EducationASUU Vows To Continue Strike Until... by kelvee(op): 4:06am On Nov 23, 2018
By Ola Ajayi IBADAN—THE Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, vowed to continue with the ongoing strike embarked upon by its members until the Federal Government accedes to all its demands.

Making allusion to a comment credited to the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, the union, through its Chairman, University of Ibadan, Dr Deji Omole, clarified that the strike was declared over alleged failure of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to fulfil the content of the Memorandum of Action it signed with the Union in 2017. The contents, according to him, bordered on revatilisation and funding of universities, unpaid accumulated earned academic earned allowances, release of University staff pension company license among other issues.

Don't you get it?

Women are not allowed to teach in the Church. Doing such makes you as wicked as Jezebel because you are usurping the authority of man.

1 Timothy 2:12

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Revelations 2:20

Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.
Galatians 3:28 ESV / 73 .
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

alBHAGDADI:
All these people who have spoken in support of her have shown they don't even know the word of God. Firstly, what she said is no different from scam of the highest order.

Secondly, she is not authorized to preach in the house of God because she is a woman. The Bible states that woman are to learn in silence while in the congregation and never to teach. So, for all these preachers to be showing her support when they ought to be shunning her, is enough to show they know nothing about the Bible and what it teaches. No wonder many of them have questionable character.

My sermon this Sunday will show you how wrong it is for a woman to teach in Church. Jesus even called such women JEZEBEL.

STAY TUNED.
I wonder your kind of church.
Revelation 2:20 ESV.
But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols...
"Who calls herself a prophetess" means she's not a true prophetess.

CelebritiesBill And Melinda Gates: Thank You For your love for Naija by kelvee(op): 5:58am On Apr 02, 2018
BILL Gates, came visiting, once again in March this year: Gates is well known as the founder of Microsoft; the very successful High-tech Company which made him the second richest man in the world at one time.
The story is worth telling that Bill Gates, was a total stranger to Warren Buffet, when he (Gates) first approached the world’s richest man to discuss his vision of bringing improved health care delivery to billions of people worldwide. Remarkably, however, the two super-billionaires quickly bonded and the product of that meeting was that Warren Buffet, soon after, donated $30bn (thirty billion dollars), almost all his wealth to Bill Gates, to pursue laudable health projects and other social interventions, which will touch lives of hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
In a widely reported speech by Bill Gates to distinguished Nigerians in Aso-Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, last week, Gates noted that his initial dream was to make peoples’ life better, by giving everybody computer access, at affordable cost; however, according to the billionaire, “As I got older, travelled more and learned more about the world, I realized that billions of people had a problem that computers couldn’t solve. They lacked the basics of a good life; food, shelter, health, education and opportunity”.
Consequently, with the billions of dollars earned from Microsoft “we started working toward a different goal; a healthy and productive life for everyone.” Bill Gates This vision, according to Gates, is the reason “why I come to Nigeria; and that’s why Melinda and I will continue coming for as long as we are able.” Instructively, the Gates Foundation’s biggest office in Africa is located here in Nigeria and over $1.6bn has been expended, so far, particularly in health related interventions; nonetheless, according to Gates “we plan to increase our commitment! The chances are that strong arguments were, by competitive interests to locate the Foundation’s Africa Head office, anywhere but Nigeria, and issues of corruption, difficulty in engaging government and its agencies, poor power infrastructure, insecurity etc, would have been cited as impediments to attract the Foundation’s largest office in Africa elsewhere. But No! the soft spoken, self-effacing gentle man closed instead to work in the eye of the storm, and ensure that the national ‘epicenter’ of the polio virus, which the Gates Foundation sought to eradicate world-wide was the congruent location.
According to Gates, “I’ve always felt welcome in Nigeria. Nigerians usually greet me warmly. The first time I met the Sultan of Sokoto, I was honoured that he greeted me with the gift of a white horse.” The Gates’ Foundation has strong relationships with Federal and State governments, businesses, NGOs and Civil society organizations. “We are eager” according to Gates to “support you as you work to make Nigeria a global economic powerhouse, that provides opportunity for all its citizens, as you strive to fulfill this country’s immense purpose”.

NAIRALANDERS PLEASE HELP ME, MY LIFE IS IN DANGER.

Since 5 days ago, I've been receiving many calls from unknown people telling me that someone reported me to them that I'm sleeping with his wife.

Also, 3 days ago, someone posted the same thing on my facebook timeline.

Almost all my facebook friends were also messaging me that they heard that I slept with a woman.

Also, this morning, another unknown person called me to console me on the death of my sister [in which my sister is not dead at all]

What I noticed is that all the unknown callers keep mentioning my full names.

Please, Im a 19 year old boy and also a virgin, I'm a very shy person, I don't like walking with people, not to even talk of having sex with a married woman.
I've never meet the woman anywhere.

My hand is shaking seriously as I'm typing this.

Please what can I do?

CrimeAbaribe, Jewish High Priest Risk Jail As Lawyer Says Kanu's Whereabouts unknown. by kelvee(op): 4:33am On Sep 26, 2017
ABUJA – Unknown whereabout of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, may have placed a serving Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe and a Jewish High Chief Priest, Immanuu El-Shalom, at risk of being sent to prison.
Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Both Abaribe who is representing Abia South Senatorial District and El-Shalom, had on April 28, entered an undertaken to produce Kanu before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court on October 17 to face treasonable felony charge the Federal Government preferred against him and four other pro-Biafra agitators.
Kanu was billed to appear before trial Justice Binta Nyako to be re-arraigned on an amended five count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, alongside his co-defendants, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi and Bright Chimezie. However, Kanu’s lead counsel, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, in a telephone interview with Vanguard last night, said he does not know the whereabout of his client.
Ejiofor said his only contact with the IPOB leader was few minutes before the Nigerian Army “invaded” his (Kanu’s) hometown. He said that Kanu called him on phone, complaining that he was under attack from soldiers that were deployed to his compound by FG. Ejiofor who said he would not be surprised if FG decides to move against those that stood surety for his client, maintained that the burden was on the prosecution to produce Kanu in court on the adjourned date. “The fact is that they are in a position to produce him at the next adjourned date.
It is public knowledge that my client had before his house was invaded, always made himself available for trial. “He never evaded trial as he made it known that he was ready. If he wanted to jump bail, he would have done so immediately he was released from prison. But he did not run. “The last time I spoke with my client was the day his house was invaded by soldiers. He called me and complained that he was being attacked by soldiers who he said were shooting sporadically. since then, I have not heard from my client again. “If he is alive, they should tell the court on that day. They will not only explain to the trial court, but will also produce the soldiers that went to his home to attack him”, Ejiofor added.
FG had among other things, alleged that Kanu, his co-defendants and other persons still at large, had “on diverse dates in 2014 and 2015 in Nigeria and London, United Kingdom, did conspire amongst yourselves to broadcast on Radio Biafra monitored in Enugu and other areas within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, preparations being made by you and others at large, for states in the South-East and South-South zones and other communities in Kogi and Benue States to secede from the Federal Republic of Nigeria with a view to constituting same into a Republic of Biafra and you thereby committed an offence punishable under section 516 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2000”. It told the court that Kanu had “on or about the 28th April, 2015 in London, United Kingdom did in a broadcast on Radio Biafra monitored in Enugu, Enugu state and other parts of Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, referred to Major General Muhammadu Buhari, GCON, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a paedophile, a terrorist, an idiot and an embodiment of evil, knowing same to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 375 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C. 38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004”. Kanu who is the 1st defendant, is facing four out of the five count amended charge. Meanwhile, as the scheduled trial date draws closer, insinuations are rife that the IPOB leader who has remained incommunicado since the Nigerian Military began its code-named Operation Python Dance II, in the South East, particularly in his state, may not make himself available “for security reasons”.
This was even as a member of the prosecution team that spoke to Vanguard last night, disclosed that FG would on October 17, not only move the court to revoke Kanu’s bail, but equally apply for a bench warrant to be issued against his three sureties. According to the government lawyer who craved anonymity because he was not cleared to speak on the matter: “The position of the law is very clear to the effect that when a defendant jumps bail, his surety is made to pay for the offence upon which the trial was based. It is there in the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. “If for any reason Kanu fails to submit himself for trial on October 17, we will have no other option than to apply for immediate arrest of all his three sureties. We will move the trial court to issue a bench warrant against them. “We have their full details, and don’t forget that they were made to sign an undertaken by the court before the defendant was released on bail”, he added. It will be recalled that Justice Nyako had in a ruling on April 25 released Kanu on bail after he had spent a year and seven months in detention, though the court okayed his co-defendants to remain in prison custody. The court which stressed that it released Kanu on health ground, however compelled him to produce three sureties, including “a Jewish leader” and a “highly placed person of Igbo extraction”, who all deposited N100million each. Aside Abaribe and El-Shalom, a Chartered Accountant residing in Abuja, Mr. Tochukwu Uchendu, equally signed undertaken as Kanu’s third surety.
Kanu who was arrested upon his return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom on October 14, 2015, got his sureties, three days after he was granted bail by the high court. The IPOB leader had earlier filed a motion, asking the trial Judge to vary some of the bail conditions he maintained were arbitrary and unconstitutional. As part of his conditions for bail, Kanu was expressly barred by the court from attending any rally or granting any form of interview. “I must stress it here that the defendant must not attend any rally. He must not be in a crowd exceeding 10 persons”, the Judge warned. The court insisted that the IPOB leader must sign an undertaken to make himself available for trial at all times. He was equally ordered to surrender his Nigerian and British international passports. In his motion for variation of the bail conditions, Kanu contended that some of the conditions were directly in conflict with his constitutionally guaranteed fundamental human rights and therefore ought to be set-aside. Aside challenging the variation request, FG, in a fresh application it filed on August 25, applied for Kanu’s bail to be revoked
. It predicated the application on section 169 and 173(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015. Describing Kanu as a threat to national security, FG alleged that he engaged in several acts it said were capable of sparking civil unrest and anarchy in the country. It specifically applied for an order “directing the arrest and committing of the 1st defendant to custody pending trial”.

EducationParents, students Commend ASUU For Calling Off Strike by kelvee(op): 4:29pm On Sep 19, 2017
University students have expressed happiness over the decision by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its five-weeks old strike. Some of the students told newsmen in Yenagoa on Tuesday that they were glad to hear that the union had called off the strike. The national body called off the industrial action on Monday. Francis Alazial, a final year student of Niger Delta University (NDU) Amasomma, said he was short of words to express his happiness over the call off. He said “I cannot express my joy since I heard the news that ASUU had called off the strike. “I am in my final year and about to finish my semester examination when lecturers commenced the strike.” Another 300 level student of NDU, Paul Semion, described ASUU decision as a welcome development, saying students would now resume normal academic activities from Wednesday. He, however, called on the Federal Government to keep to the agreements reached between it and the lecturers so as not to disrupt academic activities in universities again. “The Federal Government should try as much as possible to keep to the promises reached to ensure uninterrupted academic activities in future,” he added. Similarly, most of the parents who spoke to NAN on the issue expressed gratitude to ASUU and government for making it possible for academic activities to resume. They, however, advised lecturers to always go for dialogue in resolving dispute rather th

Health20 Things You Didn't Know About Beer. by kelvee(op): 1:19pm On Sep 19, 2017
1. The oldest known recipe is for a 4,000-year-old beer made by the Sumerians.
2. In the 1980s, Anchor Brewing re-created these ancient Fertile Crescent suds.
3. Sumeria’s neighbors, the Egyptians, built the pyramids under the influence. Workers at Giza received about four liters of beer a day, according to Patrick McGovern, a biomolecular archaeologist at the University of Pennsylvania.
4. Beer (in part because it contains antimicrobial ethanol) was a healthier drink than polluted Nile river water.
5. Ethanol, the intoxicant in beer, is a powerful antiseptic, but not a good cold remedy. The optimal blood alcohol content to kill germs would be more than 60 percent. Alas, that’d kill you, too. (Fatal alcohol poisoning occurs between 0.40 and 0.50 percent.)
6. Salud! Researchers at the University of Western Ontario found that micronutrients called polyphenols in one 12-ounce (0.35-liter) bottle of beer create protective levels of plasma antioxidants that can prevent heart disease.
7. But at three bottles a day, the cardiovascular benefits of beer are reversed by the pro-oxidants your body creates as it metabolizes excess ethanol.
8. Another side effect, beer farts, might earn you an offer for a bung — the large cork that seals a cask’s bunghole to allow beer to ferment properly.
9. In Great Britain alone, 93,000 liters of beer are rumored to be lost each year in facial hair.
10. You might have known that fact if you were a beer expert, or cerevisaphile — a word derived from the Latin name of the Roman goddess of agriculture, Ceres, and vis, meaning strength.
Ernie Mastroianni/DISCOVER
11. More on-tap trivia: “Aplenty bahl steinber horn!” means “A really great beer!” in Boontling, a folk language developed by workers in the hop fields of California’s Anderson Valley.
12. Hops, the bittering agent in beer, belong to the family Cannabaceae, making them marijuana’s close cousins and lending a little perspective to the term “hopped up.”
13. Trippy: Stanford researchers found that beer bubbles create a gravity-defying loop. Bubbles head up in the center where frictional drag from the glass is less and down on the outside as the top gets crowded.
14. While you’re examining your beer, try an experiment: Tilt the glass to see if foam adheres to the side. If it does, that’s called “Brussels lace,” considered by some to be a sign of high-quality beer — and clean glasses.
15. Experimenting with beer has taken many forms. John Lubbock, an 18th-century naturalist, studied the behavior of beer-boozy ants.
16. If the wandering drunken insects stumbled upon sober comrades from the same nest, they were carefully carried back home to sleep it off. Drunken strangers met a different fate: They got tossed.
17. According to a study from the London Business School, political differences dictate American beverage choice: Conservatives prefer domestic pours such as Busch to imports like Guinness.
18. Speaking of Guinness, to pour a perfect pint of the company’s stout, you need to let it rest for exactly 119.5 seconds between the first pour and the top-up — a period called the surge and settle.
19. That’s when nitrogen comes out of solution and forms a creamy head.
20.What do you call the study and practice of yeast fermentation in brewing? (Hint: It’s also the last word in many dictionaries, as well as in this issue of DISCOVER.) Zymurgy.

A humanitarian medical organisation, Medecins Sans Frontieres said about 48 persons have died of cholera since the outbreak of the disease last month in Borno state.

The organisation otherwise called Doctors without Borders, said that 2,627 cases of the disease were recorded by the state ministry of health.

Anna Cilliers, MSF’s Medical Coordinator said that the organisation had scaled up its campaign to contain the cholera outbreak in Maiduguri, Monguno and Dikwa local government areas of the state.

“As new cases of cholera emerged from Monguno, Dikwa and other parts of Maiduguri, MSF continues to scale up its response in the state. Since the start of the outbreak, a total of 2, 627 cholera cases and 48 deaths were reported by the Borno State Ministry of Health. The state capital Maiduguri alone has witnessed 1,425 cases, while 600 cases in Dikwa and 602 cases in Monguno have so far been reported.

“Early diagnosis and treatment is vital to tackle cholera outbreak. As cases of the disease increased in Maiduguri, we rapidly set up a 100-bed capacity Cholera Treatment Centre (CTU) at Dala area of Maiduguri”.

Cilliers disclosed in a statement that since August 16, some 491 patients were admitted and 475 discharged at the centre.

She added that the organisation had also set up another 50-bed capacity CTU centre at the Muna Garage Internally Displaced Persons camp in the outskirts of Maiduguri, adding that the centre would be upgraded to 100-bed capacity in the coming days, if the conditions warranted it.

The medical coordinator lamented that the disease has begun to spread to other camps in the surrounding area and into the city.

To contain the situation, Cilliers said, MSF operated an Oral Rehydration Point, where patients could access sugar and salt solution to help them to overcome severe dehydration.

“Patients arriving here in critical condition are taken directly in our ambulances to the cholera treatment centres
