PPR for my son just landed today. Glory to God!!! Once @Bullstriker called me this evening and started with" I don't know how to tell you bla bla bla, I just tell baba say I know the drill because I follow their social media and he confirmed the student visa approval. Timeline: First Time Applicant - undergraduate PAL letter - April 20, 2024 Submission - April 30, 2024 Biometrics - May 2, 2024 Upfront Medical - May 7 2024 Passport Request - May 24 Thank you Bullstriker and your team for the very professional handling of a fresh study permit application that was concluded barely 3 weeks by the grace of God for a 15 weeks timeline. A lot of approvals will follow in the coming days for members here waiting too in Jesus name, amen 12 Likes |

looks like the Saskatchewan province schools didnt send out letters generally on PAL issuance process like others did. When we were following up with Regina for PAL, someone informed me that he had gotten his PAL after paying CAD5k. Just doesn't seem to be coordinated

|

I don't think that message was to discourage people that plan to come to Canada. It is meant to be heads-up and nothing wrong in giving it to guide others that are on the way. There is always something to take away from people's experience sharing. Remmilekunn: 3 Likes |

Amen, thank you. I had given him copies of bank statements and school fees receipts submitted for the application but he said the officer requested for his passport and introduction letter. Note that the port introduction letter mentioned proof of funds docs and school letter of acceptance as part of docs you should be having at the border. Gentlesoul3268: |

Interestingly due to short time between getting passport stamped and his travel, i was seeing one-way tickets at prices higher than 2-way. Had to book 2-way (with return fixed for summer holidays next year) for economic reasons and not border officers matter. I doubt if Border officers ask for your ticket (though Airlines share information with them) joeyztime: 1 Like |

My Son Landing Update (to help guide others in line with our common goal of helping one another) Took Air France from Lagos to Paris to Vancouver to Winnipeg (no transit visa required) Air France requested for admission letter, letter of acceptance, school fees payment receipt and passport (with visa in it of course). He gladly told me he was given his study permit without being asked any questions (obviously happy because we have over drilled him ready with so much questions etc.). Was told by the border officer to submit his passport and letter of introduction while other documents (POF docs) were given back to him. His Port of Entry was Vancouver, so the experience may not be the same for everyone. Advisable to be over ready. We thank God for a smooth journey for an unaccompanied Minor and we saw God's hands all over it. 14 Likes |

This seems to be a case of "looking for a reason to support intended denial" in my opinion. Sorry jare, some of these refusal reasons are frustrating Republic001: |

From Canadavisa Discussion Forum on this last year: Maybe reach out to CBSA if possible but learnt some Airlines ask for the LOI though Jan 7, 2022 #2 For those who haven't received the POE / correspondence letter on their GCKey after stamping, don't worry about it. I mean it is good to have but not compulsory. If you have already booked flights then don't cancel it just because you haven't received POE. I contacted IRCC Delhi regarding this and got this reply: Thank you for your email. This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Migration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi. Port of Entry introduction letter is not required for you to travel to Canada. The information about your permit is in our global computer system and can be accessed by immigration officials in Canada. Please proceed to travel to Canada within the validity of the visa placed in your passport, your permit will be issued upon your arrival in Canada. Please continue to follow us on social media for regular updates. Click on our Twitter/Facebook/YouTube links below. Gist of the email is that POE is not required to travel and the border officers already have access to your details. Moreover, I double checked this with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) too. Cheers! think it helps copy & Paste Eldythedon: 1 Like |

This is the reality and some of people (including my son) are in this boat. We remain hopeful to cut it despite the tight window. My son's medical has been updated to pass since August 3rd and no update till date. Have been agitated but learning to just remain calm and calculating...positioning for the impossible as it is MayorJoshofNewY: |
