul is that man could grow in divinity and rise above the divinity level of angels. One third of God’s angels rebelled against God because of this.

Ge. 2:8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
Ge. 2:9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground — trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Ge. 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Ge. 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
Ge. 2:17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

In the Garden of God, which God made for man, there were all sorts of trees that produced fruits that serve as food to the body of man. Only two trees produced fruits that could serve as food for the soul. Since the soul is spiritual, the trees and their fruits are also spiritual. God commanded man to never eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Queen Elizabeth II has been infected with the coronavirus, Buckingham Palace said on Sunday, becoming one of the world’s most prominent figures to battle the virus and deeply rattling the country she has led for seven decades. The palace issued few details about the condition of the queen, who turns 96 in April.

“Buckingham Palace confirm that the queen has today tested positive for Covid,” the palace said in a statement. “Her Majesty is experiencing mild coldlike symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week. She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”

She met this month with her eldest son and heir, Prince Charles, who was reinfected with the coronavirus and went into isolation. He last contracted a mild case of the virus in March 2020, as the pandemic was first engulfing Britain.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson suffered a severe bout of Covid around the same time and ended up in an intensive care unit. But even that alarming episode paled next to the news that the queen, who has reigned for longer than most Britons have been alive, has contracted a potentially deadly disease.

Buckingham Palace has labored to protect the queen from exposure to the virus. She retreated to Windsor Castle in early 2020 with her husband, Prince Philip, and lived in virtual quarantine for more than a year.

Those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever

These are the highest humans in the kingdom of God in eternity. They are depicted in Revelation 12 as the woman with a crown of 12 stars. They are the 144,000 Israelites. However, even if you are not an Israelite, you can still earn great eternal reward by turning many to righteousness.

Turning people to righteousness is not just about preaching to people to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Obviously, baptism into Jesus Christ in water and in the Spirit is the gate or beginning of seeking the kingdom and righteousness of God, but it is not the end. It is getting people to reach the end that earns the reward.

Brightness of the heavens

"Brightness of the heavens seems to have something to do with the rapture. Only Souls that are full of divine life will transform from mortal to immortality and be snatched up to heaven in the rapture. I talked about it in this post:

"Brightness of the heavens" could also be a reference to the sons of God, whose souls are full of divine life, becoming exact images of God.

Oil in jar along with the lamp

Re. 1:10-13 10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man,[d] dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.

Re. 2:1,5 “To the angel[a] of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

A church is a lampstand. Individual Christians are lamps. A human being becomes a lamp when s/he becomes baptized into Jesus Christ in water and in the Spirit. The soul of that person has been born again (Jn. 3:5); the person is now a living soul (Ge. 2:7). Note in Re. 2:5 that Jesus Christ removes lampastand from where people wallow in sin. This means that Jesus Christ makes a soul to stop being a lamp (born again) if sin predominates.

In the Parable of the Ten Virgins, all the virgins have a lamp, which is what qualifies them to be virgins in the first place. They are all born again. Yet only those that have oil in their jar are the wise ones. Only the wise ones will shine like the brightness of the heavens.

The oil in the jar is divinity or divine life. It is the divinity or divine life in the soul that makes a Christian to do the works that Jesus Christ did during his earthly ministry (Jn. 14:12).

Putting oil in the jar can only be done in trickles. It is a lifelong exercise that could lead to the jar being full of oil eventually.

Da.2:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Who are the wise ones in Da. 12:3?

Daniel 12 describes the height of end times. Jesus Christ also talked about wise and foolish people during the end times.

Mt. 25:1-4 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.

Comparison of Da. 12:3 and Mt. 25:1-4 leads to the conclusion that the wise ones of Da. 12:3 are the wise virgins of Mt. 25:1-4. Whereas Da. 12:3 doesn't say why they are wise, Mt. 25:4 says why they are wise; they took oil in jars along with their lamps.

Is it the harsh economy that is bringing the worst out of people? Unfortunately, money rituals cannot save people out of harsh economy. It is just dangerous superstitious belief.

Performing the role of a King

2Co. 10:3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.
2Co. 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

In ancient times, the strongest man in town became the king; it was all about the brawn. So it is in the spirit realm. The human soul (or the inner man) operates in the spirit realm. The strength of the inner man determines whether a person can reign spiritually. Can a person influence the strength of his soul? The answer is yes! Just as a person could influence his physical strength through the food s/he eats, in the same way a person could influence the strength of her/his soul by feeding the soul.

Ge. 2:9b In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Mt. 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’“

The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil produce food that the human soul can feed on. As we can see from Mt. 4:4, both the fruit of the tree of life and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are spiritual words. The fruit of the tree of life is every word that comes out of the mouth of God, whereas the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is every word that comes out of the mouth of Satan (esoteric knowledge).

Some food that we feed the human body are purely medicinal, while some are for energy and building up the body. In the same way some words of God (the commandments) are medicine to the soul, while some are for spiritual power and building up the soul.

Jn. 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

Jn. 6:43 “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered.

Jn. 6:48 I am the bread of life.
Jn. 6:49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.
Jn. 6:50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.
Jn. 6:51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Jn. 6:53 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is the fruit of the tree of life. He is the bread of life. How does one feed her/his soul with the bread of life? Just speak the words as Jesus spoke them. Following is how I feed my soul with the bread of life.

As I eat the flesh of Jesus Christ and drink his blood through word of faith, I use imagination to visualize the flesh and blood flowing into my soul. This is because faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (He. 11:1). As a person continually eats the flesh of Jesus Christ and drinks his blood, the soul grows in stature and in power. Before long, the person begins to do miracles. When the person does spiritual warfare against agents and forces of evil, it is more effective than ever.

Jn. 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
Jn. 11:26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

As people of God, who are baptized into Jesus Christ in water and in the Spirit, endlessly eat the flesh of Jesus Christ and drink his blood through word of faith, divine life (or divinity) in them grows. It will get to a point where it becomes impossible for them to die or become sick. The progression will get to the point where they are transformed from mortal to immortality, followed by the rapture.

1Co. 15:53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
1Co. 15:54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” [Isaiah 25:8]

Performing the role of a Priest

2Co. 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The job of a priest is to make the temple fit to host the presence of God. The temple must be kept holy in order for it to host the presence of God. In the New Testament, the body of the Christian is the temple and the duty of the Priest is to keep the body holy.

Jo. 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Ep. 5:26 To make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.

In Jo. 1:8, God revealed to Joshua the secret of holiness. The Ten Commandments given by God to Israel wasn’t just an unbearable burden, as most people think that it is. Rather, the Ten Commandments actually constitute a spiritual holiness device or tool. A human being can use the holiness tool to make herself/himself holy. In the New Testament, Ep. 5:26 also describes the holiness device.

The only way for a priest to make her/his body fit for the habitation of God is to keep the body holy by means of the holiness tool. This requires that the priest understands the principles of operation of the holiness device.

Is. 55:10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
Is. 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Jn. 3:34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

A key principle upon which the holiness device is based can be seen in Is. 55:11. If anyone returns God’s word to God, the purpose for which God sent the word into the world will be accomplished in that person. In Jn. 3:34, Jesus Christ says that God gives His Spirit to a person who speaks His words, without limit. God created the human soul with a capacity to contain infinite quantity of the Holy Spirit. God Himself possesses infinite measure of the Holy Spirit and then created the human soul with a capacity to become like Him. This was what provoked one third of God’s angels, led by Lucifer, to rebel against God.

Any person who continually returns God’s commandments to Him (Jo. 1:, in agreement, continues to receive the spirit of holiness from God. As the measure of the Holy Spirit in that person grows, her/his holiness also grows.

Ph. 2:13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Here is an example of returning God’s commandments to Him, in agreement:

If you are baptized into Jesus Christ in water and in the Spirit, which is what qualifies you to be a priest of God, try and operate the holiness device as in the example and see that it works.

The Kingdom and Righteousness of God

Re. 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Re. 5:10 and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The kingdom of heaven involves the kingdom and righteousness of God. The kingdom of God means to be a king on earth, in service of God. It is just like what obtained during the ancient Roman Empire, whereby Caesar appointed his chosen people kings of nations that made up of the Roman Empire. These kings were servants of Caesar. There was king Herod of Judea.

The righteousness of God means to be a priest in service of God. In the ancient temple of Jerusalem, the function of the priest of God was basically to keep the temple and the people of Israel holy enough for God to dwell among them. In the New Testament, the temple is the body of a Christian. Hence, the righteousness of God is all about a Christian keeping himself/herself holy enough for God to dwell in him/her. The Christian should also help others to become holy.

Mt. 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Mt. 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

According to Jesus Christ, what people are focusing on in this world can be classified into only two categories: cares of this world and the kingdom of heaven. Cares of this world deal only with the physical or earthly man, whereas the kingdom of heaven deals with the inner man or soul. Since the earthly man exists for a limited time, everything about it is temporary. On the other hand, the kingdom of heaven is eternal.

2Co. 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
2Co. 4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
2Co. 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Fulanis have changed from herdsmen to bandits. They have now established a number of kidnapping areas in Anamabra State. A number of people have been kidnapped in the Agu-Awka-Amansee axis. People have also been kidnapped in Ukwulu. All the people kidnapped said that the kidnappers were Fulanis and they collected ransom before releasing them. I don't know why Fulanis are intent on pushing this country overboard. I don't believe that there will be 2023 elections. Activities of Fulanis show that they have a grand sinister plan.
