God bless you for this. I have just seen that my son's PAL for U of R has been sent since 12th and was in Junk. I went to check after reading this message and Gbam! it's been there since a week and I have been apprehensive for nothing ...it was sent by my creds for those waiting for Sask PAL

Chapecoense:

Hey, my bro just got his attestation letter for U of R. Just Make sure your tuition deposit has been paid to be placed on the eligible list.

looks like the Saskatchewan province schools didnt send out letters generally on PAL issuance process like others did. When we were following up with Regina for PAL, someone informed me that he had gotten his PAL after paying CAD5k. Just doesn't seem to be coordinated

Well done for all you do. Please do you have any idea about Prince Rupert in BC? How good the area is?

I advise you to leave the money till you get a decision.

I don't think that message was to discourage people that plan to come to Canada. It is meant to be heads-up and nothing wrong in giving it to guide others that are on the way. There is always something to take away from people's experience sharing.

Remmilekunn:
I really dislike it when people come on here and discourage others, because it’s not working for you doesn’t mean it won’t work for other. Let’s stop trying to make others think and be depressed thinking it will be the same for them when they come.

Amen, thank you. I had given him copies of bank statements and school fees receipts submitted for the application but he said the officer requested for his passport and introduction letter. Note that the port introduction letter mentioned proof of funds docs and school letter of acceptance as part of docs you should be having at the border.

Gentlesoul3268:

I rejoice with you kenoja, may the land of maple favour your son.

If I may asked ? What do you mean POF documents ? Or what POF documents your son travelled with?

Thanks

Interestingly due to short time between getting passport stamped and his travel, i was seeing one-way tickets at prices higher than 2-way. Had to book 2-way (with return fixed for summer holidays next year) for economic reasons and not border officers matter. I doubt if Border officers ask for your ticket (though Airlines share information with them)

joeyztime:
Thanks to The Most High for his safe and successful trip. If you don't mind me asking sir, I just my study permit approved and am curious if you booked a one way ticket for your son or a return ticket. My study program is for 2 years and was considering getting a one way ticket. However some acquaintances suggested I get a return ticket instead. So border officers don't give any issues. I would appreciate your take based on your experience. Thanks in advance

My Son Landing Update (to help guide others in line with our common goal of helping one another)

Took Air France from Lagos to Paris to Vancouver to Winnipeg (no transit visa required)

Air France requested for admission letter, letter of acceptance, school fees payment receipt and passport (with visa in it of course).

He gladly told me he was given his study permit without being asked any questions (obviously happy because we have over drilled him ready with so much questions etc.). Was told by the border officer to submit his passport and letter of introduction while other documents (POF docs) were given back to him.

His Port of Entry was Vancouver, so the experience may not be the same for everyone. Advisable to be over ready.

We thank God for a smooth journey for an unaccompanied Minor and we saw God's hands all over it.

This seems to be a case of "looking for a reason to support intended denial" in my opinion. Sorry jare, some of these refusal reasons are frustrating

Thank you for this. I know it's not exhaustive. Please help list documents required at the POE. Don't know ho to navigate in searching for it. Thanks

ubfacility:

At the point of entry they ask simple questions like
1. What you came to do in canada.
2. What school you will be attending.
3. The course you will be studying.
4. Whether you have made payment for your fees.
5. LOI, LOA and who is your sponsor.

For those who haven't received the POE / correspondence letter on their GCKey after stamping, don't worry about it. I mean it is good to have but not compulsory. If you have already booked flights then don't cancel it just because you haven't received POE. I contacted IRCC Delhi regarding this and got this reply:

Thank you for your email. This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Migration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.
Port of Entry introduction letter is not required for you to travel to Canada. The information about your permit is in our global computer system and can be accessed by immigration officials in Canada. Please proceed to travel to Canada within the validity of the visa placed in your passport, your permit will be issued upon your arrival in Canada.
Please continue to follow us on social media for regular updates. Click on our Twitter/Facebook/YouTube links below.

Gist of the email is that POE is not required to travel and the border officers already have access to your details. Moreover, I double checked this with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) too. Cheers!

think it helps

This is the reality and some of people (including my son) are in this boat. We remain hopeful to cut it despite the tight window. Thank you for this advice Bro

Bobomaigida:

Send your PPR letter to the school to inform them that you have your approval and now waiting for stamped passport. Plead with them to offer you online access to attend orientation if they have or grant you more time to arrive Canada.

You sound as if JMG laid on curse on you...lol

Okay, so here is why you were advised to defer. You have to have enrolled, paid tuition and registered for your courses before a certain date in September and be physically present in your school in Canada to resume studies.

So, if you have not received your PPR by now, let's say, it takes2-3 weeks before it comes. Then you submit your passport to VFS and that could take another 2-4 weeks in some cases before the passport returns to you with the visa.

So basically, you may still need between 4-6 weeks minimum before visa is in hand and by that time, even the school won't allow you register for courses but only defer to the next season.

So, it's just advised that once you haven't got your visa in hand at least 2 weeks before resumption, you may need to defer so you don't lose your admission altogether and have your visa eventually cancelled.

So, you see, even if you are a FAITH person, you must work around realities and plan for the unexpected.

You should be grateful to JMG for providing free professional advice that can help your CANADA goals instead of your "I shall surely make it" response as if he just jinxed you.

Cheers, buddy

PPR ALERT

MY TOBECHUKWU MOMENT IS HERE!
After 2 refusals, I finally got my visa
The story is long but let me summarise. I applied with my family on the 14th of May, 2023 and a refusal came in on the 1st of June. I was sad and confused so I reached out to some gurus here and they assisted me. May God bless their hearts.
I waited for my CBSA note and they just mentioned that my financials and asset were not enough, so I paid my full tuition and added to my POF but the exchange rate showed us shege. I submitted the second application on the 9th of July and after 4 days, breakfast was served again. This time, I cried and was discouraged. I didn’t know what could be wrong because I added a lot of documents and my SOP was tight. I lost hope and told my hubby that I was done with Canada
He sha encouraged me to apply alone the next day. Reluctantly, I submitted the application on the 14th of July and on the 9th of August, I got the golden message. It feels so surreal.
Special shout out to bobomaigida, zubizareta and dessymond394. These guys took their time to review my sop and offer useful pieces of advice on my application free of charge. May God continue to meet you at the points of your needs.
Application submitted : 14th July
Medical passed : 3rd August
PPR : 9th August
Update on passport submission @UPS.
UPS has moved from their office beside VFS to a new building, it’s on the same street but 5mins walk from the former office.

Bro

Any update on your brother's ghost update? Did he apply via old or new portal?

Larryjam:
Normally, it’s a day after you apply on Gckey then the tracker is updated. At least I applied twice now and that was my experience. Tracker is updated 24hours after GCKey update. Except the gckey update occurs on a Friday, then you receive tracker update on Monday.

They may not have uploaded your details into the tracker. Takes about 7+ days i think

Is no not showing any error, after inputting the required details and I click next, it won't go to next step and it doesn't bring out any error messages
