As we all know the APC presidential rally was held in Rivers State today and the rally was really a flop going by the standard characterised with such rallies at present and past.

I will lay a background why the APC presidential rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital was a flop, notable names in Rivers APC like Amaechi and co. didn't show up.

1) Amaechi led Rivers APC withdrew their support for Tinubu the moment Tinubu started romancing with Governor Wike and started negotiating a deal with Wike to trade APC to Wike for his support.

Yes in politics there's alliance and negotiation with another party or individual but you must carry your home front party in this case which happens to be Rivers APC along with the negotiation, discussion, deal, alignment and realignment as it were, let them be part of it instead of feeling betrayed and thrown under the bus.

2) After the APC presidential primary Senator Tinubu loyalists like former governor of Edo state Adam Oshiomhole, present governor of Ebonyi state Dave Umahi, present governor of Lagos state Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of House of Representative Femi Gbajabiamiala, governor of Ondo state Akereodolu, and former governor of Ekiti state Fayemi became pal with Wike infact they were frequently visiting Wike in Port Harcourt and making remarks that demarketed Rivers APC.

These Tinubu loyalists comes to Port Harcourt every now and then to see governor Wike as part of their horse trading and negotiation without recognizing the former minister Rotimi Amaechi Rivers APC and carrying them along with whatever negotiation they have with Wike that was wrong and betrayal.

3) In 2018/2019 Senator Tinubu was backing and supporting Magnus Abe in detriment of Rivers APC that eventually led to them not participating in all 2019 general elections except the presidential election. Tinubu and governor Wike bankrolled all the court cases of Magnus Abe against Rivers APC . Same Tinubu asked Magnus Abe to move to SDP when he failed to win the APC governorship primary in Rivers State.

4) Composition of Tinubu presidential campaign council has loyalists of Magnus Abe who is now the SDP governorship candidate, Tony Okocha one of his loyalists that claims they're APC members but goes around campaigning against all the Rivers APC candidates.

5) Not forgetting Adam Oshiomhole a Tinubu loyalists was invited by governor Wike late last year in Port Harcourt to commission a project to the chagrin surprise of many Adam Oshiomhole said they'll allow Wike have his way in Rivers state in return for him to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Like or hate him Amaechi remains one of the best governor of Rivers state and loved by genuine, neutral and reasonable people, because he was fair to all irrespective of party affiliation and his human capital development through job creation as governor. But his party APC is just a no to Rivers people, as much as APC and Buhari is hated in Rivers State because of Jonathan his wife Patience sentiment, Amaechi was able to give Buhari over 150k votes in 2019 and the apathy that greeted Rivers APC as a result of not been on the ballot in 2019.

Wike and Tinubu alliance will not make Tinubu win Rivers state because of Wike's arrogance and his divisive nature of politics, the hatred for Tinubu and APC. Couple with the fact that Amaechi has withdrew his support for Tinubu.

No Rivers APC member that is a firm believer of Amaechi will vote Tinubu talk more of the neutrals. Rivers state will be won by Atiku or Peter Obi.

Wike is on a journey of no return with his alliance with Tinubu.
