Yoribas don't need to fight any physical war. They have some of the greatest men of God that this country can boast of. The great men of God among the Yorubas should begin spiritual warfare immediately. They should not wait until the current situation in the country degenerates to physical warfare. See my thread on the kind of spiritual warfare that the people of God should begin immediately: https://www.nairaland.com/5326112/all-things-more-than-conquerors |
The Wall of Jericho must fall Jo. 6:1 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No-one went out and no-one came in. Jo. 6:2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. Jo. 6:3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Jo. 6:4 Make seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. Jo. 6:5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, make all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in.” As the Israelites marched around Jericho, it must have appeared as if they were doing useless ritual. But as they continued to march around Jericho, they were raising up the divine power against those walls. By the seventh day, the extent of the accumulated divine power became enough to bring down the walls. In the same way, you need to continue speaking to the rock until the opposition gives way. |
How do we wage this war? As an Igbo, I used to be seriously worried that if Jihadists suddenly begin to attack in Igboland, Igbos have next to zero weapons to fight back with. But now I realize that spiritual weapons are superior to weapons of this world. What is this spiritual weapon? It is the Spirit of God (Christ) in you. Mt. 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Even if you have the smallest measure of the Holy Spirit in you, you can conquer any opposition. The difference between warfare by a person with small measure of the Spirit and that by a person with great measure of the Spirit is that the person with small measure of the Spirit will continue to war against the opposition for a longer time, before it gives way. Nu. 20:2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. Nu. 20:3 They quarrelled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the LORD! Nu. 20:4 Why did you bring the LORD’s community into this desert, that we and our livestock should die here? Nu. 20:5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!” Nu. 20:6 Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and fell face down, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them. Nu. 20:7 The LORD said to Moses, Nu. 20:8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so that they and their livestock can drink.” Moses and Aaron faced a life or death situation. They led thousands of people of all ages into a very hard desert and there was no water to drink. That meant certain death to all those thousands of God’s people. But God taught them how to salvage such a terrible situation: “Speak to the rock with you.” The rock is the Holy Spirit of God. Nothing is impossible for the Holy Spirit. If you have the Holy Spirit of God in you, begin now to speak to the Spirit concerning the situation in this country. “All the people that are trying to use political or military power to threaten the life or freedom of the people of God in this country, be dethroned by the Holy Spirit of God, in the name of Jesus Christ.” |
Ro. 8:31b If God is for us, who can be against us? Ro. 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. This is end time. We are in perilous times. There are so many news and happenings that dampen the spirit of the people of God. There are all sorts of wickedness going on in the society. Right now, people of God are worried about fulanisation and islamisation. There is fear of sudden wanton killings aimed at forcefully colonizing and converting Christians to another religion. Ro. 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Are all the wickedness going on in the society working together for the good of God’s people? Is the current invasion of Christian communities by Fulanis from Mali, coupled with the RUGA programme of the Federal Government, working together for the good of the people of God? I used to be worried by what I can see that is surely befalling the people of God in this country. I was very afraid of possible sudden culture inversion, anarchy and long period of war. But now, as I look at Ro. 8:28, I begin to see a different picture. We have come to the time of the manifestation of the sons of God. For centuries, there have been arguments about which religion is the right way to the God who created and owns everything in the universe. Practitioners of every religion claim that their religion is the best way to God. In this end time, the truth about God is going to be made so clear that nobody will have any excuse. Those who still reject the truth will face fiery judgment from God. The way the truth of God is going to be made very clear is not by much preaching or talking. Talk is cheap. 1Co. 2:4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 1Co. 2:5 so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. 1Co. 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. It is time for all who have the Holy Spirit of God in them to begin to demonstrate the power of God. That is what the manifestation of the sons of God is all about. It is time to confront everything in the society that threatens our lives or freedom by the power of God. Instead of being afraid of the wickedness in the society, or of RUGA, confront everything you don’t like by the power of God. The Christian Bible says that we are more than conquerors. If God is for us, nothing can prevail against us. 2Co. 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. |

obembet:It is not Africa culture. This is ancient Jewish culture brought to Africa. Ge. 38:6 Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. 97 Ge. 38:7 But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so the LORD put him to death. Ge. 38:8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Lie with your brother’s wife and fulfil your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother.” Ge. 38:9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. Ge. 38:10 What he did was wicked in the LORD’s sight; so he put him to death also. Ge. 38:11 Judah then said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow in your father’s house until my son Shelah grows up.” For he thought, “He may die too, just like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s house. |
Most posters on this thread don't seem to understand that Soyinka is annoyed with the claim that he mentioned "Buhari's achievements", which is another way of saying that, in his opinion, Buhari should not be associated with the word "achievements". It is gratuitous to associate Buhari with achievements. |

Awol1:This kind of chest-beating is not good for Igbos at all. You kids that post this kind of bragging should be careful. It is this kind of chest-beating that made the British to turn against Igbos. Fulani herdsmen are currently occupying land masses in Igboland. The forest between Milken Hill and Ugwu Onyeama near Enugu has been occupied by herdsmen for decades. Land near MOPOL base in Awka is currently occupied by herdsmen. At a time I heard that they occupied some area in Awkuzu, Anambra State, and even raped and killed a woman who went to farm there. Fulani herdsmen are currently occupying many portions of land in Anambra State. Fulanis from other countries are about to take over kek-na-pep transport in Awka. |
Resurrection of Israel Ez.37:1-10 1 The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me to and fro among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ I said, ‘Sovereign Lord, you alone know.’ 4 Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”’ 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.”’ 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet – a vast army. The vision in Ezekiel 37 began with a valley filled with dry bones. The prophet was led to preach God's word to the bones (Mk. 16:15-16). This apparently led to the bones receiving the early rain of the Holy Spirit, which transformed them from dry bones to bones covered with tendons, flesh and skin. But they still could not manifest as sons of God. They could not overcome all of the devil's schemes (Ep. 6:11). Finally, the prophet was led to speak to the breath (the rock of Exodus 17 and Numbers 20). The prophet spoke to the rock to breathe into the people of God. Breath entered the people of God and they arose and could overcome all of the devil's schemes—a mighty army. In the final part of the fulfillment of the vision of Ezekiel 37, there will be no prophet to prophesy to the breath. The people of God themselves will come to the realization that it is their right to drink water from the rock and so will ask the rock to give them water to drink. |
The Paradigm Shift Lk. 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!’ Ac. 1:4-5 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: ‘Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit.’ The way of receiving the early rain of the Holy Spirit is by praying for it, in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is like the staff of Moses in Exodus 17 and Numbers 20. In the early rain, the recipients are servants of God. In the latter rain, the recipients are sons of God. There is a difference between praying to be included in God's household and receiving what is rightly yours as a son of God. Hence, in the drinking of water from the rock by the Israelites in Exodus 17, Moses and the Israelites were not yet full members of God's household and the use of the staff that Moses used in Egypt was necessary. In the latter drinking of water from the rock in Numbers 10, Moses and the Israelites were already sons of God. Moses should just speak to the rock to release water for them to drink and become more like God, which was their right as sons of God. Unfortunately, Moses did not understand that their status changed after the earlier drinking of water from the rock. The status change warrants a paradigm shift. In the past few days, I began to declare as follows: In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Let the latter rain of the Holy Spirit fall upon me and every member of my family and fill us up with living water to overflowing, so that out of our hearts shall flow streams (or rivers) of living water—Jn. 7:38 Jn. 7:37-39 37 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. The festival of Jn. 7:37 is representative of the Church age. During the closing days of the Church age, rivers of living water will be flowing out of the believers in Jesus Christ. By this time, the believers will come to full realization of their rights as sons of God. |
Going by what the prophets have been saying about the year 2019, I came to the conclusion that this is the year the latter rain of the Holy Spirit comes down. I expected the latter rain to come down during the Feast of Shavuot this year, but then the feast came and went and there was no latter rain. Even then, the prophets are still saying that the great move of God will take place in this latter half of this year. My native village operates some kind of Hebrew calendar. The first month of my village's Hebrew calendar this year began by May's new moon. Going by my village's Hebrew calendar, the Feast of Shavuot should begin by sundown today and the latter rain could come down by tomorrow. The original people of my village are descendants of Judeans who fled to Egypt after Nebuchadnezzar conquered Judea (Jeremiah 43). Expect Great Signs and Wonders in the Next Six Months Ben Lim, Los Angeles, CA Jun 27, 2019 The next six months of 2019 will be marked with the supernatural. Ex. 17:5-6 5 The Lord answered Moses, ‘Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.’ So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. Num. 20:7-8 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 ‘Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so that they and their livestock can drink.’ Drinking of water from the rock by the Israelites, in Exodus 17, was a type of the early rain of the Holy Spirit. It took place on the first Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). After wandering in the desert for thirty-nine years, the Israelites drank water from the rock once again; a type of the latter rain of the Holy Spirit. The latter drinking of water from the rock happened not long after the first month of the ancient Hebrew calendar and it must have been during a Feast of Shavuot. In comparing the two episodes of Israelites drinking water from the rock, we can see that God commanded a paradigm shift in the second episode. In the first episode, Moses was instructed to strike the rock with his staff; whereas in the second episode, Moses was instructed to speak to the rock. Moses failure to implement the paradigm shift disqualified him and Aron from leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. How do we interpret this paradigm shift in the New Testament? |
Suspended until after the rapture. We are less than one year to the rapture. 2Thes. 2:6-8 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendour of his coming. |

Living as a member of Jesus’ Bloodline 2Co. 5:16 So from now on we regard no-one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 2Co. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Having been baptized into Jesus Christ, in water and in the Spirit, you have been born again. You died to your membership of the first Adam’s bloodline through water baptism (Ro. 6:4) and you became born again into Jesus’ bloodline through Holy Spirit baptism. Though you are still in the world, actually, you are not of this world. Your life goals should no longer be like that of people of this world (Ro. 12:2). Lk. 18:18 A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Lk. 18:20 You know the commandments: `Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honour your father and mother.’” Lk. 18:21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said. Lk. 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” The rich young ruler was like a good born again Christian of today. He knows the word of God and he does well in aligning his life with the word of God. But that is not enough for one to transform towards resurrection. One must deemphasize earthly wealth in order to acquire heavenly wealth. Lk. 12:29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. Lk. 12:30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. Lk. 12:31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. A member of Christ’s bloodline should only be concerned with making sure that God is always with her/him. If God is with her/him, no problem can overcome her/him. In order to for God to always be with a person the person must always do what pleases God. God’s great heart desire is to rescue as many members of the first Adam’s bloodline as possible and transfer them into the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Any member of Christ’s bloodline whose main focus is to win souls for the kingdom of Jesus Christ will always have God with her/him. 2Co. 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2Co. 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. If God is always with you through the Holy Spirit, you will continually be transformed until one day you attain the resurrection. |
Establishment of the Kingdom of God After Jesus had been clothed with divine power, he occupied himself only with establishing the kingdom and righteousness of God on earth. This has always been God’s heart desire and because he occupied himself with satisfying God’s heart desire, God was always pleased with him and so was always with him. Jn. 8:29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” What transforms a person towards resurrection is continually being in the presence of God. In order for a person to continually be in the presence of God, s/he must always do what pleases God. One thing that gladdens God’s heart and therefore attracts His continual presence is devoting oneself to expanding the kingdom and righteousness of God on the earth. Mt. 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Mt. 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” In the great commission, Jesus commands his followers to bring people from all nations into the kingdom of God. Jesus has promised his continual presence with any person who is committed to bringing people into his kingdom. Joining people to the kingdom of God involves three baptisms. Baptism in the name of the Father is done by preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God to people. In the beginning, God created man as an intelligent earthly being. Then, God made man His son by breathing into man His Holy Spirit (Ge. 2:7). Lucifer and one third of God’s angels did not like God’s elevation of man, especially because God gave man the potential to grow in divinity and approach the level of God. This means that man could rise above angels in divinity. Lucifer and one third of God’s angels began to harbor dissent in their hearts. They then set out to prevent man from growing in divinity. They caused the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Col. 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behaviour. Col. 1:22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Satan introduced sin in man, which alienated man from God. The only way to grow in divinity is by continually being in the presence of God. When sin alienated man from God, man began to suffer spiritual decay. Ro. 5:18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. Ro. 5:19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Sin and alienation from God came into mankind through Adam. Removal of sin and reconciliation with God must also come to mankind through an Adam (a new man). At God’s own time, He sent a new Adam into the world through the womb of a virgin called Mary. The Spirit of God was on this new man, but not in him, until he was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. It was at this point that God filled the new man, Jesus Christ, with His Holy Spirit. In the case of the first Adam, as soon as God filled him with the Holy Spirit (Ge. 2:7), God moved him into the Garden of Eden. It was there that Satan came against Adam through his female arm and succeeded in alienating the whole human race from God. In the case of Jesus Christ, after God filled him with the Holy Spirit, God moved him to the desert, where Satan also came against him and attempted to alienate him from God. It is possible that the place in the desert where God moved Jesus Christ to was the location of the defunct Garden of Eden. Satan could not succeed in alienating Jesus from God. Ph. 2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Ph. 2:6 Who, being in very nature [Or in the form of] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, Ph. 2:7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Ph. 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross! Ph. 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, Ph. 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Ph. 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Just because God transformed Adam into His image, by breathing the Holy Spirit into Adam, Adam and his wife quickly believed Satan’s lie that they could grasp equality with God by joining Satan to rebel against God. Unfortunately, the rebellion landed all mankind in deep shit. Jesus Christ, the new Adam, refused to swallow such bait from Satan. He rather chose to live as a humble servant of God. He obeyed God even to the extent of laying down his life for the redemption of mankind. As a result, God exalted Jesus and made Jesus to be exactly like Himself—God over all mankind (Ro. 9:5). 1Co. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. All who belong to the bloodline of the first Adam are alienated from God and because of that they die. All who are of the bloodline of Jesus Christ, the new Adam, are one with God and so will be made alive. Is. 53:8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. Is. 53:10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. Is. 53:8, talking about the new Adam, says that the new Adam would not have offspring before his death. But Is. 53:10 says that the same new Adam would see his offspring. How? That is where baptism into the Lord Jesus Christ comes in. Any person who believes the gospel of Jesus Christ should be initiated into the bloodline of Jesus Christ by baptism in water. The baptism is into the Lord Jesus Christ. Initiation into Jesus Christ through ceremonial washing (baptism) should immediately be followed by baptism into the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the blood of the glorified Jesus. A person who receives the Holy Spirit has properly been translated from the first Adam’s bloodline to the new Adam’s bloodline. Jn. 6:53 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. |
Beginning of Jesus’ Earthly Ministry The story of Jesus’ earthly ministry begins with his baptism in the River Jordan, which was immediately followed by his baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:16). Lk. 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, Lk. 4:2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. Jesus’ baptism in the Holy Spirit was followed by desert life. Desert is synonymous with lack of things that make the flesh to live comfortably. Jesus stayed for forty days without any food. Mt. 4:11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. Lk. 4:14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. During desert living of a son of God (any person who has received the Holy Spirit of God—Ro. 8:14), God allows the devil and his demons to harass the son of God with different manners of attack. If the son of God maintains faith in God for long enough time, God sends His angels to dislodge the devil and clothe the son of God with divine power. |
1Pe. 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. Jesus Christ is our example. Jesus’ earthly ministry shows us the process a person must follow in order to transform from mortal to immortality. Jesus shed his blood for us, so that we can draw near to God by His blood. When we draw near to God by the blood of Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit of God and then walk with God the way Jesus did. Jesus will not walk with God for us. |

You will know that you belong to Me and that I take care of My own, says the Lord. http://www.ft111.com/ https://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message4034603/pg1#73661575 |
Living by the Spirit Daily Lk. 9:23 Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. If you want to enter the kingdom of God, you must follow the pattern of life that Jesus lived, daily. In Mk. 9:23, Jesus calls this pattern of life self-denial and carrying the cross. Why? Ro. 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. We are already accustomed to living according to the value system of this world, and it is quite pleasing to the flesh. Following Jesus’ pattern of living will put you in opposition to the value system of this world, and that amounts to crucifying the flesh. You become useless to world in some respects and become useful to God. God becomes interested in you. Mk. 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit for every aspect of his life on earth. He started each day by praying to God, for direction and empowerment for the day ahead. He always prayed to determine what God would have him do and he always restricted himself to doing only what God says do. Jn. 8:29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” 1Jn. 3:21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 1Jn. 3:22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. If you want God to be with you as He was with Jesus, make sure that you have the Holy Spirit in you and that you never do anything without praying for God to lead you by the Holy Spirit. Always pray for the Holy Spirit to enable you to do only what pleases God. Then, God will always be with you and will give you anything you ask. Being that the Holy Spirit will make you to know what you really need to ask for, you won’t be asking for what is not God’s will for you. |
Beginning a Holy-Spirit-focused life 1Pe. 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. Jesus Christ left an example for us to follow in his steps. Mt. 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptised, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. Mt. 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. Jesus submitted himself to a man of God for baptism in water. Shortly after his water baptism, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit. From then onwards, Jesus submitted himself wholly to the Holy Spirit. This was the basis of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Christianity is supposed to be a life of following the example given to us by Jesus Christ. The early Church, led by the apostles of Jesus Christ laid the foundation of what it means to follow the example given to us by Jesus Christ. Following the example given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ is called “the Way” in the book of Acts (Ac. 9:2, Ac. 19:9, Ac. 19:23, Ac. 24:14, Ac. 24:22). What is “the Way”? Ac. 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. You begin to follow the Way when you make up your mind (repentance) that you want to follow the pattern of life that Jesus Christ lived. Jesus’ pattern of life is the way of God. Like Jesus did, you begin the way of God by submitting yourself to a man of God, who himself is filled with the Holy Spirit, for baptism in water. As soon as this minister of the gospel baptizes you in water, he should pray over you to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Even though nobody prayed over Jesus before he received the Holy Spirit, the pattern he established through the apostles is that prayer for receiving the Holy Spirit should be said immediately after baptism (Ac. 19:5-6). Lk. 11:13 guarantees that once prayer for the Holy Spirit is said by a spirit-filled man of God, God gives the Holy Spirit. What about people who were baptized in churches that do not strictly follow the pattern of water baptism followed by prayer for the Holy Spirit, as laid down by the apostles? For example, some churches baptize babies and little children. When these people that were baptized as babies reach age of accountability, the churches conduct ordinance of Confirmation, thereby confirming the person’s membership of the church. During the confirmation ceremony, a bishop of the church lays hand on the person being confirmed, apparently mimicking Ac. 19:6. What I don’t know is if the bishop actually prays for these people to receive the Holy Spirit. Today’s evangelicals may be quick to condemn the practices of the long-standing churches, but we must consider that some of the practices of these long-standing churches may have their root in the early Church. For example, in the book of Acts, there are instances where whole families were baptized by the apostles. There are no indications that only members of those families that have reached age of accountability were baptized. Little children and even babies may well have been baptized. It is possible that when people that were baptized as babies reach age of accountability, the early Church leaders prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, as the Church went through the centuries and spiritual knowledge decreased, the practice of praying for people who have reached age of accountability to receive the Holy Spirit may well have devolved into ceremony of confirmation of church membership. It is then left to people who were baptized when they were babies either to do proper baptism followed by prayer for receiving the Holy Spirit, as in Ac. 19:1-7, or to just pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The actual spiritual journey to God begins after a person has received the Holy Spirit. Jesus began his own journey by being led by the Spirit into the desert. Desert is a place of hardship. As soon as you decide to follow the Way, you have turned away from the pattern of life designed by Satan for this world. You therefore become an enemy of the spirits that rule over this world. They are bound to create a lot of obstacles for you. As you begin to encounter difficulties in your life, do not be discouraged; rather get closer and closer to God through Bible study and prayer. You have become a soldier of Jesus Christ. The difficulties you face are just trainings to turn you into a very effective spiritual warrior. 1Jn. 5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. Ac. 14:22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 2Ti. 2:3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Ro. 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. |
As a young university student, I lived my life and tried to prepare for the future. I had come to know that this world is quite a tough place. I therefore decided to prepare myself to be able to survive in the world. I learned martial arts for self-defense. I enrolled with the Rosicrucian AMORC as a way of preparing myself spiritually. Then, somebody informed a friend that I made during secondary school days about my involvement with the Rosicrucians. My friend invited me to his hometown during Christmas season and I went to be with him. My friend warned me about the dangers of dabbling into mysticism and advised me to visit the Christian Union fellowship on campus. When I got back to campus in the following January, I thought of going to CU fellowship, as advised by my friend. “Born again” wasn’t a popular thing in those days. Being a born again had some stigma attached to it in those days. Was I going to join myself to those people hated by many? That was a tough question, but due to the love that I had for my friend, I decided to just visit the CU fellowship one Sunday. I walked into the fellowship venue and sat down. Some teaching was going on. I didn’t quite get what the teaching was all about; I was rather having some experience of the presence of God. The Spirit of God embraced me and I was saying in my mind: “So, God is real like this. Yet, outside there we all thought that these born-again people are low life people.” Ja. 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. A lot of people wonder if God is real. Are all these things that people say about God really true? Well, as long as you keep away from God, He will remain unreal to you. But if you seek to get near to God, God will come near to you by His Spirit and you will experience Him. Jn. 5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, Jn. 5:40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life. There is one complaint that is rampant in the society today. There is so much church activity and prayer going on in the society, yet ungodliness is growing rapidly. How could so many people seemingly be going near to God in church worships and prayers, yet God is not seen in the lives of many people? The answer is that church activities and prayers are not synonymous with drawing near to God. A person draws near to God only if the person is able to interact with the Spirit of God. In Jn. 5:39-40, we see Jesus telling the people that they diligently study the Scriptures because they think that studying the Scriptures is the same thing as interacting with God, yet the same people refuse to go to interact with the Spirit of God through Jesus. Does this mean that studying the Bible and praying are not necessary? Well, studying the Bible is necessary because it helps one to gain knowledge about God’s dealings with man. Similarly, prayer is necessary because it is through prayer that we interact with the Spirit of God. However, studying the Bible and prayer should not be seen as ends in themselves, but means to reach the end, which is the Spirit of God. If Christians focus all their minds on interacting with the Spirit of God, there will be mighty spiritual progress. How can you interact with the Spirit of God while you are living ungodly life? Ro. 8:5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. |

Male masturbation jokes always get laughs in buddy movies and comedy routines. But a new study actually has something serious to say about the typical dude's favorite shower activity: Masturbating frequently could significantly reduce a man's risk of prostate cancer. What qualifies as frequently? According to recent research from Harvard University, men who have 21 or more orgasms per month could cut their odds by 33%. To reach these findings, researchers surveyed 31,925 men, sending them questionnaires about how often they engaged in self-love. The study team then tracked the participants for 18 years, recording which men developed prostate cancer in that time period. The men were assessed at three different points: the year before the questionnaire was distributed, in their 20s, and again in their 40s. The study conclusion? More frequent rates of masturbation were associated with lower rates of prostate cancer. https://www.health.com/prostate-cancer/male-masturbation-benefits |
Ex. 16:1 The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. Today is the fifteenth day of the second month of the Hebrew calendar in 2019. The movement of God's people to the Promised Land (heaven, via the rapture) commenced by Passover 2019. Ex. 16:11-12 11The Lord said to Moses, 12 “I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’” At twilight today (Israel's time?) is time to eat spiritual meat. Tomorrow morning will be time for the living manna, spiritual food. Jn. 6: 32-33 32, 53-58 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” |

As the Duchess of Sussex was enjoying the heady days of new motherhood with Prince Harry by her side, on the other side of the world Trevor Engelson was also beginning a new chapter. The Hollywood producer and director, 42, who married Ms Markle in 2011 before they divorced two years later, wed Tracey Kurland, a 31-year-old nutritionist and heiress to a multi million dollar fortune. The couple chose the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort in the star-studded haven of Montecito, a few miles south of Santa Barbara, for their big day. They have been dating since 2017 and got engaged last June on a trip to the wine region of Napa Valley. According to guests who circulated photos on social media, they said their vows outdoors under a canopy of white roses and fairy lights on Saturday evening. The bride chose a traditional, lace off-the-shoulder gown and the bridegroom wore a tuxedo. The bridesmaids wore gold dresses and wore crowns of baby’s breath flowers on their head, while Mr Engleson wore a dinner jacket and had baby’s breath as a boutonnière. Guests were served oysters, caesar salad and burgers, including the vegan Impossible Burger. An unnamed source told the US TV show Entertainment Tonight: "It couldn’t have been more different than the royal wedding," the source says. "This was not stuffy! It was fun and casual and absolutely beautiful. Everyone was having the best time, especially Trevor and Tracey." Mr Engleson and Ms Markle married at a beach resort in Jamaica. But two years later they divorced citing irreconcilable differences. According to excerpts from Andrew Morton's book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, the marriage ended suddenly in August 2013. "A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post. Another source confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by her and that it had come 'totally out of the blue'." It was later reported that their relationship faltered when the actress relocated to Canada for the filming of Suits. https://news.yahoo.com/meghan-markles-ex-husband-marries-171125060.html |
My money is on the June 2019 solsticeExodus 17:1-8 1 The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?” 3 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” 4 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” 5 The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?” 8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” The release of manna by the full moon of the second month was followed by the release of water from the rock before the next full moon. This year's Pentecost will be very interesting. The latter rain rain of the Holy Spirit will be released during this year's Pentecost. This will be followed by wars in the world. Pentecost takes place by June 9-11. |
Based on my two previous threads, https://www.nairaland.com/4962857/could-rapture-take-place-2019 https://www.nairaland.com/5082569/movement-promised-land-2019 I expected exciting times to have commenced by new moon of April. Instead, my life went into disarray. Salary could not be paid in the place where I work due to lack of money. Needs piled up all around me and I could not do anything about the situation. I have been sort of dazed. Last afternoon, I decided to look into the book of Exodus to see when God began to bring some excitement to the ancient Israelites after they made the exodus from Egypt. I came to this passage: Exodus 16:1- (NIV) 1 The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. 2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.” 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. " I discovered that the Israelites were going through rough time, just like what I am going through now. By full moon of the second month of the Hebrew calendar, God intervened and brought some succor. I thought to myself that full moon of the second month of the Hebrew calendar this year is the full moon of May, next two weekends. Manna in the present dispensation is spiritual food (1Cor. 10:3) and not money, any way. But when one feeds of spiritual food, he gets divine power that can supply all his needs (2Pe. 1:3). I could not be excited about all these because I am really passing through hard time and there is no guarantee that any change could happen by next full moon. By the time I finished looking into the Bible and the meditation that followed, I connected to the Internet. I looked into my email and saw a message from Master Prophet Bernard Jordan. The message contained the following: I heard the Holy Spirit say… "Tell my sons and daughters that the visitation of My MIRACLE MANNA is set! What looks like darkness is SUDDENLY about to appear as a wondrous light because the BLESSING is on its way starting now. It is designed to give them MORE LIFE! My BLESSING maketh rich and addeth no sorrow!" Oh, glory, hallelujah! I was really wowed. This is a confirmation of what I got while meditating on what I had read in Exodus 16. I now believe that great excitement is just ahead. |
Prince William & Kate Middleton Are ‘Concerned’ for Rose Hanbury After Cheating Rumors Ever since news broke of the Duke of Cambridge’s (alleged) royal affair, fans have wondered what Prince William and Kate Middleton’s reaction to the Rose Hanbury cheating rumors. According to a source at HollywoodLife, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren’t happy, but they’re even more “concerned” for the mystery woman around the rumors: Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Rose Hanbury, who was accused of having an affair with Prince William, which ended her friendship with Middleton. “Kate and William generally ignore these sorts of nasty rumors,” the source said. “But this one has really rocked them, that’s why lawyers are involved. The rumor is so ugly and so false, they couldn’t just ignore it.” According to the source, Prince William and Middleton are even more worried for Hanbury, who hasn’t been in the spotlight as much as the couple. “And it doesn’t just hurt them, they are very concerned for Rose,” the source said.. “She’s a married woman with children, and she’s not used to this kind of public scrutiny. She’s a friend of not only Kate’s but also the entire family, so this is upsetting for everyone.” The source explained that Hanbury’s grandmother was a close friend of Queen Elizabeth II and was even in her wedding party at the Queen’s wedding to Prince Philip in 1947. “[It] couldn’t have come at a worse time for William and Kate, they’re about to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary,” the source said.
