jnyuwa02: Just to add a caveat, securing a supervisor is not tantamount or close to gaining admission. Out of the pool of applicants who got supervisors, an admission office turns a lot away. The letter of intent is the single most important part of the application process, many schools say so. You are wrong --- Go back to your drawing table and do your research well. |

Go and swear affidavit and send to the school with your proofs that it was not you who paid directly. They will asked you to pay again and unrevoke your admission back to life. |

KlausMike: Good day Everyone! Can anyone here be kind enough to provide advice on my situation.
I have been a silent reader for some time now after several rejections from three canadian school ( carleton, mcgill, manitoba).
Schools and Programs i applied for:
Carleton - Msc Computer Science Mcgill - Msc Electrical and Electronics Manitoba - Msc Computer Science
My Background:
I graduated from a ghanaian university in 2009 (i.e. 8 years ago) with a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2.1). In 2010, after my nysc, i got a job with a business solution provider that deploys software applications like SAP, Sage and have been there since then. I have 2 SAP certifications (SAP Business One and Incident Management with SAP BusinessObjects). Within the years, i have grown to love working with computers and more of the technical aspect (troubleshooting networks, working with operating systems, custom reports using SQL queries etc) of the job as compared to the business consulting part. I got an opportunity to look into studying in canada also with the idea of staying afterwards and started applying last year.
I understand that i don't have a background in computer science but was just hopeful that if i plea my case, and identify my roles and responsibilities over the years, i would be considered and probably be given the option to take some prerequisite course before the main msc program. Well, i guess i was wrong. At the moment i am not sure how to proceed and i am not even sure i would get admission to study electrical and electronics since it has been ages, my work experience is nothing close to electrical and electronics and i like to think 'that boat has sailed'.
Does anyone have any advice as i would not want to miss admissions for 2018.
Thank you guys very much. apply for master in EE that you studied to get visa easily then when you enter Canada u do your favorite course in computer. Change ur cv to EE work experience during visa application. |

nevilbot: This question is for those already in Germany to answer plz and it's about extending the 3 months visa to a 2 year resident permit before d 3 months visa expires.
My question are what's the procedure? Do we need to pay for it cus my classmate from turkey said she was asked to pay 100 euro for a year extension cus her dad scholarship was only for a year so she got extension only for a year. My last statement now brings me to d last and most important question.
A Nigeria guy I met here WO is a bsc student but married to a German told me I will still av to provided prove of fund for my second year to extend my permit for two years and considering wat my Turkish mate told me that she got a year extension cus her daad scholarship was for one year and she will av to go back after year one to show prov DAT she got it extended based on her performance before she gets permit for year two.
All these things dey rack my brains so plz all dos already in Germany who av experience in all des stuffs I tink we need to discuss this. You need to show 8k euro every year to renew and pay 80-100 euro yearly. they give one year and rarely give 2 years. Some strick foreigners office will insist you block the 8k while some are lenient. some accept job contract but difficult to see cos ur job contract is either 4 onths full time or 6 months part time as ur work permit allows so u must still prove how you will cater for your self after first 6 months if u are using contract. |

They replied that they are yet to receive a response from the alien authority at my proposed place of residence in Germany. I sent a mail to the sch explaining why I cldnt make it to Germany b4 the deadline date. I also sent them a copy of the mail I received from the embassy and I asked for further extension. They have not replied my mail till date and jst last nite, I got a mail from the embassy asking me to come with my passport and the printout of the mail I received. There was nothing like health insurance among the requirements. Please what does this mean? will I be issued my student visa or am I being denied the visa? They would have asked you to come with proof of further enrollment extension and travel insurance. But this one wey them no mention insurance so, just try go first and update us. |

esdajo: Hello House,
I got a letter from the German Embassy via FedEx at my home address yesterday regarding the appeal I filed last Tuesday regarding my student visa rejection. They said in the letter that my student visa application verdict remains the same on the following grounds:
1. I presented a passport with forged visa and stamps which made the passport non-visa compatible and that I am yet to present a genuine and authentic International Passport that is visa-compatible.
2. Even if I was to be granted the visa, that there was no way I could have met up with classes for Winter Semester considering when I had my interview and when lectures was to commence, i.e October 13th even though I had been granted an enrollment extension by the host institution.
With regard to the first ground, I already explained in my appeal that it was the visa agent who procured my expired S/African visa some 2 years back that added the fake Israeli visa and stamps on my passport when I contracted him to help me secure the former.
On the second ground, I had my interview on October 2nd but they claimed it was on the 7th; fat lie!
Its common knowledge that sometimes visa issuance does not take more than 2 to 3 weeks and if that is anything to go by, I would have had till the end of this month to get the visa but for the problem with the passport so that excuse does not hold any water at all.
Now the issue is this: I was advised to appeal to the Administrative Court if I am not satisfied with the decision within 30 days. This was in the translated copy accompanying the original copy which was in German and was even advised to get the document translated in English and I keep wondering if there is anything on the original document which was not included in the translated copy and I have uploaded it here for my ogas who are well versed in German language to translate it for me in English, verbatim for verbatim if possible so I will get a good grasp of what the document is all about before I will start reacting on the translated copy as I want to reply them and puncture every statement that is rebuttable on the document and am not ready to leave anything out.
Moreso, I want to know if I should write them and ask if I am under any ban whatsoever as I intend to defer my admission till next summer, get a new passport or replacement as the case may be and then go back to them armed to the teeth but that would be a futile effort if I am under any ban whatsoever as the same fate will befall my enemy unless I am cleared or so I think.
I need the house to contribute and advise me accordingly so I will know the next course of action.
Thanks in anticipation. I am sorry to hear this news. You can see appeal is replied thru mail and not e-mail as I told you. tayoslayer: That is one major issue behind most people's mind. People in Germany testify that the learning is intense and we will have a lot of catching up to do academically. Learning the language while studying intensely and working will definitely rock anybody's world in Germany, so I think learning the language to an extent before Leaving Naija is important to avoid getting almost overwhelmed as we have told a lot about this. Non-EU students are allowed to work for only 20 hours a week( those who work more than this will have to pay into social security but there might be ways around this trust naija). I think how convenient it is depends on the type of Job you get, the type of Job you get also depends on your German proficiency( If you know German, you get more convenient choices where they pay more and if you don't speak German, you have to stick with the fewer English speaking jobs that come your way). If I remember correctly the minimum wage will be 8.5 euro/hour as from 2015 generally. Although this is applicable to people new to the German work system only after 6months of working( google more on this) so you can do the maths of the possible income. Ogas in Germo with the real experience should add or subtract According to work permit, you can worl 4 months full time or 6 month part time to enable you focus on studies. There is no where it was stated you can only work 20 hours per week. |

esdajo: Hello house! I sent an email to the German Embassy on Monday following my student visa refusal and withholding of my passport on account of fake entry/exit stamps and visa immediately I got home and they sent me an email that I can appeal if I think the rejection was wrongful.
I already sent in the Notice of Appeal the following day being the 14th. The question now is; will the appeal be treated here or in Germany and what is the maximum waiting period? If my appeal is allowed; that is, successful, will I be given back my International Passport so I could go for a replacement or they will still send it to the Immigration as alleged in the rejection letter? Moreso, will I be allowed to apply for a German student visa in the near future and how soon? I know my questions are a bit weird but I just want people with similar experiences to comment and/or contribute so I can be better informed. I cant waste 3M like that so its better I know what my chances are so I will know if I should ask the school and Deutsche Bank to refund my money as soon as possible so I can seek admission elsewhere.
Your contributions and/or comments will be highly appreciated as usual. You will hear from them via mail/letter not email (they will post the decision to the address in your appeal) within 3-5 working days of submission. (speaking from experience from the guy i knew that appealed not quite long) he waited so long for the appeal until he wrote the Embassy and the Embassy replied that they have sent him the appeal decision via mail/letter so the guy complained he did not received it so he was asked to come to Embassy and collect it directly (the letter was dated just 3 days from when he submitted) which he did as Embassy refused to scan it to him cos he lives in Benin. I hope you do receive letter at the address you used? The appeal will be treated in Nigeria not Germany. If your appeal is allowed, then your student visa application will be forwarded to Germany for approval. You will have to sort out your int'l passport issue yourself with the immigration office where they said they will send it to, if your appeal is allowed. |

LyfeJennings: Brov,U spoken words of wisdom. Seem like U saw through me. I'm a staunch believer of God & practice my religion so deep. I went for medicals last year, paid my full tuition & accommodation,I even paid extra 2,000usd as agent fee. Just for no reason,ABSOLUTELY NO REASON,I was denied. Felt terrible & my faith shook. My faith in God trembled,I was tried in the most unusual manner. It didnt stop there,I applied 2more times with full documentations & met brickwalls.
Moral of the story is through the whole ugly happenings/denial,I was strong to myself,I rededicated myself & learned the word patience... I sowed the seeds of patience & learned lessons money would never buy. This is my fourth application & I dont understand any alphabet of the word "faith" like I used to but I do hope I get the reward of my "patience" seed & I harvest with a big smile..
Thanks brov Your faith has made you whole. Go and take your visa |

Holu26: This is for the benefits of those that had been delayed before. Don't give up!!!
Most of us have a distorted idea about patience. We think of it as something designed to help us suffer failure gracefully, but according to these scriptures"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.", it will actually put us on the path to success! Patience (or being consistently constant) is the power twin of faith. They work together to see to it that the promises of God are fulfilled in your life. Say, for example, you need a job. You can go to the Word and see clearly that God promises to provide your needs. You can see He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. Once you see that, faith takes hold and you shout, "Hallelujah, I've got the job I need." But what happens to that faith tomorrow morning when you go to three interviews and get turned down all three times? Then what? That's when patience has to take over! That's when you have to make a decision to stay constant, to act as if nothing's changed. The truth is, if you based your confidence on the Word of God, nothing has changed. It says exactly the same thing it said yesterday. So, if you'll put patience to work, you know what you're going to say after those three unsuccessful job interviews? You're going to say, "Hallelujah, I've got the job I need!" just like you did before. You see, faith opens the door to God's promise for you; and patience keeps it open until that promise is fulfilled. Do you have your faith sights set on a promise of God today, a promise you've been waiting on for some time? Don't let the delay discourage you. Put patience to work. The Word guarantees you will receive your reward. Preach it Brother |

esdajo: Good day house. I was at the embassy this morning as expected and to my greatest surprise I was rejected a student visa, reason: fake visa and/or entry and exit stamps on my passport.
I travelled to South Africa in August 2012 and the visa agent that procured the visa for me stamped a fake Israel visa and entry and exit stamps on the passport and his reason was that if the passport was virgin or fresh, the South African Embassy then may refuse the visa application. Eventually I got the visa then. At the point of departure, the immigration official detected and withheld my passport but because I was assisted by an Immigration officer, my passport was later given to me and I left successfully without any hassles.
Got back in December 2012, collected my NYSC certificate as I was still serving at the time I travelled. Started working where I still am till date in January 2013. Saved a little then decided to pursue my Masters in Germany since it's quite affordable when compared to the US, Canada or even the UK.
Now my student visa application was refused, passport confiscated and was told to contact the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service at GRA, Ikeja. I know if I go there, I will be arrested so I decided to come down here to Immigration office in Festac town to see how I can retrieve the passport using an officer and then do a fresh one, if possible .
The question now is how possible is it to get a fresh passport using the same details as I am not ready to bear another name and can I still reapply for a German student visa after getting a new passport or I should just forget about Germany for now and request the school to refund my 5,000 Euros (US$6,500) tuition fee and ask the bank to wire my money back into my Nigerian Dom account from where I initially initiated the transfer.
I already called the agent and told him what that act he did 2 years ago has caused me and he was very apologetic and was even praying for me on the phone but the did had been done already and there is no point crying over spilled milk.
Please house, what are my chances of getting another passport using an insider so they won't bar me from getting another one or even blacklisting my name and picture in any of the passport offices and/or the airports due to what happened and how soon can I reapply for a German student visa if I get a new passport or is there a life ban or any other temporary ban for such and what are my chances of getting a visa if I later reapply since they would know I have been refused before on this ground.
Please I need you comments and/or contributions no matter how hurting it may sound as the truth hurts anyway but there is nothing I can do about the reality and it's better to know than to keep wasting time, money and having false hopes. Comments please ! O'boy your case is very serious oh. First of all even if you get new passport, don't waste time applying for Germany visa again cos your name has been blacklisted already in their system and next time, by entering your thump print/biometrics, all your denial reason and details will show even if your passport number changes. Don't even near any schengen country again for now. My Advise: Try to get a new passport to get rid of that fake visa in the old one if not any Embassy you carry that fake visa to will still detect and same consequences will continue. Try other Embassies with your new passport but not German or schengen Embassies cos they share the same Data Base. You might not necessarily have been banned but just that the bad record is already in their systems with your biometrics details. Further advise: Never do anything fake just to get visa cos the punishment sometimes is more than the offense. In your next application to other countries that does not have your bad record, use genuine documents and leave the rest for God. It is not a do or die affair. When is your turn to travel you will travel as far as your hands are clean. Take heart and move ahead. Life goes on. |

researchQ: BREAKING NEWS My people, I just got a call this morning from my friend in Germany that now if you want to invite someone from any West African country Nigeria inclusive, you have to pay money. 1700€ for 1 month visa, 2000€ for two months visa and so forth...ie with letter of invitation. He said it all because of the Ebola outbreak. if any one gets visa now I think the person is lucky. He even asked if any one has gotten the study visa recently. I told him that I don't know. May the good Lordnot allow this to hinder us from going to Germany o. A reasonable country will not collect that money from you and still allow you enter their country when they know you have ebola. If the claim is true, then maybe they want to start what UK tried that did not work by collecting money before you enter then if you refuse to return back to Naija, then your money will not be refunded just to check illegal immigrants as the number of those chopping aduro here is increasing on daily basis. and if this claim is true, then it is a discrimination which is not accepted in international diplomacy. Most of their expatriates work in our oil coys so they will have to pay 100,000 Euro before they enter too. |

Has anyone's application gotten to the school a few days late and the school accepted it? Abeg i dont want to waste my 9k if they wont accept. Awaiting replies please. Answering you from the German point of view, from experience in Germany, how they value time and deadline, I would say NO Solution: call and not write email which might not be replied quickly. tossbal4real: Don't be negative just have an open mind. From past precedence asking you to come within one week after your interview is not a good sign. However it may be that they are asking you to come over so they can return your passport back to you because keeping it back is not the usual practice of the German embassy. Just stay prayerful and positive. It will be well. If you were going for undergraduate program, I would say they asked you to come because they want to give you a Maths test. Last week, my friend had his interview and this Tuesday he was asked to come to Embassy so we wondered what might be wrong, when the guy got there, they gave him maths test to write and ask him to go that he will hear from them. Things are changing..... But for your case a Law student who doesn't do Maths, I don't think it's Maths they want to set for you. Or have they started setting test for Master applicants too? |
