Celebrities / An Open Letter To Afro Candy by kelyusuf: 3:38pm On Jun 06, 2013
Madam,
I am going to make it brief, and the reason is simple: you do not deserve wasting time on. The internet, for the past weeks, has been awash with an embarrassing self-debasement of your own womanhood; something every responsible lady holds dear to; something even ten year old girls recognise should be kept sacred. But I do not blame you. Fame is a good devil, you know.
Just to be known, you have sold your pride for nothing. You have brought disgrace upon your siblings, upon your immediate and extended family, upon your community, upon Imo state, UPON Igboland, upon Nigeria, and even Africa. You have brought disgrace upon women, and children. I am so sorry for your kids. I would not want to be them at the moment. You have forever made them objects of ridicule. Forever, they would be known as those people whose mother invaded an embarrassed nation with her female anatomy.
Everyone wants to be popular. You obviously wanted to be known as a popular actress, but let me quickly reveal to you that you are a horrible actress. Watching you is a torture. The only time I ever saw you on screen, you acted a minor role. Even then, my aged grandmother still noticed you were terrible. Saying you do not have a single acting talent would amount to committing a grave sin of understatement. Even attending an acting school would not remedy it.
I know you have no shame, else you would have noticed that Cossy Orjiakor, of all people, practically rejected your offer of a porn movie. That should tell you how bad it is. I pity you. Like a mad man in the market, only your relatives are ashamed. You say you are in your forties. I think you are arguably older than Ngozi Ezeonu, certainly older than Joyce Kalu, definitely older than Chinyere Wilfred, maybe even older than Patience Ozokwor. Yet they are doing much better, without showing even a little chunk of their breasts.
You have disgraced womanhood, of which my mother is part of. For that reason, I am going to use an insulting word on you; one I have never used on anyone since I started writing. You are an IDIOT.
Enjoy your popularity. It surely would not last.

Literature / There Was An Icon - A Tribute To Chinua Achebe by kelyusuf: 10:33am On Mar 23, 2013
It was almost as if he knew. The day everyone - those who believe, trust and love him – dreaded finally arrived. And it was a shock. The high number of tributes from eminent Nigerians to the most popular literary icon in Nigeria, Chinua Albert Achebe, is a clear testament to the fact he was well revered, not just in the literary community, but everywhere.
It felt like yesterday when what would turn out to be his last published work on earth, but by no means the last he must have written, generated public commendation and condemnation in equal measure. What makes a work great is how people agree and disagree with it. On account of that, we could boldly conclude his last work, ‘There Was A Country’ was great.
On my birthday on November 17, just a day after his birthday, someone sent me a message, “Happy birthday to the Chinua Achebe of our time”. I have not lost that message ever since. My desperation to be associated with him, my tenacity to get close to his level, my unrepentant and shameless allegiance to him and indeed my obdurate love for all his works has never left me. I remember one of the Old Boys’ homecoming at the prestigious Government College Umuahia. There, even as a student in JSS3, I had already started priding myself as Achebe’s protégé. Lots of eminent Nigerians who attended this citadel of learning were there. I waited and waited to see him arrive. My wait was to turn out in vain; the homecoming, a personal disappointment.
That Achebe touched the lives of many with his pen would be stating the obvious. He was bold. He was strong. He was courageous. He was blunt. He was fearless. He was thorough. His dream of seeing Nigeria great always took an emotional dimension.
“I’m just devastated”, another respected Nigerian writer Wole Soyinka stated. He may have been devastated at the death of Achebe, but he would be more devastated that an instrument of collective change has gone.
While mourning, we are consoled by the fact he has lived his life, has contributed his quota and has left Nigerians with much more hope than before. Now, we know the fight for the redemption of this country should be collective. Now, we know where to start from and why that fight should even be waged.
“It is for the sake of the future of Nigeria, for our children and grandchildren, that I feel it is important to tell Nigeria’s story, Biafra’s story, our story, my story,” he said, in the introductory part of his now-controversial ‘There Was A Country’. The timing of that story, as it has turned out, couldn’t have been better.
Rest In Peace Chinua Achebe! I am eternally proud to be associated with you. Now, the time has come to follow your footsteps. Where it leads, we are sure, would never be regretted.

Politics / Re: Orji Is To Abia What Mandela Is To South Africa - Abia Commissioner by kelyusuf: 9:19am On Jan 29, 2013
The commissioner is Eze Chikamnayo, not Agbazuere.however, both are a disgrace to Igboland. No man born of a woman would have the heart to praise Gov Orji, with what is happening there.so I want to believe those two guys who wrote in his support are either an account run by orji himself on nairaland,or his children.I mean, this is embarrassing

Politics / Abia Governor, A Joker? by kelyusuf: 3:44pm On Aug 10, 2012
It is an embarrassment when people say what is not. It is even more embarrassing when they do so with aplomb. Nigeria has been littered with all manner of liars, propagandists and tale-tellers. However, that does not remove the fact they tell those things, just to make people believe them.
I ran into a statement credited to the Special Adviser to Abia state governor, where he said things no less embarrassing than annoying.
"My resolve to change Aba cannot be deterred by mischief makers. Our detractors are envious because we have done the unexpected, particularly in Aba, where we tackled the infrastructural decay," he said. Please can someone tell me I am dreaming? Because, as far as I am concerned, this statement is a travesty! I cannot believe this government has yet to join the moving train, which is providing good governance. Celebrating 'achievements' on the pages of newspapers is such an old fashioned style. Abia people, especially Aba people, are seriously in great pains.
"It is noteworthy, even to the undiscerning mind, that we engaged Aba from scratch because of the long neglect of the city by previous governments," he stated further.
Abia people are in deep sadness. Workers are not being paid and infrastructural development is at a zero level. With this recent statement by the inconsiderate government, it looks like the situation isn't going to get any better.
So sad.
Politics / Re: Ta Orji Disgraced At Aba During Ojukwu Burial Rites by kelyusuf: 9:44am On Mar 02, 2012
Please, nobody should blame Abians for Orji's return. He rigged himself in. It is surely not our fault that we have no politician in the mould of Rochas. I was at the stadium when d governor was booed. Basically,d man has done nothing close to a mustard seed in d state.those who saw him get booed on tv saw nothing compared to d boos he got when he was leaving.there were more crowds outside the stadium and they booed him badly.at a point,I thought they were going to throw stones on him.thankfully, they didn't.I hate it when people come here on NL to joke around. People like Johnson wateva should understand they have no other state than abia, and whatever affects it also affects them.therefore they should get serious when people speak he truth about the governor's non-performance.
Whether or not abians were cowards for allowing a clown return as governor is open to debate. What is however not debatable is the fact the governor is a big big failure and if he stays until 2015, Abia would regress to an alarming extent. Let God come to our aid. That is what we need now. It is that bad.
I know we would overcome and God would wipe our tears.we are suffering in that state.in a way,I'm not so surprised.know why? There is a saying "you can't give what you don't have". The governor lacks basic IQ,and therefore cannot give anything good.its a big shame.just listen to every of his statements.very very sad indeed.
Abians,simply put,have a misfit as governor.
Celebrities / Martin Elechi's Islamic Agenda by kelyusuf: 4:08pm On Dec 11, 2011
Eastern governors would not cease to amaze me. When Anglican Bishop of Afikpo, Rt. Rev. Paul Udogu, accused Ebonyi state governor, Chief Martin Elechi, of trying to Islamize the state, thereby breeding potential Boko Haram members, I couldn't believe it. Here was an experienced man, who didn't need to be told the enormity of such actions. What exactly did he do? Well, Elechi was, or is, planning to establish an Almajiri school in Afikpo, in the Eastern part of the country. Hear him, or his aide, or whoever: "the state government like all modern governments in 21st century believes in freedom of worship. This principle of secularity in governance is in tandem with Nigeria’s philosophy of religious diversity, where Christians, Moslems and Traditional worshippers are at liberty to practice their religious intolerance and hate," he, or they, quipped, "The government has been offering assistance to Christian churches in the state in response to reasonable appeals made towards the execution of important projects, as such, the promise to assist the Moslems was certainly not an outlandish commitment."
Oh yes, it isn't, sir. Yes, we want freedom of everything, including religion, but Mr G'vnor cannot claim not to understand the people's fears. Do not infiltrate this region with Islamic establishments. Let us be the way we are. We need no bombings, we need no boko haram, we need no religious conflicts.
What is even my business? Am I from Ebonyi state? No! But then all those killed in Yobe state recently, were not from Borno state, were they?
Oga g'vnor! Oga g'vnor!! Oga g'vnor!!! Shine your eyes o!

Celebrities / Final Thought On 'illuminati Mohits' by kelyusuf: 5:11pm On Aug 31, 2011
"Its stories like this about me that makes me doubt that the shit exists in the first place"
Before you start wondering who said what, let me quickly tell you it was Don Jazzy, who took to twitter last week to deny the rumour making the rounds that he and his Month'hits crew were members of the illuminati cult. Let me refresh your memories a bit on the now-famous 'illuminati story'
", there is incontrovertible proof that Nigerian superstar entertainer, D’Banj, and other members of Mo’Hits record label headed by prolific producer, Don Jazzy, are 100% confirmed members of the uber-evil secret cult, the Illuminati, "
They even quoted Dr Zen Solonso,'' a Zen expert and an expert on everything Illuminati,"
", one of the biggest objectives of the Illuminati is to turn everybody gay – this is why their known members like Kanye West, dress like Gay men. It would be recalled that D’Banj and Don Jazzy have recently signed up to Kanye Wests’ record label, "

Also, in the group’s video "Don Jazzy is wearing what looks like chequered trousers."

“This alternating pattern of white and black squares is the Illuminati’s mind control method," Dr. Zen rattled on, pointing out that "the song’s catchy tune and highly danceable sound is down to Don Jazzy’s pants." (Oh dear!!!)

Now, the expert Dr. Zen gave further evidence, which of course sounds unfortunate. Now, Don Jazzy has used one statement, and a strong one at that, to make mockery of the allegation.
I got lots of opinions from people who read my earlier write-up on this, and questions on whether or not the group were actually members of the said cult. My first reaction should be, "I don't know. Afterall, I'm no member of the illuminati". But then, I feel I have a right to an opinion.
All 'evidence' point to nothing, and I can merely dismiss the claims with one word, HOG-WASH!!!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Epl Club Description- A Must Read by kelyusuf: 8:25pm On Aug 30, 2011
MAN UNITED is like a student that doesn't read throughout the semester but reads for exams and comes first at the end.
ARSENAL is the youngest boy in class, very brilliant but always has exam fever :& He manages to still be among the best in the class.

CHELSEA is the big bully of the class. He has come first a few times but his rich father has not come to terms with d fact dt Man-U is a better student.

LIVERPOOL alwys wants to claim he is the best because his father was the best during his time in the same school.

MAN CITY is the son of the richest man in town. His parents have hired the best lesson teachers to coach him. He is starting to contest with the guys at the top.

As for TOTTENHAM.He doesn't really want to be first, all he wants is to be better than ARSENAL,his next door neighbor.

TV/Movies / Re: Will A Nollywood Movie Sell Without A Popular Face? by kelyusuf: 1:04pm On Aug 19, 2011
D viewers are used to lack of quality, so they feel they could at least see faces they admire, at least for their excellence in role interpretation.
Trust me, once we increase the all-round quality of our movies, it wouldn't really matter how popular the role interpreter is, rather how well he/she does it.

Crime / The Confusion Trailing Mikel's Father's Kidnap by kelyusuf: 7:59am On Aug 18, 2011
"We have not been contacted and as such we don't know his present location, as I told you, we have only recovered the car through the assistance of somebody who saw it and reported to us." That was Mrs Rose Obi, Mikel's mother.
"We have been contacted. We are happy. At least, we know he is alive." That was the eldest Obi.
Now, it has been revealed the kidnappers have demanded €90,000 (about 20 million naira). So, which exactly do people out there believe? Has Mr Obi been confirmed alive and the family contacted? Or is it just his car, rather than himself, that has been 'contacted'?
Well, as long as the police are in control, then no problem.
Crime / Kidnap Of Mikel's Father Makes Mockery Of Naija by kelyusuf: 10:15pm On Aug 17, 2011
For a country known by the outside world for all the wrong reasons, any other vice is hardly wanted. Mikel Obi, Nigerian international, has begged kidnappers of his father to let him go.
"I've always tried to help the country in everyway I can, serving the country. I think this is time for the country as well to help me in this situation", he said.
Unfortunately, it isn't about how much the country has been served. The issue is that things have gone so bad, that kidnap is merely seen in the mould of mere pick-pocketing. It is a general problem, not a personal issue.
With the recent bombings, surely this is a new embarrassment, one we are surely not surprised to hear.
The solution can only come through action, not words.
