emmygod: I do wonder why some people refer Enugu as a poor state. I have travelled around Nigeria states and still observed that Enugu state is better than most states in Nigeria. Infrastructural and federal government infulence. The state is rich in all standard. People believe that Enugu state didnt have a huge market and thats makes them poor. Short sighted people do think otherwise. The states is fast growing in industrial development. The plastic industries, brewery, pharmaceuticals, shools,Agriculture and aluminium are just few to mention. How many states enjoy this in Nigeria.Guy, leave Yoruba ppl for now. concentrate on the topic |
ilugunboy: Who is calling Enugu here? That red earth and dull city? And ibadan is what? A poverty stricken place where the indigenes claim all though own nothing, keep it going, man. still lmao at the ciiviliation talk, i guess the white man that even brought civilization to nigeria is living in those type of ibadanhouses. in fact, fashola, OBJ, and even the governors live in those kind of houses, abi dem no follow for culture preservation and civilization? lol Am calling Enugu here, i nu la? |
Ola Johnson: The rate some people are saying their names are not in the list is as if something is being shared. Ndi ewegi orun/ awon alaini se.dont mutilate igbo language in my presence o, igbo wanna be. i choro iri awo, rie nke gbara agba |
django1: Lol! Point us to the other mall in enugu apart from polo park mall? Abi you think sey na shopping complex dem call mall?this one is even ignorant. so, till a foreign firm becomes situated in a complex, it ceases to be a mall. do u know how many of them in Okpara Avenue? how does all these responses even support the low sales they make in shoprite ibadan sef? and the nature of the crowd? u ppl shd stop making me laff nah |
i don die! laughing out loud at all the comments. d guy putting up GdP Fgures should go and sit down because yorubas cant lay claim to more than 10 per cent of it, the GDP is thanks to those foreign firms of which shoprite is going to be among soon. the CBN has introduced cashless economy in only Abuja and 5 other states of the nation because these areas house 90% of the cash flow in nigeria- Abia, Anambra, Port Harcourt,Kano.where is a yoruba state? if u even look at all these states mentioned , u find out that igbos are heavily involved in all of them. u ppl dont even have shame. none of the yoruba cities can match up to enugu and owerri, at all in terms of any city aspect,so u guys should quit trying bringing up justifications for poverty. |
Nice!! But why do people always crack jokes about Ibadan peeps? ![]() In the UK for example; arguably between 30-50% of all the Nigerians here, are from Ibadan and Oyo/Osun state axis. So Ibadan can't be that bad. Gatts love for Ibadan people!!
As Aba dudes full Asia, Europe and US, Does does that Aba has the best roads in Nigeria? Ibadaqn and peeps remain what they are |
django1: Nice one bro!!which one is enugu mall. na only one mall dey enugu? ROBAN STORES isnt it like shoprite. d fact of these things is that ur people dont own any of these |
eaglechild: What has all this got to do with the low quality crowd at suprait? My dear, help me ask them o. the funny aspect of all these is thst some of their own started yabbing ibadan, one guy like dat cyberG vented the frustration on igbo guys immediately, and am telling him to direct his anger back to the abeokuta peeps, he refused. is it not under-exposure to the good tnz of life that will make sb think anoda envies him for sth he just got. its like telling Onitsha peeps they are envious of shoprite, do u know how many shopping malls/departmental stores there or is it cos this particular one has the name shoprite ? Garri dudes |
noblezone: Nwa nna,My dear, no be small dead horse o.Am with u on this one |
^^^I think part of the problem is that the core moslem north of today has lost that sense of pride and dignity that Sadauna had, that saw the north in his day try to match the south in all aspects of human/economic development. The present crop of northern elite (well most to be fair) are just interested in gaining and holding on to power at the centre to control the allocation and distribution of economic largesse and benefits; like oyel wells, gov't contracts, high-level appointments, and enacting policies (like the one in question) that could help keep the 'competition' in sight. Ahmadu Bello would be spinning in his grave!
before i respond to this post, pls, explain wat u mean by Ahmadu Bello will be soinning in his grave. is it that he is unhappy or otherwis? |
Ola Johnson: The Igbo think that they are the only ones that travel to other parts of the country. That is why they make mockery of places outside the SE. Enugu falls shot of being referred to a capital when compared with Ibadan.all of U have not provided any evidence to prove y ibadan shd be referred to as a capital, so forget it. am beginning to understand your stands, ibadan is probably your best thats y u cant stand the thing being under rated |
Ogbeche77: Report has it that customers who visited shoprite on it first day of opening in ibadan were over 102,000, but they recorded just N35,000 sale |
dayokanu: Ibadan compared to Enugu? Enugu wan die?Enugu cant catch up with ibadan in poverty, i agree my brother. even in a million years. Good morning |
if u ppl like reach 500 in number, use multiple usernames, etc.its undisputable. Enugu is way better than Ibadan in all ramifications. the inhabitants, the roads, the greenry is even organised, the cleanliness, the orderliness, the fact that its an igbo town so im no go carry last, the foods, etc and of course the private buildings. thats how u know where prosperous ppl live. and none of shd give ma that ish of been in Enugu so and so time, u guys have not left ur enclave at all. make i hear say Ibadan is the only old location in NIgeria, even Kano with all the so called hausa backwardness cant produce the number of poor houses in ibadan. u guys are simply poor. if u say they made laws not to demolish the dilapidated buildings because u are preserving culture in ibadan, then be prepared to admit they are doing same in all your towns because ABEOKUTA,AKURE, ado ekiti are all that way. Poverty-stricken culture indeed. the only good looking houses in ibadan are public buildings. After seeing the area that led to the ibadan govt house, i knew u guys are on a long thing. Have u ever bothered to ask y yorubas are always romancing soaked garri? poverty. |
awodman: Sincere 9igerian abeg put ba7man name for that list sharp sharp...can't you understand his approach to lobbyinghahahahahahahaha, falls from my bed |
Keke Napep is living on borrowed time Nationwide.. Most governors who jumped on the Keke Napep initiative didn't properly think it through. The riders of these contraptions are just as bad as the Okada riders. Until we learn to properly train, monitor and regulate commercial transporters, they will continue to be a menace to other private road users. That's the real problem. Keke will later have to go... Especially as most states move to more efficient means of transportation like intra city trains and dedicated bus routes for commercial busses.
so, if i need a fast n sharp drop, i will board intracity trains n commercial buses? abeg.................. |
lwkmd. @ CyberG, AM sure u dont want me to post Ibadan pix or do u? u really want me to display those almost dilapidated red zinc structures called houses in ibadan. u just opened a can of worms. to avoid duplicity, click on the threads on enugu pix and ibadan pix or better still, google them. how many private houses are even worth looking at in ibadan? do u know that those houses u put are not even common in ibadan. been to ibadan -yes, lived there, never. unless, i wl stay in a hotel. abeg, come to enugu let me flex u small |
cherrykim: Thank God, You are bold to answer my question,if not for NYSC i will not have known Enugu, am not talking of shoprite this time around, but to compare other less developed States that like to make noise, when Lagos State,River State, Oyo State are discussing. Kindly do a favour for me, (1) Compare the population density of Ibadan with EnuguLWKMD!!! DID U ACTUALLY ASK THESE QUESTIONS esp the last? OMG, u sure have not been to Enugu and dont argue further. Its not even anybody's fault that while igbos are setting their own industries at nnewi, aba and onitsha AND EVEN lAGOS, u are bragging abt foreign firms. keep it up, thats how China, America got there, babe. My dear, this mustnt call for supporting your tribe. Enugu capital is way finer, better and with refined inhabitants than Ibadan or any ngbatic capital for that matter. Talking abt nysc, do u want me to tell u what my friend corpers told me abt ibadan and Osogbo? haba |
Sincere 9gerian: If some vultures gather on one side shouting crucify Jonathan, it is only natural for an opposing set of people to gather on another side shouting dont crucify Jonathan. If you call those shouting dont crucify Jonathan 'bottom lickers', what do you call those shouting crucify Jonathan? Remember, if the vultures shouting crucify Jonathan were not there, those shouting dont crucify Jonathan would not have gatheredwat abt ngozievergreen |
Mogidi: Bros whilst doing your shopping, could you in your kind heart find a brain surgeon for these people :u forgot lacasa and eggheaders |
lwkmd! Sincere 9erian, abeg add me to that list. these ACN/APC dudes have resorted TO propaganda to fetch votes. Dats too ngbatic |
NO LONG TIN: This is total rubbish!!! so d thing don turn to family business, when she dies her son will take over.M bro, na so we see am ooo. Tinubu, head of ACN, thinks he can seperate these small small acts from his true personalities.......and the possible xtics of APC. The devil (GEJ) we know indeed..... |
laugh wan kill me die 1) and who the hell is asking everybody where they are from? starting with me, am from Enugu state. Am sure u dont want to compare Ibadan to Enugu, the capital or have u got that liver? nonsense. 2) @ CyberG, What are u talking about Adenuga and Dangote? U sure know how to talk wetin u no fit defend.how many Nigerian shopping plazas in Lagos and especially Abuja are not owned by igbos? Abeokuta peeps on this thread has yabbed Ibadan too, so leave igbos out of this. Imagine your own ppl fighting which is beta btw ABK and Ibadan and to think d two wack places are even the most popular of yoruba regions is making me smh. Enugu get shoprite, anambra and abia are stl building theirs , who exactly is envious of ibadan shoprite, and let me tell u, the idea of a foreign shop is not even good for the nigerian economy, so bone that envy talk. Nonsense 3) even with the shoprite, insteading of using their car horns, ibadan men will keep using their mouths to shout at any body/car driver that is obstructing their path on the road. |
so, all the lazy tribespeople think we have time to hate on them for oil discovered in lagos. nonsense, isnt this some old news sef? am sure some of u saw it for the first time with this topic. ondo state that has been explored , how is it beta dan the rest of ngbatic states in general. anambra has crude oil , will u say that anambra has many developed communities because of the presence of the oil? oil was discovered in Ebonyi earlier dis year, making them 4 states in d SE, so where will the jealousy come from? useless ppl. the discovery of oil will only mean militants can now be traced to Lagos................... |
justsayemma: U guys r 4ny,MAXIMILANO et al, d prices of foods dats sky rocketin by d day, despite d voodoo improvement in agric sector,is not ur problem, its who a yoruba institution installs is ur problem.if Ojukwu's son is given a post by d obi of nnewi,n a yoruba man is complaining, wil it make sense 2 u? Y cant u people mind ur underdeveloped states n leave Lag alone?aside lagos, which state in the west is more developed than SOME non northern state? everybody is a visitor to lagos including yorubas, even the so-called lagos indigenes, so who exactly will leave lagos alone. yorubas own the least of properties among the nigerian properties in lagos, so wat are u even saying? |
deols: Isn't it dumb to think people speak that way in Ibadan? Apart from the sutin for shooting, no other silliness is allowed from any hating quarter..Nooooo, there are even worse tnz. for example, 70% of ibadan gals think that Paparazzi means Razzi's father, etc |
barcanista: Oga the most important thing is that infrastructure is in place. As for the empowerment, the people suppose use their brain.exactly, the ppl shd use their brains to gain from the infrastructure- the roads, water supply , the bridge shd ensure ease of transport srom one community to anoda, etc. dont mind those pooor yorubas that think every group of ppl are lazy like them. if the houses in akwa ibom not been fine means poverty, i can see the finenss of ibadan buildings. |
Abagworo: Oil has always been in Lagos but for politics. However I get happier with the discovery of oil everywhere in the world. Very soon we'll have to drink the oil and all these PDP supporters will understand what PDP did to Nigeria. After 11 consecutive years of oil boom, we are still importing refined oil, After 14 years we are still struggling with power. What a waste.just remove pdp from it, oil has been explored in naija since 1959 , pdpd started in 1999 |
If the quota system is not abolished, things like this will never stop. In economics, if supply is fixed and demand exceeds supply, all you have to do is raised the price. This is the case in states with high cut off marks. And on the other hand, when supply is fixed and demand is lower than supply, you'll have to reduce your price to the level where the demand will be sufficient in order to avoid wastage even if it means giving it out at ridiculously low price. This is the case in states with very low cut off marks. The high cut off marks in some states is due to high turn up of pupil for the unity schools entrance exams compared to states with lower cut off marks. Let's assume 500 pupil sat for the entrance exam in anambra state when only 100 are needed from each states. This means only the best hundred will be taken. On the contrary, if only 85 pupils sat for the exams in yobe state, in a quota system, this means all the pupils will be admitted even if some of them score zero. You can't expect the cut off marks to be even in all states when the turn up is different. This might even have little or nothing to do with intelligence. The thing is, there's little competition in the north because only few of them have interest in education. I don't even care about the quota system in unity school, because it's in line with the purpose of its establishment. The only dangerous one is the federal character in appointment into public service and even in politics. As long as quota system in appointment is being abolished, there'll be no way the half baked products of quota system from these unity schools will affect our progress. I even heard any person with only first school leaving certificate is eligible to contest for a seat at the house of reps, thanks to our northern 'brothers'.
and who is asking bauchi andGombe students not to turn up for exams? amd who is forcing Abia students to turn up for exams too? mtchew |
Bontee: It is better people read up about the unity schools of a thing before they start abusing the people of northern Nigeria. Its not like every kids from the south is smart or by default more intelligent than any kid from the north.then, they shd prove it by making yobe state 139 or 138 as anambra and imo states respectively |
hahahahahahahahahahahaha- joke of the cenury oooooooo. so,u mean i should descend on u? try meby posting anoda beggarly comment |
