steelie: Please house i've got lil issues with my application for msc at TU Munich. i submitted all my documents and all my documents on my application status are ticked 'ok'. My degree cert. was ticked 'ok' but diploma 'missing' and was told by the admission office to send it, before i could be considered for enrollment for the program. i really don't get what they mean by 'Diploma'cos i'm a degree holder. Could someone kindly explain to me what the Germans mean by that.

also when i was at the abuja embassy, they certified my application form and passport copy without certifying the adm letter though they collected a copy of the admsn letter

Yes I used PDF too. whether u use pdf print out or the original they will still confirm it so it makes no difference.

If you reduce ur age the Embassy will calculate and you will be caught. e.g your were born 1973 and they will minus it from the year you wrote waec or neco. maybe u wrote waec in 1987 and reduced you were born 1980 meaning u wrote weac when u were 7 yrs. Visa denied......

Germans are very strict in rules and that is why their country is progressing. Where there is no rule, the people abuses the system.

If it was German Embassy he will be banned for 6 months. No excuse cos they always here excuse daily.

Getting visa for language course is very difficult please don't waste your time. You saw the last guy's post here that even paid 8,000 euros in his locked account here to study language and yet denied. The Embassy always refer people who wants to learn the language to Goethe institute and see no need traveling to Germany for language. You can use other means to enter easily like genuine visit or other studies but not language cos it doesn't work for German visa.

beebee5000: Wow me too i have such a similar issue but not on my birth cert mine is on my waec certificate my first name, middle name and last names are correct but another letter was added R, i had no issue all through my uni days as i was able to do my clearance and verification exercise with it.
Will i be asked why i dropped the letter in my subsequent certificates?

Your own case is different. you can correct it with sworn affidavits of fact since it's a mistake from waec and u have ur passport there too.

You call it mistake but oyibo call it fraud. That is how dey reason. They don't reason like us in such cases. When i first worked in a bank, every mistake made was considered as attempted fraud by auditors until u prove it.

Godson201333: My Brother they are from naija ooo Sponsorship is used worldwide not only for students but for visitors too,One thing is that you must be rich and have good job before you can get sponsor and you know that hard to get.You must be paying tax too cos the germn government are gonna use all the info just incase that person u wanna sponsor kill,steal or even fall sick na you wey do the sponsor dem go track.

Also the person will have to go to court here to swear affidavit that he or she is willing to sponsor you and will sign the risk involve cos if it happened to be that when you come and you have financial challenges without him helping as sworn in court, you know what that means and people here are always careful when it comes to legal things like this so you cannot arrange this VE cos of the legal implication and only those very close to you can take the risk.

The Embassy can give you more info cos i used a blocked account and has limited knowledge about the sponsorship letter of a thing.

Yes i used a university diploma and Neco. learn C- programing, c++, object oriented programing, matlab spf real time programing also learn a lot of mathematics, calculus, linear algebra and physics-mechnics and electrical analysis etc.

Godson201333: Please once again dont spread rumour,yes sponsorship works,If you got someone in Germany let them get you VE...Most of my friends use VE and 2 just got their student visa today.VE is nt even easy to get but it work and if it doesnt work the embassy would never have put it there as an alternative for block account!morever Germani people like moni thats why they always shouting block account.We all here to learn,not everyone can afford 8,000 euros.

VE works very well cos it is same as block account. Even the VE has weight cos it is not even issued personally but from German government here that they have seen your sponsors account and documents including affidavit that he is able to sponsor u. Embassy honors it.

I just got admitted to an M.Sc program in University of Jena, Will soon apply for a student visa but I don't have a liquid cash of 1.8M to fund a student blocked account in a German bank (because I'm the sole sponsor of myself), although I have more than such amount in assets.

Alternatively, I'm looking at a possibility of having a sponsorship letter sent from a German resident, such that the letter would just be a formality (I can fully pay for my living expenses) to enable me apply for student visa. The bottom line is; I don't have a solid contact with a German citizenship or permanent residence that can help me fix it.

Can anyone help or advise me on how to go about it?

Also, is student Visa interview done at the embassy of Germany in Abuja?

pls open a block account in Germany with 8k euros or look for a German citizen or Nigerian here who has residence permit or has become citizen to issue u a sponsorship letter prepared by the foreigners office here but the person must be earning nothing less than 1500 euros monthly to qualify.

steelie: Hope you know SSCE is not recognised in Germany? Its better you write the IELTS exam before applying for anything online.Don't be in a haste.

SSCE is recocnised but you must top it up either with A level, diploma or one year University transcript/experience. I am studying Bachelors and am advising you guys from experience.

yes they will ban you for 6 months so if u know u gonna miss any appointment, pls council it or reshedule it online else u risk ban and d system will not allow u for further appointment cos it will detect ur int'l passport number.

topeajis: If the. Birth cetificate is from a state govt it will do you since the NPC is lunched in 1987 or so . Cos I used lagos state birth cerficate for ma visa..

yes they prefer any government issued birth certificate cos any one can forge those hospital own.

Godson201333: I am sure we are adult,NPC is a birth cetificate that was changed around 2000s,The old birth certificate is kinda small while the NPC is like a A4 paper size kinda big.So if you were born around 1980s,1970s,1990s,the embassy is not expecting you to bring NPC rather they want to see the old one at the same time every applicants are advised to do afidavit.Like i said just go to any court around you with somewht 2k,passport photograph,your birth certificate,They will do the afidavit and you can take it to the embassy.This is very important to the embassy.Also get a receipt from the court take everything along with you on interview date,dont do fake things ooo...The court must register your afidavit because once the embassy told you to go and they will call you...German embassy have started investigating your documents just every documents they investigate starting from admission letter so let everything be real.YOU can do the age declaration (Afidavit anytime but to make you look responsible ,It should be done at least few days before your interview) make sure you do photocopies of each of your documents.

Disagree with you. When i went for my student visa, i have my hospital birth certificate but the interviewer said she preferred NPC and it is even in their site that you should bring NPC. They know NPC cannot give u certificate without showing affidavit of age declaration or hospital cert. They prefer NPC so that they can confirm easily as most of our hospital where we were born is no longer existing.

Now as at yesterday 04-06-13 I went 4 collection @ d embassy @ VI nd my visa was rejected, with the reason "there are doubts on ur intents to study" I was adviced 2 apply 4 appeal which I av done . I was told d whole appeal process tks upto 2wks nd I reali nid a quick solution as my skul schedule starts by july 8.

First of all, tell me the course u applied for and the duration and how much u paid into ur block account cos for example they don't grant visas for language study etc. reply and i will advise u. I live in Germany.

For the guy asking id there are racist here i posted here before that i have not experience that since I came and other Nigerians who has stayed here up to 4 yrs say nothing like that. I also advise u not to believe people. Come and see things yourself and also tell those guys discouraging you to come back na. Sometimes i get angry how people will be talking non-sense discouraging others from coming and yet they are still in the country and will never come back.make them come back first b4 u believe them.

jejet: If you are coming on student status, I'll advice you learn some programing skills, I'm very certain you get a job at the university or outsourcing job, The demand for programmers is far exceeding the supply. There is more to vocational skills in Germany, especially the language disadvantage; moreover, if you are an artist and you are good at what you do then you are good to go here. I will also advice fellow students (Tope and others) here to build up their IT skills before graduation (programming oder database), cos if you try to build a career that are people oriented rather than machine oriented you will find a lot of difficulties competing with Germans in the labour market. I say all these from my experience.

Jejet what you are saying is what our professors have been advising us of also. I am studying Electrical Engineering and Information technology but the programing courses are just too much. C-programing, Real time programing, c++, object oriented programing,processor/chip programming, etc are to be covered before we graduate and when i asked naija guys in final yr why programing languages just full the course outline they said Germans are lacking programmers. Are you already studying in Germany? My hostel mate just graduated last 2 weeks and has gotten a job. The company asked him to tell them how much he wants to collect.

When I first came to Germany, coping with their education system was not easy at all cos it was too high for me. Engineering is 5 yrs in naija here it's 3 years so it means in 100 Level, you will be doing what 300 Level naija guys are doing. so guys pls prepare urself and brush up before coming or else u wont like the experience.

But the good news is that I am now coping and have started blending with their high system. Before when I am in class, professor go dey teach e be like say na swahili he dey speak i go dey wonder weda i go school for Nigeria before i come here abi wetin dey happen. So I picked up the challenge, went to library, borrow books and always read ahead of the professors and reduced my sleep and YouTube lecture things helped too( e dey hard to see lecturer here. almost all na prof) so right now, i dey cope well. Before you come here, do some revision if na Engineering you wan come read, try revise ur Engineering mathematics and learn some programming language cos you cant escape it here.

Germany is good and off course you know is better than Nigeria.

Yes there are a lot of part-ime and full time jobs. In short the number of vacancies are more than the number of workers but the only problem is that you have to speak fluent German before you can gain a job. I am in Germany studying Engineering and I know what am saying.

Before I came to Germany, I always hear a rumour that they are racist and police country but since I came in March, I have not experience any racism. Germans are so nice. The way they are nice in ther Embassy is the same way they are here. Inshort since I came here i have not even see police not to talk of Army. So dont listen to people. Travel and see tings by youself or ask people there already.

anyway to conclude, maybe it's because am in southern Germany sha cos I don't know of Northern Germany. The only thing I know is that those in NORTHERN SIDE DEY RUN COME SOUTH FOR GREENER PASTURE.

If you see the way Nigerians are speaking Deutsche like say na their muttersprache. They make the things so easy. I admire them.
Here is important information for the house.....
...... ones you have converted ur 3 months visa issued from Nigeria to the residence permit the foreigners office will give you, then you can select a job. I use the word select because work full here die pass the people sef but u must have basic knowledge of German A1 language to do that.
......some guys i have met here earns up to 10-15 euros per hour and depends on how many hours u can work daily without affecting your studies.

...for football. i dont know yet but there are sporting facilities and football clubs in school. if u sabi play well ur star fit shine from there cos they might pick u if u go for good football competitions where u can meet people/coaches.

Transport is free here once u present ur students card during weekends. Like today i went to one African church in close by city and went on tour with my guys to different cities and no dime was paid on transport. only week ends oh. fry 7pm to sunday 11.59pm

Foods cheap here but meat cheap pass. but no better food oh except rice. 6 cups of rice is 0.89 cent. so so bugger and all those oyibo food. maybe with time i will get use to it but now egusi and okror dey hungry me die although u can get it in African shops if u get money to spend.

Lectures and professor here are so nice at least i have 2 yrs university experience in Nigeria and i can tell u that here they teach u to know it unlike naija where u will ask prof question he wil tell u to go and buy hand-out. Just see facilities and equipment everywhere. Practicals everywhere.. tell me why will u forget ...

The city people here are friendly and the weather is moderate unlike North which is very cold. most speak English in southern region here.

I was surprise to even see that people from Canada, usa uk france spain and italy also come here to study lol. pls guys keep your dreams alive and do things correctly. you will get here. peole here are so nice and friendly and dey do speak English especially this southern part. There are few blacks here cos no be everybody get the 8k but any black u see here means they are serious. There are very good jobs available for students. Right now na only me no dey work sef cos everybody for my hostel dey work. This place is nice especially if you really want to study. you have more advantage if you can sprache deutsch.

Thanks Tope. I have collected the VISA today. I did the insurance same day they contacted me so I came to Lagos yesterday and went to the Embassy today at 8am to submit my Travel-health insurance and passport so I was given a slip to come back by 12pm for collection. So I came by 12pm and behold it was my VISA. They also returned all my original documents. I will be flying Lufthansa airline on Saturday 2nd/3/13.

N.B. They accept Travel-health insurance from I.G.I which is cheaper at 15k. AIICO is 23k.
