steppin:This is a fallacy of hasty generalisation! |
OFFICIAL336:No, you can not just use helicopter service. It's quite expensive. How many commercial passengers can a helicopter airlift per day to Abuja before the engines start begging? Besides, if you redirect flights to Lagos, how about travelers planning to leave Abuja to other parts? I agree people are playing politics with the whole issue. Kaduna airport can find it difficult handling the traffic load, the Abuja-Kaduna roads are bad and even if the road is somehow good it's not an option when convenience for the average flyer/traveler is considered, repairs can not be done on the single Abuja airport runway without shutting down operations. The FG is in much quagmire about the whole situation. Right now, the lesser evil which is Kaduna Airport seems to be their only option. |
cybug:The feeling is mutual! I'm not angry though! ![]() |
The FG is in quite a dilemma! It would have been easier to carry out repairs at night like is being done in some countries, sadly, Abuja has ONLY ONE RUNWAY. If there were two or more runways, arrival and departure of aircrafts would have been easily diverted to the other runways while work is being done on the faulty runway. Dunno if Kaduna airport will be able to handle the traffic but the Abuja-Kaduna road is in equally bad shape just as the Minna-Abuja road. Who would want to take a flight from Lagos to While the FG is trying to get its head out of this dilemma. I will advise them to prepare for the construction of a second runway at Abuja Airport. |
If the orthodox churches and mosques with their profit-oriented businesses are complying, why are the Pentecostals being stubborn? ![]() |
EdDave:The DG of Nigerian Meteorological is also due for retirement the middle of this year. Don't understand what the gragra is all about! |
2shur:I disgaree. When 1 BTC was at $1100 that same week and rising faster than a jet I am pretty sure you were dancing and excited that your bitcoin dollars was gaining. It was not useless then. That was an appreciation of about $400 gain for those who had like $2100 at the beginning of the last two weeks of 2016. You were supposed to sell your BTC then for profit and buy BTC back when the price normalises back to $800 to $900 because it was a matter of time before a correction of the sharp rise in BTC by investors would take place. BTC is not useless! If you are to deal with BTC, note that you are not just having a wallet with loads of money but a wallet that works like Forex trading. |

This is a serious issue. Nature has blessed us with so many herbs to explore and exploit. Our elders are dying and dying with this knowledge of various herbal knowledge. No thanks to imported religion and Nollywood that have succeeded in demonizing every thing that has attributes of being from the village . I believe there are still some young men and women out there who still have a fraction of herbal medicine knowledge they picked from their parents. Sad thing is many are reluctant to practice. Infact, wifey once told me about an old schoolmate of hers who learnt traditional medicine from her dad. She's very good at it but she's out there looking for white collar job as a graduate. Like seriously? Someone is sitting on a goldmine but prefers to turn the other face for a white collar job instead! Traditional herbal medicine should not die but evolve to be modern day medicine. The Chinese have kept their herbal medicine from going extinct nothing stops us from doing same. |
Get a prepaid digital meter (If you can) and save yourself the headache! I used to share a bill of 37k estimated billing with my other two neighbours back in March 2016. Now I use up only 3k worth of electricity per month on prepaid meter and can do less than that if only my dependents will stop leaving unused appliances on. |
Don't waste your MB. The audio is not in English. |
9ja4show:Good one! At least there's competition over that route now. |
DeeDeeDee: kevoh: |
9ja4show:While there might be stiff competition for Arik at the international level with other international airlines as you indicated above, I doubt if we can say the same of local routes and local airlines. Or does Air Cote d'ivoire fly Abuja to Calabar too? Something is making Nigerians still flock to Arik to satisfy their local needs despite the constant complaints of frustrating delays. So long other local airlines do not provide that thing, Arik air will not sit up. |
ucheHapers:Sadly it can't happen. Arik Air covers most Nigerian and West African routes that other Airlines are yet to cover. They also have more flights going to a certain route per day while others plying same route might go only once. Therefore a significant percentage of passengers are forced to use Arik for lack of alternative airlines to their route. |
I saw it coming. The beating up of one of Arik staff was long overdue. The delays were already too much and people getting frustrated every day. It was only a matter of time that frustration is converted into aggression. |
The below posts are 100% sarcastic (since it's hard for some NLders to detect sarcasm) 1. Obinna58 you are Catholic and you were never a christian. 2. The rise of the internet is killing off atheism gradually. 3. The fool says in his heart there is no god. 4. Obinna58 is one of the multiple alternate monikers of the few atheists. 5. I pity your life, you will roast in hades/hell fire. 6. You are just in your mid-twenties and still eating mama thank you, you don't know anything yet. Then I continue to insult Obinna58, calling him liar and brag about achievements he never asked for and no one cares about. |
bettercreature:Access bank gives interest oo but you will have to do the impossible by not withdrawing more than once from that account in a month. Good luck to anyone trying that in this recession! |
eloti:I dey laff #in Obj's voice. Who will pay her 100k as minimum wage? It's like some people are still living in denial of the sorry state of the economy. Even if the government decides to up the minimum wage to 500k per month it will not solve the problem. They will only be scratching the surface. 1. We have overpopulation problem. People breeding and birthing 5 to 6 children and strangulating the small available resources in the country. Going the China way of 1 child policy might not be a bad idea. 2. We need to solve the issue of power and provide 24HRS electricity. This will serve as booster for local industrialization. 3. Tax the hell out of religious houses/institutions and owners of unnecessary luxury goods like Private Jets. 4. Revoke the licence of oil blocks. 5. Tourism! Tourism! Tourism! Chei, so much potential for revenue generating here. Cross River state is trying sha. Example: We can create some touristic sites in Lagos and Abuja where International flight passengers on transit through Nigeria can land in the morning, have a quick 2 to 3 hours visits of the sites, spend some dollars to buy souvenirs and take off to their final destination later in the day. Egypt is doing this already. 6. Cancel all these yeye Project fame type of shows where 10 million naira is doled out to one person meanwhile people with solid small business ideas are looking for such amount even as loans. Check here: https://www.nairaland.com/3527064/boi-yes-programme-big-deceit This point might not be solid as MTN and co might ask me if it is my money ...LOL ![]() The list of actions the FG can take is inexhaustive. Note that I did not mention diversifying into Agriculture because that one is an overflogged issue! |

Cremation makes more sense and has more advantages. No health risks, little or no use of land space, no risk of being dug out for ritual purpose, portability of remains, less expensive burial procedures like purchasing caskets, cleaning of remains e.t.c. The main disadvantage is people whose religion and/or traditional practices encourage burial will see it as a sin and that they might miss some form of Utopian reward after they die if they were cremated. |

Clone2020:No it's not a myth. Many Nigerians think Sambisa forest is just one street!Sambisa forest is about ten times (or even more) the size of Lagos state. Imagine how large Lagos is, the amount of Soldiers/army it will take to effectively hold/secure lagos. Now compare this to how difficult it will be to replicate same for the Soldiers in a forest that is more than ten times larger than Lagos, terrain different from lagos and a whole lots of things that can happen in a forest. |
