RichyBlacK: High-velocity Projectiles Christians and their pastors are under no illusion that an assassins bullet will be repelled by some magical force. Nope. On the 13th of May 1981, when the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II was shot by Mehmet Ali Ağca ("a trained expert Turkish gunman" , though the bullet was accelerating towards the Vicar of Christ, the laws of motion and those of thermodynamics were not violated; though the projectile may have had some hesitation about striking His Holiness, it just had to obey the inviolable laws of nature! Papa was struck!
Christians and their pastors can be seen with heavily armed escorts and bullet-proof cars. It's not that they don't believe in the power of God, it's just that the laws of the universe, laid down by Baba God Himself, do not respect any mortal - witches o, babalwao o, dibia o, shaman o; those laws MUST be obeyed. I think there is a set of christian denomination who are under this illusion ooo! You see them wearing their dirty and stinking lemon aprons everywhere, rolling in muddy water and performing acrobatics like mad men in the middle of the road. Their name rhymes with something *chosen* |

RichyBlacK: Transportation Today, there is a reason why you don't find Christians challenging the laws of nature, unlike adherents to primitive belief systems. Christians and their pastors like Adeboye are in no delusion that they can cover the distance between Lagos and Houston by praying and fasting; no such claims can and ever will be made! They use commercial aviation, and the wealthy ones (that's another topic) have private jets to fly them around. Fast forward to 2013, same Adeboye claimed tha the drove from Ore to Lagos without petrol in his car but only on prayers. I can conclude from this, that Adeboye and his christian followers are sure in a box of delusion . |

RichyBlacK: 2. The stories in the Holy Bible were written by men inspired by God and many of them cannot be considered literally.
For example, the story of Adam and Eve. That story in the Genesis cannot be taken literally, just like many stories in the Bible, including the many dreams in the Old Testament and the many parables in the New Testament. Your question may then be, why do I consider myself a Christian if I do not accept the literal interpretation of the Genesis story. My answer is this: I believe in the Genesis story. How about evolution? The theory of evolution remains our best theory on explaining the origin and nature of the species.
A follow-up question is: Don't you find a contradiction in believing in the Genesis creation story and agreeing with the theory of evolution? The answer: No I don't. Why? Let me explain using two sentences: 1. The White House was built by the U.S. government 2. The White House was built by black slaves
Both statements are correct! I wished this was 2017! The NL creationist mongrels would have come for your skin with their rabid teeth! |

texazzpete: Well, people say lots of things. Do i believe anything just because i haven't 'witnessed' it myself? No! I am not willing to enter any agreement or consider any scenario that involves anyone who luckily survives a bullet wound turning a gun on me. However, if you're game, i'll pay N500000 to anyone who manages to repel a bullet fired from my gun. I have no hangups about killing anyone, so it may well be a worthwhile diversion to:
1. Prove my point 2. Rid the world of one more occultist
I'd like to see the day these our famed Juju men ensure Nigeria wins the world cup. As it was in 2009, so it has always been even in 2016 and 2017. Same challenges have been thrown to those who profess these beliefs with so much confidence, yet none has been willing to carry it out the challenges. Just a few months ago one even claimed to be able to drink poison/acid due to faith in Yahweh, when challenged, he reneged and called it a slip/mistake! cc: dalaman |

The Octogenarian mentioned how quota system and tribalism over competent engineering professionals were the first blow that dealt with the Railway corporation and even other sectors? How come no one is discussing this? The situation whereby sensitive technical roles are reserved for politicians and their dependents who are not competent enough to be employed in such roles? About time we threw away these silly concepts (quota system, religion, tribalsim and co) and start taking actions based on merit else we will keep blaming the wrong people fifteen years later when things refuse to work! Christianity Etc › Re: Anambra Catholic Church Massacre VS Religion Indifference by kevoh(m): 9:57am On Aug 07, 2017 |
balash: Are u actually reading posts at all? I am talking of the causes of death of innocent individual, it's actually said he was part of drug related business and he was traced to the church. He is actually the cause of the death of the individual and his alias being a bishop meant he is a religious fella and a Christian, an alfa is also a man that goes to mosque and prays, I have witnessed folds of news on Nairaland with the alfa name and the next thing is always muslim are killers or thereabout. We are trying to find the killers now, but we are not pointing at religion in finding it. Which most of you Christians find joy in deliberately claiming religion instead of crimes 1. You are not the only person to have condemned the killings but you are the first I have seen add a malicious twist to it. This is Islamic propaganda mr.man. You have been corrected by several people on this thread that the said Bishop is not a religious person but just a nickname. Your comment above shows you have chosen to see it otherwise. Even a seven years old can't be this blind to obvious errors in the writeup after being corrected, only people with an intent to twist the narrative to suit their propaganda are. If you want to have a revenge on Isis and Boko killings being attributed to Muslims or an alfa/mallam paedophile acts being attributed to Muslims, find a story with a real Bishop/pastor and open a thread for that. Such stories are not hard to find. 2. Just because I disagreed with your malicious narrative, you were quick to call me a Christian. Only yesterday a NL christain called me a Jew. I am none of the labels ascribed to me. Come up with a better line. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Anambra Catholic Church Massacre VS Religion Indifference by kevoh(m): 9:00am On Aug 07, 2017 |
balash: An Alfa or Mallam Is an Alias The Alfa or mallam are titles of honor given to Islam scholars. It has a religious undertone for giving of the title. The Bishop is also a title of honor for Christians with a religious undertone. But the person involved in this case, got his alias or nickname,Bishop more or less from a social construct, the way Zinedan Zidane is called Zizou or Augustine Okocha is called Jay-Jay. There is no religious undertone to it. And no the man called Bishop did not form the gang of killers, he was the one the gunmen were looking for to kill. Your writeup sounds fishy, it's either you did not read any of the news links posted or you are deliberately twisting facts and terms to suit your narrative. |
